Hey team! Sorry I've been MIA lately, but I'm swamped at work. I haven't had a chance to update the last few totals for September, but in case you haven't posted yours yet, please let me know.
Keep up the good work guys!

September stuff:
Mon 9/22- Sun 9/28 Totals
58 minutes, 3.1 miles
Sept 29
3.1 miles 40 minutes
On to October!
Today I ran 3 miles with my neighbor, 40 minutes. The best part was instead of my usual 3R/2W at first we just ran and I thought for sure by 5 minutes or so I'd konk out but I didn't! We ran .9 mile without having to stop and I was so excited! The route today we did had lots of hills and I think I did pretty good. All in all I felt really good when I was finished today!

I walked two miles and shoveled for 90 minutes. I had a really rotten day at work so I walked home so I could be alone for awhile. Wound up with a blister since my shoes weren't the best.

Hey Leana!
Usually I post my totals by the week, but since we switched over to October mid week I'll just post my totals out separately.
9/30 -
5.00 / 1:01:01 + warmups & cooldowns .50 / 10:00 = 5.50 / 1:11:01
10/1 -
3.62 / 44:00 + warmups & cooldowns .50 / 10:00 = 4.12 / 54:00
10/3 -
4.03 / 48:00 + warmups & cooldowns .50 / 10:00 = 4.53 / 58:00
Thanks!

:woohoo: September totals!
310 Miles
28:33:39 Hours
I dip in mileage and hours for me this month as I was tapering for various races and running them as well. I deploy near the end of this month again so I'm expecting to do a bunch more races prior to that, and then for my Nov and Dec mileage to get heavy again as I get deep into marathon training.
Additionally of that mileage I had races of total distance 31.7 and 31.7 the past two weekends.
Keep up the good work, and yay for cooler temperatures! :woohoo:

I did another 90 minutes of shoveling, but since my ears are all screwy and a bee stung me on my leg, I'll be taking the night off. Who the heck gets stung in October?! Though, if you need some amusement, imagine me hiking up my pant leg while frantically beating on it meanwhile the dbf is asking weither or not he needs to pull over is. Yes, he pulled over and dealt with said bee and poor gf. I never realized how much bee sting swelled or how painful they were.
My dbf, after I calmed down, said the bee was probably searching for some place warm. Which is incredibly funny since I hardly show up in the thermal camera shot at Test Track.

Oh NO Hope... How awful. Same thing happened to me a few years ago while sitting on the deck -by the pool - I had a t-shirt on and shorts, nothing underneath and a bee flew up my sleeve. What do I do??? :confused3 take of the shirt and show the "girls" or freak out. I freaked out, got stung but my girls had remained hidden. :rolleyes1
Yes they do tend to find shelter in warm places. When Mark and I were first married, we had a clothes line to hang laundry. I had hung the sheets out for that nice fresh smell. It was about this time of year and when we brought the sheets in, the bees had attached themselves to the sheets. It was pretty chilly so they were somewhat dormant. Well the warm apartment made them wake up.... Mark is allergic to bees and we had a lot of killing to do that night. That was petty much the last time I hung out laundry in the fall.:laundy:

My ears are ok, but my head not so much. I was lucky enough to get in this morning to see a doctor. I'm glad everything is all good with my ears. My leg is still very tender to the touch, but the swelling has gone done. I kept a very close eye on it last night during my flannel therapy session with 'Dr. Houdini-man'. After seeing the amount of swelling, I thought I was in for a trip to the ER. There were more frantic moments of "Is that normal?!?" with 'Dr. Nick.'

I did a treadmill workout today that was a program outside of my normal workout. I was doing laundry at the dbf's parents, and used their treadmill, opposed to the hamster powered one here. It actually was really hard to do. Between the speeds and incline changing, it got my heart rate up and made me sweat. Normally, I'm not thankful to hit my cool down after such a short distance.
Total: 2.5 miles 30 minutes

Until I started doing this, I didn't realize how much shoveling I do. Cripes, no wonder my sciatic and I got into a fight. Least we're on speaking terms again
Another 45 minutes of shoveling. I should try to make it more of a challenge, but I don't want to hurt myself.

Hey team! I finally got the spreadsheet updated for the end of September and beginning of October. I've been in a course the last two weeks and just didn't have time to get to it.
I've updated whoever has posted totals of their weeks for me, but if you've just posted day by day summaries, I'm sorry but I haven't had a chance to add them up. It would help me out immensely if you guys could post a summary total for me as it takes quite a bit of work to scroll through posts and try to add up every individual's stuff. Whatever day you want to post a summary on works for me. The spreadsheet runs for the following intervals if you want to keep up with it that way though:
Week 1 - Oct 1 - 7
Week 2 - Oct 8 - 14
Week 3 - Oct 15 - 21
Week 4 - Oct 22 - 31
Please take a look at the sheet and let me know what I might be missing for you. Thanks guys!!!!!!!!

I did another 30 minutes of shoveling (they were nice and gave me a mid shift).
I was ordered to get fitted and buy new shoes today. I just have this feeling that they're going to look at my stride and go "You're all screwed up, no wonder you have so many problems."
Trying to gear up for the 5k for the Fallen on Sunday and the wedding the following weekend. This 5k is one of my favorite races. Well run, good cause, and FABULOUS food at the end.

I've done the RFTT a few times & it's still a lot of fun. I thought the post-race tastings were better than last year...especially the Strawberry Shortcake. YUM! The only thing I didn't enjoy was the high humidity! :scared: Talk about draining your energy.
All in all it's a pretty easy run that I'd recommend doing at least once. The race coupled with the Food & Wine Festival makes for a great weekend.

Ran a local 5 mile race for Diabetes this morning, our longest one yet.
Finished in 59:24, I had hoped for an hour or so and am happy with it! DH only beat me by 12 seconds. I also won my age division (there was only one other woman in it!) and scored a blanket to go along with my T-shirt.
One a side note Dick Hoyt was there running it with his son. He is the man who pushes his son in the wheelchair each year in the Boston Marathon. What an inspiration he is and to see him in person was just really, really cool.

I did the Manchester Footrace for the Fallen today, so I can claim 3.1 miles and 44 very cold, miserable minutes times two.
Today, when we left at 9:00ish it was 33 and breezy. Now it's 43 and breezy. I never felt warm, even though we tried to warm up and keep moving. My sciatic gave me some trouble. I was also dangerously close to finishing DL, but it's still better then not finishing at all.

59.9 miles - 86.1 including double miles for marathon

I've been in a bit of a slump since the marathon - not so motivated to go running now that it's getting cold and dark earlier and the fact that I don't have anything to train for. Any similar experiences? I am starting to take spin classes again so I don't lose all of the benefits from training.
