**NOTE 11/01** Hi Everyone! Thanks so much for reading! For the moment I'm just uploading all my pics but I promise I'll add detailed reviews to each post asap!

For anyone that read my original Pre-Dining Report, I deleted it because some unforeseen circumstances made us believe we'd have to cancel our trip. While my DDad still had to have surgery, the date has been bumped to early Oct, and he has been cleared to travel for our vacation! :worship:

Needless to say I was on :cloud9: when my parents told me that we would be going!

So today, I want to show you my Food & Wine Festival - Cities in Wonderland - Food Booth Cards

These were made in powerpoint and each has the Food & Wine Festival Logo, the city & country of the booth, the flag of the country (or city in cases like Boston & San Francisco) and a list of the items available (i'll update once the festival actually starts) with a rating from 1 (poor) to 5 (outstanding)

I have one for each booth and I plan to print them and bind them together as a little booklet so as we eat around the world I can simply rate each item and take notes.

I also have itinerary cards for each day of my trip. The are themed around the Food & Wine Festival and Ratatouille because I found some adorable vintage poster style Ratatouille graphics!

It's great to know you can order combinations of your own. I never thought about that. How do they do the pricing on items that aren't listed, or do you just trust them and not pay attention to what they charge, i.e. the nigiri?

To be honest we didn't even look at the pricing LOL. We weren't expecting a platter we just ordered a lot of sushi and they presented it that way. In addition to the sushi we each got an appetizer (romaine hearts salad, sonoma goat cheese ravioli and lobster salad) and we shared a flatbread (4 cheese with pesto) and a dessert (honey crunch cake). Then we rolled back to the Polynesian :lmao: It was a lot of food but well worth it! :thumbsup2

While cleaning my room yesterday I found my festival guide from 2006 and was SHOCKED at how many items i missed at the Food Booths! I am definitely going to strive to try more this time around :)

I also found my 2006 Party for the Senses program (signed by Cat Cora :goodvibes ) and can fully understand the frustrations with the first 2008 program. Based on what I've seen it was severely lacking in organization. I can understand that menu items MAY be hard to obtain in advance, however, it would not have taken much effort to sort the chefs and wineries by colour. I read somewhere that there is a new event coordinator this year and I bet she got an earful of feedback. Here's hoping that the program is sorted out by the party of the 25th :)

How are you conecting to the internet at WDW. I will be staying at Allstar music - is it worthwhile bringing a laptop along? Will I be able to get wireless internet? If so how much does it cost?

It costs $10/day and every Disney resort has High Speed Internet Access in every room. There is also an ethernet cable in each room. You connect the cable to your laptop and you simply charge it to the room. You get 24 hours of access, ie: sign on at 3pm Tuesday, access stops 3pm Wed.

**QUICK UPDATE**

Hi guys! I'm here!!! :goodvibes

Our flight was delayed yesterday so we ended up with a gourmet dinner of McDonald's when we arrived at WDW hehe.

But, we got a HUGE surprise on check in! We were upgraded to the Executive Suite at Coronado Springs! Its truly incredible and I'll post pictures soon. We've been 5 times during the Year of a Million Dreams and this is the biggest dream we could ever imagine!

I'm on my way to Downtown Disney for an early lunch at Wolfgang Puck Express and some shopping for water and breakfast items. Then its back to get claned up and off to The Party for the Senses tonight! :yay: :yay: :yay:

Our flight was delayed by bad weather, left an hour late and we arrived an hour and 15 minutes late due to turbulence throughout the flight. At 4:40pm we checked in at the podium at Showcase Lagoon. We were given wristbands, told the expected attendance tonight was about 950 and that the gates to World Showplace would open at 6pm. I headed to the gate at 4:50 and found about half a dozen guests there already.

By 5:30, there were easily 200 people waiting at the gates. By 6, there were likely 350 to 400. We were there early enough to be RIGHT at the front (I have a picture to prove it!)

We then made the mad dash to grab your wine glass & plate and rush into the 2nd holding area. We ended up about 3 people deep from the front. Let me tell you, when they call this the "Running of the Bulls" they aren't kidding! At 6:30 there was sheer insanity as easily 750 people surged forward, people took off like their life depended on getting a table and now I truly appreciate what many meant by the rudeness of guests! There was pushing, shoving, and all out war to grab any table anywhere. By the time I got 2/3rd of the way through the hall I sprinted with everything I had and pounced onto a table (when in rome do as the romans do!). It was nuts. I have no issues with people saving tables, but there really has to be a better system than that! We were at the very back, but actually loved the location, it was right beside a stage for entertainment.

At 6:30 there was sheer insanity as easily 750 people surged forward, people took off like their life depended on getting a table and now I truly appreciate what many meant by the rudeness of guests! There was pushing, shoving, and all out war to grab any table anywhere. By the time I got 2/3rd of the way through the hall I sprinted with everything I had and pounced onto a table (when in rome do as the romans do!). It was nuts. I have no issues with people saving tables, but there really has to be a better system than that! We were at the very back, but actually loved the location, it was right beside a stage for entertainment.

I have never attended Party for the Senses but your description here is one of the reasons that I haven't considered it. With my luck no matter how hard I tried, I would be one of the people at the end of the table grab.

Looks like Kona Cafe has had a menu change since the 08/08 update on AllEars. I didn't know they served sushi now. Was the sushi an appetizer or entree? It looks good! Do you remember if there were other changes to the menu? I also didn't know you could get the 'Ohana dessert there, that is one of my favorite desserts ever... but Kona always has some really good desserts too. Are you going to give reviews of your meals at some point?

The menu has changed a little bit, and the Kona Island Coffee Bar is a sushi bar at night now, so from 5 till 10pm you can order sushi at Kona as well.

Yes, I'm definitely going to do reviews! :D Its just easier to quickly put up pics and go over my notes when i get home :)

How was the Ahi Tuna 3 ways at CG? I love Maguro but the pics never look great except yours struck a chord this time. We are dining here in a bit over a month and I'm thinking that looks pretty darn tasty.

The dymamite roll was sooooo good! They also have one called a volcano roll which has a very spicy chili mayo instead of the wasabi mayo that was on the dynamite.

It was a basic california roll, topped with tuna & salmon sashimi and wasabi tobiko, i want another one right now!

The Ahi Tuna 3 ways was very good, but we haven't had it since. We fell in love with the shrimp tempura roll and anything topped with fireball sauce LOL. I would definitely recommend trying the tuna, each preparation was wonderful. I'd also highly recommend the shrimp tempura roll (which isn't listed on the menu - its tempura shrimp, watermelon & mango, rolled with rice paper and paired with an orange ginger sauce). This past trip we had the Spicy Kazan Roll and it was fantastic as well. It was shrimp, crab & tuna, the roll had tobiko around the outside and was presented in a circle with fireball sauce in the centre. The fireball sauce had bay scallops in it that are just saturated with perfect spice! I nearly liked the plate clean.
