Additional Payments on DVC Mortgage

It seems to me that I read previously that I can make additional payments via credit card on my DVC mortgage with Disney. Can anyone confirm this for me?

Also, if this is true, do they accept AmEx?

We have paid off more than the monthly amount a few times. I just check the additional principal box and have it applied toward that. (We have coupons)

I did it several times with our original purchase. You just call the MS number and then press the buttons to get to Member Accounting, give them your credit card number, and they will run through your principal payment. I always requested a statement at the same time so that I could check on the posting and how we were doing in paying off the mortgage.
