I am glad you managed to enjoy it, even if you were with people who didn't 'get' the magic.
Sometimes people say to me "oh I must come to Disney with you. You could show me what to do" and I am a bit :scared: scared, because I would get irritable if they were moaning.

Great start to your trip report Emma. I know exactly what you mean about being with "non-Disney" people. We went to WDW in November, with my Mum and Dad (again) who are Disney through and through like me, only this time we invited the In-Laws to come who also brought along nephew. Can't bring myself to refer to him as DN I'm afraid!! It was a nightmare. THey had never been before so I packed as much as we possibly could have done into 2 weeks so that they saw everything! There were certainly bits we would have missed off had we been just us and DM and DF. But anyway .... We were staying at the Poly and it just started from there. Really wore us down in the end. We asked them what they thought of the hotel (which was incredible) and there reply was "don't know yet - haven't got anything to compare it to" What was that supposed to mean!!! Anyway, we had a huge flare up at Universal Studios and have vowed never to go with them again! I felt bad for my MUm and Dad as obviously they were in the middle a bit. Anyway - next time its WDW for 3 weeks - on our own!!!! You live and learn!

I haven't told my mum that i am going next February, she previously mentioned coming along with my nephew.
Like you I think its best just me and the children.
At least you got to go on Tower of Terror and RnR, i will just have to miss out on them, DS 8 said never again when i took him on TOT in April!!! I am hoping to persuade him to try BTM again as DD 5 loves it. I am leaving the 2 older boys at home so they can't babysit!

Sorry to hear about your brother and his girlfriend, I've always said I would never go to Disney with family or friends for the reason that I don't think they'd 'get it'. Only person I'd make an exception for is my cousin and his daughter as they are disney crazy like us, only trouble with that is that he may want to add people to the trip that aren't as Disney inclined as us.

Hi Emma.
Glad you had a good trip ( apart from DB and his DGF ;) ). I'm exactly the same - worried if we go with other people that they just wouldn't get it!
We were quite lucky on our last trip and went with friends who love Disney just as much as us!! They 'don't do rides' but just love the Disney atmosphere.
One of the best afternoons we had was just chilling on a bench watching the world go by!!
Can't wait for the rest of the report!! (Only 14 weekd to the January Dis meet up - not that I'm counting or anything!!)

Your little princess looks a picture. I've been catching up and I read that your FSIL called Kyra a spoilt brat - I could hardly catch my breath. I hope you said something to her! It sounds like she was needled by your enjoyment and wanted to be catty (man in a suit comment) perhaps your brother would have been better company without her. You should keep spoiling your daughter - I give mine everything I can afford because it makes me (and them!) happy.

95% of CM's in the park in the shops were wearing lanyards with pins, i even stopped one on her way to work and asked if she wanted to trade.
It looked like some hadnt been approached often to trade so they was more than happy to swap pins with me.:goodvibes

Your DD looks lovely in her Belle outfit. I also nearly sucumbed to the temptation of the Giselle dress, but waited til we were home and bought one in Woolworths only £12 or £15 I think and just as nice.

Its everyday at 4pm and usually till 4.30pm which means you can usually dash out and catch the parade aswell. We usually made it in good time to see the first float go past and then watch the rest.
Seriously worth going to to get that extra bit of magic, I didnt see any adults dancing they was too busy taking pics but i was dancing and singing away.
I have another video from another day in the DLH from another day which i will be uploading soon :) Im sure your have a great trip.

What puzzled me the most was that i left them the breakfast cards and said they don't need to go at the stated time...they never used them and went and paid for there breakfast everyday in Mcdonalds and Annettes and then moaned that the food wasnt good enough.
They also moaned that the buses was busy when they was getting on them :rotfl: Well when your going to the park for 10am etc opening what do you expect?

I'm with you there Emma - they didn't even have an excuse, as they were with a DLRP professional :goodvibes !
I have friends who have been to DLRP once, hated the buses, hated the queues, hated the prices etc, and so won't go back. And I can understand that. But when you know the ways around all those things, it just makes for a completely different and much better experience. Your brother and FSIL had the opportunity to sidestep all the things they disliked, and they didn't take those opportunities. More fool them I say. I'm just glad it didn't spoil you and Kyra's holiday.

They even had a go at me when one evening i walked back to the hotel, might of been a 10min walk but it was a nice walk.
I can understand why my brother may of wanted to lay in once or twice due to his heart condition, but his GF she had no excuse. I think if she wasnt there my brother would of participated much more and enjoyed the experience.

Being a huge Chip and Dale fan when I was little I can tell the difference rather easily.
Chip has a smaller dark brown nose and Dale has a slightly larger nose thats a light shade of brown.:lmao:

I'm not sure what time your train leaves on Sunday but i would make sure I was there early. Ours left at 9.53 and we was checked in by 8am.
When we left we Disney we actually checked in about 6.45ish and our train didnt leave till 7.35 or something like that.
The queues to check was not that busy but i amagine they build up nearer the departure time.

well, i do agree about chillin - *** i dont wanna rush and then have to rush for xmas when we get back, but i dont want to miss anything that i might regret not seeing - like i wanna see one of the shows - think lion king finishes in jan - so want to see it, but not sure how ds2 will be as attention isnt good unless it captivates him straight off..... gonna be hard plannin - but hope that sil doesnt expect us to be wandering round together all the time, as ill have a schedule to stick to:lmao: do i sound mean?? lol
just have to wonder bout eurotunnel now, as been talks bout train times changing - hope they dont change ours, as @ 7.20am its early enuf to get us to disney to check in, hopefully get our room & get to the parks, but not too early that i wont wanna get up - so dont want a different time from that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! arghhhhhhhhhhhhh i want to go now - am all excited (been lookin at ur pics again too lol)

I had trouble explaining that to DD myself, the 1st time we went DLH for 4pm we came out and watched the parade and there was Mickey and Minnie, DD looked at me and I babbled something on how Mickey used fairy dust so he could get to the parade quickly.
Luckily she believed me lol.
