View Full Version : Eating both Carbs & Protein together really does Work

As a diabetic, having ONE piece of whole-wheat toast for breakfast still raised my blood sugar so today I decided to try having protein also to see what happens - I had one over-medium egg, one turkey sausage and one piece of whole-wheat toast. My blood sugar didn’t go up!

That was easy!

That's awesome for you! I have found that eating protein at breakfast helps keep off the hungries (specifically, an egg beater and veggie omelet). Congrats!

If I have oatmeal with blueberries and scrambled eggs (1 whole egg & 2 whites), and 1 tsp of olive oil (used to scramble eggs) for breakfast - It keeps me going for hours.
