Kevin, are you gonna give it a try? C'mon and say you are! We all need a good laugh! I think this place would be great for you to wear your camo and tree leaves jump suit, you know, so you are invisible to t-rex! ::yes::

I got a segment idea! How about sending a correspondent to the restaurant to call in "live" while you tape the show so we can hear the "Jurassic park" ambiance! :thumbsup2

;)

ETA:
BTW~ If anyone is gonna get picked to join Kevin it should be me..... I have a 6, 4, 3, and 2yo. We all know how much he enjoys meals with children. :rotfl:

Oh or what about Corey and Julie they can practice dinning out with kids! I'll supply the sanitizer :rotfl2:

I actually can not wait to go. We will be there in a month and we are gonna celebrate my sons 4th birthday a little early at T Rex. I saw they had ribs and he loves ribs so we are in. It does look a little scary now that I have seen it. Lets hope all goes well.

I went to the T-Rex in Kansas City a couple weekends ago while in town for the NASCAR race. I found it to be a fun idea, but waaay too much like the Rainforest Cafe in the look and feel. Hopefully, for the WDW location, they will put some better original creative ideas into it. =)

I'd like to think with a Rain Forest Cafe no more than 100 yards away in DTD it will have more original and creative ideas.

We leave tomorrow for our trip.:woohoo:

We don't have an ADR but are going to try to get in at some point, pending our schedule. If we do, I will post about our experience....including some food porn.

Nobody has an ADR for T-Rex so everyone is on equal footing. Good luck.

Take a look at these pictures and let us know how they compare to Kansas!

Thanks for the Flickr photo link. Those photos looked really fun. Not sure if my two girls are up for it, but they do like Dinos - just not real, big, scary, I'm-going-to-eat-you dinos. My oldest has a large Tiny, from Meet the Robinsons, that she runs around with.

I'm leaving soon for WDW :woohoo: and we are going to try T-Rex Tuesday 10/21. My nieces have appointments at BBB in the afternoon and then we thought we'd give T-Rex a shot. Hopefully we'll be able to get in since they aren't taking ADRs yet. At the very least, we are going to go in and look around.

Okay, I gotta say, this place looks kind of awful... and what the heck is with Build a Dino by Build a Bear??? Why doesn't it just say, Hand Over All Your Money or better yet, You're Not Leaving With One Red Cent. I'm not a big dinosaur, mammoth, caveman motif fan, so this is just my humble opinion. YMMV! That gigantic squid or octopus just creeps me out completely!

I hope the food is at least decent otherwise, for me, it has no redeeming qualities for me whatsoever.

After reviewing the pictures more closely I do sort of like the pink sparkly jellyfish light fixture in the aqua room and the iceroom looks interesting.

Really....I heard it seats 600 people! I was hoping we might have a chance to do a lunch in the late afternoon next week, like 3pm, but not if it's mobbed.
I wish they took reservations.

I did get to go eat at T-Rex on October 14 - opening day. The menu has appetizers, carnivore (that's what it said - beef, ribs, chicken) Pasta, and Seafood. There were also several appetizers and salads. There were three desserts. The "signature" dessert seemed to be something called chocolate extinction - enough for two people had chocolate cake, ice cream and crumbled butterfingers. The hamburgers looked like the size of dinner plates. No one I saw had the ribs so I can't tell you what they looked like. My friend and I both had pasta. The lasagna was good, nice size portion, served with a wedge of bread. Salad could be added for additional cost. My friend had the tortelini (sp?) which was in a cream based sauce. She said it was very good. We split fried mozerella sticks appetizer which came with this little blob of baked cheese on the side to munch on as well.

Ambiance - very similar to Rain Forest. About every 30 minutes there is a meteor shower and the animatronic figures go crazy. There is one part called the ice cave, it changes colors when it "melts." The bar with the aquarium and the hanging octopus was really neat. The bar has some "signature" drinks which are featured in the beginning of the menu.

Overall, it was good food, you pay a little more than it may be worth due to location. The gift shop is similar to Rain Forest but with dino theme to all the items. There were some educational toys about dinos there. They also have a sand pit to dig in for little ones. They can uncover "bones". You can also buy a bag of fossil parts or minerals and rocks and take it out to the panning area (kind of like gold panning) where you sift it in water looking for the fossils or minerals. Build a Dino is just like Build a Bear except the animals are dinos. The pink one was cute :)
