I am planning on using the dark transfer paper as this seems to be better. My concern is trying to trim around the picture before ironing it on. For example, with the design below, I would need to trim very close and put it on a white t-shirt in order for it not to look silly, yes?

My kids love the "Life is Good" designs and would each like a different one. I am planning on doing 2-3 shirts per person (8 in our family) and don't want to have all white shirts.

I remember reading that it was easier to trim around an image with a border, but that doesn't really "fit" the "Life is Good" shirts, KWIM? If anyone has done these designs on colored shirts, I would love to see pics.

Any input would be vey helpful. I'm trying to place an order for shirts and for transfer paper so I'm trying to plan well. Thanks so much for sharing your wisdom.

I'm not sure how they will turn out once you cut them apart to put on white tee shirts..why not just run them on light transfers?? If you do run on light transfers, don't forget to reverse the design before you run it..

These are NOT mine, but they were such a good idea I (previously) asked the DISer if I could post a pick of it. She had the same problem and her DH cut a wavy pattern around the words. I think it turned out GREAT :thumbsup2 So this is an idea :goodvibes

That is how I did our Life is Good shirts as well (probably based on the PP's pic!)

Thanks for the input and posting pics! It's very helpful to be able to "see" it.

Here's the link to a fellow DISers photobucket:

Just click on "Life is Good" halfway down onthe left side to take you to those designs. And be sure to browse the others as she has great stuff.
