Appetizer for kids ages 3-9?

Do kids get an appetizer and a full meal on the ddp for there table service meal?

Yes, but not an appy from the adult menu...like their appy may be a cup of chicken noodle soup, or fruit,or small salad.I know at Le Cellier dd had a small cup of the cheddar cheese soup.

Kids appetizers are very limited; usually to one or two things but most places would let us get fruit as an appetizer for dd. I can't remember which ones, but a couple of places told us about additional apps she could get if she didn't like what was offered. The kids meals really need a major update.

They are supposed to, but they never, not once brought, nor did they ask about an appy for my 9 yo DS during our stay in May but I forgot to ask about it so I guess that makes it my fault.

If your nine year old ordered from the child menu, she/he got the appetizer - it may just not have been what you would consider as such. There are two or three kid-picks options, where the diner chooses from one of two or three items for each course, and three or two complete meals.

NO he did not. He got his meal and dessert. No salad no soup. Was not given the option either. And of course he ordered from the childs menu.

It depends on what menu your son ordered from on the Children's menu. There is the Complete Menu and the Kids Pick Menu

For example at 50's PTC:

All kids' meals are for guests 3-9
All meals served with choice of 1% milk, bottled water, or juice
Kids' Complete Meals

These menus include one serving from each of the five food groups
Grilled Fish of the Day served with whole-grain pilaf, veggies, and yogurt parfait $7.59

Here the "appetizer" is the veggie on the complete meal. The Kids Picks don't come with a vegetable, so they include the choice of soup or salad.



If your DS always went with the Kids Pick, then he'd always have gotten the vegetables instead of the appetizer.


The kids meals aren't to focus on the appetizer aspect, but Disney's main goal is to hit the 5 food groups.

He did order from the child's menu. He got spagetti at Tony's, grilled cheese at The Plaza, Hamburger at Kona, and cheese pizza at PH. Not one waiter or waitress asked him if he wanted salad or soup.

Now, I am not trying to start an argument with this, but I was there. I know what was offered and what was not. He was never offered soup or salad with any meal we ordered. Not that he would have eaten it..............:lmao:

racefan. that is a shame they didn't offer it to you. It is probably because you didn't ask for it, so they figured you didn't want it. They must figure since you are looking at the menu, you can clearly see that one is offered with the KIDS PICKS menu.

At Tony's the menu has .....
