we would love to stay at Swan and Dolphin but $195ish is a bit high for us. Anyway to get another kind of discount? I've lurked the Swan and Dolphin Q&A for some time but just can't find any kind of discount. Can anyone help??

Annual passholders get a rate of usually 150.00. Also entertainment card holders (also comes with the Disney Club) can get the rooms for approx 50% off the rate - probably works out to around 150 - 175. Also if you are a Starwood Preferred guest there was a special of 150.00 you had to book by May 15 - there may be something on the website for it.

I have an AP and called CRO and was told the AP was not available at S&D because it was not disney owned... true or not...do you know? I do have the Disney Club card, maybe I should try that. Thanks

Not positive, but I think you have to book thru S/D directly for some of the other discounts (AP, Entertainment Club, Starwood). Again I don't know if you have to, but you can book through them directly and they can give you the information on whats available.

Don't bother calling CRO with any questions about the S/D. They are clueless.
You need to call S/D directly at 1-800-227-1500. You also need to call during the day, and, I believe, Mon-Fri (not sure about that tho'), else you'll be connected to National Reservations, and they know little more than CRO.
You could also check with either Dreams Unlimited or DreamRes, both available on this site.

We have a AAA rate of $162.50 plus tax for a standard view room. This is at the Dolphin from Aug 12th -16th. This is 50% off of rack rate.

You have to call the 1-800 number for the Swan/Dolphin, CRO does not book the rooms as it is not a Disney owned property. They do give an Annual Pass discount - I stayed there in December with my Annual pass and the room rate was 150.00 plus you get upgraded to a waterview room and also get a late checkout of I think it was 2:00 pm. They have only so many rooms set aside for the AP discount but I have booked twice with no problems.

If you join the Disney Club, you can get a rate of ~$155 for a standard room, and you can also get discounts on your park tickets.

I have cut and pasted parts of a special deal I was informed about through the starwood preferred guest program. It is free to become a starwood preferred guest, and you get a host of special things like free upgrades, turn-down service, and free nights once you have a certain number of points. I would check it out. You would want to get a preferred guest member number before you booked the room, I would assume. I think that if you go on starwood.com, it will give you information about becoming a member. Again, it doesn't cost a thing.
