We'll be leaving soon for our 7-day cruise. We've read the info about Sea Lice but are wondering if anyone who has recently cruised experienced Sea Lice or knew of anyone who did. We're flying from the West Coast and believe it or not, our local diving shops know nothing about Sea Lice. It must be a East Coast/Caribbean thing. TIA

Lisa,
My wife and I cruised April 13 magic. I was in the water at all 3 ports of call (Orient Beach - St. Maarten, Trunk Bay - St. John and CC), I did not notice any of the effects that sea lice would cause or hear of anyone else who did.
Enjoy your trip!!

Just returned from the 4/21 Wonder cruise. I did not experience any sea lice nor did anyone in our group. I have not heard of anyone else complaining of sea lice on that cruise.

I don't know about sea lice, but there's sea mice on the ship.
Almost six feet tall, with big black round ears. They answer to the names Mickey and Minnie.

I'd say they're more like five feet tall!

We were on the 4/25 3 day Wonder. We had no problems, I was concerned also. I read that the lice occur in warm water... the sea was chilly, actually.
We didn't snorkel but I heard of no problems. My youngest daughter (8) had a small rash, about the siz of a quarter) the evening after Castaway Cay (it didn't itch her). I put cortaid cream on it and it was gone by the next day.
????
I hope this helps.

Back from the 4/27 Magic and NO SEA LICE...and it was funny...I was so paniced on getting some safe sea I called Joanne at the perfect gift and ordered a basket with some in it..she was able to get it at Ron's surf shop (?) so the safe sea that I never cracked open cost me 60 bucks!!
But I'm not sure when that "season" starts it could just be starting now...
I'd play it safe, but that's me - paranoid with the 9 gallons of sun screen!!
Good Luck!
Have a great vacation!

I was wondering how I'd be able to get the sea safe. I won't have time or transportation once we're there...but, I do have Joanne at The Perfect Gift putting together one huge basket of goodies for us! (because Disney has raised their rate for delivering to the ship/per basket) Perhaps I can add Sea Safe to my requested items?
Thanks!
Lisa:)

I know this might sounds like a strange question, but what is sea lice?? I've traveled to the Caribbean a number of times and have never heard of it. I haven't experienced any problems either, except those sand flies are pesky!!!!
