Hi all,
We'll be headed to the World on Apr 15/09 for 11 nights. Just curious if anyone has any recommendations as to where to eat. This will be our fourth trip. I know we don't want to eat at the following because we've already been there and we would like to try new experiences: 50's, Sci-Fi, LeCellier (I know - how can we not go there!).
Here is where we are definately going - Cali Grille, Artist Point, Wolfgang Puck, and Chef Mickey's for breakfast. I'm also thinking about getting the Fantasmic Package since they are cutting back on the number of shows, I know they will be crowded.
Any thoughts or recommendations?
TIA

Jiko - It's 2 TS credits but it's our favorite (me and DH..we're kidless at the moment)
We've also enjoyed Kona Cafe, Raglan Road, and Rose & Crown. WCC is good, but isn't exactly a grown up experience. Crystal Palace is our favorite for a character meal. Dinner is good, but breakfast is excellent.
Enjoy!

I know everyone's palates are different, but here are our 2 favs from our recent trip with 4 adults on the DDP:
* Brown Derby at MGM (aka Disney's Hollywood Studios...not used to that STILL) I highly recommend the crab cake appetizer, the black grouper, and the pistachio cheesecake for dessert.
This option is also available for the Fantasmic Dinner Show you mentioned, and we thought it was worth every penny to not have to wait in line for the show, plus they seemed to be comping everyone an appetizer who had the Fantasmic Show Package. Not one appetizer per table as we thought, but one per PERSON. Our bill was over 220 dollars that night, and all we had to pay was tip. To me....worth IT!
*Chefs de France at Epcot
Try the filet, you won't be disappointed. MMMMMM Lots of other options as well, even if you have a picky eater.
Note on the Wolfgang Puck Cafe: This used to be one of our must do's during our vacations, but I am sad to report, the quality of the food, nor the service is what it used to be. We had a lousy experience there just a few weeks ago, as did many other people who posted complaints. But I say this followed up by....what some people love, others hate. So...make your choices on what YOU love.
Have a wonderful vacation on the DDP!!!!!:wizard:

I second Jiko. Flying Fish and Yachtsman Steakhouse are also really good. Are you doing the Deluxe Dining Plan or the basic? If you are doing the deluxe, I would try as many of the 2TS locations as possible. We've found that we have a much better dining experience (service and food quality) at the 2 TS locations. As far as 1 TS meals go we like LeCellier, Kona Cafe and Wolfgang Puck Cafe.

It's hard to recommend a restaurant if I don't know your preferences. If I were you I would look at all the menus at Allears.net and check them out for the meal type you enjoy. Then make sure the restaurant is located where you want to be that particular day. Just my thoughts. I Love Japan, Canada, Raglan Road, Chef Mickeys, Ohanas, and Liberty Tree Tavern. Mexico is nice for the atmosphere more than the food for me. Just a few of the TS we enjoy but check out the menus first!!

Thanks everyone for the ideas. I've looked at the menus on all ears - there are just so many places to eat it is over whelming. I'm thinking about O'Hana's for supper (I don't want to be there when Stitch is there- not a fan!!). Also considering Corel Reef - the reviews seem to be more positive than negative.
Also - does anyone have any thoughts on Restaurant Marrakesh? This just seems like an interesting place to eat. We are not picky eaters and do like to experiment to a certain extent.

CS at Morocco is one of the best (I think) in all of Disney. So if you don't want to do the table service (Marrakesh) that's a good option.:)

I'd have to recommend Tutto Italia. DH and I spent 5 days in Feb. by ourselves (first time w/o family) and got to try some more grown-up places. It's a much more adult kind of place than many of the other WDW places. We also like Boma (soups, stews!!!!!!! ).

Jiko in my opinion is one of the best restaurants on property, even better than California Grill.

Try the dining review section. My six day review is at http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1953162&page=1&highlight=two+retirees . I loved Boma and Chefs de France. My wife agreed with Boma but preferred California Grill.

We enjoy Biergarten at Epcot; Plaza Restaurant for lunch or dinner and Crystal Palace for breakfast at the Magic Kingdom; we tried and fell in love with Yak & Yeti this year at Animal Kingdom. The Studios we do Mama Melrose (we refuse to eat at H&V and we don't think Brown Derby is worth two credits). However, we were a little disappointed with Mama Melrose this year, but think it may have been that we were overtired and hot. We may or may not go again next year (we may go to 50's Prime Time and not do the package because we haven't been there in about 8 or 10 years).

i like marrakesh. They meals have a lot of rice and come in platters that have a good mix. It is also fun because they have the belly dancer.
