ARGHHH!!!
I know this has nothing to do with Disney or the podcast, but I feel as if I can come here to get the best advice and opinions from my fellow DIS'ers.
Alright, here's the story... yesterday one of my close friends (let's call him T) text messaged me a gazillion times complaining how he was bored and wanted to do something, but couldn't because his parents were out of town. I was bored too because all of my friends either couldn't do anything because they had other plans, or just weren't answering their phones. I called T last night and mentioned that I was busy tomorrow (Saturday) from 9-3 PM, but could do anything after that. He said OK, and that we should go see a movie.
Well, today I had this church thing from 9-3 PM, and got home around 3:30. Another friend called me (let's call her C) and said that she and another one of my friends (let's call her A) were planning on seeing Beverly Hills Chihuahua tonight and that if I should go and invite some other people. So I called a few other friends but none of them answered their phones. I decided to call T because he said he wanted to see a movie (BTW, I was texting him all day and he wasn't replying)... I called his cell, but he never picked up. Next, I tried his house (which doesn't have caller ID like the cell) and he picked up. He told me that he was having a party and thought I couldn't come. By this time it was 5 PM. I'm pretty much OK w/ it, but the fact that he was purposely excluding me really lowered my self esteem. He just texted me saying that he was going to a haunted house with the people at his party and that I was not to come... :sad2:
Luckily I'm going to a movie tonight and hanging out with the people I still consider to be friends.
This whole thing has made me furious, sad, and sick (I get stomach aches whenever anybody treats me like garbage)  :sad1:
Sorry if this post made absolutely no sense, but I just needed to vent.

Well that is pretty crappy. I hope these new friends are not just using him for a place to party while the parents are away and then will drop him like a bad habit after. High School sucks when it comes to things like this. Hang in there we have all been through it. It just is crappy while it is happening.

His friends (the ones at the party) have been his friends for quite some time. I've known him since 4th grade, they've known him since 1st grade or kindergarten.
I'm leaving for the movies right now, so I'll post again when I return. :)
Thanks! :goodvibes

Sounds like he is not being a good friend. Don't let anyone treat you like that now or ever. Stick with people who are positive and stay away from the ones who bring you down.
Hope you had a fun night! :goodvibes

The best revenge is growing up, becoming successful, build a very popular internet site, throw a very cool Mousefest event and then don't invite him.

Simon -- First of all, I am assuming "T" stands for turd, as that's appears to be the best description of this fair-weather friend. Anyway, don't let this get you down. There are always going to be people in your life that treat in a manner that is demeaning and they do so because they have such low self esteem themselves that they have to break others down to build themselves up. You're a smart, sensitive young man...it's up to you to weed these types out and give your friendship to people that truly deserve it. I hope you enjoyed the movie and will put your phone on "ignore" the next time "T for Turd" starts texting!

Why don't you put him in that cistern, then bury him in it the way he buried your friendship. Seriously, I hate that. I'm sorry.

People like this guy are so irritating. I think you did right by not making a big deal of it, but I would suggest that you let this friendship cool a little bit. There is no reason that you should have to go through all that balogna.
I have to say that I agree with John's advice. Grow up, be successful, and don't invite this bozo along for the ride.;)

Simon,
Reading your vent gave me a stomach ache!
I am sorry that T was such a Turd!
I hope you had a good time at the movies.
Don't let T get you down. HE has the problem being a good friend...NOT you. You should feel good about your self for thinking of T and inviting him to join you and your friends for a movie!!

I agree about "T" being a turd. Don't let it get to you. I know that's easier said than done, but really, just enjoy your other friends.:goodvibes
BTW, how was the movie????

100%+ right "T for Turd" I love it!! A Boston sports radio personality uses that expression ... not often but it fits when you hear it!
It is mind over matter ...

Hi everyone!
Thank you so much for your help and support. I completely agree about him being the bad half of our friendship. I've always been kind, loyal, and trustworthy, and his behavior is on the opposite end of the spectrum. Countless people have used me in the past, and I'm officially done with it. There is absolutely no reason that anybody should be used as an object, an ATM, and especially as a friend.
On a more plesant topic, I had a great time with my friends last night. Beverly Hills Chihuahua was definitely a hit and I recommend that anybody go see it. :thumbsup2
Thanks,
Simon :wizard:

Hey! I was going to go see that movie !!
Simon,
Could you do a little review of the movie?
I am glad you and your FRIENDS had a good time at the movies and hanging out.
Anytime I see a movie, good or bad, I have fun when I am with friends. Even if the movie is bad, we get to laugh about it!!
BTW, When you see Turd, make sure he knows that you had a good time and you are sorry he made plans and missed it!

Simon,
Could you do a little review of the movie?
Sure! :)
The movie was really good. Not great, but really good.
Here's what happens; a spoiled chihuahua (Chloe) from Beverly Hills gets lost in Mexico when the house-sitter takes an unexpected vacation with friends and bring her along, despite the fact that they (for the most part) neglect her and leave her alone in their hotel room. She decides to go exploring but gets kidnapped along the way and is brought to the dog fights. She meets many dogs in the fights, and gains an enemy; El Diablo (why that is the name of every Mexican villain, I have no idea)
Back at home the landscaper's dog, Pepe, is worried about her. When the landscaper finds out what has happened, he rushes to Mexico with Pepe and tries to find Chloe.
For the rest of the movie, Chloe travels throughout Mexico with another dog (I forgot his name LOL) and encounters some problems along the way. Meanwhile, the house-sitter, landscaper, and Pepe are trying to find her. I won't give away the ending, but I will say that it is very good.
Overall I would give this movie 4 out of 5 stars. :thumbsup2

It was meant as humor, kind of like 'if your friends don't dance, then they're no friends of mine' (Men without Hats, Safety Dance).
I figured the friends were doing you a favor by watching that "film" without you.

We can leave your friends behind
Cause your friends dont dance
And if they dont dance
Well they're no friends of mine
Say, we can go where we want to
A place where they will never find
And we can act like we come from out of this world
Because you're one far behind"
