View Full Version : Question about the Brita Filter?

I purchased a Brita filter that fits on the faucet to have at WDW when we go down each time. We were going to leave it in the OL so it would be there and we wouldn't have to carry it back and forth. I hate the water in Orlando and I am a big water drinker. Anyway, we can't seem to make it fit any of the faucets. We first tried it at SSR and then at WLV. We followed the directions, but we can't seem to get the adapters to work. :confused3 Has anyone else had that problem? If so, what did you do to make it work. I thought about getting the Brita Water Pitcher, but that takes up too much space in my OL and I already need a second one.

I gave up on Brita afer the whole BPA thing...although bottled water is also in plastic.

Although we don't use OL (We always drive), we have the square Brita pitcher. You could still get that, and then put small items inside it while storing it in your OL. That way you're not really taking up a lot of room with an 'empty' container.
Just a thought.

Good to know - we were going to buy one for our upcoming trip. I'd be interested in any tips as well.

From what I've read, BPA is only in plastics marked with a #7 so if the bottle water bottle doesn't have a 7, it should not contain BPA.

I guess you have to call Brita. It says in the instructions if neither adaptor works, call Brita for assistance. I think I will have my DH call and see what they say. Caskbill, thanks for the idea. :thumbsup2 That does sound good. Not sure what I can put in the pitcher that I don't already have stuffed into something else. I know my DH wouldn't go for two OL. Might have to take some things out to make it work. I will try it though the next time we go down. (May, 2009).:headache: Wish it was sooner!

We haven't had any trouble using the Brita filter at BCV. At AKV we have had to attach it to the vanity faucet instead of the kitchen sink faucet. We love using it and we also keep ours in our OL.

I will have to try it on the vanity faucet next time. I really want it to work, just can't figure it out yet. It is so frustrating when I know I have read about people here on the DIS having one that works. The pitcher idea might work also. I have been trying to think of what is in the OL that would fit into the pitcher so I could make room for that. Oh well, unfortunately, I don't have another trip until next May, so it will be a while before I can try to use it again.
Dreary weather in Illinois today! Sure wish I was in WDW. Rainy weather there doesn't bother me.
