The car is going to break down, forgot jewelry and can't find g-ma..(TONS OF PHOTOS)

This shall be a pictorial report of sorts... I am feeling a little too lazy to type up the long in depth trip report as I did last year but I did want to share some pics and some random info about the trip so I shall just keep this short and to the point...;)

So, the cast...

Myself-Amanda- MOM... lover of sweets (just check the food report for proof), photographer (at least I have been trying to be..hehe), pin trading nut (with all the cm's) and just all around Disney freak! I love it all!!

DH-Chris-DAD.. Haunted Mansion lover (he rode this so many times on this trip it was crazy) and lover of a good steak! ;)

DS(5)-Ethan.. Lover of Disney transportation of all things. He is crazy over it!! Buses, monorails and sometimes the boats.. ;) My mini pin trader! :rotfl:


My little one was left behind again this year with his grandparents. He loved that! He is NOT a fan of the heat, long car rides or being stuck in a stroller so this was not the time for him to go.. NEXT YEAR though!! :thumbsup2




So.. we left on Friday (sept 12th) around 1:30pm when dh got home from school. We were so excited. I was so sad about leaving my little man behind but he was so happy to be going with his memommy that I was feeling a little better...

The drive down...well..it did not start off so great.. I thought something was telling us not to go for a while there. We started having car trouble almost right away. It is not going into gear just right and it keeps stalling and idling really low. I just knew it was going to leave us stranded some place. I then realize I left ALL my jewelry at home including my watch which just left me feeling naked..lol My mom and dad were calling my cell phone b/c Chirs' mom was not at home and she was supposed to get ds from my mom whiel she worked. She was running late, my dad was in a meeting and nobody was there to get my little man... So..all this is going on at one time and my once happy mood was turning south fast!!

As we are driving along I see a rainbow..just beautiful!! I joked to Chris that it was a sign of things looking up. Sure enough my dad calls and says he was able to get home to sit with Landon so my mom could go to work and we finally get ahold of g-ma and she just lost track of the time and was at the grocery store. All is well there.. The car finally started driving better after a couple of hours as well. I am still upset over the jewelry thing but I did find a pair of earings in the car so I had something..right?? :rotfl:

Great, we are on the road..things are looking up..we are laughing and talking and playing the Nightmare Before Christmas on the ipod. All is good.

We make good timing and arrive in around 10:30pm. I had booked a hotel off site for that night through my cc. Well..it looked nice in the pics and was even a Disney Good Neighbor hotel.. We pull in and see a nice part of the hotel and then a crummy Inn connected to it. I joked to dh as I got out to check us in that they would try to stick us out there.. and sure enough THEY DID! I tell them that is not what I booked for but they say it is. They tell me I can pay more to stay in the tower if I like.. UMM..NO! So after much debate and over an hour later we get a refund and leave.. We refused to pay to stay in the rinky dink Inn..lol So, we head on over to Riverside and pray they can get us into a room by the early morning.

We arrive to smiling Disney faces around 12:30am. We are told they have a room ready for us but we can't check in til after 6am. We decide to just relaz in the lobby for a while and maybe walk around the resort some even though we were insanely tired from the drive down and being up all day/night. As we get up to stroll around a little a manager comes up to us and offers us a room to sleep in.. we can't check in yet but we can sleep and just check in when we wake up! OH THANK YOU!!! We are so happy and quickly take him up on the offer. 30 minutes later we are in the room and asleep! ;)

No pics today since it was just the drive down but plenty for tomorrow....;)

So we wake up early and head down to "check in". All goes well and we head down to the boat to ride over to French Quarter to get some beignets for breakfast. We then strolled FQ for a bit and got on the boat to DTD. We stayed there til about lunch time and then decided we were ready for some Magic Kingdom.. :thumbsup2

Ethan is mad that we are taking the boat back..he says boats are slow.. we need a BUS!

We finally arrive in the MK! The first day here is always THE BEST! We spent the day riding rides, esp Haunted Mansion since we all love that, snacking, taking pics, trading pins, looking in the shops, etc...

It was an awesome day. Dinner was at LTT and that was nice as well. Ethan always gets his first real character interaction with them on the first night.. :)

I think I stayed there back in the 80's and the water in the tub was so bad....

Today we planned to spend the whole day in the MK. We were up and there around 10am.. I really wanted to get there at opening but that just never seems to happen..lol We are so lazy in the am. ;)

The first thing we HAD to do was ride the HM. After that we strolled around just enjoying the park. We rose the train, did storytime with Belle, saw all the princess' in toontown, had lunch at Pinocchios, met up with a friend to chat, etc.. About mid day Ethan came across the talking trashcan in Tomorroland and was REALLY amused by that. It was too cute watching him play around with it.

He was also sooo cute with the princess characters. He is SUCH a little prince around them. It was adorable.. He told them each that "you are a beautiful pincess"..lol He leaves the R out.. :rotfl:

We planned to watch the 3pm parade but after waiting on it for 30 mins and only seeing one float we were too hot and decided to head back to the room for a break. We later had dinner at Whispering Canyon and hurried back to the park for the extra night hours, fireworks, etc.. We rode lots of rides this night and the park was near empty at times. It was A LOT of fun. Day 2 and no rain yet.. we are feeling pretty lucky thus far. :thumbsup2

This is the day we were going to do Hollywood Studios. We were again planning to get up early and be there at opening so we could grab fast passes for Toy Story Mania.. somehow that did not happen though.. We did make it over there around 10am though. We headed right for TSM to grab fast passes and then went in to see Buzz and Woody.. 2 of Ethan's faves! We waited in the line and played around at all the backdrops and such..

on a side note.. I saw the funniest thing this day that goes to show how far people will go to not loose a spot in line... A girl in front of me went to toss her drink cup in the trash can and I turn when I hear a woman behind me ask her if she can have the cup.. :confused3 The girl looks really confused but gives her the cup and goes back to her spot in line.. This woman then pulls down the pants of her maybe 3-4 year old son and has him pee in the cup..:rotfl:


ok, back to the day now.. ;)

It took quite a bit to see buzz and woody so when we were done with that we were able to ride TSM. It was a lot of fun. I thought I was going to have a pretty darn good score...til the end when I see others scores and I ask dh what he got (he and ds were behind me) and his was a good bit over mine. Ah well.. maybe next time. :lmao:

We watched the Beauty and the Beast show, saw more characters (seems to be the main goal here..lol), had some lunch and snacked a little, checked out some of the shops and took pictures. We left shortly before dinner at Narcoossee's to change clothes and freshen up.

We came back that night after dinner and this was the ONE night on the trip we ended up with a little rain. It lasted for about an hour or so. We still ended up riding the Tower of Terror when we got back..always FUN. Heck, even Ethan loved it. As I was walking in I stopped to snap a photo and the cm working there asked how many were with my party.. I said 2 others and he asked us to come with him. He took us over to one of the couches and sat us down and asked for my camera. He told us a little about it and took our photo on it.. THEN he asked us how it felt to be sitting on a $200,000 couch! :eek: :laughing: He told about where some of the things came from and how they were almost all real antique items, etc.. Very cool moment. I HATE that photo of myself.. the way I was sitting I looked like I was twice the size of my dh.. ACK! Not sure I want to share that one. :rotfl:

Again, another really fun day. We enjoyed it all. We saw lots of characters and thought it was really cool to get to go over to check out the things in the tower of terror. :goodvibes

Ok, so I know Disney is hot...really hot sometimes.. but Animal Kingdom is the hottest of all the parks.. I swear, that park is on the face of the sun.

I have always said AK is not my favorite park but I go and try to enjoy it as much as possible anyway. I was looking forward to seeing Lilo and Stitch and riding Everest I must say! :goodvibes

We stayed in the park for about 4-5 hours before we decided to leave and just come back when it cooled off a little bit. What a wonderful idea that was!! When we got back that night we were able to do all we wanted to do so quickly and it was a lot of fun. It was Extra Hours this night so we stayed til just about 8pm when we had to leave to get to Jiko for dinner.

We decided to now always do AK on night hours and skip it during the hot as the sun middle of the day!! :rotfl:

Nothing too exiting happened on this day that I can recall so I shall skip right to the pics from the day.. ;)

(I just realized I don't have many loaded up from this day..I think I was just too darn hot to take many..lol)

Aww, thank you so much! I don't have people saying that as often as just asking what type of camera I used.. not that I mind that b/c I guess in the back of my mind I always wonder the same thing when I see cool photos but over the years I have sure learned otherwise in my goals to try to become a photographer.

I wish you lived closer as well since I am trying to get plenty of Fall/Holiday sessions booked right now for cards.. :rotfl:

The bus service was quite the same still, sadly. I love Riverside but the bus service there just sucks sometimes. I have gotten used to it over time but I have to just laugh when I leave a park at night and sure enough the longest line to get back to a resort is Riverside. :rotfl:

This is the day we were going to do Hollywood Studios. We were again planning to get up early and be there at opening so we could grab fast passes for Toy Story Mania.. somehow that did not happen though.. We did make it over there around 10am though. We headed right for TSM to grab fast passes and then went in to see Buzz and Woody.. 2 of Ethan's faves! We waited in the line and played around at all the backdrops and such..

on a side note.. I saw the funniest thing this day that goes to show how far people will go to not loose a spot in line... A girl in front of me went to toss her drink cup in the trash can and I turn when I hear a woman behind me ask her if she can have the cup.. :confused3 The girl looks really confused but gives her the cup and goes back to her spot in line.. This woman then pulls down the pants of her maybe 3-4 year old son and has him pee in the cup..:rotfl:


ok, back to the day now.. ;)

It took quite a bit to see buzz and woody so when we were done with that we were able to ride TSM. It was a lot of fun. I thought I was going to have a pretty darn good score...til the end when I see others scores and I ask dh what he got (he and ds were behind me) and his was a good bit over mine. Ah well.. maybe next time. :lmao:

We watched the Beauty and the Beast show, saw more characters (seems to be the main goal here..lol), had some lunch and snacked a little, checked out some of the shops and took pictures. We left shortly before dinner at Narcoossee's to change clothes and freshen up.

We came back that night after dinner and this was the ONE night on the trip we ended up with a little rain. It lasted for about an hour or so. We still ended up riding the Tower of Terror when we got back..always FUN. Heck, even Ethan loved it. As I was walking in I stopped to snap a photo and the cm working there asked how many were with my party.. I said 2 others and he asked us to come with him. He took us over to one of the couches and sat us down and asked for my camera. He told us a little about it and took our photo on it.. THEN he asked us how it felt to be sitting on a $200,000 couch! :eek: :laughing: He told about where some of the things came from and how they were almost all real antique items, etc.. Very cool moment. I HATE that photo of myself.. the way I was sitting I looked like I was twice the size of my dh.. ACK! Not sure I want to share that one. :rotfl:

Again, another really fun day. We enjoyed it all. We saw lots of characters and thought it was really cool to get to go over to check out the things in the tower of terror. :goodvibes

OK, I have got to pipe in now............;) First I have to echo the posts about the beautiful pictures and yes it is the person behind the camera because I know several people who have very expensive cameras and my pictures are as good as theirs.............lol. Second, your son is a cutie. Third, your husband could be Tony Stewarts brother. Now for the rest.........:lmao: I can definately understand the car situation. In 2002, when we drove our car, it quit on us on the turnpike and we had to wait for a tow. Now it was 11pm so it was GOOD and dark. It is a long story but we were blessed with a taxi driver the next day that was sent straight from heaven. Since then we have only driven our car down twice, we rent. To address your comment about the heat at AK. I saw a travel show once that actually said the temp at AK is about 6 degrees higher than the other parks :happytv:. It is like a mini rainforest. Anyway, I love your report and I am going to go over and read last years...........:thumbsup2

Thank you so much! :hug: It is weird for me to say it still but yes I am a "professional" photographer. I started a very small business doing on location photos for people about a year ago. It is slow but I just love when I have a session. I just spent 2 days updating my website with "fall colors". :rotfl:

Today was a fun day at Epcot. It is always SOOO much walking there but I love hanging out in World Showcase. I think I could spend a week just browsing it and taking photos of everything. I love all the details. :love:

Nothing too interesting to report that I can recall.. we rode Soarin first thing (always love that), did the Seas with Nemo, Turtle Talk with Crush, Honey I Shrunk the Audience, Club Cool (where I had Ethan try Beverly..:lmao: ,,see pics below), got fast passes for Test Track, did the character spot and the Visa Meet and Greet. :thumbsup2 After all of that we had some lunch at Sunshine Seasons and headed to World Showcase for the rest of the day. First thing on my list was getting a School Bread from the Kringla bakery. :rotfl: Where is a drooling smiley when I need one? I managed to talk dh into getting me some Laila perfume too. :eek: I have been wanting some for 4 years and was so happy to finally get some of it. It smells SOOOO good. :lovestruc

The rest of the day was spent enjoying WS and having dinner at Le Cellier. It was a nice day. :thumbsup2

Wow, I really got behind here..lol Getting back on track.. ;)


Well, the goal today was to go to the MK... We woke up and decided to go to downtown for a bit. We hang around the hotel til 11 and then take the boat to dtd for lunch. We then go over to stuff a potato head box..lol After much shopping around and wasting time we realize it is time for dinner. We decide to try for Boma so we call over and they can get us in. After dinner we head over to the MK but are only there for a few minutes.. we end up watching the fireworks on the dock of the Poly and then going back into the MK at closing to browse the shops and such. It was a crazy day. We usually are in a park most of each day so this was so different for us but i totally enjoyed just hanging around doing other stuff that day. :thumbsup2

Sadly, my computer crashed about a week ago and ended up needing to format again and I lost all of my Disney trip photos..not to mention all the photos in general I have taken in the last 6 months...over 700 songs in itunes...photoshop and all my actions and templates I had saved for it for 2 years, my website builder and all of its content...client photos since April, etc.. :sad1: :sad2: It has been horrible. I have been in tears over it all so many times. That will teach me to not keep things backed up. :sad2:

I do still have the photos I had loaded up to photobucket to post for my trip report, thank goodness so I will try to finish up soon. :thumbsup2
