I just changed our trip from October to May 1-10 at the Poly, so we could get in on the 4/3 deal. It is mine and my DD's first trip. We are going with my DH, DM, DM-in-law and my DH's aunt. I'm so excited. I booked a CM dinner for the night we arrive and a CM breakfast for the day we leave. I also booked a CRT dinner because my DD is fascinate with the fairy godmother. I wish they would put out the May hours, so I could finish my schedule. I've been spending time on the Creative Disigns boards. I might try to get creative.

I haven't booked my airfare, yet. They have released prices for my trip down, but I'm just watching it. It has held steady at the price they released it at, so I'll keep watching. Their current sale is thru 2/28, so hopefully they will have one for May in the not too distant future. I know somewhere it said Dec 6th or 9th the next set of dates would be released, but now I can't find it. Are you going to book as soon as it opens?

Are you going to book as soon as it opens?

Yes...I'm hoping that the fare is reasonable. We went last year, Manchester, NH to Orlando (nonstop) and paid $64 each way. It is doubtful that we will ever see those fares again. I would love to get $89 each way if possible!

I don't know how out of the way it is for you, but since you're considering Philly, you could also check out flying out of Atlantic City, because they've always got pretty cheap prices also. Just for a suggestion!

Actually my parents are joining us on this trip, and they are flying out of AC. The prices were not that much different. The was one cheaper flight $150 round trip, but it left on a Tues and came back Mon. 6 only nights.

We are flying Continental. So I booked CBR, and they only had standard view left. Over the last 10 years we have stayed AKL 2x, GF 3x and Poly 3x. I am a little worried the I will be disappointed with the resort. I have seen mixed reviews and am hoping for something to make me feel a little more comfortable with our choice.

I am feeling very frustrated today. I know we are all waiting patiently (ha) for the May hours, but I've had a draft of a schedule for a while now. Wanted to make sure I knew what ADRs I wanted, in case they ever open. Today I go on UG and they changed some of the crowd numbers, but all of the best parks. I have so much holiday stuff to do and now I have to redo the schedule just in case ADRs do open on the 22nd.
Thanks for letting me vent.

If you have one of their books, then it is free. You can also access, I believe it is the next month for free. From what I understand it is similar to Tour Guide Mike, but I've never been on his site. Those are the only places that I am familiar with that tell you which park should be best on which day. HTH

We are also going from 05/16-05/23. We are staying at the Poly. Usually, my DH wants to stay at the EPCOT resorts. However, this trip I convinced him to try the Poly and he agreed. My DH is afraid of change and is afraid the experience at the Poly will be different than the magical times we have had in the past. Last May I had the POLY booked and he convinced me to change it to the BC. Since talking it over with him he is extremely excited to try the Poly.

Asking Santa for May hours... I think I've been pretty good this year... only went to Disney once :rolleyes1

I heard there's a good chance that Space Mountain will go down for refurb shortly after Easter... so it looks like this may affect us May travelers :guilty:

If you've been keeping up on some other threads you may have read about how Space wasn't even placed on the MK map or mentioned in the 09 planning DVD. There was a solid rumor going on (before the release of the DVD and maps) that the ride would close for a significant part of 2009 for a full rehab.

There's talk now on whether or not the ride will in fact go down this year due to the lack luster year 2009 is turning out to be for Disney... so I guess we'll have to wait and see.

I was just wondering if you guys/gals have bought your airfare yet? I have been watching SW since it came out and the prices haven't gone up, but I'd like for them to go down. The current sale runs through April 30th, so I'm hoping soon they'll run one for May:wizard: Just wondering what everyone else was doing:confused:

We purchased our airfare through Southwest. Manchester to Orlando, nonstop. We paid $134 each way, not awful, but not great. I would welcome a spring sale. When we went to WDW in 2007 we paid $64 each way. I was hoping we would get the same. I check the SW website frequently, hoping that a sale may be announced.

We are going in May as well. May 17-22nd at BCV. It has been 6 years since I've been and I was pregnant in 2003 when we went last. So I'm really looking forward to Tower of Terror, Rockin Roller Coaster and others that I've never been on. Well and I'm also looking forward to seeing my kids have TONS of fun.

Hoping they post the hours soon so I can put a schedule together. I've already started our "packing list" and timetable. I'm going to be driving my husband crazy. He actually just suggested we go now instead so he doesn't have to spend the next 4 months listening to me. (I was asking if we should be taking the double or single stroller)

Anyone driven recently with kids and have any suggestions? We are driving from Philly to Orlando. Taking 2 days - driving around 8 hours each day. Kids are 9, 5 and 2 1/2. Thanks!

We'll be at AKL 4/30-5/7 with DDP. Have my dining choices planned and will call on the 30th to make ADRs. Used UG's crowd calendar to assist with the planning and we'll go to Discovery Cove and Universal on the two days they have predicted the highest crowds.

We purchased our airfare through Airtran ($530 for the three of us-myself, husband and 6 year-old son.) Thought that was very reasonable. Have a ressie with National Car Rental for 8 days ($291) but will keep an eye on rental prices as our trip approaches to see if they release any promo codes.

Here's to 2009 and less than 4 months till we return to WDW!

Anyone else care to share their airfare situation??

Southwest was $1496 for the 5 of us out of Philly. Delta was cheapest, at $870 (flight times were less than ideal as well ie a layover of 3 hours in Atlanta) but then we would have to pay $15 for the 1st bag and $25 for the second. Either way we will be driving as it is less than half of the cost. My Mom got flights out of BWI on Airtran for around $560 for 2 people. We are also traveling on Memorial day weekend.

I booked today:banana: !!! May 22 -29 -- hope the crowds aren't too bad we had to wait for DS to get out of school.
Finally after planning for three years we are finally going back.:rotfl:
I booked the 4/3free deal at the Music (never stayed there before). We are also bring my DD's bf and he is a retired marine so we were so excited to find out we could save money on their tickets. That means more money for dining!!
Now, I can obsess (more than ever now) on planning our trip. Can't decide what character breakfast to attend. We did the Crystal Palace way back in '96, thinking about Mickey @ the Contempary, or Donald's safari at the Tusker house. Our crew will be myself, DH, DD 21, DDBF 22, DS 16, & DS 2. :dance3:

Here's hoping for that sale :wizard:

Oh! Has anyone started a Photopass share for May?

I'd love to hear more about the photopass share...how does it work?

Also, we are going to be there the exact same dates. (And we're bringing our 2yo and celebrating our anniversary as well. :rotfl: It isn't quite 7 years yet, but we're working on it.....this is year 4 of actual married life....whew! Planning an ADR at California Grill for just the adults that night....)

We are doing CRT for breakfast on Mother's Day. VERY happy I snuck that ADR in already...I am a bundle of nerves about getting the ADRs I want. :lmao: ( a little OCD here)

I don't know all the detials, but I know it's when a couple of people chip in for the cost of the CD. I know you can find some on the Budget board.

I am hoping to get ADR's at Akershus, 1900 Park Fare, Cape May Cafe, H&V, Le Cellier, 50's Prime Time and a few more but I don't have my list right here. We have a group going, so not everyone will go to all of them. I already have Chef Mickey's and CRT.

I am excited that I was able to get my return flights tonight. SW opened their sale to more dates. They were still more than I would have liked, but better than regular price. I paid $240/rt.

(ok, ok,....to be fair...a lot of these are 'either/ors' that I've picked and charted on a spreadsheet and I will hope for the best when I can start filling in the ADRS)

Yep, that's about right. We were booked at ASMu, but FH surprised me on New Year's with an upgrade to POR. He said it was only about $300 more, which was only about $100 more after our price adjustment (we booked a couple of weeks before the deal came out and Disney was happy to honor it anyway).

Our LONGEST trip ever!

I am so excitede.....BUT, here's my question.

Do I tell my 6 year old? She asks almost every day when we are going back...we went Pres. week last year. I tell we will Definitely goin back...but I am vague about when, she thinks after school is out.

So, should I make it a complete surprise, send her to school on the 1st and pick her up early and go directly to airport? Or tell her ahead of time? If I tell her now, she will drive me crazy with it.....maybe a week or two in advance? Last year, she kept packing, and packing, and packing....I could never find anything because she had packed it away in a backpack or beachbag or whatever......2 months beforehand.:lovestruc

May 11-16 here! Staying at Port Orleans Riverside for the first time.

This will be my eighth trip in seven years, but the first for my brother since we were kids. It's just the two of us while he's home on leave from the Army. We were able to take advantage of the Military discount and ticket offer, and I can't get over how cheaply the two of us are going!!

Never stayed at POR...DH and I are always at a deluxe resort, but DB wanted to keep the trip as cheap as possible. We had originally booked POP, but I put my foot down and upgraded us today.

I Hope the OP doesn't mind. I'm just trying to help as many DIS'ers as I can. :)

I manage several stroller swaps over on the budget board. I thought I would extend an invitation to you to join the swap. A stroller swap is a group of DISers who will be staying at WDW and would like to use a stroller without paying $31/day for a WDW stroller. A stroller is purchased and passed from one vacationing DISer to the next on the list.

Keeping it a surprise from DS11, DS10, DD4. It almost slipped today when we saw Space Mountain on TV. I said that will be closed while ---- um, while they fix some things :)

We told DD4 we will go to Disney when she is 7, but we will take a small vacation in May, just not to Disney.

Can't wait to head back to the "world" May 24-31 for our 5th anniversary trip and celebration of the end of a stressful school semester! Already have ADRs done (after waiting those 3 1/2 hrs on hold...) and will be staying at CBR - just in time for the post-Memorial Day crowds! Yippee! Will be our first time staying in an on-property resort- all other times have been off site or in the CP apartments! (Test Track, Spring 2004- "17-18" to any fellow TT CM's!)Absolutely can't wait to finish this semester of school so I can officially psych myself up for the trip! Anyone know if there are any cheerleading/sports camps or competitions scheduled for that time frame that I need to be warned about?
