Resort Prices Oct. 24-26th ???

Hi everyone,

I'm asking this question on behalf of a co-worker. Just an fyi. She was looking to take a quick trip to WDW (we are floridians) on the 24th for 1-2 nights. She actually just came back from a quick weekend about 2 weeks ago. She also has an AP. She told me that the prices for the weekend before and after her chosen dates are lower than this particular weekend. In other words Oct. 24 (a friday) is more expensive than Fri Oct 17 and Fri Oct 31. This is what she is telling me and she has only checked online. She hasn't called yet (which is what I recommended for her to do since I have noticed many errors in the online pricing on the disney website).

Anyway, anyone have any idea why that weekend is so much higher than the others?

Well, I know we made reservations last year for that weekend for the Disney's Martial Arts festival because we go there every year for it and it always has high rates. I booked it as a bounceback stay and got a decent rate - yet still higher than I would like to stay.

Maybe that's it. I know she checked different resort categories to see if it was just the one she was wanting and they all were higher.

I never realized they increased rates for events like that though. I thought it was just weekends and major holidays. :confused3

I figured it out!

The AP discount is blacked out for that weekend...that must be the reason for the price difference.
