RUMOR: Cap'n Jacks- no more lobster on DDP?

:scared1: :eek: Someone posted that they no longer offer the lobster on the dining plan! Man... even though it's not the best... it's still "free"... and its LOBSTER! Please someone "in the know", check this out!

The lobster is gone off of the menu completely. It's not just for the DDP, it's gone.

This has been confirmed by quite a few Dis'ers, including a Restaurant Board Moderator.

We just enjoyed the Twin Lobster Tail entree there 2 weeks ago.
It was very good and if it is gone, then I am at least glad we were able to have it one last time!

It is true, it's a recent change. I believe that October 1 was the first day.

I know that there were a ton of threads about it back then. I'll do a little digging and find some links.

Yep, it's true, no more lobster at Jack's period, for anybody, not just DDP. Replaced on the menu with crab cakes. (The menu outside apparently had the crab cakes stuck over the lobster entry.) I walked by there on October 4.

WOW, we just had the twin lobsters on Sept. 28. Guess we were one of the last ones to get them. Though their crab cakes are very good and we always got them as apps. even when the DDP got rid of apps. Well maybe Sept. 28 was the last time that I will have been at Capt. Jacks.:sad2:

yes, i cancelled my adr's there after I found out about this...it was really the only thing I wanted so I cancelled and was able to get Le Cellier for a late lunch. So maybe i'll make out better that way. :goodvibes

We don't eat seafood, so it doesn't matter to me one way or the other...but I have a feeling that it will be really easy to get into Cap'n Jack's from now on, since almost everyone I've read went there specifically for the lobster. Don't know if they will have much of a following anymore. :confused3

I've never been there, but it sounds liket they're shooting themselves in the foot so to speak...Looks like a lot of diners are leaving there. If it gets that bad, do you think they will bring the lobster back?

I think they may bring lobster back to the menu, but possibly not the same as it was. I could also see them replacing the lobster with a other seafood items like crab legs.
