I thought I'd toss this out to you wizards - my DD just phoned me and said she heard that Sleeping Beauty is opening on Broadway. Has anyone heard of this? Sleeping Beauty is her FAVORITE. Thanks for your help  .

If you google sleeping beauty broadway tickets it seems to be true. Not sure when it starts or for how long but tickets do come up for it. Sorry I will correct myself tickets do come up but it is not on broadway in new york city. Tickets come up for various shows around the country. Seems to be the traveling broadway show.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe the original Sleeping Beauty was a ballet :surfweb:

You're absolutely correct. I saw it last year performed at the Met. Fantastic performance. But my DD swears she heard that Disney's making the feature film into a Broadway show. I found one called Sleeping Beauty Wakes that's being developed for LA, but can't find nuttin' about Broadway.:confused3

I am surprised, Sleeping Beauty was not one of Disney's best. It took a really long time and kept getting pushed off. The result was a poor movie. Turning it into a play will be... interesting

There are many rumors going around about which disney show will be on Broadway next. When Disney opened Little Mermaid they said they were waiting a bit before bringing another one to the stages in NYC. I Think this is smart, they kind of have taken Broadway by storm with 3. If anything comes next I think it will be Nemo, especially with music by Robert Lopez, who is the tony winner for Avenue Q.

Seeing Nemo on Broadway would be great. I'd try to be the first in line for tickets if it was ever announced.
