anyone have recent experience with the cribs at the Dolphin? I know the WDW resorts use pack & plays...but haven't heard any mention of cribs at the Dolphin.
thanks :)

I think that you can rent them, you must call housekeeping first.

Me and the husband was at the Dolphin for 12 days last Oct.. and we thought the cribs were so cute.. To get to our elevator we had to walk past a large room with a glass window and all the cribs were stored there. They looked to be silver in color..Steel we thought. Seemed to be the size of a porta crib or larger and I want to say on casters, but not sure. They had a thick mattress and we saw some with the bumper pads..Really nice..The railings were tall and they looked comfortable, roomy and very strong..We called it the nursary when we walked by everyday.. It looked like a hospital nursary room but without the babies in them..Hope this helped..

that's just the info I am looking for--I wanted to be sure that the cribs aren't the wooden "utilitarian" type cribs that some hotels use...anna is only 7 months old (she'll be a few months older for our next trip) so the size shouldn't be a factor :)

I was surprised and pleased with the cribs. My 2 year old slept very well in it in March. I was afraid she would be too big but did great. They are the size of a port-a-crib, bigger than a pack and play and higher off the floor. They are metel and have a nice rail pad and we had a Mickey quilt and sheets that were made for the crib. It worked out perfectly. :D You will enjoy this hotel!

Yes they are a metal portacrib type of crib & they are 40" long. My dd slept in one our last 4 visits at the Swan. Our last visit was her last sleep in one because she's getting too big now. Believe it or not she was over 3 but she is petite and slept in it. Much nicer than a pack n play.
Sometimes they put bumpers on them, make sure to request them since your baby is still under a year old. They also have a light blanket but you may want to bring some receiving blankets of your own.
Also, make sure you check the mattress, on 2 occasions we were given a ripped mattress which made it feel like she was sleeping on the springs. We called down and they brought up a nice thick mattress. Ask for a thick mattress first if you can, they do have them but you really have to request them.
There is no charge for cribs. This part of the S/D's service. But, do request it when you make your reservation or if you've already made one just give them a call back.

We were just there in March. The cribs were just as everyone described, but I may add that the rails did not come down. I am short so it was a little bit of a hassle. If they did come down, and I am just a dimwit, I'd like to know since we are going back in June. :)

You are right they don't come down. I forgot about that until I read your post. I also am verticly challanged ;) and it was hard to reach all the way down.
