If your thinking of buying shares in DLRP to join the Shareholders club now looks like a good time to buy. The share price a few seconds ago was €4.70 (£3.72)

where can you buy shares? and do you need a certain amount of them to get the shareholders discounts

Jeccaboos

You can check it here:

http://www.selftrade.co.uk/quote.php?symbole=1rPEDL

You need 5 of this type to join the shareholders club, I believe. There is also an admin fee on top of this.

What sort of discounts are shareholders entitled to ?

The discounts are all listed on this website :thumbsup2

http://corporate.disneylandparis.com/shareholders/shareholders-club/index.xhtml#contentj

You get 15% off table restaurants bills, 15% off at boutiques, 10% off disney hotel prices( There are restrictions on this, and I think it is limited to 2 night stays but I may be wrong). Access to Salon Mickey is also a shareholder privilege. There are other advantages as well such as a discount on annual passes and normal park tickets :)

The discount off packages/hotels isn't limited to 2 days, at least we did 4 days/3 nights in April with the full discount.

It isn't possible to combine that discount with other offers though, this month we're going back and getting an extra day and night free, and can't get a shareholder discount

I don't think you can combine it with half board vounchers used at their face value either - although I've never really got a definate answer on that.. if someone knows otherwise and can let me know by next weekend they will be my hero for at least 5 minutes!

You also get discounts off Buffallo Bill's and Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, and a booking line that gets answered almost immediately.

Salon Mickey is wonderful. We go in there after EMH and regroup!

right - as i have been informed - u can use the shareholder discount IF u arent just ordering the voucher set menu - if u use the vouchers for their face value, but are spending more..... then, when u ask for the bill, show ur shareholder card, and the bill should then be brought to u with the discount taken off, then, u pay with ur vouchers, and any balance after.

does that make sense??

eg - we will go to annette - we have vouchers for me, dh & ds1, but *** ds2 is under 3 we cant get vouchers for him. so, we will order 4 meals, and then ask for the bill showing our shareholders card. then, we will pay with the vouchers, and any balance cash.....

hope that helps - am bunged up with cold so brain isnt totally active!!:rotfl: ;)

I have bought my shares at a cheap rate through selftrade - the website is rather volatile though and you have it me a through times to get it to work, you could always do it over the phone though - I think that would be easier!

You need to apply for membership, you can download the form here: http://corporate.disneylandparis.com/shareholders/shareholders-club/index.xhtml#contentj

Once they receive all the documents you can get them to fax you a temporary certificate to use whilst you are on your trip as I think it is unlikely you will get your card in the length of time left.

could anyone tell me how to buy these on self trade i cant figure out the website?

Heres how to start.

1) www.selftrade.co.uk
2) Select Services from the tabs along the top
3) Select Dealling account from personal accounts section
4) Select Apply Online

You will then need to fill in the forms that follow. They require a lot of info such as name, address, NI number and bank account details, so be prepared. Once I was signed up I rang the number on the website and made a deposit on a debit card (enough to buy my shares and cover the costs) and then bought my shares.

I now need to sort out getting the info to Disney to get my membership posted out.

I also would like to say thanx to everyone for the info on shares... I bought 5 yesterday and I'm going to get the form sent off on Monday for the share holders club then hopefully I can use my discounts in December.

Quick question though... do you have to let them know you need a temp certificate or will they send you one automatically? I'll only have 3 weeks to recieve it in.

Yeah I have 2 lines, going from BT to Virgin, BT should be gone today, was using that and it said it was not a valid number, so thought I would try the Virgin line.

Okay so I have just bought 5 shares, :cool1: . What do I do now, is there anything I need to do with Selftrade, I have not received an email or anthing.

I am going to Disney on Saturday, so too late do anything there I guess, thought I would buy now for next time though, seemed a too good an opportunity to miss.

steve

You can sell your shares but when your 2 years expire you will not be able to renew the membership as you have to prove you still own the shares & it has to be a statement/proof from the last 3 or 6 months

Also its not worth selling them at the moment as once you pay the fee to sell etc the chances are you will sell at a loss

I figured as much, I will just sit on them. They will have to go up quite a bit before I would make back my transaction costs anyway.

There's no way they can tell if you sell the shares, but you would be breaking the terms of Shareholder's club membership, which says that you should inform them of any change in your circumstances (ie. you sell some shares) which would make your membership invalid.

Ok, I have (finally) decided to buy a few shares. Should've bought them last week/a couple of weeks ago when they were at a lower price. Argh. Serves me right I suppose lol.

Anyway, I have just opened a Selftrade a/c. I have my a/c number and I'm now at the final page (ie them telling me I need to send them a bank statement etc) and that I'll have to enter a verification code which will be sent with the Welcome Pack in the post.

In the meantime, can I transfer some money from my bank into the a/c and buy the shares... or do I have to wait for this code to do so?:confused3

Woohoo, just bought some shares. Just a quick question - when you guys received that 'contract note' in your Inbox, is it in the form of an attachment or just text in the main body of the message? I have received the email but when I click on it, all I get is the title of the message with nothing else in the body and it says 'Done' at the bottom left of my screen. I'm hoping this is just a temporary blip?! Did you experience any difficulties with this contract note?

I assume it works just like the AP discount so just hand it over when you ask for the bill, they will then take the discount off for you.
