For her B-Day, I am taking my wife to WDW. She has never stayed @ WL or GF, and both of them are high on her to do list. She recently mentioned to me that on the next trip (which she thinks is a week long trip in September) she would like to stay @ WL. I have booked a room for the memorial day weekend @ the WL, but I'm a little concerned that for such a short trip, the transportation might be an issue. GF has apparent better transportation; WL is her announced next choice in accomodations. I think that WL would be great for a week long trip where time is not so limited. Will it be a mistake to stay there for such a short weekend?

We love WL, but if my DH was taking me for a weekend trip alone(no kids:) !), I would pick GF in a heartbeat! Keep WL for that week in Sept since she thinks that is what you will do then anyway. GF will be pure surprise! :D
BTW-We did actually do WL for a 3 night weekend in Dec, with 2 kids, and loved it. We used the boat to MK and drove to MGM.:)

I'm always amazed when people are struggling with a choice between the GF and other resorts! If money is not an issue, and apparently it isn't for you, why would you even consider staying anywhere but the GF? It's the Flagship! It's 100% Disney. You can't go wrong.

I dont know it really depends on your tastes. I could do with out the GF... I really dont like it. I feel it does not have much of a theme, and thats why I stay at Disney. And I truly feel the WL has just as good...if not better service then GF. For me the choice is easy...WL hands down...or the Poly.

Since you already have reservations in Sept. for WL, I would surprise her with a GF stay. That way her top two hotel wish list would be covered in just a few months! Besides since it is just the two of you, I think the GF would be more romantic!

Thaanks for all the input. I've decided to make the switch to the GF--that'll knock her socks off!
