Question regarding Discount codes/pin #s

For this years trip we received a pin # via email and were able to save money on our resort for our whole stay.

I was looking at possible dates for next year and had a question.

I really want to catch the Osborn Lights next year - I thought we would be able to this year, but that didn't work out as they are starting them later. So I was thinking of going to WDW the Saturday after Thanksgiving & staying the following week. I do realize that weekend (from what I've read here) would be crowded - but it would let us use holiday time for driving.

Since the pin # this year would not have covered that Saturday, if I received one next year - would I be able to use it for Sunday - Friday? The days that were okay on the email? Or would I be out of luck because one of our days fell on a blacked out date?

I hope I made sense.

Assuming that the code next year is the same as this year (a huge assumption), you could do a split reservation - book the room for the weekend at the normal rate and use your PIN for the rest of the week.

I do realize that the codes can be different - and that I may not get one, etc. This will be our first trip - and I booked what I was okay paying, clueless that pin codes & discounts existed. Will book next year with the same view point. But, I was just curious how it would work in that scenario.
