I may have asked this already, because I have been thinking about this for a few days and some senior moments have kicked in, but since we have a DVC resort at the Contemporary now, won't we get free valet parking at the Contemporary and won't we also be able to get rooms at the Contemporary for 25% off?

That sure would make moving for Friday and Saturday night points a lot easier, a bit pricey, but easier and just another option.

No, you can only get villas, not regular Contemporary rooms with the 25% discount. As far as free valet, I would assume so, but remember that the villas are a separate high rise. With no villas in the original tower bldg, I suppose it is possible, though unlikely, that the Contemporary will not offer free valet.

You get free valet at the Beach Club and at the Wilderness Lodge.

I wasn't sure about the Contemporary rooms, (and it makes sense it would only be at the Villas) but I do think the free valet parking is done at all other resorts that have DVC and valet parking.

I think we will get the free valet parking - but not until the building opens so late 2009 or more likely 2010.

I'm almost positive you can get free valet, but not until BLT officially opens. You can get it at BCV, WLV and Boardwalk, all of which have DVC as separate buildings. I asked the valet at the Contemporary in July if DVC members got free valet and he said not yet but try back in a year or so. ;)

Contemporary has valet and if anyone at the new DVC resort will be able to use it (extremely likely), then it should become free valet for all DVC members. You should note that when Disney says there is free valet, there really is not. Part of the dues at AKV, BWV, BCV and VWL contribute to valet costs at their respective resorts (i.e., you are paying a share of the wages for those employees). That is really the reason why it is "free" in the first place to DVC members (charging additional would be like charging the owners twice). Contemporary will have the same arrangement.

Call me a cynic, but it seems to me that valet parking at CR/BLT could be ripe for abuse for those going to MK. I know, you could say the same thing about BCV and EPCOT but the difference is that EPCOT has a much better car parking situation than MK with the ferry and all that.

It wouldn't surprise me if they restricted the free valet parking to guests staying at BLT only. I hope I'm wrong about it. But if they are denying pool hopping privileges there, there's no reason they couldn't do the same with valet parking.

you are probably right Granny - they might add those DVC members with a reservation for a Contemporary restuarant can get free valet parking - but not all all DVC members.

We got free valet at AK before the villas were open, pleasant surprise.
