View Full Version : Will the sunset reflect off BLT's MK side?

I know, an odd question but with a lot of glass and the rounded side, there could be some neat pics (of the big parking garage ;) ). I just cant remember where it sets at MK?

Because of the curved design you will not get the “all at once” reflection you sometimes get off of a standard building. The intensity of the reflection will be affected by the coatings, which are used on the glass. I think the sunset will be more towards GF.

With all of the great things that I have heard about BLT from our owner friends on this board, the sun will be reflecting off of all sides of this building at the same time. :)

Ha, true. I did a google earth and it appears the sun will set over the GF. That gives the best chance of reflecting (adding some color) to the glass when looking from the MK or as you enter/exit. We will see, but I predict some nice shots of it.

Yea its 2 pictures of the boardwalk, but they are in reverse so it looks odd.

These pics are pretty sick. With the water being so still and no lights in the background, it looks like a movie set on a sound stage. Nice job.

I always love seeing that picture, jade1. It's beautiful.

I think that you're right that there will be some pretty reflections of sunset on BLT. The sunset in California Grill is lovely.

And I bet you'll post some great shots for all of us to enjoy!

Well thanks friends. Just hoping for some new opportunities to photo and since I saw a video of Wishes reflecting off the BLT glass-just got me hoping for a directional sunset for some pink/red/orange reflections off BLT. It may be from the monorail, or Splash, or MK entrance, or I may be way off. We will have to wait and see.

The Castles at the 5 magic kingdom parks are all situated to have the castle face due south....i believe.....


by that description.....the back side of contemporary is due East (which it is).....and the back side of Grand Floridian is due west (which it almost is....more like northwest)

so the sun rises over the contemp and sets over the grand....almost exactly....assuming your there on the first day of spring or fall :)

Never new that. Regardless that sounds like it will be hitting directly on the MK side of BLT, so it should reflect to the MK area I believe. We will see.
