Hi, i am booking a car for June. Best rate I have found is dollar with fvg code. Are there any codes for national that are available to anyone? I know everyone says emerald isle is the best, if I sign up for that is there any extra discounts? I am now with dollar and fastlane, is emerald isle better? Thanks ,,,,Corvair

Corvair:
I recently joined National's Emerald Club (free with DC membership). I booked with Disney Contract ID in addition to the free day coupon on the Disney Web Site (also on mousesavers.com) and got a full size for 9 days at $237. I have done some comparison shopping, and have not found a better deal. Plus, the fact that I won't have to wait in line with 3 children is an advantage - I go right to the Emerald Aisle to choose my vehicle. I may even luck out and get an upgraded vehicle, but I booked a full size just to be safe.
I would also be interested in any available codes, but have not seen any since I began my trip planning.
Good luck!

Thanks, I am not a DC member. The best I can do with codes for 9 days is 302.00 dollars for standard and that is through dollar. Thanks for info ,,,, Corvair

You may want to check out the National web site and do a search for your dates using the DC Contract ID (5901600) and the Coupon (10004932) for the dates you are travelling. I did this, and discovered that I was still saving $ even after the 39.95 I spent to join the DC! Plus, there are many other benefits available to you through DC!
Food for thought!

you get usually 20% off rental cars with DC and about 5% off tickets with DC, you also get 10% off purchases made at certain Downtown Disney stores and the Disney Store.

Re:DC membership
On DC, I have -
- Bought WDW AP (save $16)
- Bought WDW 7-day PHP (save $10)
- Joined Nationals Emerald Club (save $50)
- Booked rental car (save $90 at WDW and $35 at DLR)
- Booked Fall Getaway package at DLR (save almost $1800)
So far saved just under $2K for a meager $59.95 (International Membership). AND thats not counting the savings Im going to rack up on meals, merchandise and service when I visit BOTH Disney resorts this Fall!
Scrooge McDucks got nothing on me! :D

Try mousesavers.com
Go to Walt Disney World - Transportation - Rental Cars. There is a whole section for National. It also includes the web site for the Disney Club, and the coupon for a free day. If/when you join DC you will get directions on how to join National's Emerald club for free. I contacted National as soon as I got my DC membership card and they faxed me the paperwork. I faxed mine back and it took about 2-3 weeks for my Emerald Card. But they told me if I needed it sooner I could take my application to any local National Car Rental to get they card on the spot!
Hope this all helps!

Corvair: I almost forgot!!! Membership to DC is normally 49.95. If you have an entertainment book it is only 39.95. If you don't have an Ent. book, I can share the coupon number from my book. When I called DC to join, they just asked for the coupon number for the $10 discount.

Thanks for all of the info> I went to the sight right away??Do you also get a entertainment book? About the tickets it did not show the discount. What is an AP? Is that an annul pass? I would only need like 6 day hopper plus, do you also get a discount on these???? Thanks for all of your help and info... I am new to the boards and am learning so much...Sorry for all the questions, but some things I did not understand...Love these boards...Corvair

Ap = Annual Pass
The Disney Club card entitles you to the same discounts as an Entertainment Card member. There is a little Ent. card logo on the DC card. You also are entitled to some discounts at certain WDW restaurants.

Where did you get the codes from? I have the coupon (10004932) from my DC but I can't find the contract ID coupon. Is it from the Emerald Club? I sent in the EC paper work in last week and I am waiting to get my membership info. - Mike

Banks 37 - the DC code is not a coupon. When you book on-line on the National web site, you will be asked to enter the Contract ID. Enter 5901600 and you will get the DC discount. You will need to show your DC card when you pick up your vehicle.

I just got my DC membership and the contract id I have isn't 5901600. It is 5042974.
The first one gave me a better rate. I am totally confused.........

dvdmeadows: I took the contract code (5901600) off the the DC literature I rec'd with my new DC card. It gave me the DC discount on my reservation.
Can anyone else out there shed some light on this?

dvdmeadows: I just tried Contract ID 5042974 for my dates and got a rate of $291.11 (also used the free day coupon). Then I tried again with Contract ID 5901600 and the rate was $237.42! Did you find your contract ID in your DC paperwork?

If you join DC on-line you will be issued your number immediately HOWEVER the DC Card with which you need to claim your discounts may or may not make it in time ... its taken a little under 5 weeks to reach me but that international post to New Zealand. I'd imagine in-country mail would be faster.
Once you have your DC number and can get onto the DC website, you can get the number for National to send you a fee-waived membership form for Emerald. Unfortunately this is all done through snail-mail as National does not waive fees through its on-line service. There is a 3-6 week turnaround to get your Emerald membership set-up HOWEVER they can process them ovet the counter IMMEDIATELY!
Realistically, you could get both in time using snail-mail however I would not bet the house on that happening. In your situation, I would:
- Join DC on-line. Get a DC number and visit the DC site ASAP!
- Obtain the National discount info from the DC site and call National ASAP. have them send a fee-waived Emerald Membership Form to you. DO NOT DELAY!
- When the form arrives, fill it in and make a very prompt visit to your nearest National Branch
- Get them to process your Emerald membership over the counter. You do not need your DC card to do this as the form is marked fee-waived already. They will give you the membership kit right there and then!
- Once you have your Emerald membership, book your car at the counter!
- Wait for DC membership kit to arrive!
- Go on holiday and have fun!
PS. Let us know how it goes!
