View Full Version : Is Pepper Market's Ribeye included as a counter service?

I stayed at CSR last year and they had a Ribeye Steak available in their food court as well as Fajitas and several other yummy dishes. Are all of these foods "allowed" as counter service options on the dining plan?

Also...they added a gratuity to every item when ordered there. Is the grat included with the dining plan in that situation or will I need to bring cash for that? Thanks!

Moving to the Dining Plan board since it's more of a dining plan question. :goodvibes

As of last July it was (I say that because I know things can change). I got one there on Dining Plan counter service and others in my party had fajitas too. It is probably one of the best counter service values there is and the meal is pretty good IMO. The gratuity is paid for by the dining plan so in other words the whole meal is paid for with no extra charge. Of course you can add any extra tip you wish.

All foods at the Pepper Market are included on the dining plan with the exception of a few of the desserts (and, no, I don't know why). DH has had the ribeye a number of times over the years and he really enjoys it.

Is that available as a lunch option (ribeye and fajitas)?

Actually starting January 1, 2008, they removed the gratuity (and appetizer) from the dining plan....so it would NOT be included now, and you would need to pay for this out of pocket.

As much as I love the Pepper Market, they need to get their act in gear and be consistent. We stayed at the CSR from September 1 - 9 and we ate at the Pepper Market twice. Both times the 10% was included in the dining plan on our tickets--I doublechecked both meals. I know others have said it wasn't, but I've read where others also had it included.

If it is counter service I would not expect to pay gratuity and will say so; however, if someone is keeping my drink refilled and clears the table but does not bring food I would expect an 8-10% gratuity to be expected, but never required.

They seat you at Pepper Market, a waitress takes your drink order and brings you your drinks and clears your tables.

This is a counter service not a table service. It is a little confusing because it seems so much like a table service but it is not. There never was an appetizer with a counter service. Generally you don't leave tips at counter service but Pepper Market is unique for a counter service in that they seat you at a table and refill your drinks. Because of this they automatically add 10% to your bill for service charge. (you don't have a choice to pay it or not). On the dining plan the 10% is included with the plan so it not added directly on the bill you pay at the checkout if you were paying out of pocket.

The OP has their answer as far as whether the sandwich is included in the dining plan.

Any further discussion about gratuity can be directed to The Disney Tipping Info Thread which can be found here (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1870320)
