Do you think they will ever make a walkway from Animal Kingdom Lodge to the Animal Kingdom park? I am curious because most other DVC resorts have some sort of perk like that.

I really wish they would - I love to go to the AKL after visiting the park for a drink in their lounge, but I hate getting on a bus to get over there, and usually end up just getting on the bus to get back to Epcot. I think if they were going to do a walkway, they would have done it right away. It doesn't look like they have much space to do so - there's a lot of barbed wire fencing around that area (for obvious reasons) and maybe they just don't have room. I can't remember, too, if you need to cross the highway to get to the AKL from the AK - that would make a difference too with a walkway.

No, I don't think they ever will. If Disney was going to build such a walkway, they would have done so at the time that the AKL was built. Since that was not done, I can't see that being done now. I, too, wish they would build such a walkway, but I do not see it happening.

When AKL was built, it was a less expensive deluxe, due to the fact that it had no direct access to a park. Same with WL...they have boats in addition to a bus, to the MK but that isn't the same as either being able to walk to MK or take the monorail..which makes CR, Polynesian, and GF more expensive deluxe resorts. Same with BW and YC/BC..you can walk to Epcot and DHS or take a boat.
OKW doesn't have direct access. SSR sort of has direct access. You can walk to DTD but it's a hike! In both those cases, a boat is the way to DTD, buses to all other parks.
If Disney were to put in a walkway to AK from AKL, the cost per night may escalate. Would they put in a walkway? Who knows. It's a pretty fair walk to AK from the lodge. And, they would have to make a secondary entrance to AK I would think..sort of like the International Gateway to Epcot.
