View Full Version : Best place to stay at Coronodo Springs?

This is my first post, so please be patient. My DH and I are planning a trip for October/November 2009. This will be our first trip without the kids, they have all grown now. We have spent numerous visists at Fort Wilderness, but would like to try a mod resort this time. Where is a good place for adults only to stay at the CS resort? Thanks for the help.

It all depends on your prioritys
if you are not pool people - casistas is nice
pool people- cabansas
like it quiet and rustic - rancheros
I am sure buzz will chime in and give you the real scoop-
we stayed in Casitas and loved it!

Stay in the casitas. You will be close to the main building, close to the patio bar and restaurant. The area is absolutely beautiful and evening strolls are so relaxing. That's where I request when I go alone.

Thanks for the replies. I really appreciate it. We're looking forward to going by ourselves. Thinking about adding the dining plan also this time to try all of the restaurants without the confusion of kids.

DH and I have done the four of our last five trips without kids--and loved it! We always stay at CSR and just returned about a month ago from our 25th anniversary trip there. We were in Casitas 3 this time (only because we were upgraded to a suite). Normally, we are in Casitas 4 or 5 which is right by the quiet pool and the spa (which I use every trip). It takes me five to seven minutes to walk to the main building and to the main pool. The CSR has a new lounge and also now has all queen beds (unless there are king beds). You can read my trip report here: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1952195
And here are a few pictures of the Casitas section:

We have stayed in Casitas 4 and in Ranchos 7B, both were great locations! For us, it depends on the season. If it is summer and we will be using the Dig Site, we like Cabanas or Ranchos 7b. If winter and the weather is iffy, we ask for Casitas.

I've only stayed in Cabana's and LOVED it. I honestly think that the entire resort is beautiful so it really wouldn't matter which section you stayed in. Definitely check out Buzz' website, lots of great info and pics :)
Have fun, I'm having huge withdrawals haven't been in a year and won't be going for a year unless I can convince dh to take me :)

We stayed in Cabana blding B (IIRC) also, last November. It was on the opposite shore from El Centro. It was quite a beautiful site at night. The walk was a bit long at night if we wanted to stop at the main building, but the walk was so nice and relaxing I didn't mind. On our lazy morning's we would take the bus to the main building as the busses ran constantly. All area's are convenient with the busses.
The Casita's looked almost identical to the resort we stayed at on the Mexican Riviera. Absolutely stunning with the fountains.
The Rancho's were not to our taste. Even if they were closer. They just reminded me too closely of the very dry area I lived as a child in New Mexico.

Hi, Tricia. You have gotten some great advice already! We like the casitas best, but did enjoy the one time we were in the cabanas.
I also wanted to say that we are originally from Punxsutawney and my parents lived at Treasure Lake for a number of years. Small world! Enjoy your trip planning. :goodvibes

I really appreciate all of the great suggestions! We are excited to go again even tho the kids won't be going!
I LOVE DISNEY! Never thought we would have gone as many times as we have but its a wonderful vacation.
We live really close to Treasure Lake. We even own a UDI campsite there. Makes for a nice getaway from home.
