CSR for a Romantic Getaway

Ok, all the CSR fans, I've read your posts and am convinced to try try it out. DH and I are going to WDW at the end of July for a convention, a little romantic getaway without the kids (this time), and a 40th birthday celebration for him, etc., etc. We need to stay at a moderate for $$$ purposes. Which area of CSR would you recommend for great atmosphere (surroundings)? I don't care about a hoof to the pool or being close to the food court. Also, do you know, is a King Bed room extra, or can I just add that to my room request and hope for some good kharma? Any suggestions would be appreciated!

My Dh and I found CSR to be extremely romantic! We've only been once, and we stayed in the Ranchos 6A Bldg. It is exactly opposite El Centro. We were told that a king bed is extra (I think that this is practice at all the moderates). I really think that no matter where you end up you will have a wonderful vacation!

Also, are there any sections of the Casitas worth checking out? I saw them on Buzz, Debbie's and Steve's websites and they caught my eye (decor color, etc). BTW, Buzz, great website! Also, which buildings are exclusively non-smoking? The second criteria is more important than anything else because DH has asthma.

Really, you can't go wrong with any of the sections. Again, its all in thetaste of the person. We only like the cabanas because we like to be so close to the Dig Site. But we had a great view of the lake and a fountain when we stayed in the casitas. As far as non-smoking buildings, I can try to find out for you next week when I'm there and let you know.

Buzz, please remember to share your findings on the distributation of non-smoking rooms at CSR upon return. I am also allergic to smoke and have emphasized that request everytime when I talk to CM regarding my reservation.

Just returned from CSR and stayed in the Casitas section. I have stayed in all 3 sections and the Casitas is now my favorite. It is beautifully themed and I think it is very romantic. We were in Casita 3 looking at a small courtyard. The walk to the main building was very pretty walking along the lake. I vote for the Casitas! ;)
