Well, we walked in and was excited and a bit nervous too... i was hoping for Tokelau longhouse and a view of the small pool, that is what I had requested.
Upon check in at abou 11:30am, our room was not ready. So they couldn't tell us where our room was but told us to stop back after lunch.
We went and ate at Captain Cooks...Although I love the Poly... I don't think their CS meals are the best choices...
We all ate and I went to check out and see if our room was ready and they were... Tokelau rms 3915 and 3916.... so began our walk down the hall...where will our room be???

So we hung out by the pool on our first day. We arrived about 11:30am
By the time we were able to go to our room and our luggage arrived it was about 3pm. All the kids wanted to go swimming.
So we swam and then got ready for dinner...CAPE MAY...we took the monorail to MK and then a bus to the Beach Club. The 11 of us were to only ones on the bus. It was a fast ride there.

We arrived for our 7:25 dinner, our table was ready. The Beach Club was beautuiful... We were seated in a room off to the right where only about 5 table were in this room... very nice.
Our food was excellent.. I am allergic to shellfish although I love it... I do stay away. My parents and my sister loved the pail or steamed clams and mussles, my dh loved the beef. I had pasta and sausage and peppers and the salad..and the desserts we wonderful... the kids enjoyed this meal too, but no characters ... they mostly enjoyed the desserts as well...

WOWZA! Loving it! We stayed at Tokelau last month, had the room on the third floor right in front of the elevator and our view was as killer as yours!

Question about your Cape May....we have dined there many times before and have never seen a clam bucket...how did you get that? Where they at the buffet? Did the waiter bring it to you? We are eating there again next month and DH is a clam fanatic so having a full pail for him would be fantastic!

There were pails at the buffet all filled up... I thought it was so cool... they did look new... pails of mussles and pails or clam in the shell... My dad was loving it...
I took a pail for him each time I went up so he didn't look like he was taking a bunch at a time!!! lol

Thanks so much for reading... lots more pictures to come...I felt funny taking the pictures of food...but it was worth it to bring it back here...

Hi Ang!
I love reliving Disney trips. I live in my own fantasy world anyway-so disneyworld just legitimizes it. I love the names of the longhouses Tokelau-mine was simple though-Tahiti. We had to pass the Tokelau everyday.
Your cape may dinner looks awesome. We love shellfish-those clams look perfect. I think I'll have a tougher time deciding where to stay next because the Poly was an easy choice and now I have ALL the others to choose from.
Great TR-your family is beautiful :cutie:

Oh I am so glad I have readers... Welcome... Thank you for coming in and reading!!!

After Cape May we headed back and caught the fireworks from the beach... this is one of the best feeling to sit on the beach and watch the fireworks from the Poly... very relaxing..romatic too if you dont have 4 kids pulling you in ten directions! LOL
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v497/billnang/DISNEY2008020.jpg

Well we got up a bit late today.. and My sister and her girls didn't have passes for today.. So they were going to hang out at the Pool. we went and grabbed CS from Captain Cooks.. and headed to MK... I don't believe I mentioned it, but it was HOT this whole week... I am umm a tad overweight and the heat was tough on me... so as soon as we walked in we saw....
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v497/billnang/DISNEY2008027.jpg
we walked around and being this was a Sunday.. it was crowded... We only stayed for about a hour..walked in some stores.. I was too hot to stand and wait in lines for rides. the kids were begging to go back to the Poly and swim... So we did... I figured we would go back after dinner...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v497/billnang/DISNEY2008061.jpg
As you can see we really had the small pool to ourselves.. it was great...
After we swam for a while and I got Sun burned... We headed to Kona cafe' for dinner... My parents had never been here and requested it..

I have to run to Open House..but I we report back on Kona tonight...

Great report so far!
Your view was BEAUTIFUL! DH and I haven't explored the Poly yet, but have 2 ADRs there coming up in November...we are fully prepared to fall in love with it...I don't think it's gonna be too difficult! ;)

The food at Cape May looks yummmmmmmy. We don't have an ADR for that, but reason #47383 to go back!

Looking forward to more...

Oh, and you have a beautiful family. 2 kids 1 year apart, eh? You are a saint!

I don't know how other reply to multi poster in one post... can anyone help me with this?

So for now, in reply... Thanks you all for reading anyone lurking, please say HI and introduce yourself...

Jen, I love the Poly for location and the beauty and for the monorail. I would love to stay at the Beach Club but love the convience of the monorail with 4 kids...lol..trying to convince Bill to do a split stay. We have stayed at The Pop and we loved that and French Quarters and loved that oo.. but now we just enjoy the monorail.

brookelizabeth-- Try Cape May... you will love it, it has such a variety.. and I know you will love the Poly... it is just so beautiful. My first two children are 18 months apart then I have a gap and then my last two children are 15 months apart... Lately I feel like supermom... they are all going to school this year my youngest 2 days and my 4 yr old 3 days a week to the same place... my older 2 are staying after school for play rehearsal and I feel like i run a taxi service...my house is still not near being back in order from our trip.

Everyone else...thanks and when I learn how to reply to each post, I will do that!

Well I know I promised Kona..and as soon as I drop off my little one, i will be back with Kona...

Stay Tuned...

So, after hanging out by the pool all say we headed to Kona for a 5:25 dinner... The could not find our reservations...and I had two... one for 8 of us and one in my sisters name for 3 of them... odd that they couldn't find them... but they had a table and they sat us with in 10 mins. My DH wasn't with us...he is a huge pepsi drinker and well as you know, no pepsi in Disney... so he had a huge headache. Plus we swam all day and he didn't eat much. After we all ordered and i texted him a few times, I convinced him maybe he just needed some food...

We both ordered Slow Roasted Prime Rib - mashed potatoes and stir-fried broccoli florets... this was incredible.. You did not need a knife to even cut into the meat...My mom got Shrimp and Scallops - panko breaded shrimp and pan-seared scallops with sticky rice and ponzu, spicy guava-passion fruit and wasabi cream sauces but asked for it plain...she stays away from salt at all cost... the kids and my dad got Teriyaki-style New York Strip - sirloin strip grilled with pineapple teriyaki glaze served with mashed Yukon gold potatoes and stir-fried broccolini and for those of you on the dining plan and your child is an adult...they told us, the kids could get fries or they could make anything on the adult menu to be kids friendly... so the kids got fries... I was overwhelmed here, because my little guy didn't want to sit still, so I forgot pictures...but I did get pictures of what matters the most...dessert...
I think this was the warm chocolate lava cake was the name:

and the kids sundae
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v497/billnang/DISNEY2008036.jpg

ALL were awesome!!!!

So after we left... we headed to MK and watched WISHES and headed back to the POLY...long days and hot days wore us out....

NEXT up: Day 3 Monday Hollywood Studios and everyone begged to cancel the grand Floridian cafe and go back to Cape May because we were so close...we didn't have reservations for here though...will they seat us?

I know how to do the multi-reply but I'm not the best at explaining technical things...but I'll give it a try :)

To reply to more then one post you click on the button that has the addition (+) sign. After you have clicked on all the posts you want to reply to, then you hit the "reply" button. It should allow you to reply to all of them. Try it and see if it will work for you...if not, I'm sorry I'm not better at giving directions :)

Your reviews and photos are great! We've never been to Cape May but are thinking of trying it on our next trip. Half of us eat seafood and the other half doesn't. I'm glad to see that there are plenty of non-seafood options available. I can easily see my dh making good use of those pre-packed buckets! :thumbsup2

What nice pictures you have from the Poly and you had a great MK view, too! Looking forward to reading more!

I'm jumping on board! I found you on some else's TR, can't remember, sorry. My name is Lisa and I'm a dis addict. I would love to stay at a monorail resort one day. The Poly looks beautiful! I can't believe the view from your room!!! I have never seen such a gorgeous, dreamy view.
I know exactly how you feel taxi'ing around your kids. Thankfully my oldest got her drivers license this year and can help out a little and get herself to work.
I can sympathize with your DH with the whole pop situation. I LOVE Coke, and won't drink a Pepsi. So, if Disney was a Pepsi place, then I would've had the same headache. Did you drive there? You could've gone to Hess station and bought some. Maybe next time you could have some delivered to your room, like people have water delivered. My friend made her husband walk to the Hess station from POP to get her some Dt Mt Dew:) That's love baby.
Looking forward to reading more of your TR.

I am really glad I gave Cape May a try... it was really on the cancel list.. I thought, for the first night after the plane and a non park day it was too far...but it really was very simple... I have read the good and bad, I really almost gave in to the bad...We are all so glad I didn't and we went... It had a great variety.

Ohh OLisa, thanks for joining and saying hi... I have so many more great pictures to share... I love reading TR and food reviews...so I stepped out of my box and i am doing one myself!!

My DH started drinking Coke..it was as close to Pepsi as he was going to get...Last year his dad met us in disney and he drove and brought DH his Pepsi...sad to say his dad passed away upon his return home... I do have a friend from VA who also went to Disney and brought him Pepsi cause she is a big pepsi drinker herself... sad to say we didn't meet up with them at their resort to get it! I did get 2 cases of water delivered and boy in that heat we went through it all!!!

Day 3 coming up this afternoon....

Well we got a late park start today.. Again it was so hot... My choice was to swim, got to Hollywood Studios and then try to get all of us into Cape May again... Up to this point we didn't have park hoppers...so we figured being close by we would wing it. On sat. there was a lot of empty tables...
It was a little cloudy, from this picture you would think it was a really cloudy day, but it wasn't..
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v497/billnang/DISNEY2008069.jpg
I really wanted to head to this park more for my little guy who loves Handy Manny and the Little Einsteins... Upon our arrival my sister waited in a line forever long to get a Soda...in that time...my little guy fell asleep, par for the course right... Any other time I would have thought this was a blessing...but today being the only day at this park.. I was disappointed...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v497/billnang/DISNEY2008073.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v497/billnang/DISNEY2008072.jpg
We headed right towards Animations... it was great short lines for all the characters...so we went and did autographs...
I don't believe I told you yet, but I made pillowcases to have the characters sign... This was a huge hit... I bought a pack of 14 sharpies, and put them all on a clipboard... I told each character I had 4 that needed to be signed and it worked out great... I had many other parents ask me about it and compliment them...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v497/billnang/DISNEY2008079.jpg
Nina went to see Handy Manny without Anthony:(

We couldn't get in to see the Animation show because Anthony was sleeping and strollers can not go on the carpet... No biggie, his sleeping was better...
Nicole, Joe and myself went in and went the drawing class and learned how to draw Mickey... It was really fun...both kids acted like I was pulling teeth to get them in there...but loved it!!!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v497/billnang/DISNEY2008078.jpg
We waked around.. and split up... my sister and her girls did some rides... and about 5 we got the boat to Beach Club... We were starving...
after we arrived we heard complaints that their computers were down for reservations...So, in we walked stood in line and they told us NO way could we be seated without reservations... Which meant we needed to find something fast because my neice and Dad are diabetic...They overheard us talking and the man said.. I will seat you as soon as I can?!?!?!?
Worked for us...
They sat us a short time later, again there were empty tables...Constantly changing and putting fresh food, seemed after I took something they replaced it.. but the food was Excellent... Service this time was not so good... The waiter was slow taking the plates away... messed up drinks... overall, did nothing really for us... My parents and ourselves had our own dining card and because we were a large party had to each give 18% gratuity... I am all for that when service is worth it, but $55-60.00 for a tip when service stinks...hmm...but it is Disney and those are the rules...so you go with the flow... I will not post pictures again...if you are new and just reading this... go back to the first page...same pictures again!!! :)

So after dinner, we headed to the bus stop in hopes of doing the same as we did on Sat... NOT the case... we waited for the MK bus... as we were waiting, 2 buses for DTD show up with MK bus behind them... The 2 DTD buses leave and MK bus pulls up and says "Sorry folks MK is closed and I can't bring you there, can only pick up at MK" OK which means we needed to get a DTD bus, and both had just left... Long story short we waited for the next DTD bus, then waited at DTD for a POLY bus... all in all we were either on or waiting for a bus for 1.5 hrs...not fun... So note to self, next time make sure reservations are for a night MK will still be open when we are done with dinner!!!!

OK, next update... Tues Sept. 16 day 4... This is Jess's 21st birthday...we went to 1900 Park Fare for breakfast and I got her a surprise, dinner at Liberty Tree and Halloween Party!!!!

Yeah another update. I SO want to do the animation thing next year. I had NO idea that was even there until I started reading the DIS. I mean, I've gotten Sorcerer Mickey's signature, but I had no idea that you could learn to draw a character! Glad you were able to be seated at Cape May and who cares if you had ressies if there are empty tables, which from your first post, it looked deserted in there. Too bad about the bus wait. That's probably my least favorite thing at Disney, the wait for the buses. But, it's all a part of the experience so I just suck it up.

We had a appt with a photographer for a 12:30 time slot... With the heat we were having, I moved it up to 9:30am...
We all were wearing white, my choice, my mom warned me, white would make me look bigger because she knows how I feel about my weight...but I wanted white and so they all went along, I did tell them all if they didn't want white they could wear something else...

We all got up and my hair and make up and everything was going perfect...kids were cooperating... I went an met our photgrapher upstairs and he told me he would give us a hour instead of the 1/2 hour I pre paid for... Being it so hot already, he did a lot of shots inside, which I was good, with since i wasn't sweating in the AC... I don't have my cd pictures yet, when i get them I will post pictures..sorry... but I can tell you about our experience...

Our photographer was very good, did my family and then my kids, and then each child seperate with me and then each of them with their dad... Then he did my sister and her girls and then individuals...then my parents seperate, and then each grandchild seperate with my parents... then all 11 of us... then we moved outside. He tried to find some shade, well he did a shot of my sister and her girls on the grass...the grass was WET... my neice was so upset with the photographer cause she said it will stain our shirts..he was insisting it wouldn't..guess what.. their shirts were GREEN!!!! cause it was a leaning picture... Whoo my neice was not happy I felt so bad... Our photographer tried to make light of it and said "oh well you weren't going to wear that shirt all day" she snapped back that she was...
He then wanted my family to do the same pose.. I told him I rather we go to the beach... So we did... the pictures really came out great... I will post some when i get them!!!

Take the time to do this if you can... Oh and one thing I noticed, people were lining up in the lobby to get their pictures taken...they didn't realize I paid for this time...

Breakfast on the 16th coming soon...

It is Disney and you do have to suck it up, but now that I know I will plan better for a nother time... I am not thrilled with buses, but thank goodness this was the only time we had a bus issue...any other time was smooth sailing..I never knew about the animations until DIS!!!!
