First I must say that I am so amazed at the talent you all have. WOW! I have recently purchased Photoshop elements 6, and wondered if someone would explain to me how to make the letters with pictures of the characters inside them? I know that I could ask any on you to do it for me, but thought I would give it a try. I am just running into complications on how to actually do this. Thank you so much for your help and your inspiration. You truely are so talented.

I know there are 2 ways to do this. I prefer creating a mask and putting the pictures behind it. It allows me better control over where I place them.
The way I do it.
1. Enter the text on a separate layer then simplify that layer. (right click on the layer in the layers window)
2. I prefer to have an outline around the letters as I think it makes it easier to read. To do this I Stroke (edit menu) with a color other than the color of the text.
3. I then fill white around the outside of the letters and using the Magic Eraser (right click on the eraser in the tool box) I turn the inside of the letters transparent.
4. Next I get my pics and position them where I want them. You may have to erase parts of one pic so it does not block one of the other pics.
5. If I plan to use it on the web like my logo I merge all the layers and turn the outside transparent.
