maybe when the date is closer you will decide to come ::yes::
Maybe but I was looking more at the WB. Who knows? I just need to pay some stuff off with this bonus and save a little. Who knows what the taxes and next years bonus will bring :rolleyes1

the ports for the WB are nice, but I didn't like hurricane season so I choose April. Also I like it being the cheaper of the 2/
Paul and the kids are at a pack meeting tonight. I didn't want to go. I've had a cough for the last 2 nights. I think I might sleep on the couch tonight, I kept Paul awake all last night with my cough :sad2:

Crap I have WB in my head.... :sad2: must change the name of our cruise.
Ian, I'm waiting for you to come up with something spicey and good. We pale incomparision to the WB group they are lost in the wind again ....
Is there an Eastbound Transatlantic thread? Should I perhaps pop over and have a peek in? Are they ready for me?

NO we still need you. You have plenty of time to go over there. Plus you need to help me come up with a catchy rhyme about me not going on that cruise. Mine was lame and I'm not great with words.

I suddenly got worried that Kathe was on the WB, but thank heavens she posted to the OTHER (EB) thread so I'm safe, she's with us...
I really need a name for that cruise or I'm going to doomed.
Barcelona Babes
Barcelona or Bust
Better in Barcelona
I'm in a rut :cool2: help me folks.:sad2:
Bawdy Barcelicous Babes
(OK that might do for you).
Or how about
"To Heck with Columbus, We're Packed and Heading Back!"
I'm going to have to do some serious thinking. I'm not up much on Spain except the Inquisition and the Expulsion of the Jews in 1492. Oh, and Picasso's painting of Guernica.
For some reason I keep thinking that there might be something in Don Quixote worth quoting.
Or maybe something simple and yet so tasteful like:
"Rock on to Gibraltar" or "Gibraltar or Bust?"

Hey Holly how is the popcorn sales for Tyler going? We petered out. Wil got his normal haunts and made ~ $500, but we just didn't have the engery to make the sales at his races like we intended. More focused on the racing, which is fine with me. Willie also decided he was ok with not going for the big goal. Funny that $500 sounds low to him huh? Most of the boys in his pack don't even make it to $200:rolleyes:

Well, look at Holly. She's lucky to have a job that lets her leave whenever the school calls without getting fired. Most other jobs would never be that flexible. I agree that it's hard and something has to slack off somewhere and it's probably the kids, which is the most important job.
Before DD Sandi got married and lived with us while her kids were little....we all had jobs but we all took care of the kids......she had a support group of her, me, John and her brother. We all raised those kids. Whichever one of us could take off from work and run up to the school when they called, or run to a doctor appointment or to a scout meeting. We all took turns if her job was too demanding and she couldn't get off. You need help. You can't do it alone if you work and raise kids. JMHO.

Hi, Everybody!!
Hope everyone is well!! Posting sure has picked up...I guess all the chatter about the new cruises!!
Glad to see many of you are cruising together again! Are you going to join us on the EB???
On the advice of one of our rather good friends from California (who just happens to be a cuddle bunny with fangs) I called the travel agent to inquire how much DCL would charge for airfare.
I found out that they will only book Chicago-Orlando-Barcelona-Chicago, but the fare quoted was really, quite, quite, quite, quite, quite good, so I booked it. Quite.
I was actually a bit surprised. When one books the air with Disney, is the fare locked in? Airlines only book 300 days out from travel, so I'm surprised that DCL would lock in a fare. Unless of course they have negotiated bulk fares.
(PS- the bulk of my years of career was in the airline industry in travel agency automation) Wasn't it amazing? Nan turned me on to it and we got very cheap pricing. However, I called today to add for my MIL and it was all sold out.:confused3 I'm going to keep trying...maybe it might come back??
Thanks Kathe... and Woody...
They just called back to tell us he's out of surgery and they are taking him to ICU... :worried:

JMHO.
I agree. I do know a lot of women that have jobs and they can handle it but the ones that have careers usually have to count on someone to help them. We just don't have that. I know we could pay for it but I never made enough money to do that. There was a cute grandma in the office today making copies. Both the parents are doctors. She told me her back hurt so bad but she had to be there because the child needed her to be there. She of course was a SAHM when her children were young. Her kids feel safe with her being there instead of them. I feel like it is time for her to retire but I also know why she is doing it.

Nothing is crazy if you want to do it. Look at Mr. and Mrs. Woody, they just had a 9 week trip around the world and they're currently booked on 5 cruises. I believe there's no time like the present and you should do it all, everything your heart desires. Go for it Tammy!:cutie:

(PS- the bulk of my years of career was in the airline industry in travel agency automation)
Sounds like a good idea to me.

A visit to Monet's Gardens (http://giverny.org/gardens/fcm/visitgb.htm#visit) was such a beautiful and moving experience.
We also went to la orangerie (http://www.musee-orangerie.fr/homes/home_id24799_u1l2.htm) in Paris to see the water lilies (click on the virtual visit, then Salle 1 or Salle 2, then click and drag the image). Imagine oval rooms built to display panoramic paintings that engulf you.

He's up to about $550 and still going. Yesterday when we picked up a prescription from the psychiatrist's office, he asked if anybody there would like to buy any (we had some spares in the car), and the receptionist made a copy of the order form to pass around the office, so I hope that drums up a few sales. I even asked when I got my oil change yesterday! :rotfl: We'll be hitting more streets in my neighborhood this weekend. His dad says he should be able to get a couple hundred in sales with his co-workers and family. Tyler SOOOOOO wants to be the top seller in his pack to win the prize that a guy in the scout office is giving! It's an inflatable 2-person rowboat.

Sorry, I got distracted trying to clean. This time, I'm not stopping until the whole house is clean and de-cluttered. I want to have a living room that doesn't have all surfaces covered in crap. I want to have living room tables we can actually USE to put a drink glass on or a vase of flowers. I want to be able to walk through the house without stepping over crap. I want to be able to have counter space in the kitchen to try to start cooking, etc.

We are at the moment Deb. I haven't cancelled the second week to book the Baltic cruise, but I would cancel to book another or if we needed to release that money later. Who knows what the economy will be doing. Seems to go from bad to worse!
I'm wondering how you get off the ship after 7 days
gaylean93

That's what I was thinking too. It's less than the first week even.
Besides, John loves the idea of walking off the boat to get a new KTTW card and then getting back on before anyone else. I thank that will be worth it too.
That would be special. What would be great is to not tell the kids and then get back on the ship after they were all sad.

JMHO.
And I really feel for the people who have to. Even though my family isn't in my city, I'm lucky and his dad is the one who gets those calls 2 days a week, so at least I have help. I feel horrible for those who have no contact with the other parent and have no family support.

Well, I guess sick of it is a harsh word. Maybe homesick would be better. I just don't want to be on a bus to see some fabulous thing and my DS refuses to go because he just wants to sleep all day and my DD complains about being bored on the bus. (My DS didn't leave the ship the entire WB repo, I think) That would put a damper on my vacation big time. I mean, I can listen to them complain at home for free. But they will be almost two years older, maybe that would help.

Right friends. We could do with prayers at this end at the moment please.
John has to have a brain scan tomorrow. He went to the doctor's on Tuesday as he has been having growing pressure in his head. The doctor doesn't think it will be anything bad as he also did some tests and John doesn't have other symptons, but the fact that they have got him in so quickly is a bit worrying!! Things don't work that way over here.
We are due to fly out in 6 weeks, so having the scan early is good as far as that is concerned - if nothing is found that is!
We are worried of course, but not looking at the negative implications if possible!!!

Then a visit to my all time favorite museum, Musee d'Orsay (http://www.musee-orsay.fr/en/collections/works-in-focus/painting/commentaire_id/london-houses-of-parliament-3040.html?tx_commentaire_pi1%5BpidLi%5D=509&tx_commentaire_pi1%5Bfrom%5D=841&cHash=f3cd34f147). Just can't get enough of the Impressionism and Post-Impressionism galleries.
In London, we went to the Courtauld Gallery (http://www.courtauld.ac.uk/gallery/collections/paintings/imp-postimp.shtml). (Click on any of the images.) A lovely gathering of artwork assembled from private collections.

And it gives his dad a break too. If we were both in the same house, we'd both be insane by now. When Tyler was suspended 2 weeks ago, his stepmom stayed home with him on Thursday and his dad stayed home on Friday, and he told me that on Friday Tyler was in time-out continually all day because he was just so out of control. That makes for a very exhausting day.

I was avoiding that subject. They're leaking a lot and stinging and John has to come home tonight and wash them with antiseptic and wrap them dry again and then we'll see what they look like again under the wraps.
We were out looking for recliners this past weekend. I need a motorized one because I can't press down with my calves to close it to get out of it. But my leaking should get better or stop if I raise my legs above my heart to help the circulation. So I need to get a recliner. The motorzied ones are upwards of $1k. So I'm still shopping around to find a bargain.

Oh, I'm sorry they are bad again Deb. Keep looking for that chair.
I am sending you my prayer and hope it is nothing serious:hug:

Spain just somehow isn't jolly like England. But perhaps we can borrow something from Monty Python?
"No Body Expects the Spanish Inquisition!"

or if it wasn't for Spain, Portugal would be an island.

Right friends. We could do with prayers at this end at the moment please.
We are worried of course, but not looking at the negative implications if possible!!!
:wizard: :grouphug: and prayers for you and John.
Have you considered the pressure might just be too much cruise planning overload? That's how mine feels right now. :lmao:
Deborah, have a wonderful trip!
Deb, keep your feet up!
Woody, don't you have more packing to do? (Peg wants to know when you are going to squeeze in a visit.)

Hi Jackie.....love you too!!! I'm ordering my recliner tomorrow.....I just called and I'm getting it fully powered for $900 and free shipping. That's the best deal that I have found so far. My feet will be going UP! It takes 4-6 weeks for delivery though. And then I have to rearrange my living room to fit it in here where there's no space for it. Great! Not!

Good Morning All **** (<----- I just realized that the DIS starred out the word I entered. Isn't that rich, considering it's pure latin. Should I try some other latin words and see if they star it out?) Sapiens (and Nan),
You were a very busy group overnight. I run out of steam these days at about 7:30 PM. All I can do by that time is veg.
I think it's due to the even more increased pace at work these days.
Besides, we're deep into "Upstairs Downstairs." We only have about 12 more disks to go!
Big night last night ... Lady Marjorie went down on the Titanic.
On an upbeat note, I'm getting lots of fashion tips. I wonder if I could find a frock coat.
You have time... try ebay... and send Sukie to all the thrifts...
Good morning. I remembr lady Marjorie going down well. Kind of guessed that might happen when she set off on the Titanic to be honest!!:lmao:
This was on the BBC news page today.

We are wondering what party nights there might be on the Baltic cruise, and a Norwegian Troll night looks good. BUT, we need you..........................

Ohhhh Planky's gonna be jealous... or interested... I don't know... :lmao:
Sorry, I got distracted trying to clean. This time, I'm not stopping until the whole house is clean and de-cluttered. I want to have a living room that doesn't have all surfaces covered in crap. I want to have living room tables we can actually USE to put a drink glass on or a vase of flowers. I want to be able to walk through the house without stepping over crap. I want to be able to have counter space in the kitchen to try to start cooking, etc.
STOP DISING!!!! :lmao:
I'm wondering how you get off the ship after 7 days
Kicking and screaming... :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Right friends. We could do with prayers at this end at the moment please.
John has to have a brain scan tomorrow. He went to the doctor's on Tuesday as he has been having growing pressure in his head. The doctor doesn't think it will be anything bad as he also did some tests and John doesn't have other symptons, but the fact that they have got him in so quickly is a bit worrying!! Things don't work that way over here.
We are due to fly out in 6 weeks, so having the scan early is good as far as that is concerned - if nothing is found that is!
We are worried of course, but not looking at the negative implications if possible!!!
Oh Marilyn...    It's probably just a precaution... Like they did for mom a couple of weeks ago... Hopefully it will all be ok.
Speaking of prayers - has anyone heard an update from MIchelle?? :confused3
I'm here...
Waiting for the latest update.
My sister talked to the ICU nurse this morning (we asked her to call because she is a nurse also... and they only want one family member to call except for his wife...) He is critical but stable, ventilated, but he's also helping the ventilator so that means he can breath on his own. He is sedated but lost alot of blood and his heart was a problem during the surgery. They could not do any of the reconstructive surgery after taking the bladder because of previous scarring.
That's it for now.

Code for??? Karl we could have used you during the war... nobody would have figured out you were talking cruises!!!
You'll have a great time. In southwest Spain, we stayed at beachfront properties in Marbella (1 week) and Cadiz (four nights).
Be sure to have some paella -- it's the best.
Woody
So you're going back to Spain with us?? Where is this Mythical Paella that we must have???

Energizer bunny off today?
Nope, but all 3 of his secretaries are back in swing. Vacation is over for the one who was on the Magic last week. It took all 3 of us until today to get almost caught up from last week's chaos. Still not fully caught up, but not in the frantic stage anymore. ;) I feel able to take mini-breaks now and then. Tomorrow there will only be 2 of us though because the fellow DISer doesn't work on Fridays. Lucky gal!
