Hello

On a couple of previous trips - several years ago now - we have had occasion to go to the Emergency Room at the hospital in Sarasota for minor treatments. We are visitors from the UK, and had to pay 'up front' for these treatments and then claim back from our insurance.

Now, not that we are planning on having any medical emergencies during our trip, which starts next week, but can anyone tell me if there is a choice of hospitals in Orlando, and if so, which one we should go to. For instance, do some provide better service, are some less expensive etc.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

If you are in WDW then you would be sent to Celebration Health, which is part of Florida Hospital as it is the nearest. (nice hospital)
If you are closer to Orlando I would use Florida Hospital on Rollings, it there largest hospital and the soon to be home of the Disney childrens hospital.(nice hospital, can cope with anything).
If you are headding north (Jacksonville)I would reccomend the Mayo Clinic as they now have a ER. (In my oppion the best hospital in the world).

If you are being sent by ambulance, they usually have to take you to the nearest emergency room, unless you have some condition that could not be dealt with by the nearest one.

We were on property last year and did have a medical emergency. You will be sent to Celebration as mentioned above. I will say the CMs were very helpful and professional. Not only will first responders (Fire and Medical) come, but security and resort management will also be there. They will make sure that someone goes with the person and that you have detailed instructions on how to get to the Hospital.

I don't want to have to go through it again, but if I do I know it will be very well handled.
