View Full Version : How do I identify myself as a WISHer???

During the WDW marathon, I will be wearing the singlet for the charity team that DW and I are running for. I do not like to run in a hat and I believe that wearing one for 26.2 would be horrible. I also signed up to be representing the US Army so I will be wearing Army shorts (I always run in shorts, no matter what the temp). I'm a former baseball player so I have my lucky socks (yes I wash them after races) and they are the only pair that I will race in. I want to let it be known that I'm a WISHer but there's not much clothing left to do so!!!! Any ideas????

We have many WISHers that do not wear any WISH gear.
I guess we just know each other from meets & such!

Mel might have some WISH rubber bracelets left...

Temporary WISH tattoo? (Actually, that might be kind of fun!) Seriously, post a picture or provide a little more descriptive info on your gear, and your expected pace. There are many of us working water stops--I'll be at mile 11-- and would love to keep an eye out for you to cheer you on.

Hi, in the past I have simply pinned a "WISH Green" swatch of cloth below my race bib. It is attention getting! :thumbsup2

I am a closet WISH team member.

I have always worn my TNT singlet at races. If I see a Wisher, I just run up and introduce myself as Cruella de Mom. Most people look at me a little strange for a second then they figure it out. and if they don't, I don't take it personally.

However, I think temporary WISH tatoos sound awesome. How do we get them?

Temporary tattoos? That's crazy talk - it's about COMMITMENT! Get yourselves real ones! Big ol' lime green Mickey heads on your calves should do it. :lmao:

Actually I was wondering too - my running partner & I were talking about wearing something fun for the princess half, but I did want to have some WISH id.

I have the same concern since I'm a WISHer, a moderator for DisneyRunning and now I have my own budding blog site which will someday be a training site for wanna be adult athletes. I have clothes for all and I just wear all of it. For a WISH meet I'll do a WISH shirt for races I'll do one of the three. I hope to have a logo soon for PandaEndurance so I'll wear that for my races.

This was posted by Jeff over that the Disney Running site.
Just one of many sites that sell the paper. I've never tried it, but if you want to make them, you just need a jpg file of the team logo, and an inkjet printer.
Or you can custom order them.
http://www.tattoofun.com/

Looks like you can make temp tattoos for just about anything.

I will be wearing my WISH shirt and Disney Running hat for the 5K and the half (I have 2 WISH shirts). Then I will wear my Disney Running shirt and WISH visor for the full. I know they don’t match but I won’t notice because I don’t have to look at myself :) Bright Lime Green/Yellow and Bright Orange. A great combination.

Enjoy,
Duane

I'm in the same boat. I have no WISH gear nor do I have any Disneyrunning gear. I plan to get the Disneyrunning gear next month (If Robert does another round of shirts), but I continue to miss out on the WISH gear.

I wear the same shirt to all of my running events, but since I will be doing two events it leaves me needing something for one of the events.

For some reason I felt out of place without my WISH gear.

For some reason I felt out of place without my WISH gear. Please don't feel left out!
No one needs any special shirt to be part of the WISH team!
If you post here, you ARE part of the team. Period.

I did the first Minnie race without anything WISH.
I found WISHers in WISH gear and introduced myself (big deal since I am pretty shy, at first).
I never felt like I wasn't a WISHer.

Oh yeah I know I'm a WISHer. I just felt left out without the shirt. I really like them. I've done 3 Disney Events and everytime I'm like I've got to get one of those shirts. :rolleyes1

Last year at the WDW half, I saw many WISHers but was too shy to approach. But it was wonderful seeing them there either running or cheering. This year, for when I volunteer at the full, I intend to have something WISH on me. Probably a sticker in WISH green with my user name and WISH on it. That way, the full runners will see the WISH goodness and get the same little pick up I did.

Tracy has a place thta will do one at a time WISH shirts now. It's alittle more than the bulk orders, but will work for those that missed them.

I would really like a bracelet. Where can we buy/get those from? I would also love to purchase and sport a WISH visor but don't know how to get one. Jeff, I liked the one you had on during the races.

I didn't have any WISH gear on during the DL 1/2 and 5K this year. I have ordered a tank though. I just made sure to stop and introduce myself when I saw WISH green and DR orange.

I do have a WISH pin/button that I bought off of Cafe Press. I had it pinned on my purse during the Disneyland 1/2 weekend.

I wouldn't have any WISH running gear if it wasn't for Jeff. He ordered a few different running tops and a visor for me. The visor fits great, I now run with it instead of my CAL hat I've worn for years. As for the tops...those are a hit and miss with sizing and material. I have 3 different shirts and one is too small, one is too large and one the material doesn't breathe very good. Maybe the 4th times a charm.

Temporary WISH tattoo? (Actually, that might be kind of fun!)

I think a temporary tattoo is a great idea! And once I reach 10 posts, I'll put up my quick tattoo design (it looks just like the regular WISH design but with a white background). Tattoo paper for inkjets are available on eBay and Jo-ann fabrics (not cheap but you can get 20 8.5x11 sheets for $30).

That does sound neat. My DW (jbucci) made some nice visors for us while we were waiting for our shirt orders to come in, but it would be fun to have a WISH tattoo on my arm or leg. You can get Tattoo sheets from eBay or Jo-Ann Fabrics. And a quick mod of the shirt pattern works:

Casey,

I just stumbled upon your post. The gal who did the visors/hat order, recently moved to Hawaii, and is a doctor at Tripler hospital. I'll PM her and see if she's willing to do another order. I'm not sure how much time she has on her hands, new doctor, and she's a triathlete.

Carrie did the original flourecent yellow WISH shirts (wicking & t-shirts). Mel did the Race Ready shirts. I think they both closed their orders recently, so likely you'll have to wait until next year or later?

How about a Sticker? You can buy the full-sheet labels. That way you can print your tatoo as a sticker or a lime green mickey head and put a sticker on the front and/or back of your shirt... You could make it as small or large as you want.

Last year AmyBeth had a piece of lime green fabric and would wave that as whe ran by the WISH team cheer sections...

Gee I was thinking of body paint (like how some fans do at football games)! Cuz that wouldn't get nasty after 26.2 miles...:scared:

Ooo even better....combine the alert green body paint with dyed orange hair! :scared1:

Oh and when I was picking up my daughter from kindergarten today, I noticed that the crossing guards wear the WISH lime/yellow color. I could always get a crossing guard vest to fit in at the next WISH meet and call it a day. :rotfl2:

The wristbands can be individually ordered also, but are a lot cheaper if ordered in bulk.

http://www.reminderband.com

I ordered them in a fluorescent lime green with "WISH Racing Team" on one side and "DLF>DNF>>DNS" on the other. There were two versions, one with the letters filled in in black and one with just the letters in lime green in the band.

Here's the original thread with pictures:

Jeff- I'd be all about a visor too if you can get them, my homemade version is ok, but not nearly as nice as yours (or as wicking...)

Jen, Tracy, & Casey,

I emailed and PM's Dr. Lynne, to see if she'd do another order, or if she wants someone else to take over. I'm waiting to hear back from her.

I do like the Headsweats visor. The visor runs smaller than typical visors I wear. I did see an advertisement for the Marathon Guide magazine, they stated that the Headsweats brand of hats and visors run slightly on the small side.

It's all fun and games till someone shoots a Panda and makes a rug.

I had a dream one night that Princess Erica was chasing me around the back yard with a paintball gun, I made a "Bing" sound when ever she scored a hit.
