I wonder why they have 2 different plots (maybe they haven't decided):

1st one: Woody, Buzz, and the rest of their toy-box friends are dumped in a day-care center after their owner, Andy, departs for college.

2nd one: Toy Story 3 was going to be about Buzz Lightyear having a defect. Buzz would then be shipped to Japan to be fixed, but the other toys find out that the toy company is just replacing the broken Buzz toys with new ones, so they ship themselves to Japan to rescue him.

I wonder why they have 2 different plots (maybe they haven't decided)The first one you described is the plot of the movie they're actually making. The second one is the idea Disney was originally going to use, back in the days they thought they'd have to make a sequel without Pixar.

I'm so excited! I LOVE Toy Story!!!
MY idea for a plot would be to have Andy's daughter find the toys in the attic, except she KNOWS that they can talk.
And then a big adventure ensues, and Andy remembers how much he loved his toys and what it was like when he had them - ala Jessie and her girl in TS2.
Obviously, I think about this stuff WAAAAAAY too much!

Yeah, the Buzz defect plot is too similar on what happened in Toy Story 2. And this day-care plot sounds like a fantastic way to finish the series. Toy Story 3 is probably going to be a tear-jerker. I can hardly wait!

Funny those three year olds that first loved TS are going off to college in 2010. It will be a tear jerker for those of us who remember the little guy dressed like a cowboy and all those toys as well! Ahh well I guess they do have to grow up!

I just saw that myself and something about Cars 2 in 2011. My son is 2 and his favorite movie is Cars so with the sequel coming in a few years it will be a great age for him to see it in the theaters. It might also be the same year of his first Disney trip!

I can't wait for both movies!

I recall seeing something that Cars 2 might come in 2010. But I guess it is too early to tell.

Yes, I remember seeing something baout it coming out too, but I cant remember which year. Soon there will be more about it, and they will actually know a better estimated guess.

During a Disney showcase in Los Angeles this afternoon, a few fairly big announcements were made -- most notably the fact that Cars 2 is being bumped up from 2012 to the summer of 2011.

I hope it will be as good o_o With Toy Stories 1 and 2 I cant ever decide which one I like more, so hopefully it will be the same with this one.
