Hi everyone! I am excited to be hosting this challenge!

I am going to make it pretty simple, because, well.. i have been giving scrapping alot of thought lately, and what i have found is - i just kinda miss simple! LOL We are all so busy with this and that - why stress over a scrapbook lo?! ;)

So, your challenge is this:

DISNEY DETAILS

I want you to show me DISNEY DETAILS. What do i mean by Disney Details?? Glad you asked - i mean the little, often overlooked things that you see.. Us being scrappers i am sure are "trained" to not over look these -
Maybe it's the way Disney goes overboard trimming out the parks for any holiday, maybe it's the way the flowers are lined up, mabye it's the arcitecture on one of the building's on Main St., maybe it's a slight hidden Mickey somewhere...
Disney is famous for going the "extra" mile.. and i for one, love to just walk the parks (esp. MK ) and just take in the details of everything -- it doesn't matter where you look - even the bathrooms at Disney are well themed! :rotfl:

So...... show me some DISNEY DETAILS that you have captured!!
:wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

Prize: Well, i have to think about this.. i don't design, lol... so i am not sure what to give out as a prize, but i will get back to you all!! ;)

I will be working on my LO tonight!

WINNERS!!!!
CONGRATS to the following --

RRBB (Robin) - LOVE the layout about the housekeeping, that is one detail that i am sure not many people have taken the time to scrap about! And i loved the black background - it really made the photos pop!! :thumbsup2

Janis - Loved the details that you found, that must be an out of the way trip, as i have been to CC twice and never had seen it! So great job on catching that! I also loved the layout of your photos and the way you arranged the papers! :thumbsup2

You each won one of Britts new Template Packs from SM! Please pm Britt and she will get you your prize!! CONGRATS!!! :wizard:

I'm in - but I seem to have used up a lot of my details for last weeks challenge! :happytv:

But that's okay - I know that I have more.

Maggie:I have never noticed those trolls before. Are they always there or only during the F&G Festival. Very cute page!
Fran:I love your fall colors. I wish I was going to the MNSSHP this year. Maybe next year!

I have a funny feeling that I am going to see a lot of things this week that I haven't noticed before at Disney!

Thanks, Caitsmama, for hosting! I couldn't believe that they had actually re-written all of these Christmas carols to fit the theme of Nightmare Before Christmas. Disney knows how to do details!

Well, I found a few more details hanging around. :lmao: I thought that I'd keep all of my "details" LOs in the same format of last weeks wonderful template (thank you again, Susan!).

I thought it would be fun to play a little game with this LO, too. Now, I'm hoping that you can read the journaling. If not, let me know. There are a few of the things that I can't figure out, so if you know, great! Oh, and this is Fantasyland at Disneyland.

Here's mine...I always read this little plaque as we enter the Magic Kingdom, so on the last trip, I snapped a picture of it, but didn't know what to DO with it....until I saw this challenge, so YAY! I just love this little touch as you enter the park...

Caits -- thanks for the inspiration..... The ultimate "detail" me for on our cruise was listening to the ship's horn bellow "when you wish upon a star" as it left port.... gives me goosebumps... SUCH a magical touch... You are right -- Disney thinks of everything... To record the memory, I decided to revamp a LO of the ship I did a while back, change the title and journal about the awesome "detail." I like the LO much more than the original because it is more menaingful to me now. :)

Ok just looking at the LOs everyone has made for this challenge is a BLAST!! The details are one of the things I LOVE MOST about Disneyland!!!! Wow - such a fun fun challenge!!!

Maggie - LOVE those trolls. How cute! And your hidden Mickey rocks!!

Fran - Those are sooooo cute!!! I LOVE the goofy one! Are the jack-o-lanterns glowing? WOW! How cool.

BriarRose - SO cute!! I LOVE Haunted Mansion Holiday. I have never seen those carols though!! I'll have to look for them when I'm there in a couple weeks!

quiltymom - I discovered the "always look up moto" myself and its so true! There are such great details above your head in Fantasyland. LOVE this. You did a GREAT job!

Diana - the sign similar to that at Disneyland ALWAYS chokes me up as I walk below it. I could tear up right now. I always snap a picture of it. I might have to copy your LO! haha

Christy - you captured the magic of this detail PERFECTLY. It gave me chills just reading about it and I've never heard it! I can't wait to go on a Disney Cruise some day! This page is PERFECTION!!!!

AWESOME lo's guys!!! I am promising i am doing mine today or tomorrow, i had to cram to finish my WDW07 trip last night and upload it to shutterfly, to order a photobook since i had a credit for a free 8x8 book (and there was no way i would have my recent cruise done in time.. LOL)

i am actually thinking about doing my recent cruise by hand instead of Digi!! *gasp*! I want to see if i miss the paper aspect of it.. My computer was just running sooooo slow last night - it took me 1.5 hrs to do 2 layouts! That is crazy!! I could have finished 10 by hand in that time! LOL

Quiltymom is that pirate ship on top of the clock tower?

Yes it is, but it was so small in the large photo that I just put the close-up over where it would be. It's a whole lot easier to see the ship that way. I figured, why not?

Maggie - I just love all those trolls! Oh, how I wish I could've seen them.

Fran - the richness of your LO is georgeous. Now, do they keep those up just for MNSSHP and replace them with the others afterwards?

BriarRose - We don't go out to CA anymore for Christmas, but if we do, I'd make it a point of visiting the HM for sure! The black ribbon is a nice touch.

ngneer - sigh. I want to go back. sniff I like the castle drawing.

Christy - Beautiful! How did you get that beautiful pic of the ship?

I can't wait to see more!

No clue, they just appeared this year for the first time. No clue whether they have non-holiday or Christmas ones planned to replace them. I hope so! The pumpkins glowed at night, very cool.

Thanks Caits for hosting a fun challenge!

Expedition Everest is a feast for the eye! I'm always amazed by all the wonderful things to see in the Expedition Everest queue. They really did their homework because their attention to detail really makes you feel transported to Asia in search of the Yeti.

EE is one of our top three attractions! I really almost get disappointed when we don't have to wind through the entire queue.

My computer was just running sooooo slow last night - it took me 1.5 hrs to do 2 layouts! That is crazy!! I could have finished 10 by hand in that time! LOL

LOL! In 1.5 hours I could not have even hauled OUT all of my paper scrap supplies, let alone gotten 10 LOs done!! Of course, SOME of us are spoiled and have craft rooms where we can leave everything set up... I already told my 5 year old when he leaves for college, his room is being converted! :rotfl:

I'm sad with myself that I didn't get pics of more of these. I thought we'd be coming back to MK on our last day, but we didn't (and then more annoyed because we *could* have gone back with our stupid plane delays!) I have some far away shots of some others, for example, the firehouse has pumpkins carved with a dog & fire hydrant.

I love Hidden Mickeys and my LO shows just a few of them at Rafiki's Planet Watch in the Animal Kingdom. If you're looking for detail, there's even a Hidden Mickey on an ant, but I didn't have a picture of that. These are just a few from the murals there.

Whew! I finally got mine done. I've been thinking about it all week and just didn't make time to do it.

But its done now and I LOVE how it turned out!!

The journaling says: The details at Disneyland are part of the magic! And Dumbo has some of the neatest details in the park! From the magic feathers they give you before you board the ride, to the ride itself, to the elephant and feather crest decorating the awnings around the ride. But my favorite detail has got to be the "Believe and Soar!" saying under the crests! It gives me chills!

I'm having so much fun putting together my layouts for these challenges. And I learn something new with each one I do.
