Does anyone have any more information on this? I live outside Minneapolis, where the tour is scheduled to be next week, but I cannot find any information on time, location, nothing. I've checked our local papers, the local Disney radio website, local venues - nada. Anyone know anything?

Well, that doesn't help, it just says "Minneapolis." I'm guessing Mall of America, isn't that where everything is held these days?

To the OP...Disney hasn't done a press release regarding the times/specific locations within each city, but after hours of looking I have finally found this link: http://forums.wdwmagic.com/showthread.php?t=351229&page=4
To MinnesotaChill - I guess you were wrong.
Hey everyone...
I just got the okay to be a part of the Minneapolis street team! We'll be hitting the streets on Thursday next week. I'll see what I can do about taking pics and posting a review of the event.
For those of you who will be around, our "home base" will be the Minneapolis Hilton.

Disneybridein2K3, THANK YOU :worship: ! I've been checking the newspapers, Mall of America, convention center, sports arenas, you name it. I had checked some other boards, too, but hadn't come across that one. It's still not a lot of information, but we're getting somewhere. I'm already pulling the kids out of school in the AM to take them to the city to go to the dentist, so hopefully the times will somewhat coincide.

Does it seem odd that the Disney would not market this more? They are coming to Minneapolis in 4 days and there is very little information if any besides they are coming to Minneapolis in 4 days.
If anyone hears anything besides what is above this post please post ASAP..
Thanks!

I looked this morning for info for Indy. All I could find on the Disney website was the date, which is Oct. 10th. You'd think, since this tour has already started, that more info would be readily available.

After searching and searching, I haven't found anything on Indy or the city I was looking for (Washington DC) :sad2: . But I did find some info on Toronto on the disneyworldtrivia.com site:
I'm from Toronto and they stop here next Wednesday. It was announced on the local news station that the are going to be at Union Station (the main train and subway terminal) for morning rush hour (5-9) and then at the Toronto Blue Jays game in the evening. I think it is going to be stops like this everywhere.
Here is the official press release for the Toronto stop:
DETAILS: Disney Parks brings the “What Will You Celebrate?” message in a magical and interactive way to 30 cities this fall and winter, with Toronto being the first stop on the Eastern leg of the tour on September 24. Colourful vehicles – a party on wheels – roll out the fun with thousands of free Mickey Mouse balloons at Toronto’s Union Station in the morning (5am to 9am) and with plenty of exciting surprises at Rogers Centre for the Blue Jays game in the evening. The “What Will You Celebrate?” Tour also offers a chance to win a “celebration vacation” to a Disney park and the opportunity to register for a special birthday celebration surprise.

Minneapolis update...
I just got some info today about the Minneapolis event on Thursday...
We're meeting at the Minneapolis Hilton - 1001 Marquette Ave S.
Meeting at 10:30 and will go until 2 or 3 pm.
Street Team will be in groups of two and stationed or walking in a 3-4 block vicinity of the staging area (Hilton).
Members will be in plain colored collared shirts and khaki shorts/capris. We will have disney windbreakers as well.
We will be giving away 5,000 Mickey balloons with info on the new celebration attached (this will weigh down the balloons). We will be "inviting" guests to celebrate their special moments with Disney.
The balloons will be eco-friendly (which will please the Minneapolitans).
They've also sent me a "reminder" of typical Disney training... i.e. Disney Look, Disney Point, language, stay in character, etc. along with a video to watch about the balloons.
This doesn't sound that terribly exciting - I thought there might be some kind of small parade or something, maybe a character or 2.

I am in touch with one of the event planners to try and volunteer (as a WDWCP alum) and she didn't have any info on the time/place (Dallas)yet either for me. I guess it's being very closely held to the vest for now for some reason.

The official website http://www.disneyparkscelebrations.c...-schedule.aspx has been updated with locations. In Minneapolis, they will be on Nicollet Mall. No times have been posted. Will this be worth it to pull both one of my kids out of school to go to :confused3 ?

The mall tour sounded OK, but now that they posted the locations I have a decision to make.
Let's see...a trip thru the worst part of Detroit with my small child for a Mickey balloon...or stay home. Hmmm..... :rolleyes1

I watched the Toronto Celebration today on TV (couldn't make the 2 hour drive for 5 am) and it was "alright". This is what I witnessed .....
* TONS and TONS of balloons
* small prize giveaways -ears, gloves etc
* computers set up to register your birthday for free admission to the parks
* lots of cast members
* Mickey and Goofy were present
* draw for a family of 4 trip to WDW
The morning event was set up in front of Union Station in downtown Toronto and there is a continuation later today at the Blue Jays/Yankee game tonight at the Rogers Centre (Skydome).
Guess that is about it. I am not sure it would be worth taking children out of school for - if it was early in the morning like this one was, it might be nice to go early and then drop them off at school. Not sure how much will be different in the US, if anything at all. Hope one of you can win the trip. Magical wishes to all !! :wizard:

The site also has Royal Oak listed as well. Royal Oak isn't that far from Campus Marius, and is definitely a better neighbourhood!! But Royal Oak is kinda vague. And still no times....

I was assuming it was Campus Martius and they just had mispelled it. Is that what you were thinking? I have no problem going down there on a weekend with DH, but don't want to go by myself- call me crazy!

I frequent downtown due to work, so that doesn't bother me. However the helpful Horace Horsecollar posted the answer on another thread (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=27777621#post27777621)
It appears that Detroit will have two events. The official website lists "Campus Marius, Royal Oak."
I assume that "Campus Marius" really means Campus Martius Park in downtown Detroit.
Then, there will be a "family fun night" in Royal Oak, around 15 miles north of downtown Detroit. A newspaper has some information about this one:
http://www.dailytribune.com/articles/2008/09/23/news/doc48d9276d4ac63861627980.txt
I think this will be a better option for me. Its closer, safer, and timed better.

It's all coming together!
We are watching 9pm news and they said that there is a new sponser for the Holidazzle parade this year but it's not being announced yet. Tomorrow there will be a practice parade on Nicollet Mall at 11:00am with a "special celebrity guest as grand marshall". Um, I'm guessing that would be Mickey?! It totally makes sense that this Holidazzle parade is really Disney!
Nicollet Mall, 11:00am, parade!!

Well, I haven't heard anything about it through local media (and heck, I work for the local media!) but the website still says Monument Circle, Downtown Indianapolis tomorrow (Friday 10/10).
I'll be there if it happens! I'll have my LGMH on my bag! Look for me and come up and say hi!

Well I can see them setting up from my office window... so it's definitely happening today!

They had a large segment on the NBC affiliate this morning. Mickey and Goofy were on the set with the broadcasters and a huge birthday cake promoting getting into the parks free on your birthday.
I'm going to try and make it down to the circle during lunch today.

I'm going to head down there at 11:30! I saw that bit on channel 13 (Indy - NBC) this morning and hollered to DH... "Get in here! Mickey's on TV." (I'm a dork.)

just ran down and got my balloon and admission on my birthday...
Not too much going on, I didn't see Mickey or Goofy, but it's still early.
They were blasting Radio Disney down there... and it's just cool to see the circle full of balloons!

I'm back from the downtown Indy event.
Well... I know this is blasphemy but, it was actually kind of lame. :confused3 ADP, I hope you aren't making a trip clear from Fishers to see it.
I was there kind of early, but there were no characters at all. Radio Disney was blaring. There were giant Mickey heads and lots of CMs helping people register their birthdays on HP PCs with big flat screen monitors, but it wasn't anything you couldn't do online yourself.
You got an invitation to register to win a free trip, but it was basically just fancy piece of cardboard with the disneyparkscelebrations.com website that we all already know about.
I got a couple of Mickey head balloons. One already deflated in the car on the way home.
Oh well. I got to put my Mickey shirt and necklace on and go downtown for a little Disney fix. ;)
