We have just booked a one week stay in Jan. '09 and were wondering which pool area is best for our waterbabies. Also, how do we word our request for that area? (we understand that our request is not guaranteed although we have been sucessful in the past. This is our fist time at SSR so any tips or nuggets of info would be priceless. Tinkyou sooooo much!

Obviously this is just my opinion but I think you should request to be in the Grandstand section and within that section you could request to be in 1 of the 2 buildings closest to the quiet pool. The GS section has a great pool with a water play area for the kids plus those 2 buildings are approximately 5 minutes (walking) away from the main pool and Carriage House. The main pool is zero entry which is great for little ones, too. If you look at a map of SSR (try the DVC member website) you'll see the two buildings to which I'm referring. The GS section is also the first stop on the bus route for SSR if you're using Disney transportation.
Here is a link to a map that another member made....I hope it comes through. The 2 buildings are room numbers 8101-8436 and 8501-8836.

Yup, I agree. I would go with the Grandstand section for the great quiet pool with pool bar and kids splash area. If not, go for the Springs section which is directly across from the main pool which has zero entry and a slide.
Can't go wrong with either one. GS is the first bus stop for pick-up/drop-off; a big plus!

I also recomend Grandstand. Great waterplay area and bus stop around the corner. They also show Disney movies everynight at the Grandstand pool. Perfect for your little ones!

We also requested the Grandstand section for our upcoming trip! Being the first bus stop looks ideal since we will have 2 4y/o and a 1 y/o on the trip! :cool1:

This is great info :) We're using developer points to stay Jan 11-16 :) My DH is staying home and I'm taking the boys and my mom :) It will be a nice trip before going "home" in September
