Earlier this year I found a thread that listed little known fun things you can do at Disney. It had things like waking tinkerbell, starting the fireworks, vets in the flag ceremony, where to buy drinks that gave souvenier cups or straws..... just alot of fun stuff like that. Anyone know where I can find that? We leave in 12 days and Im just now planning. :surfweb:

I got a free email report with a bunch of free things you can find in the parks at http://www.*********************.com/15FreeThings.html
I don't remember them all but there were things like:
* Getting a first Roller Coaster ride at Goofy's Barnstormer
* The campfire sing-along and outdoor movie at Ft. Wilderness
* Free velcro frog from Innoventions
* Free soda samples at Club Cool
* Sending animated e-postcards - my favorite was the one at Mission Space
* Watching the Disney scenes in the window displays at the Emporium in the Magic Kingdom

I wish I'd known about that! My 18 year old daughter and I rode Goofy's Barnstormer five or six times one night during Wishes.
Here's something I've heard about but haven't actually seen - the Disney transportation (buses, boats, etc) have transportation cards that are like baseball cards that you can get from the driver. I've heard conflicting things - 1.) that you can ask for them and 2.) that the drivers are only supposed to give them when a child is upset or being especially good. Does anyone know for sure?

Have you seen this thread on the fiber-optic lights in the sidewalks at Epcot?

As of last year, they gave out cards to those who asked for them. I'd heard they may not have them every year, but they had them last year and we colllected cards from boats, busses and monorials.
You can also asked to ride in the front of the Monorail, which is lots of fun

I definetely know what you are talking about last week we went over a list like say George 3 times in Pirates of the Caribeann and your ride will stop. I can't find that either ;( But I am definetely going to keep checking this thread...

This isn't really a secret but my kids did the Kidcot stations at Epcot. In the Japan & China pavilions, the CMs were from those countries. They wrote my kids' names in Chinese or Japanese on their Kidcot project which my kids thought was seriously cool.
My husband and I rented a kayak at the Port Orleans Riverside resort for 30 minutes - it was around $10, I think. It was a wonderfully quiet way to spend some time together but my seat did get wet. I've heard that the Ft. Wilderness Campground has canoes - that is probably just as nice without getting wet.
People on this board probably already know about the Electric Water Pageant - if not, see: www.*********************.com/activity-electricwaterpageant.html
Allearsnet.com lists some neat things at the Disney resorts - See:

I have to say the free "Velcro Frogs" are the coolest! :thumbsup2
We had so much fun "dressing" them! As a child, I loved paper dolls, so that might explain why I enjoyed this so much! :goodvibes
I was just looking at the Velcro area while waiting for DS & DH to finish up the Segway ride (I didn't go in as I thought it was for children only) and the CM waved me in (he was so jolly)! He showed me the frog he had made (had it on his belt) and encouraged me to dress one as well! There were some apparent items you could put on (eg MM Ears hat, sunglasses, skirt) but other pieces that the CM said "we" (adults) needed to let our imagination free to use! I ended up with a very "cool" frog! :cool1: DS (teen) thought it was cool when he saw it that he and DH even made one themselves!
Make sure to stop by and enjoy this fun (and free) activity... it actually makes for a wonderful souvenier!

I haven't done this yet -we plan to do it and to try the Segway on our trip in December. My understanding is that you have to be at least sixteen years old to try the Segway.
I read a hysterical thread somewhere on these boards where the person was trying to make a Princess Frog but it looked more like a Drag-queen frog. Now I want a drag queen frog! :upsidedow

I went two years ago (when I was 20), I went and I was SO amazed because the bus driver was from the same city I am from. It turns out, when he lived here, he only lived a couple blocks away! :rotfl: He gave me three of the bus cards. :rotfl2: There were loads of kids on that bus too, but he only gave them to me. I feel so greedy because the kids didn't get them :rotfl:

I must say waitng for the front of the monorail is one of the coolest parts that we discovered on our trips. If you get the right driver, they will let your kids blow the horn, and tell you all kinds of neat little bits of WDW. My kids got a honorary captains card after the ride was over.
Also, this might take a little fibbing, but 2 years ago we were married in Orlando and got a just married pin at the Magic Kingdom, and the attention we got was pretty cool, all the CM's went out of their way to congratulate us, and got to jump to the front of the lines on small world, soarin. Like i say it may take a little fibbing but it was pretty neat.
The only other tip i can mention, is don't be affraid to ask. some CM will jump over heels :rotfl::cool1: to make sure your trip is memorable.
