Louise has made her Christmas list for Father Christmas earlier this evening. Top of her list is a Princess Jasmine outfit. Of all things... !! lol. I haven't seen it in the usual high street shops (Woolies etc).

Bit of a silly question but do they have it in Disney Store? They probably do, eh? My DS Adam & I go in there a couple of times a week (he just loves looking & touching/holding the soft toys) but I don't usually look in the girly bit as Louise isn't with me. I know they have Belle/Cinderella/Tinkerbell etc as I have seen them before but never noticed Jasmine. I'm surprised she has asked for Jasmine over Belle.

And if Father Christmas can't find Jasmine's, Belle's dress would be fine (phew).

The Disney Store UK doesn't sell Jasmine outfits at the moment but the one on the disneystore.com has a lovely one. I want to get it for Kyra :)

I am sure you could get one off ebay!

I've seen them on ebay but not sure how 'genuine' they might be (although they do say it's Disney). I just wanna have a feel of it before I buy it.

That disneystore.com isn't loading for me at the moment. Grrr.

I definitley think with ebay the price is the best way to judge, I got a a giselle dress for my dd for £18 off there and it is a much better quality than the ones I have seen from kids who got from the high street.

I want to get Kyra the Giselle dress from DLP but its so expensive for 75Euros.

tetley02

I know the costumes from disneyland paris are always going to be that extra bit special. I might have a looksie at the quality of the giselle dresses when I am over there soo if there is much difference. But when it is white, I can imagine it not lasting very long.

Hi, I've bought a Snow White Deluxe, Belle Christmas Deluxe, Jasmine and Cinderella (all Disney Store originals) from eBay. The most I've paid, including p&p is £12. I know you can get them from Asda and Woolies for this price but in my opinion the quality of the Disney Store items is superior. As for authenticity, I just check the seller's feedback - I've not been disappointed yet! The Belle dress was 'as new' including the padded hanger and the dust cover. I hope you get what you want!:goodvibes

I'll just keep checking on ebay.. and I'll give myself till mid-November perhaps. If I don't find anything in the shops by then, I'll get it from ebay. This is also just in case she changes her mind (as they do, so very often lol).

I'm wondering if I can ask for a favour from those of you who are off to DLP very soon. When you pop into the shops there (and if you remember), can you please have a look and see how much the Jasmine outfit costs? And what colours do they have available?

Thank you, thank you.

We got one from our local TK Maxx a few weeks back and it was a genuine Disney one (nice quality too - know what you mean about the ASDA ones as we have a few of those!). It was £12 and RRP around £20. It was bright pink and came with shoes, necklace and headband thingy.

I remembered TK Maxx and popped in there this morning but they had barely any Disney dresses left. I'll check again next week.

If you buy the Jasmine one from the Disney Store USA the shipping is about $30. Kyras sleeping beauty outfit and the crown plus shipping cost me $69.

I think the thing that puts me off is the shipping but if you buy enough to make up for the amount then its cool.

Only reason i had to buy Kyra's dress on there was because the Disneystore over here doesnt sell the dress I want in Kyra's size anymore :(

What is the sizing like from there, is it pretty accurate?

Jess has just turned 4 but is tall and is in an age 5 clothes from here. I am worried that if I get her the Small sizes, 5-6, they will be too small if you know what I mean. The stuff we got from DLRP for her is age 6 as they were tiny.

I ordered the XS for Kyra which was a 4, shes nearly 3 but wears age 3-4 clothes so im hoping the dress fits nicely. I hate buying clothes that are too big for her. I think the size 5 would of looked silly on her lol.

Kids clothes etc you do not have to pay custum fee.

Your very unlucky if your item gets picked for a fee. Not sure how much the cost is though, try google?

Where have you read this as AFAIK the £18 limit equally applies to children's clothes. Therefore as in all things bought on-line it is the buyer who will have to pay the duty, vat and surcharge if the system picks it up. You pay your money you take your chance :)

Beware, if Disney.com are still sending their items through DHL then you will have to pay customs. You will get an invoice later on in the post, maybe not for a month or two.

If they are using the Post Office to deliver then it's hit and miss. Sometimes I've been charged, sometimes not, and unfortunately it doesn't make any difference whether it's children's clothes or adult's. If the item is being delivered by the Post Office then you won't get it until you cough up plus they add on a clearing fee. I always allow for being charged, then if I'm not it's a bonus.

How do they work out the charges??? does it depend on how much you are buying or is there a standard charge?

I think you'll find it on here (http://customs.hmrc.gov.uk/channelsPortalWebApp/channelsPortalWebApp.portal?_nfpb=true&_pageLabel=pageVAT_ShowContent&id=HMCE_CL_001454&propertyType=document) plus you sometimes have to pay a handling fee.

I bought some clothes from Disney.com a few months ago which came to just over £45 and I paid just under £20 duty. Still worked out much cheaper than buying them in the UK plus they were clothes you'd never see here.

No, postage has to be included in the £18 so you've not got much chance of that.

I would wear Tinker Bell jeans at Disney but not at home ;) :rotfl:

Seriously now, I'm not sure I'd risk buying jeans though ~ if they didn't fit it's an awful lot of money to return them whereas if a T-shirt is slightly too large it doesn't really matter.

I've bought things from Disney USA and haven't been charged customs. It works a lot cheaper than the UK Disney Store and the clothes are unique and IMO nicer. I do order a lot of clothes for the girls from USA, esp Gymboree and Disney and it's true what Elaine said, if it's an express delivery (DHL or FEDEX) then you pay customs charges. True, you don't pay VAT on children's clothes but you pay customs charges.

My nearest disney store is Edinburgh or Aberdeen (we live in inverness) so we only go when we take holidays there, which we are as we are going to Edinburgh in the October kids hols!! But yes it is expensive, ebay for us is good but there isn't really that much that make you want to buy and its second hand at that (not that I mind that but at the usa prices is it worth it??)

Oi! I've got Tinkerbell (and Princess) jeans, I bought them off Ebay. I get compliments on them all the time from fashiony types and the people who work in Lush and so on - the ones I've got are "funky" enough with sparkly bits and a good cut etc that it works as part of my look rather than looking like I've just stepped out of the parks. It's not like I wear them with a Disney t-shirt and hoodie, or Mickey ears. I do wear them with Tron Adidas trainers sometimes, though (Google Image Search for them, I haven't posted enough to do links/pics yet).

I know and they were adult tshirts - planning on wearing them when we go under all my layers!! I love tracking parcels I find it really interesting where you parcels end up! Mine has travelled to Kentucky! (I know that is a bit sad haha :rotfl: )

All this customs/tax/duty thing sounds soo confusing to me lol !!! What I wanna get is definitely gonna be more than £18 lol.

We have a Disney Store right here in town and I'm in there at least twice a week, thanks to Adam. He always has to go in there to look/touch all the plush toys. Think they recognise us in there already lol.

They have a few bits on sale at the moment - stationery and stuff, so great for Xmas if you want to start stocking up.

I think you have to decide is it worth the risk when it comes to a custom charge.

I love the Disney store, wish they had one in Chatham.

be warned
sometimes the courier pay the customs charges so that ur order isnt delayed, and then, when they get to u they need the extra money - it happened to me - but cant remember who the carrier was (ups or dhl i think). it made my delivery a bit more expensive, but was still cheaper than uk (but not as cheap as id hoped!!)
i prefer to buy off ebay, as never paid customs that way - and i have minnie mouse jeans (but unfortunately they are now too big (just) so i have to wear them 'baggy' lol)
