Castaway Cay "excursion" planning

Should I reserve what ever activities I plan to do on Castaway Cay? Namely, one of the packages like the "Getaway" which includes snorkling, a bike, and a float.

Also, I read about "Blue Mats". I assume that these are floats and do they come in any of the packages?

We had the 'Getaway' package while at CC last week. Yes, the blue mats are the floats. You can get either the blue mats or tube type floats as part of the package. We have found that the snorkeling is better earlier in the day before the area get crowded and the sand gets kicked up. The bike ride was very nice - it goes along the air strip, where there are two old planes, and then down along the adult beach.

We did reserve our excursions ahead of time to save standing in line on the ship.
