Hmm just thinking about the kids birthday meal-for those who of have done it before would anyone reccommend the birthday tea party?
Not sure If I am better off doing that or having a birthday cake for them at Cafe Mickey.
We managed to catch the whole singing dancing show one evening and the kids really enjoyed that-think they would like getting happy birthday sung to them?

I can't help with the Cafe Mickey's as we've never been, but the tea party is certainly great value for money. When we were there, there were a few people that had the cakes brought out and all the characters gathered round and everyone sang happy birthday, but I thought it was very rushed. I don't know how much extra they charge for this but not sure if that would be worth it or not.

From what I've read on here, celebrating a birthday at Cafe Mickey's sounds fantastic.

Hi
Not sure what cafe mickey is like as never been but i bet its better than the tea party because we did that and i didnt think it was any good. I saw people having birthday cakes and like the previous post said it seemed very rushed. I was also not very happy with the fact that when the characters came up to your table others from other tables would come round pushing there kids in front and then the characters would go over to there table and they would have more time with them. I think that there should be someone walking around with the characters telling people to stay at there own table to see them.
I might have just had a bad experince though cause i have read some peoples posts saying they enjoyed it.

there is a character birthday party, but from what i understand EVERY birthday person gets a slice of cake there.

There is also the character tea party where people may order a full cake to be given so maybe the 2 are different in some ways, i dont know yet I havent witnessed it yet.

I just know that the type of food they have at the character birthday party is worth it and it is quite well priced, so will do us as our evening meal *** we are booked in for 5 for that.

We are also doing the cafe mickey and having a birthday cake for my dd.

I think both are worth doing.

There was a bit of that when we were there, but I found the characters ignored the other children if they weren't part of the table they were at, however, it was so rushed, DD was almost heartbroken when Pinnocchio dropped the pen then wandered off while she bent down to pick it up for him. She had to chase after him to get his autograph and if she hadn't plonked herself right in front of him I don't think he would've signed her book for her.

My DD celebrated her birthday at Cafe Mickeys. We ordered a cake for her and it was delivered at the end of the meal. The whole restuarant clapped and sang Happy Birthday to her. All the characters made a big fuss and she loved every minute. We got a slice of cake served up and then got to take the rest back to the hotel.

It was worth every penny :thumbsup2

I had a problem with the sheriff of nottingham he signed my friends ds book but when my ds went to him he pushed him away and walked off so i went straight to the people and complained about him and they went up to him and made him come back to our table there and then but think my ds had lost interest in him by then although he did have his autograph and a photo with him.
Maybe he thought my ds was from another table i dont know because it must be hard for them to know who is who. I just think it should be more organised.
