************************************************** ***********************************

hey, everyone! it's me, dawn.....again! yes, i'm back for another trip. most of you probably already know me but some of you may not, so let me give a brief disney history. here's the low down.....or is that down low? i'm not that cool, so i'm not sure.

i went to disney world several times as a child (3 to be exact) and loved every trip even more than the one before it. but then i took a WAY-TOO-LONG hiatus because of college, money, life, etc. my hubby and i decided to head back to disney in may of 2007 and that's when i officially became a disney nut. ask anyone.....they all know my secret! that's the first TR you see down below in my signature - the one in blue. then i decided to take a good friend of mine that was a disney virgin to WDW last september for her 30th birthday just a for a quickie weekend trip - that's the TR down below in purple. then hubby and i headed back to WDW this past april/may for another full-fledged disney vacation - that's the one in green. then i was lucky enough to plan a bonus trip with my friend erica (vandyfan10) this past september during free dining. that trip is down below in black and gold and if you're not reading it, you should go check it out now! we're only on day 2!!!

so that brings us to this trip. first i have to tell you how i'm fully aware of how lucky i am this year. i am truly blessed and i count those blessings every night that i'm able to go to disney 3 times this year. i couldn't ask for more! the april/may trip was our regularly-scheduled vacation. then my september trip with erica was truly magical because everything just seemed to work for us - free dining plus my AP (which sadly expired on 9/22 :sad1: ) meant all i had to pay for was half the hotel, half the gas to get there and souvenirs! then came this trip. you see, anna and family (who you will meet in just a minute) were supposed to go with us in april/may, but stuff happened that prevented them from doing so. they did end up joining us for a pirate & princess party, but only for that one night. so she and i were talking about going back sometime and the subject of disney world at christmas somehow came up. so we decided to do a short 4-day trip to disney this year. it is a budgeted trip so don't be expecting any stays at the grand floridian! but i promise you will not regret coming along for the ride - we always have fun and i'm sure this trip will be no exception! :goodvibes

however, i do have to preface this TR by telling you that currently i have NO plans to return to disney world in 2009. before you shed a tear or threaten to beat me over the head, please listen to my explanation. you see, my hubby and i are thinking of starting a family of our own. so we are re-prioritizing for 2009 and hopefully by the end of the year we will be able to start working towards that goal. disney is expensive -- don't deny it. and we need to be saving that money for other areas of our life....at least for a little while. on top of that, i do realize that there ARE other places to vacation. although i'd be perfectly content with returning to disney world every year, he would not. and that's not fair to him. he is a wonderful husband and is very willing to cater to my disney obsession, but i have to be fair to him too. besides......i can't complain. I HAVE BEEN TO DISNEY 3 TIMES THIS YEAR. that's more than a lot of people can say! so no tears will be shed......at least not for a little while anyway!

now......on to the cast!

first, there's me and DH......

http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n187/punkin413/Picture025-2.jpg

that's one of my favorite pictures from our april/may trip this year.

me and my all-time favorite disney character, peter pan!

http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n187/punkin413/1DSC04884.jpg

(i cropped wendy out of the picture. we don't like wendy. wendy is a homewrecker.) i'm a 32-year-old court reporter and self-confessed disney nut. i love helping people plan their trips. i wish there was some way i could make money from it without having to get all the licensing and stuff that comes along with it! i'm the planner, especially when it comes to disney trips.

then there's my hubby, ray......

http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n187/punkin413/DSC04775.jpg

he's a 36-year-old (soon-to-be 37) IT pro/network administrator for an international stock market analysis firm......and boy has he been busy lately! :rotfl: ray went to disney every year as a child, but had had a long (i'm talking 20+ years) hiatus until we returned last year. i'm slowly converting him into a disney nut. he doesn't like to admit it, but he's definitely becoming one. the other day he was messing with my ipod and when i got in the car he had the soundtrack to wishes playing!

here were are in a picture we had taken 2 weeks ago with our babies, sherman and eli. sherman is 11 years old (on the right) and eli is 4 years old. i donated to our local rescue squad and we got a free picture out of it, so i couldn't pass up the offer. not the most creative photography in the world, but i can't complain since it was free!

http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n187/punkin413/File0081.jpg

this shot actually cracks me up because it reminds of me of this pose my sister, brother and i always do that we call "the olan mills shot" where you look up at a point above or away from the camera and smile this really cheesy smile. here we are cheesing it up!

http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n187/punkin413/Dawn1130741-1.jpg

:rotfl2:

okay.....sorry. on to the rest of the cast!

here we have anna and family, which is probably what i will refer to them as during this trip!

http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n187/punkin413/196538048208_0_BG.jpg

first there's anna.....

http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n187/punkin413/DSC05013g.jpg

anna is a 28-year-old mommy and fitness trainer. she and i have known each other through mutual friends since around 1999. but ray and i just happened to buy a house in the subdivision she lived in (by chance) back in 2004 and she and i have become really close since then. she's one of my best friends and i love her to death! she's always looking at the positive side of things and she cracks me up constantly.

then we have chris, anna's hubby.....

http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n187/punkin413/last.jpg

chris is a 32-year-old plumbing expert extraordinaire. he works a lot to support his family but when he's home he's an awesome daddy to luke. chris and ray have become great friends and they act like 15-year-old boys when they're together.......which usually results in some funny story to tell!

then we have luke-man.....

http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n187/punkin413/DSC04982a.jpg

luke is chris and anna's 4-year-old DS. luke is funny, crazy, sweet, outspoken and smart. he says and does the funniest things constantly - he keeps you on your toes....that's for sure! i can't wait to see how he reacts to the christmas festivities at disney world. it's gonna be so much fun!

for some reason, luke loves me. he loves "gray" too (that's what he calls ray), but i've been his "girlfriend" since he was old enough to talk and i just love that little boy to death! here he is hugging me after i gave him his 4th birthday present! :lovestruc

http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n187/punkin413/405967048208_0_ALB.jpg

so that's the cast. some of you may remember these introductions from my pre-TR from last year because originally anna and company had planned to go with us. if so, you've just been re-introduced! ;)

i will be back with more details about our trip (where will we eat? what are our plans? where are we staying?) later. for now, that'll do it for an introduction. i'm so excited to be seeing disney world for the first time during the holidays!!! :santa:

thanks for joining in! :grouphug:

Wow! You have had a lot of Disney trips this year. I think I've read all of your trip reports, but I guess they blurred together. I hope next year works out exactly as you are hoping for.

I definitely understand what you mean about visiting as a kid and then returning as an adult and becoming obsessed! I just accepted a new job and I admit that I measured the vacation policy in how it would effect my future plans for visiting Disney. Anyway, I'm looking forward to reading!

p.s. The Wendy comment cracks me up!

I am excited to read your report!!!

very cool! our issue is that we have to wait financially. i mean, if i got pregnant right now we'd deal and be okay. but being the planner that i am, i want to be more prepared. see, i'm self-employed which means i have to pay for my own insurance. i have health insurance, but all i can afford is basically just enough in case something major happens - no maternity coverage. DH could put me on his insurance but it takes such a huge chunk out of his check to add me. so we're waiting until i get assigned to my own judge so i'll have more of a guaranteed income and we can take more of a chunk out of his check. so i'm waiting on that. we're hoping it happens in 2009!

have fun on your trip!

Well heck did I at least make the first page?? :confused3

you made the first page!!!!! :woohoo:  what would my TR be without you on the first page????? princess:

I'm here for the ride too! Your TR's are always so well written and funny. It should be fun for you and Anna to plan together or does she want you to do it all? Who picks the restaurants? Will there be new Tshirts in your future...You have to find a cute Christmas one. :santa:
I wish you all the best next year. Its too bad the insurance is holding you back from being a Mom. I'm so glad I don't have to worry over health care anymore, since I returned back home. My husband paid a fortune for all of us. I didn't like the co-pays either. That was something I never got used to. And don't get me started on having to drive to ATL from Auburn so I could see a doctor. Thankfully we switched from Kaiser Permenente to Blue Cross just before I had Lexi(DD). I wouldn't have wanted to make the drive every week for OBGYN apts. It will all work out in the end. :wizard:
I look forward to all the updates and pics to come.

thanks so much! no, anna thinks it's so great that i'm planning it. she told me she feels bad that she hasn't helped but i'm like.....ARE YOU KIDDING? i live for this! she has given me her input on some things but for the most part i've done the planning. as far as the baby thing goes, it's very frustrating. i'm just trying to be responsible as far as the money goes. i'm only 32 - i know some people think that's old to have a baby but i've just never been in a rush. i like that ray and i have had 6 years of marriage together with just the two of us. and doing the work i do is really hard when i'm having to wait because i can't afford better health insurance and then you have all these women coming through the court system with their 6th baby on welfare. yeah.....thanks. i'm paying for you to have kids when i really want one and i can't afford it. :headache: sorry....i will get off my soapbox now! i can't believe you had to drive that far - that's crazy!

I'm here! You only have a little over 2 months to go!

Back to read all about your plans. I am looking forward to seeing how you get everything in, as I managed to convince DH that we should go for an extended weekend next December!

i hope i get everything in! we are concentrating on the christmas stuff - anything else is just icing on the cake! although i told ray that i MUST ride space mountain a few times because i hear it's going to be closed for at least a year, maybe longer. not that i'm returning to WDW in 2009 (as far as i know) but if i do i will certainly miss that ride!

I'm jumping on too...I've loved your other trip reports, and I can't wait to see holiday pictures :).

thanks! we will have lots of pictures this time. anna is the queen of pictures, so she'll probably take as many as i do and i will have copies of all those too! :thumbsup2

Hi Dawn,
I love the Olin Mills pics too funny. You and (Grey :lmao: kids are so funny) I mean Ray are such a cute couple. I can't wait to see your Christmas pics, there is no place better than Disney World at Christmas, you will love it. So, where are your ADR's? where are staying, can't wait to find out.:cool1:

so trip details.....here we go!

originally we had booked our trip for wednesday, december 3rd through monday, december 8th. then as i was laying in bed one night, playing on the internet, to my horror i realized that the ABC christmas parade taping was on december 6th.......:scared1: this was to be our magic kingdom day!!!! no other day would work for our schedule. there was NO WAY i was going to fight the crowd that's there that day for the taping, so after much discussion with anna and frustration and complaining on my part, we rescheduled our vacation to wednesday, december 10th through monday, december 15th. thank goodness our condo was still available for those dates!

which brings me to my next topic - where are we staying????

since this trip is a budgeted trip, we are staying -- be prepared to be shocked -- OFF SITE! shocking, i know. but i wanted to be able to stay together and with the ability to have decent breakfasts/late night meals and snacks. the only option for those things is to rent DVC points. and believe me, i would've LOVED to have stayed at VWL or BWV or even at SSR again, but there's no way we could afford that. it just wasn't practical for us. we had already spent a shi-ton of money on our april/may vacation and even if we'd had it, i just couldn't justify doing it again this time.

also, another consideration i had to remember - we are going to be with a 4yo. because of this, EMH is not really a factor to us. i know luke can't do those late nights, so the fact that we won't be able to go to EMHs like we normally do really wasn't a concern. AND another thing - we can't get the DDP if we stay off site.....HOWEVER, i still have my DDE card that doesn't expire until may 2009. so we can get 20% off our TS meals and some CS meals with that. okay......that's it! we're staying off site!

so....i got on the internet and started looking at condos around disney world. i found a property owner that was big on disney. he had numerous condos with different decor and amenities. we settled on one called "hemingway's animal kingdom." it's decorated with hemingway-ish decor (bamboo, wicker, tropical plants, warm colors - it's great - his wife is an interior decorator) and it's only 3 miles from disney! i looked it up on the map - great location. we will be entering disney from the animal kingdom side and it's literally 5 minutes away. :thumbsup2

here's a list of amenities:

~1,400SF of beautiful, new living space
~3 bedrooms, 2 Baths
~Vaulted ceilings, privacy and spaciousness are afforded by this second floor home
~Large flat screen TV, soft new couches, vaulted ceilings and bamboo paddle fans make this a perfect retreat.
~Hand carved king-size sleigh bed in master bedroom suite. Private bath, cable TV/DVD and French doors to a beautiful balcony with table and chairs to enjoy the views for your morning cup of coffee, a candle-lit dinner, or just to relax after a long day at the parks
~Second bedroom has two sets of bunk beds (4 twin size beds), cable TV/DVD, games, books, free movies the children will adore
~Third bedroom in white 'beach wash' decor is “fit for the queen” with a new queen-size bed, cable TV/DVD
~Direct-connect high speed Internet!
~Fully applianced, fully 'tooled' kitchen - even fresh coffee!
~TWO magnificent heated pools
~Two hot tubs
~Huge beach-sand volley ball court
~Tennis court
~BBQ’s
~Game room
~Playground with swings and slides
~Fitness center
~New washer and dryer in the home
~Laundry detergent and fabric softener
~Iron, ironing board, Vacuum cleaner
~Paper towels, napkins, paper products
~Windex, soaps, dish detergents, etc.
~Waffle iron
~Every conceivable amenity from tooth brushes to Advil. Just bring your clothes!
~Large screen cable TV with DVD's in L/R and all bedrooms
~Ice cold central air conditioning

looks good to me! and the best part: IT'S ONLY $109/NIGHT!!!! and we're splitting that with anna and family! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

i have spoken with the man who owns the property and he's SUPER friendly. he's all about disney which, for some odd reason, makes me feel better about staying off property. he even sent me a "free guide to disney world" as a PDF file. it was cute! i already knew everything in there and i probably can correct a few things, but it's still a cute idea for non-DIS-informed guests! ;)

here are some pictures for you.......i'm excited about this place!!!

It looks very nice. I'll be interested in hearing your opinion of the differences in on-site and off-site trips after this. Someday, when all of my kids have kids, we may consider getting a big house for all of us on some of our longer trips.

Luke will have fun climbing on all those beds.
Are you and Ray the 'sleighbed' room or the 'fit for a queen' room?

I hope you get a nice Christmas tree, too! It will be nice to see Disney World at Christmas and maybe get some special holiday things to decorate your own home with. I'm sure we'll be buying some Christmas things on our Thanksgiving trip.

Half of our June trip was spent with 11 other family members (8 adults and 7 kids in all) and we stayed in a 6 bedroom home about 15 minutes from WDW. It was SO nice having all that space for our large group. The adults could hang out together while the kids played in the bedrooms or family room. When you consider what 4 rooms on-site would have cost plus the cramped space, this was definitely the way to go when with a larger group!

The condo looks nice, I guess Luke can have a different bed each night. That's what I would do

First of all, that picture cracked me up. Before I even read what you said about Olan Mills, it totally reminded me of some of the promotional posters for "Step-Brothers", w/Will Ferrel, where they have that Olan Mills look. hilarious.

And, what a great deal on the condo! It's beautiful! I can't wait to read about it. I might have to look into that, we're looking for some cheap places to stay in February.

I loved your family picture with your doggies! They are sure cute!

thanks! i love my doggies so. they're both asleep next to me on the couch right now. :goodvibes

hopefully this will work out. according to the guy who owns it, "we'll never stay on property again." i highly doubt that! but it's nice to have the option to save money and stay off site if the perks of staying on site aren't that important for your trip.

I love the pictures where you're staying. It looks really nice and the list of amenities is super long. It sounds like it really includes everything.

thanks! i'm excited about it. i hope it's as nice as it looks.

Very Hemmingway. Luke'll love the 4 beds!

i know! i wonder if he'll sleep in a different one each night and then pick his favorite on the last night?

It looks very nice. I'll be interested in hearing your opinion of the differences in on-site and off-site trips after this. Someday, when all of my kids have kids, we may consider getting a big house for all of us on some of our longer trips.

i hope it's as nice as it looks. i will definitely miss the "magic" of staying on site but i'll live. ;) i think the thing i'll miss the most is the friendliness of the CMs. we don't have staff here so i don't have to worry about running into any rude non-disney-like people! i don't know which bed is ours yet - it depends on the layout of the place. we will want to be the furthest away from the main living area because i know how kids get up super early and like to watch TV and that will wake up ray. ray doesn't like to be woken up early on vacation. so we will take the room furthest away. i don't care which one we get - as long as it's a halfway comfy bed! who are we kidding - i sleep like a baby after a day at disney world even if i'm sleeping on a block of wood! :rotfl: oh, and don't worry - we will definitely be purchasing some disney christmas things!

Hey Dawn I'm Here 2! So Excited for you that you get to see Disney during Christmas time! :goodvibes

hey, lauren! glad you made it over here, you newlywed, you! i can't wait to sit down and look at your DL pics. welcome home, by the way!

Hi there Dawn, I'm here too. I'm so happy about seeing Disney at Christmas time. We are going late Nov early Dec next year so I get Disney at Christmas too.

i'm really excited about it! so is anna. ray and chris.....well......not yet. but they will get there! they both want to go - they just don't talk about it like we do. luke has been talking a good bit about it, too. i showed him my DHS block party video from our trip last month and he got really excited about that!

Hey- our trips will overlap a bit. So if some crazy woman comes up to you randomly in the parks don't be alarmed... I'm not a stalker... just one of your fans. ;)

i thought so too! nope, not a typo. $109/night. that's what it is year round except for like 12/20 - early january (or something like that) then it goes up a little bit. PLEASE feel free to say hello if you see me. i will go check out your TR to see if i see a pic of you so i can keep my eye out for you too!

Half of our June trip was spent with 11 other family members (8 adults and 7 kids in all) and we stayed in a 6 bedroom home about 15 minutes from WDW. yeah, i think it will be nice to have our own space and privacy. anna tends to cook breakfast so it will be nice for her to have a kitchen. ray and i aren't big breakfast eaters but of course i'll eat if someone's cooking! plus it'll be nice to have a nice big couch to spread out on and watch some late-night stacy when we get back from the parks! did you know that stacy is on all over orlando? i thought it was just a disney thing until i saw her at the howard johnson last april on our first night! oh, and i'd totally do that too about the beds. maybe he can sleep on a different bed every night and then pick his favorite on the last night!

The place looks awesome! We stay offsite too because my parents own a timeshare. As magical as it would be to stay onsite, there are definitely some benefits to being off.

really the only thing i think i'll miss are the friendly CMs that disney is known for. but with this place you don't have to deal with staff because it's privately owned. i really won't miss the busses - we always drive and when you have a car sitting nearby, the busses are just useless. using a car cuts about 20 minutes off our trip to and from the parks!

The place looks great!!! I wish that they had places like that on property that were affordable!! (affordable for me anyway) It's all relative. You guys are going to have a great time. I can't wait to someday see Disney at Christmas time.

seriously! to get a 3-bedroom villa at a DVC resort is CRAZY outrageous. and believe me - i'm not knocking DVC because i'll probably buy in one day. i just can't afford it at this point.

Oh my gosh, Dawn that condo looks awesome!!!!! Will you please PM me the website where you found it??

i will be sending you a PM shortly!

glad you thought our picture was amusing because i do too! oh, and have you seen "step-brothers"? HILARIOUS! raunchy but really funny. DON'T TOUCH MY DRUM SET!!!! :rotfl2: i'm glad i found the condo - i will let you know how it goes!

by the way, i saw you guys stayed at FW in your signature pic. how was it? ray and i are thinking of selling our 1997 volkswagon cabrio and buying a pop-up camper with the money. we kept the cabrio because it's a convertible and it was paid for - fun car to have in nice weather. but we've driven it once in 12 months. DH would definitely rather have a camper. and we both agree if we get one that we'll be taking the doggies down to FW sometime soon!

Wow that condo is gorgeous! With you and Anna splitting the cost it is cheaper than staying at a value. I really like the "Animal Kingdom" theme. :lovestruc

i know! it's crazy. i couldn't believe the cost but that's about average for condos in that area. :thumbsup2

cool! i love helping plan disney trips. it's like my hobby now. when my sister went with her boyfriend in july, she had called me in april to tell me they were going and she needed help with planning. well, my brother just happened to be at my house when she called and after we hung up i got all my stuff out (lots of scrap paper for charts that i always make and re-make, my passporter, my laptop, etc.) and started working on it and he was just absolutely frightened that i was so methodical about it. :lmao:

i will PM you the website for the guy. the mods apparently don't like it when we post any sort of website on here so i've been trying to avoid that.

oh, if we could've changed around our schedule, we would've and i wouldn't have changed our dates. but we only have 4 days to do all 4 parks. i REQUIRE a full day at MK (in addition to MVMCP) since it's my favorite and the other 3 days we were there wouldn't work for MK because all three of them were MVMCP nights. so we couldn't get a full MK day in. plus we didn't want to buy park hoppers because this is a budgeted trip. so it's 1 park per day for us. i think going to epcot or any other park that day would be fine. :thumbsup2

THE PLAN

so now we've come to the portion of my pre-TR where i tell you what the plan is....as of right now. as all true DISers know, these things seem to have a way of changing!

wednesday, december 10th
this is our driving day. no one took off work that day (except for anna who cancelled her evening fitness class). our goal is to leave our houses by 5:00 and hit the road. if we do so we should be at our condo around midnight, 1:00 a.m. at the latest. we're taking separate cars. we could all fit into one but i don't think it would be comfortable and ray and i move at a different pace than anna and family, so it's a better idea to have two cars. we will, however, only be taking one car to the parks just because it's silly to have to deal with parking two cars.

thursday, december 11th
~first of all, we're sleeping in! we will all be tired from the drive down and not getting in until late.
~we plan to leave the condo by 10:00-ish and head to the boardwalk to see the christmas decorations.
~we will probably have a very light and very early lunch either at the boardwalk bakery, one of the snack stands on the boardwalk or from spoodles pizza window. hopefully the weather will be nice and we can sit on the boardwalk to eat our lunch!
~we'll then head over to the beach club to see their christmas decorations, then head to beaches and cream where we'll all split a KITCHEN SINK!!! yum. (hence the very light lunch.)
~to epcot we go!
~we'll hit future world first. i told anna there's no way we'd get to do everything there, so we're gonna concentrate on soarin, nemo, test track and possibly SE.
~we'll then head to world showcase. my goal is to be in world showcase by 2:00-ish. we want to concentrate on seeing some of the christmas storytellers! i think we'll probably start in canada.
~we have a VERY late lunch ADR at teppan edo. at first i didn't like this time but now i think it'll work out well. it will give us a big meal in the middle of the day and a nice break from walking. plus i'm sure luke will be ready for an afternoon nap in his stroller after his belly's full! and by the time illuminations rolls around we can get something small to eat (nachos, anyone?) while we're waiting.
~i plan to watch illuminations at 9:30 from norway. i have heard that's a good viewing spot.
~we will take our time walking out of the park. i really want to get some good pictures of the christmas tree and the area between WS and FW and we'll be passing that on the way out.

friday, december 12th
~breakfast in the condo, then leave for DHS!
~of course we won't get to see everything at DHS in one day (that's pretty much impossible) so we will concentrate on several things: TSM, ToT, RnRC, B&tB, the car stunt show, magic of disney animation (if we have time), the little mermaid. i think anna and family will probably want to see the disney playhouse show too. of course we want to see the block party - that's a must! i'm the only one in our party that has ever seen it.
~we have a lunch ADR at sci-fi dine-in theater. i figure after we're done eating it will be time to find a spot for the block party, so that will work out well.
~fantasmic is at 7:00. now i have to mention this. mousefest is going on while we're there this trip. this is the only time that our schedule coincides with theirs. they are planning on attending DHS this night. so i think fantasmic might be a little crowded, but we plan on sitting in the back anyway (in order to get out of there quicker) so i don't think it's a big deal. we will probably have the boys go fetch dinner from a CS while we're waiting for the show to start.
~after fantasmic, we will head over to see the osborne lights. i can't wait for this!!! i hear it's just amazing. the park closes at 8:00 that night but i've read that they keep the lights on an hour after park closing, so we'll have plenty of time.

saturday, december 13th
~breakfast in the condo, then head to MK (my favorite place in the world)!!!!! :goodvibes
~i didn't want to do MK on a saturday, but it was our only option. there are MVMCP every other night we're there.
~we will just take our time today...no plan necessarily for the first part of the day - just enjoy ourselves!
~we'll have lunch at a CS (not sure where).
~the castle lighting show starts at 5:45, so we'll be sure to see that.
~we have a dinner ADR at kona cafe, so after the castle lighting we'll head for the exit and hop on the monorail for that. tuna oscar, here i come!!!!
~after dinner, we will ride the monorail to the GF and see the awesome christmas decorations i've heard about there.
~back to MK for wishes at 9:00 and spectromagic at 10:00. the park closes at 11:00 that night.

sunday, december 14th
~no breakfast in the condo today! instead we will wake up and head to AK!
~we have a late breakfast ADR at tusker house for the character meal that morning. so we may try to get an attraction or two in before then, depending on what time we arrive.
~after breakfast we will just enjoy the park! we'll probably have a late lunch at flame tree.
~the jingle jungle parade is at 3:45 and we'll be sure to see that.
~we'll leave AK probably right after the parade and head to WL to see the beautiful christmas decorations there!
~we will then head to MK for MVMCP!!! :santa:
~dinner at a CS that night at MK during the party.
~say goodbye to MK and try not to cry. :(

monday, december 15th
~eat breakfast in the condo and pack and be sad. :sad1:
~head over to DTD before we leave for some shopping and lunch at WPE!
~hit the road.

i really have no right to be sad. i know i'll be back and next time hopefully i'll be sharing disney world with my child! :goodvibes

so that's it - that's our schedule. i also have an alternative schedule in case of a forecast of bad weather on sunday night. i will post that later.

i do have a question for you guys. because we're not taking breaks in the middle of the day, anna wants to rent a stroller, probably a double one so luke will have room to lay down and nap if he wants to. he generally is getting to the age where he's fine without one, but she'd like to have the option. as far as renting a stroller goes, is that something she'd want to reserve ahead of time or do you just get one when you get there? i have no idea how that works. any help would be appreciated! ;)

Your plans look great. I love the first day. On our last trip we went to the Boardwalk and it's just so relaxing there. What is Mousefest? As far as the stroller goes, I think you just go get one when you need one, no need to reserve.

Do you know what I am most excited about seeing on your plans, Dawn? That you are all planning on eating a Kitchen Sink! I am super excited about that one! :rotfl: It doesn't take much to amuse me.

You just rent the stroller when you get there -- I don't think you can even reserve it if you wanted to -- I am trying to remember if you can do a length-of-stay kind of thing though -- I will see what I can find out. It's been awhile since we did a stroller (2004).

Strollers are available for rent at a variety of locations throughout Disney Theme Parks, Water Parks, and the Downtown Disney® Area. Quantities are limited, and subject to availability. Double-passenger strollers are not available for rent at the Downtown Disney® Area.

The stroller rental fee is $15.00 per day for a single-passenger stroller and $31.00 per day for a double-passenger stroller. A $100 credit card deposit is required per stroller rented at the Downtown Disney® Area. The rented stroller must be returned to the original rental location to receive a credit card deposit refund.

For Guests who require a stroller rental for multiple days, we offer a Length of Stay rental ticket where you make a one-time payment transaction for as many days of rental that you will need. Single-passenger strollers are available for $13.00 per day and double-passenger strollers for $27.00 per day. Upon visiting a Theme Park, simply show your receipt at the stroller rental location and you will be expedited through the queue with little or no wait time.

Wow that was a big price jump since I rented a stroller (2004 for me too). I think for my double stroller it was $10 a day and they gave you $1 back in Disney dollars when you returned it and no credit card deposit either.

The condo sounds and looks great! We are staying offsite for the first time in December on our girls trip - coulnd't beat the price for the space! I'm curious to see how it feels to stay offsite - our townhouse is decorated with a Disney theme also and even has a private splash pool.

Plans look so fun! I wish I could get one extra day in for our trip, but I can't swing 3 days out of school. No Park Hopper to save on money. We could only do MK during the MCMVP, but I think we'll end up skipping AK instead simply because the others have more "Christmasy" things. I seem to be forgetting that our trip is over a year away! by the way, i saw you guys stayed at FW in your signature pic. how was it? ray and i are thinking of selling our 1997 volkswagon cabrio and buying a pop-up camper with the money. we kept the cabrio because it's a convertible and it was paid for - fun car to have in nice weather. but we've driven it once in 12 months. DH would definitely rather have a camper. and we both agree if we get one that we'll be taking the doggies down to FW sometime soon!

Oh yes, we saw it this summer. Pretty gross, but Will Ferrell is the man. SO funny.

Ft. Wilderness is awesome!! DH and I plan on buying a camper sometime in the future too...either a popup or another small camper. Its such a great thing to do together, esp w/your pets!! They'd love it there! They have a new dog run there too, very cool!

I was looking at condos myself after a co worker rented one with a private pool. It was gorgeous, but I am on the fence. THE ALTERNATE PLAN

so being the efficient DISer that i am, i came up with an alternate plan in case of bad weather on our planned MVMCP night. i have read that if you attempt to trade your party tickets at least a day ahead of time that they will allow you to do so in most cases, as long as the party you're trading for isn't sold out. so i figure if they are calling for DEFINITE rain on sunday night (our original MVMCP night), we will switch around our schedule so that we can go friday night instead. of course this means that we'll need to know about the sunday weather by thursday. so the only reason we'd actually have to do this is if they are just basically calling for DOWNPOURS on sunday night. everyone knows how the florida forecast changes so often and scattered showers are constantly a part of it!

anyway, here's the alternate plan. i'm not including all the little details i did when i posted our itinerary before. our plans will remain the same - it's just the order we do them in that will change.

wednesday, 12/10 will remain the same

thursday, 12/11
~sleep in/breakfast in condo
~DHS
~lunch at sci-fi dine-in theater
~block party at 3:00
~dinner at a CS
~fantasmic at 7:00
~osborne lights

friday, 12/12
~breakfast in condo
~AK (i want an ADR at tusker house for the breakfast on this day, but there's nothing available right now. i'm continuing to check every now and then though, so that could be added to this day.)
~lunch at a CS
~jingle jungle parade at 3:45
~WL to see Xmas decorations
~MVMCP at MK tonight w/ dinner at a CS

saturday, 12/13 will remain the same

sunday, 12/14
~boardwalk to see Xmas decorations.
~either have pizza at spoodles window or late breakfast/early lunch at boardwalk bakery OR…walk to beach club to see Xmas decorations - breakfast at cape may character breakfast & ice cream at beaches & cream (this all depends on tusker house - if i get tusker house then i'll cancel this breakfast and we'll just have lunch somewhere on the boardwalk before ice cream at beaches & cream, then teppan edo below.)
~Epcot - first FW, then WS
~maybe very late lunch/early dinner at teppan edo
~illuminations at 9:30

monday, 12/15 will remain the same

hopefully we will not be using this alternate plan as i prefer our original one. but i also don't want to pay 50 bucks extra to walk around MK in the rain at the party! so we will have to see what mother nature decides. ;)

Good call on making an alternate plan. When I went to MNSSHP last year, it POURED the whole time. I still had fun, but almost all of the special character appearances were canceled. And the parade was almost canceled. But we were determined to stick it out because we spent 50 dollars each on those tickets!!!

I'll have to mark my calendar for Friday 12/12 and the Jingle Jungle Parade. I love that parade! It'll be almost time for dismissal at our school on a Friday, so I can just imagine the fun of the parade as I dance my way out of there for the weekend!

And after that you're going to Wilderness Lodge to see that beautiful lobby all dressed up for Christmas! That will be a nice afternoon for me...uh, you. :)

Hopefully, you'll be able to have a very nice MVMCP evening. Average rainfall in FL in December is like two inches, so I doubt they're all gonna come on the one night you've chosen for your party. Definitely a good call on making an alternate plan. Rain, heavy rain especially, can make people prettyyyy cranky (even at WDW) so it's good that you have a back up. Keeping my fingers crossed that you won't have to use it though! :thumbsup2

What a true planner. Hopefully you don't need to use the alternate plan B. You have been lucky all year, I'm sure the rain will stay away.
Do you plan to wear a Christmas hat to the party? You really need to get Luke a cute one for the holiday pics. :santa:

Good call on making an alternate plan. When I went to MNSSHP last year, it POURED the whole time. I still had fun, but almost all of the special character appearances were canceled. And the parade was almost canceled. But we were determined to stick it out because we spent 50 dollars each on those tickets!!!

well, i don't KNOW that they'll let us trade tickets if they are calling for bad weather on sunday. but it's worth having another plan if they do!

I think it's a great idea to have Plan B! :thumbsup2 Hope you get your Tusker House Ressies. Is that where they moved the character breakfast to?

yep, that's where it is now. and i've heard good things about it as far as the food goes. i know it's donald, mickey and goofy but i'm not sure about who else is there. we just mainly wanted mickey.

Good thinking to have an alternate plan, but I hope you don't have to use it! :thumbsup2

I will keep my fingers crossed that you manage to snag a Tusker House ressie -- that was one of our favorite places that we ate last summer.

cool! did you guys have breakfast there? the breakfast menu looks really good. i'm excited to try some unusual things, but i'm glad they have traditional american breakfast stuff too. my main requirement was biscuits and gravy for ray. that's all he will eat for breakfast! he almost never eats breakfast which is probably a good thing - having biscuits and gravy every morning would not be a good idea for his cholesterol!

I'm not an official weather forecaster, and I've never played one on TV, but I'm predicting that all will go smoothly for your original plans.

well, we'll only be at the jingle jungle parade on friday 12/12 if we have to go with plan B. but you can still mark your calendar because if we stick with our original plan, we'll be enjoying the block party bash at DHS when you're getting out of school for the weekend that friday! :thumbsup2 i'm hoping you're right about not getting all the rainfall in one night!

Definitely a good call on making an alternate plan. Rain, heavy rain especially, can make people prettyyyy cranky (even at WDW) so it's good that you have a back up. Keeping my fingers crossed that you won't have to use it though! :thumbsup2

me too! i can deal with a little rain but not constant downpours. my pour sister had to deal with that this summer and she said it was horrible.

What a true planner. Hopefully you don't need to use the alternate plan B. You have been lucky all year, I'm sure the rain will stay away.
Do you plan to wear a Christmas hat to the party? You really need to get Luke a cute one for the holiday pics. :santa:

oh, i will definitely have on some christmas headgear! i'm gonna wait until i get there though and see what they have to offer before i buy anything. i'll probably end up with some mickey ears with a santa hat on them! i'm sure anna will have something cute for luke!

We did eat breakfast there, and the atmosphere and the characters (Daisy, Donald, Pluto, Mickey, and Goofy) all decked out in their safari gear were very cool. They have the BEST juice -- a blend of various fruit juices that our waiter called Jungle Juice! The food was definitely what I would call traditional American more than anything else -- they had some different quiches, omelets, bobotie, and pap for the African part. Definitely worth eating there -- we were full until our Yak and Yeti reservation for dinner (our breakfast ressie was at 8:00).

i can't wait! your TR last year was a big influence on us wanting to go during this time of year!

Awww.....glad I could help! You're going to LOVE it.....it's such a great time to visit!!! :thumbsup2

Good thinking on the alternate plan, just in case! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you for no rain. Just about every year that we have gone in Dec. there has been a threat of rain for at least one day. However, out of all of our visits, we only received a light rain for about 5 min. one night and then it subsided. And last year, it rained briefly one day and soon stopped. I bet your stay will be great!!!

so i've given you our plans and all the info on the trip. what more is there to a pre-TR really besides shopping and any changes that we end up making???

PAST TRIPS!!!!!!!

first i will start with mine. the only pictures from trips i have as a kid are from our 1992 trip, which is the last one i took for 15 years until our may 2007 trip. my dad has the pics from our other trips and i actually only have a few from this one. i was 15, my sister was 8 and my brother was 5.

in mexico at epcot......

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/disFile0014.jpg

this picture cracks me up! we were standing in front of a water fall in canada for a picture and were completely surprised by the water hitting us right as my dad took the picture!

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/File0029.jpg

look - no lines for the characters! that would be madness. i'm glad it's more organized now.

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/File0027.jpg

i think this was taken in frontierland?

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/File0028.jpg

that's all i have from that trip. i really need to get with my dad and get the pics from our previous trips and scan them in.

------------------------

here are the pics my stepmom sent me that i'm adding in!

brooke, brett and goofy!

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/File0030.jpg

at the gallows. look at how i'm holding brett up!

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/File0031.jpg

funny that i had to hold him up because now he's 6'5"!!!! check out how much taller he is now! he TOWERS over me.

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/disPicture011-1.jpg

as long as we're sharing present pictures, here's brooke with pluto last july. she's grown up too!!! :sad1:

brett on space mountain....his first time!

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/File0036.jpg

there's a funny story to go with this one. this was his first time on space mountain. he was 5 years old and very nervous, but was insisting that he ride it. now keep in mind that this was 1992 and brett was a HUGE michael jackson fan. i can't tell you how many times i've seen the movie "moonwalker." anyway, on the incline i heard this little voice singing, "heeeee heeeeee" behind me. it was brett singing like michael jackson! he was so nervous and he's silly when he's nervous, so he was just trying to ease his nerves! :lmao:

at epcot in france....

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/File0037.jpg

as i said, he was a huge MJ fan....

I loved the old pictures of your trips. They reminded me of my first trip to MK back in the early 80's. I remember that the characters were just out wandering and you just went up to them. I also kept a map that I had the characters sign because I didn't have an autograph book, not even sure they had autograph books back then. Great memories!
I sure hope you don't have to use the back up plan, but at least you have one. That's the sign of a good vacation planner.

i can deal with a little rain. i have been very lucky with weather at WDW and i hope my luck holds out. every trip i've taken we've always had only like a 1/2 day of rain, except for the one ray and i took in april/may this year. we only had an HOUR of rain the whole time and it was while we were eating dinner at mama melrose. i hope we get as lucky this trip!

before i continue with an update on our past trips, i have to share this. i went by anna's house last night to return a movie i had borrowed and she and luke were drawing pictures on this little notepad he had. well, as anna and i always do, we started gabbing and lost track of time. as we were talking, luke was bringing me his drawings. finally i looked in my lap and i had about 30 different little drawings of random stuff. i asked him what i was supposed to do with all these and he said, "i want to give them to mickey mouse at disney world." i said, "well, okay. you can do that." he said, "no, dawn.......you have to give them to him for me!!!!!!!" :lmao: he's such a cutie.

okay......on with the update.

so the next trip down memory lane is the trip ray and i took in early may of 2007. it was a trip for our 5th wedding anniversary. neither of us had been to disney world in over 15 years, so we were both really excited. we only stayed 4 days, but it was four days filled with fun and i couldn't wait to get back! here are some pictures.

here we are at sci-fi dine-in theater. we will be returning there this trip and i'm excited about it!

they got married at miramar beach near destin last year. it was a BEAUTIFUL wedding and i'll share some pics with you (of course!). what was so cool is that the monarch butterflies were migrating to mexico and they were EVERYWHERE! you don't see them in these pictures but they were all over the place. one even landed on anna's finger while she and chris were taking post-ceremony pictures and the photographer got a few shots of it. i wish i could show you but the pics are copyrighted on her site.

Dawn - Thanks for the past pictures. I love that one of Luke looking at the castle as well. I so remember the herd of people trying to take a picture with the characters. My first trip to WDW was in 1978 (I was eight) and I remember my grandfather pushing me closer next to Donald to get my picture with him. Not fun at all but my mom has that picture so I can't show you. I need to get some of those pictures.

we looked at a townhouse that was decorated with disney stuff, but we got a better deal on this one. you'll have to let me know how it goes with your off-site experience. what are your dates? (you may have already told me and i've just forgotten.)

I am going with my friends Dec 4-7 (offsite condo) and then going back Dec 12-14 (WL) with my parents. I'm looking forward to experiencing the off-site thing - I guess I can't have an opinion until I try it and I've heard so many people who really like it. You can't beat the space for the $$.

All caught up with your report now. Great alternate plans! Never hurts to plan ahead - hopefully you won't need them but good to know they are there.

Love all the past trip pics! Gotta love the clothes from 1992!

The pic of you and Ray from Anna's wedding is gorgeous!!

i don't have time to respond to everyone right now, but i have a good reason why. a neighbor of mine called me today and she and her hubby are taking their kids to disney world december 19th - 24th!!!! it's a surprise for the kids for christmas. so i'm pretty much planning the trip for her because she has no idea where to start. they haven't made any ADRs yet. :scared1: luckily they only want like one or two character meals so maybe i can manage. they're staying off site so it will be pretty easy to come up with a plan - just avoid EMHs! anyway, off to plan!!! :woohoo:

i'm such a dork. :cool2:

You are not a dork. I have a lady at church who wanted to know what it would cost her family of 6 to go to Disney. I researched for 3 hours one Sunday what it would cost for her to stay on site/off site, flying/driving, and hoppers/non-hopper. I wrote it all down and gave it to her. It was for a week and there was only a difference of about $100 staying off site. It was fun for me, so NO you are not a dork. People who have never been there have no idea what to do. I know that they appreciate any help you can give them.

to anyone who lives in georgia or anywhere near here.....

please help! i found this little guy in the park today and he's a stray. he ran right up to me and gave me kisses - he's super friendly! i took him to the vet and they think he's about 1 year old. i had him dewormed (no evidence of worms but just in case because i have other doggies) and i also got his rabies shot. he's not neutered. PLEASE let me know if you're interested or know of anyone who might be! if we don't find him a home within a week or two, i will be forced to take him back to the vet and they will give him to the humane society to hopefully find him a home. he's so sweet and deserves a nice family to love him! we would love to keep him but we already have two doggies (beagles - what a coincidence!) and don't have the room for a third. if you want more pictures, let me know. i took this one with my phone but am happy to take more and send them.

What a gorgeous pic that black and white one is!

I'm looking forward to your PTR... I can't decide between Halloween and Christmas at WDW next year so I'm living vicariously through everyone else in the meantime!

thanks! i will have been lucky enough to attend both MNSSHP and MVMCP this year - what a lucky girl i am! i hope i can help you decide!

Congratulations to Anna and Chris!

I remember last year when we hadn't "met" Anna yet, and you were telling us about going to your friends' wedding - and then those beautiful pics! Thanks fore sharing again - more fun now that we have gotten to "know" them.

wow......you have a good memory! that was such a great day and a beautiful ceremony.

Great pics of trips from the past. I love the longer hair, very pretty. I will have to go look at my childhood pics at Disney. I remember an Orange bird character who I just fell in love with.

Happy Anniversary Anna & Chris !!! May you share many more romantic days and nights on the beach. :bride: :love2: :groom:
Your wedding was beautiful on the beach. Luke was so handsome with his cool sunglasses on. I wish you all the best...Cheers !!

thanks! my stepmom is going to be sending me some pictures from our trips in the '80's, so i'll probably have more once i get them scanned in. luke's hilarious - he's the only kid i know who LOVES to wear sunglasses!

Saw you over on Heather's trippie....

Our December trips cross over for a couple of days. My trip starts on the 13th. I can not wait. The condo looks great. Lots more space than the resorts at Disney!

My fave pics in here so far...the one of you at Epcot with Tink in front of the PP topiary...and the Dumbo ride. :goodvibes So cute!

I hope to be drinking at Epcot this time! I can't wait to see all the countries decorated! Here's to great weather in December! :wizard:

thanks so much for joining in!!! if you haven't joined our current TR, you should go check it out. it's linked below - the vandy girls one. we're only on day 2 so you haven't missed much! if you see me at disney, say hello!!!!

Dawn those are such great pictures!! You and Ray take good pictures all the time!! I have never seen a bad one! :goodvibes I love the one at Narcoosee's and on Dumbo!!!

oh, i have bad ones, i just don't put them on here. :lmao:

I love seeing all the pictures. They're always so good. Seriously, do you ever take a bad picture? :goodvibes Seeing you celebrate your anniversary makes me excited for January. My DH and I are celebrating 13 years by going to WDW without the kids. I saw your pics of Narcoosee's. We're eating there for the first time also.
Love the wedding pictures. I agree that the one with all three of them holding hands is my favorite also. :)

if you wanna see a bad picture of me go to the TR below from april/may 2008 and look at the one of me on the teacups at the end of day 1. it's hilarious! and kinda scary too. narcoosee's food is FABULOUS!!!! if you wanna see some pics go to the same TR i mentioned above and look at our day 3 installment with dinner at narcoosee's. there's an index in the front so it should be easy to find. congrats on 13 years!!!

Great Pics!!! I'm jealous that Anna got to go barefoot to her wedding! ;) No sore feet for her. The black and white ones are great.

i know! we were actually supposed to go in 1999 but ray got kidney stones the day before we were gonna leave, so we didn't go. then we were supposed to go on our honeymoon but ray got a new job like a month before that and because he was so new, he couldn't get a full week off, only a couple of days. so we took the money we had saved for disney and just went to savannah for a long weekend instead and spent our money on a bed and breakfast and lots of food and adult beverages! it wasn't disney but we had a blast.

Dawn, I love the black and white picture of you and Ray - it's gorgeous!

one more doggie wouldn't be so bad except that they'd all stay inside and that's just TOO MUCH! sorry to hear about your pug. ray's mom had a pug named percy (which they had way before the percy in pocahontas was around!) and she died about 5 years ago of kidney failure. they also have a beagle named lucy and after percy passed lucy would occasionally take something like a sock outside to where they buried percy and just lay it on top of the ground like she was just giving her a gift and reminding her she loved her. :sad1:

so onward we go to the next disney trip on our list - september 2007!

after our may 2007 trip i was hooked! we made plans to return a year later, but then my friend erin and i were talking about it and we decided to go in september 2007 during free dining to celebrate her 30th birthday. her birthday isn't really until november, but who cares??? and as an added bonus, this would be erin's first time to disney world! anyway, to make a long story short, we didn't get the free dining, but we did get to stay at OKW FREE with tara (eventer98) so the free dining didn't make a difference anyway! :thumbsup2 we drove down on a friday night after work and only had saturday, sunday and half of monday to enjoy WDW......:scared1: it was a short but fun trip though.

we didn't get checked in and into bed at OKW until about 2:00 a.m. and we had ADRs at kona cafe the next morning, so we only got about 4 hours of sleep and had a full MK day planned.... it was an adventure, to say the least! especially for tara who was about 3 months pregnant (i think)!

here's our building at OKW......

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/Picture001-4.jpg

my first encounter with tonga toast.....i was a goner!

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/Picture005-6.jpg

one of the best moments of the trip was seeing erin's face as we walked up to the MK. we took the monorail from the poly to MK and as we were walking down the ramp, the opening rope drop show was happening. when erin saw the characters she got really excited and was like, "OH MY GOSH.....THERE'S MICKEY MOUSE!!!!" i swear she teared up! :goodvibes it was great.

we met pluto just as we were walking into the park.

erin's first character!

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/Picture014-1.jpg

this was the first time i'd seen MK all decked out for fall. it was beautiful!

meeting the big cheese himself!

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/Picture056.jpg

EVERY time we'd get on a ride, erin would ask, "is this scary???" even on winnie the pooh! :lmao: during splash mountain tara and i would tell her that this was the big drop when we'd be going up to the little ones, then on the big one we said it was a small one. look at her face! :rotfl2:

we had dinner at crystal palace that night. here's an eeyore shot for erica and memom!

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/Picture080-1.jpg

this was my first character meal and i really loved it! the food was good and the characters were so sweet.

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/Picture074-2.jpg

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/Picture075-1.jpg

tigger was especially good. erin asked him to bounce and he did, then we said he looked like he was "raising the roof" when he was bouncing and he started to actually "raise the roof". it was great!

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/Picture081.jpg

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/Picture083.jpg

piglet was also great. she/he kept coming back to erin and giving her kisses on the back of her head - scared her to death!

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/Picture087-1.jpg

Keep the dog! ;) Our 3rd dog kinda fell onto us as well...I was visiting my sister in CA. She had basically starved her dog and left her tied to a doghouse b/c of her ongoing mental issues. Not that it's an excuse. Anyway, I told her I was taking the dog. So I booked the dog a flight with me on Delta and brought her home. The vet in CA didn't think she would make the flight but she did. 3 years later she is actually a little overweight and our best behaved dog! You just never know..some things are meant to be!! :confused3

Any ideas for naming the puppy?!

the names we've come up with so far are jack, walker, wally, colt, ernie (which was luke's suggestion) and maple (because of his red head and finding him in the fall). but if ray's mom takes him then his nephew will probably name him. he's at our house right now hanging out with ray for the day because ray just bought the new guitar hero and he's been calling him zolo. if they decide to take him, he'll probably be gone when i get back from disney on ice today. but i won't be sad because he'll be 15 minutes away and i can see him whenever i want.

i have NOT had a good day. first off, we left in plenty of time to make it to the show. well, we get to our exit and traffic is STOPPED. so we decide to get off at another exit but then got turned around (which is the kiss of death in downtown atlanta) and it took us forever to get back around near phillips arena. the breast cancer 3-day was happening this weekend, along with some other stuff in centennial park, and it was MADNESS. the show started at 4:00 and we didn't get into the arena until 4:30. :sad2: as we found our seats the lion king portion was near the beginning. i texted memom to ask her how much we'd missed (she's seen it before) and i found out that we'd missed cars AND the little mermaid. :headache: i was NOT happy. so after the lion king, there was intermission and then the tinker bell stuff was the second half of the show. so basically we missed HALF of it by being 30 minutes late. not good.

THEN i get home and get on my computer to check my e-mail and it CRASHES. :scared1: i'm talking CRASHES HARD. i don't know what's wrong with it. i'm on ray's computer right now and he's messing with mine to see if he can figure it out. thank goodness he's in information tech as a career! he says i have spyware, which is weird because i usually avoid that kind of thing. not only is it annoying but that's my livelihood. i have sound files on that computer that if i lost, i could lose my job over. plus there's a 315-page hearing i'm working on right now that if i lost and had to re-type, i'd cry. so keep your fingers crossed for me.

obviously, i'm dealing with the computer issues first and foremost. so i will be back when i can to give you guys a report on disney on ice and share some pics with you. it may be awhile, depending on what happens with my computer. i'll be back as soon as i can.

i do back up but it's impossible to do that every single day after every single job i have with my sound files. i just don't have the time to burn CDs after court every day. i do it every couple of weeks. and this hearing was the ONLY document i didn't have backed up besides just some minor things. no, no noise. just a blue DOS screen flashed and then it kept trying to restart. ray is very good with computers and he just called a little while ago to tell me that the only thing he couldn't save off my hard drive were my saved e-mails in microsoft outlook. so that's not too horrible. i'm glad i have a husband that knows this stuff and can do it for free!

an update on....well, everything! we officially found the dog a home. ray's mom came and got him on sunday. they named him zolo (some cartoon character that ray's nephew likes) and he's doing really well so far. i'm glad he's somewhere where we can see him occasionally.

ray was able to salvage everything off my hard drive, so now he's reformatting my computer and we will just have to reload the software i need over the next few days. the only thing i lost was the saved e-mails i had on my microsoft outlook. that stinks but i can deal with it. i'm just glad i don't have to buy a new computer!

i will be reporting on disney on ice as soon as i can. i can't upload the photos right now because i'm using ray's computer and i want them to be on mine, so i don't want to have to upload them twice! so i'll be back with that later. it was a good show....what we saw of it anyway.

i'm like that on ToT! and don't be fooled - as soon as we go over the drop i grab the bar. i tried to keep my hands up in the air on EE last year and when i did, we went around the corner and my neck snapped to the side and wouldn't come back to normal for about 30 seconds. :scared1: scared the crap outta me! i'm getting too old. :sad2:

Dawn guess what? My work get tickets for things and this year it's Disney on Ice in January. I am so taking the kids or at least my DD. She'll love it but I think my boys would love it too so we all might be going. Anyway it was around 56 degres here yesterday but only the adults had a coat on, actually mine was a windbreaker. It was nice to have a warm Halloween for once. Glad the computer got fixed, yeah for Ray :cool1: . I have a question for ya but I'll pm you about it.

Yay! I'm so glad the puppy found a new home AND that you got your computer working! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

thanks! yeah, me too!

I'm glad Ray was able to get the important stuff off, and that he knows how to do that stuff. It could have easily cost $100 to recover/reinstall all of the data. I'm also glad that the hard drive itself didn't crash!

i know....i'm very lucky! the external hard drive he was using ended up messing up though. something about the arm wasn't working??? but he was able to take mostly everthing off of it and put it on an older desktop that we have. i only completely lost like 10 pictures. now i just have to transfer all that stuff back on my laptop hard drive!

while in college me and DW saw monster inc on ice, and finding nemo on ice, both very good shows, and also saw mickeys magic show a few years ago...that was pretty good as well..helps ease the disney blues in between trips.

definitely! it was just the dose i needed before we leave in 1 month, 1 week and 1 day! but who's counting???

Hey Dawn!!

I am glad you found the baby a home!!!

me too! i saw him today - he's so sweet!

Hi Dawn! I'm glad Ray could fix your computer - he's a Higglytown Hero! (that's disney, but you have to watch Disney Channel early in the am to catch it)

I'm so glad Zolo has a good home. I'll be waiting for your Disney Ice report!popcorn::

i have heard the higglytown term before, but i have no idea what it means!

:hmghost: Happy Halloween! :hmghost:

you too!!!!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN, DAWN! :maleficen

thanks! you too!

I think we got home to early to be in the cold! Hollie decided that she was done and she wanted to go home and watch a movie!!:lmao:
Oh, and here is a picture just for you!

http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b359/hlrababy/halloween/100_16891.jpg

she's soooooooo cute! i'm glad you guys got to come home early - it got so chilly here!

It was chilly here too, but not so bad that everyone needed to coat-up yet. (Of course we were home by 7:30...)

it got cold here as soon as the sun went down!

Glad your comptuer is fixed!! I was wondering where your updates went, but now it all makes sense! Glad your in-laws took the dog too!

thanks! i'm slowly getting back to "normal" as far as my computer goes.

We were home by 7:30, too! The kids filled their pumpkin trick-or-treat bags and were done. :rotfl:

that's great....better than being out late and freezing to death.

Wow that is cold! It was like 55 degrees or so here and I live on Long Island, I think our locations might have switched temeperatures

i know! so strange.

Happy Day After Halloween !!! We had warmer temps yeaterday, so I can't complain either. I guess mother nature gave us a break since we got snow earlier this week. Yuck !!
I loved the pics of puppy at the festival, glad he found a wonderful home and you can see him from time to time. You are so kind to take care of him, you are a good person. :thumbsup2
What a horrible time you had with your computer. You have a super hero for a husband, who saved the day. Lucky girl, I had to buy a new computer earlier this year. We are not that IT smart. I did get a laptop instead, so it turned out better in the end. ;)
Too bad about missing part of Disney on Ice. I remember how difficult ATL was to drive in. My SIL lives there and I don't know how she does it every day? :confused3 I used to get so confused with whether I was going to be merging from the right or left. I always drive in the middle just in case. Crazy, I'm glad I don't live there. ;)

oh, i'm glad i don't have to do it every day! i usually can find my way down there pretty well, but we just got turned around that day. yes, my husband is a super hero! i got a card that told him that yesterday. :goodvibes glad you guys had some good weather for a change!

Ohio was nice. The girls were princesses with shirts underneath, but no coats. Luke even sat outside with me to pass out candy. It is over 70 degrees here today.

oh, do you have pictures? if so, let me know if you've posted them somewhere else.

it was 67 degrees here yesterday! :rotfl:

how strange! it was pretty here today too but then got cold again as soon as the sun went down.

The weather sure is funny. It was quite nice and comfortable in Connecticut! Sorry it was so cold in Georgia!! :confused3

oh, well....i can't complain because usually i'm wearing short sleeves on halloween night!

I just found your pretrip!! i am loving this report!!

so i FINALLY have all my disney on ice pictures uploaded. i have lots of pictures, so be prepared for a few posts to fit them all in!

the show was at 4:00 last sunday. we left my house around 2:30, which is plenty of time to get to phillips arena, park and get inside the venue on a sunday afternoon. well, we made good time UNTIL we got downtown. the exit for the arena was completely backed up and traffic was sitting still. so we got off at a different exit and went a roundabout way to the arena, where we got turned around and when we eventually got back to the arena area, we were sitting in bumper to bumper traffic because the breast cancer 3-day event was going on that day at centennial park, which is right next to the arena. it was getting closer to showtime (right at 4:00, to be exact) and so chris, luke and i ended up getting out of the car in order to walk to the arena while anna sat in traffic and eventually parked the car. little did we know it was going to be quite a hike up hill past centennial park and around another block to get to the entrance.....and me in heels! :headache: my feet were NOT happy! and the worst part is that once we got up to the entrance, anna was there waiting on us! :sad2:

anyway, we made our way quickly to our seats and came in right as the lion king portion was starting. i texted memom because i knew she had seen the show before and said something like, "we're late. lion king is on. what did we miss?" she replied with, "our show was cars, the little mermaid, then the lion king, but hopefully yours is different." i asked the woman next to me during a scene change what we'd missed and she said cars and the little mermaid. :sad1: i was so upset but i didn't wallow in it because there's nothing i could do at that point. no one could control the traffic.

anyway, anna and i both took lots of pics so enjoy! if you read memom's TR you have seen a lot of this already.

then it was time for the tinker bell portion of the show! i have to say i was excited about this because tink's always been a favorite of mine, even when i was a kid. although i will say that if you're going to see this show, go buy the movie first! the movie wasn't out yet the day we saw this. i bought it yesterday and watched it last night and now this portion of the show makes WAY more sense to me! not that i didn't enjoy it - i just wasn't familiar with what i was watching. it was all very pretty though! and the movie, by the way, is really good. i figured it would be cheesy, but it's not and it's actually got some humor in it too. and the artwork in it is really pretty - i want to move to pixie hollow and live with terrence, the keeper of the pixie dust. the area he stays in is so pretty!

anyway, on with the show! here is tinker bell right after she's born from a baby's first laugh...

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/disney%20on%20ice/Picture051.jpg

the fairy queen comes down to explain that tinker bell has to figure out her talent....

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/disney%20on%20ice/Picture055.jpg

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/disney%20on%20ice/783214511308_0_BG.jpg

rosetta, a garden fairy....

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/disney%20on%20ice/Picture056.jpg

silvermist, a water fairy....

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/disney%20on%20ice/Picture058.jpg

iridessa, a light fairy....

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/disney%20on%20ice/Picture059.jpg

tink figures out she's a tinker fairy!

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/disney%20on%20ice/Picture070.jpg

meeting fairy mary, who is sort of the leader of the tinker fairies....

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/disney%20on%20ice/Picture076.jpg

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/disney%20on%20ice/944214511308_0_BG.jpg

the tinker fairies show tink what it means to be one of them....

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/disney%20on%20ice/Picture078.jpg

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/disney%20on%20ice/Picture082.jpg

tink learns that the tinker fairies don't go to the mainland to bring spring, so she decides she doesn't want to be a tinker fairy. here she's telling her friends that she wants help to try to be another sort of fairy.

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/disney%20on%20ice/Picture085.jpg

iridessa tries to teach her to be a light fairy by giving lightening bugs their glow....

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/disney%20on%20ice/Picture090.jpg

but it doesn't work out too well. tink just doesn't have the touch. by the way, one of the bugs backsides didn't light up!

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/disney%20on%20ice/Picture092.jpg

the infamous tinker bell pout!

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/disney%20on%20ice/127893511308_0_BG.jpg

this is videa (not sure if that's spelled right). she's a fast flying fairy and is not very nice.

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/disney%20on%20ice/Picture093.jpg

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/disney%20on%20ice/128604511308_0_ALB.jpg

anna looked at me and said, "is that amy winehouse???" :lmao: these aren't very good pictures of her so you probably can't tell, but she did resemble ms. winehouse, which is not exactly a compliment!

http://i320.photobucket.com/albums/nn360/Softball-Number-2-For-Life/Amy_Winehouse.jpg

videa convinces tink that if she can catch the sprinting thistles, then she can be a garden fairy. so she tries....

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/disney%20on%20ice/Picture096.jpg

and fails.....

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/disney%20on%20ice/Picture100.jpg

the chase caused so much damage that it ruined all the work the fairies had done in preparing for spring and now spring won't come. it's all tink's fault and she's devastated. but then terrence, the keeper of the pixie dust, convinces her that she should embrace her talent and be proud of who she is....

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/disney%20on%20ice/Picture103.jpg

terrence and tink had a solo....

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/disney%20on%20ice/Picture107.jpg

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/disney%20on%20ice/Picture108.jpg

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/disney%20on%20ice/Picture113.jpg

tink then comes up with an idea of how to bring spring. now they don't really explain this in the ice show, but when you see the movie you will it's because she invents all kinds of contraptions to help speed up the preparations....thus making her a true "tinker" fairy.

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/disney%20on%20ice/Picture118.jpg

spring is here!

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/disney%20on%20ice/Picture122.jpg

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/disney%20on%20ice/Picture147.jpg

tink does one last pass.....what a talented fairy!

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/disney%20on%20ice/Picture148.jpg

it was a good show, although i wish i would've seen the whole thing!

anna, luke and chris as we left our seats - chris is wearing luke's hat!

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/disney%20on%20ice/893474511308_0_ALB.jpg

as we walked down towards centennial park anna saw the sun peeking through the trees and wanted to get a "pretty" picture, but i think i kinda ruined it! :rotfl:

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/disney%20on%20ice/159255511308_0_BG.jpg

the fountains at centennial park were on and of course luke wanted to run through them, so chris took him down there so wouldn't get completely soaked.....

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/disney%20on%20ice/Picture152.jpg

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/disney%20on%20ice/Picture154.jpg

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/disney%20on%20ice/Picture156.jpg

an announcement came over the speakers and told everyone to exit the fountain area, that the show was getting ready to begin. so we stuck around to see what that was all about.

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/disney%20on%20ice/512265511308_0_BG.jpg

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/disney%20on%20ice/227775511308_0_ALB.jpg

it ended up being a water show to music - pretty cool! luke was in a dancing mood, which is ALWAYS entertaining!

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/disney%20on%20ice/652295511308_0_ALB.jpg

pictures just don't do him justice, so i uploaded a couple of videos i took with my camera. this is him dancing to "under the sea," kind of appropriate for the day! oh, and listen for him to say, "if we don't get outta here, we're gonna have to sleep in a hotel!!!!!!" he kept talking about staying in a hotel the entire time we were downtown. just very random, but hilarious!

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/disney%20on%20ice/th_Picture162.jpg (http://s285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/disney%20on%20ice/?action=view&current=Picture162.flv)

this video is of the finale....i wish i could get this excited over water!

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/disney%20on%20ice/th_Picture161.jpg (http://s285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/disney%20on%20ice/?action=view&current=Picture161.flv)

after that we left and drove over to a place on peachtree street called fresh to order. it's a little place that has REALLY good food for a reasonable price - you go up to the counter to order and someone brings it to you, so you're not just paying on the wait staff. anyway, i of course took food porn pics. i didn't use the flash though as to not be totally obnoxious. if you ever get a chance to eat here, go! it was really, really good. i think my steak was like $9 :thumbsup2

luke's kids chicken tenders, mac & cheese and carrots - and that yellow stuff on the right is honey mustard....

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/disney%20on%20ice/Picture039.jpg

anna's pork tenderloin with some sort of mango relish and sweet potatoes....

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/disney%20on%20ice/Picture042.jpg

chris's chicken and wild mushrooms and garlic mashed potatoes....

my bourbon steak, greens with balsamic dressing and sweet potatoes....

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/disney%20on%20ice/Picture045.jpg

i tasted everyone's food and it was all SO GOOD!

so that's our night. as much as i hated missing the beginning of the show, i really enjoyed what i saw. i would recommend it to you if you're thinking of going!!!!

i'll end this with a picture of a very happy little boy on the way home! :goodvibes

I'm glad you enjoyed the part of the show you did see. I hate that Luke missed cars, but it was good that he didn't know better. That little Tinkerbell flower hat that sticks out in some of your pictures is what Brooklynn looked like for a while. She put it off and on a few times. At one point, she saw the little girl in front of her wearing one, and she got a funny look on her face and said, "My hat?" in a 'why does that little girl have my hat' voice. Then we showed her that hers was under the seat, and she got it out and put it on for a while.

The food looks good, and water fountains and music always make for fun, so the day was still a hit, I know!

I'm glad Ray got the computer fixed and you lost only a few pictures. I'm sorry you had to lose any, but maybe Erica, um, Eureka?, has some of the ones you lost.

It does make a difference when the sun goes down, doesn't it?

The Disney on Ice show looks like it was alot of fun! It stinks that yall had to miss the beginning, but at least you didn't miss Tinkerbell! :)

Luke is too stinkin' cute! The video of him dancing had me cracking up. That boy can get down!

And all of the food looks DELISH! Yummm!

What a fun afternoon -- except for the getting lost and missing some of the show! Unfortunately, it is just too easy to get turned around downtown -- when we went to the Atl. Bot. Gardens that same day we got turned around because one of the streets (14th or 16th) was blocked off. Very frustrating.

Dawn the Disney on Ice show looks great. Sorry you guys got there late. Luke is so darn cute. Did you see in the video of him dancing that other little boy looking at him like - boy I wish I can dance as good as him and he even tries a little dancing himself. Your food looked delicious. I love sweet potatoes. I have one question - did you have a flash on your camera when you took pictures at Disney on Ice? I will take some pictures too and post them either here or on the peep thread.

You can now say that you leave for Disney World next month!!

you can too!!!! i see you have a TR i didn't even know about. i'm going over to check it out right now.

Dawn! That is cold for you! We usually have 32 and freezing rain for Halloween, but we had 50 and an unusually warm wind. :confused3 I hope it warms up againg for you.

Thanks for sharing your pics! I remember when I was a kid in Seattle, my parents used to take us to the Ice Capades - it was so beautiful! Another great day for Dawn and crew!

yeah, it's warm during the day here but as soon as the sun goes down, it's really cold. we usually don't weather quite this cold until later in november or even december.

YOU...and don't hold out on us - go on down to how many hours, too.

um....884 hours. but who's counting....really???? :rolleyes1

that's cute about brooklynn and her little flower hat. oh, the pictures i totally lost weren't disney pictures, but just some random ones of different things with redecorating the house. i did lose a few from our september trip but erica/eureka already knows about those and she's making copies for me. :thumbsup2

i'm usually good with finding my way downtown because i used to work down there, but we ended up at the world congress center and then there was a closed road that threw us off. :headache:

Dawn the Disney on Ice show looks great. Sorry you guys got there late. Luke is so darn cute. i didn't see that other little boy but i went back and watched - how cute! as far as my flash goes i did have it on but i put my camera on "snow" mode, which is described as "shoot whitish scene brightly." i figured that would work with the ice. i would love to see your pics!

so i got the first set of pictures scanned in that my stepmom sent me of our old disney pictures! this is from our october 1984 trip - my first trip to disney world! i was 8 years old. my sister was 11 months old. also in these pictures is my dad and my stepmom. these are so funny and i just loved looking at them when i got them in the mail from her!

me, my sister and my stepmom in front of the train station....

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/old%20disney%20pics/File0001.jpg

the first character i met - the big bad wolf!

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/old%20disney%20pics/File0002.jpg

everything looks the same except the trees in front of the castle are no longer there! that's me, my dad and my sister....

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/old%20disney%20pics/File0003.jpg

see me waving in front of the castle? anna says i need to recreate that shot this trip!

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/old%20disney%20pics/File0004.jpg

i had to include this one for erica!

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/old%20disney%20pics/File0005.jpg

okay....this was one moment i remember - meeting goofy!!! dad had bought me a goofy baseball hat so i was really excited to meet him.

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/old%20disney%20pics/File0006.jpg

and this is my FAVORITE picture from this trip. sooooo sweet! my baby sister just sat there in goofy's lap for like 10 minutes, just staring up at his big snout! he loved holding her and was really gentle with her - it was so sweet! ever since then my family has had a special bond with goofy!

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/old%20disney%20pics/File0007.jpg

dad trying on my goofy hat!

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/old%20disney%20pics/File0008.jpg

dad and my stepmom in the gallows.....

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/old%20disney%20pics/File0009.jpg

me trying to reach the gallows and my sister just being cute!

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/old%20disney%20pics/File0010.jpg

dumbo!

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/old%20disney%20pics/File0011.jpg

us meeting minnie. again, i'm so glad there are lines now. that rushing up and just kind of butting in when you *think* it's your turn would just stress me out!

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/old%20disney%20pics/File0012.jpg

this cracks me up! :rotfl: i knew there was some reason why i always seem to have fun with captain hook!

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/old%20disney%20pics/File0013.jpg

meeting donald! amazingly, i was only about a head shorter than him at age 8!

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/old%20disney%20pics/File0014.jpg

meeting the main mouse himself!!!!

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/old%20disney%20pics/File0015.jpg

so cute with the balloons!

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/old%20disney%20pics/File0016.jpg

trying on hats in adventureland. i thought maybe this was in mexico at epcot but we didn't go to epcot until '92. and my stepmom says we took that picture in adventureland.

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/old%20disney%20pics/File0017.jpg

so that's our 1984 trip....and my first memories of disney world! apparently october was a slow time of year then, too, because i don't see huge crowds in these pictures.

i will be back with our next trip in 1987 in a few days! :thumbsup2

Those are great! Baby sister is precious! Won't it be so fun when you and Ray go back with your own little one and take pictures like those? It will add a whole new element to your Disney trips!

Thanks for sharing those with us. The Goofy one is very cute. You look like you were just so happy to have him messing with you.

I can see your brother in that picture of your dad.

I would make fun of your dad's short shorts, but I know that in another twenty years, we'll be making fun of the shorts we wear today, so I better not. I could pull some short shorts pictures out, too, and even worse. I have some of my dad in the three piece leisure suits with the loud swirly shirts. Man, he was stylin' at the time, but now they look just about dorky.

i wish everyone thought that way, it was mostly the older people that said something, all of the younger ones thought he was so cute, and gave him extra candy for it.

nice thing was that some of the people around my parents house, and some of our close neighbors, gave him a special bag with stuff he could use, like books, clothes, and light up toys...that was very nice
