Has anyone tried the Pirate's Cruise with their kids? What ages is it designed for? We have 9 & 10 year old boys and are wondering if this would be appropriate for them. What do the kids do, how long is the "cruise", and how much is it? Any information will be truly appreciated!!

I scheduled my DS for July 8th on the Pirate's Cruise. He'll be 9 years old then . . .there is a member of the DIS who has a page of pictures on it . . .I believe its Janet2K's site . . .check the search feature.

The Pirate Cruise is $24.95 and it is from 10-12. There is also some information on DIS's homepage . . .

I think my DS will have a great time!

My son, now 8, and daughter, now 10, did the cruise two years ago. The ship "sails" from the Grand Floridian and cruises around the lagoon and stops at the different "islands" and they look for "treasure". On the way back they sing songs, eat a snack and split the "loot". My husband and I had a quite lunch. I will tell you that two years ago my 8 yr. old was the oldest on the cruise but still had fun. . Hope my 2 cents helps!

My 9 yr. old DD did this in Feb. She was skeptical as she was one of the "older"kids but the CM's really made it fun for the older ones too... lots of corny jokes and gags. She buddied up with another 9 yr. old girl. There were quite a few older ones on that cruise. It was wonderful for the kids and for us as we got 2 free hours to wander Main St. at MK... something my kids never have the patience to do. But beware it fills quickly and you should call the exact 120 day mark.

If your children don't want to do that they also offer a fishing excursion just for children. My 11 yo has done it twice and loved it both times.

I have photos of all three of the GF's children's programs here in My On-Line Photo Albums (http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/janettwokay/rlst?.dir=/&.src=ph&.done=http%3a//photos.yahoo.com/bc/janettwokay/lst%3f%26.dir=/%26.src=ph%26.view=t) (just click on the appropriate albums once you're in my main album). My little pirate has done the cruise a few times now and is the surliest pirate ever to have sailed on Seven Seas Lagoon (or at least in her opinion she is). My niece, who is much older than my daughter, has done the cruise too and has had a ball. If your children choose to cruise, I hope they have a wonderful time.
