Hey all!
In Spring I'm ditching the hubby and heading down for a weekend to wine and dine by myself for the Flower&Garden festival (actually DH will be busy with the fire academy and not able to come). This will be my first solo trip to the world.

I would love to hear some tips for how to plan my weekend. Currently I'm trying to choose my resort Pick my resort here (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1977844) over on the resort thread. I'd like to try new experiences that maybe DH might not enjoy. I was thinking the tea over in GF...but what else?
Don't worry, when I finalize my dates I will post them so hopefully I can meet up with some other solo Disers who might be around :wizard: .

i make a list of things i always wanted to do but my family didn't. i do those things first. maybe it's a food place you always wanted to try or a ride that no one else has patience for. the point is, this is your trip! do want you want to do. on my 1st solo trip i did the KTTK tour but my trip was longer than yours. i wouldn't necessarily carve out time for a weekend trip. sleep in if you like...get up at the first sign of sunlight if you like. watch every show/parade...whatever you want.

Hi, pumpkinfish,

You might be interested in my current series on traveling solo to WDW over at my blog, SoloFriendly.com (http://solofriendly.com). I've only got part 1 up right now, but the rest will be following shortly and throughout the month of October. If you have any specific questions about a solo trip, let me know and I'll try to make sure I cover it.

Thanks for your advice Candice! I think you hit the nail on the head. I was talking this over with DH over dinner last night and he said the same thing :If this were me going solo, I wouldn't make ANY plans. Just arrive at the resort and go where the wind takes you." Very profound insight from my DH ;)
I have done the KTTK tour with DH years ago...BUT I haven't done the Behind the Seeds...DH thinks it's boring stuff in The Land. I think I'll start making a list now so I don't forget :)

Really liked this article. Well written. As a solo Disney traveler, couldn't agree more with these tips~ Oh - one more - download a game on your cell phone. (I personally recommend ZUMA) This really passes the time in line. Send pic messages to your friends/family at home. Makes you feel connected!

MEK - Great advice! Would you be willing to go add that comment at my site? I'm sure my readers would appreciate it.

I'm hoping to post part 3 this weekend. Please feel free to add any comments or advice you have on the various topics as they come out. It'd be most welcome.
