COMPLETED! :yay:

Hello there!
Welcome to my dining review! After taking countless pictures at Disney (many of them food) I decided to start up some reviews. It'll be fun. :thumbsup2

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC00224-1.jpg

We were on the basic DDP AND stayed Beach Club Resort Club level (Now THAT'S a lot of food! ) The Beach Club was an INCREDIBLE resort!
The family even let me take pictures of their food! Well, most of the time. Sometimes it's hard to snap a pic when someone's already gorging. You have to be creative! But don't worry. I took over 200 food pictures this trip just for you DISers. :rotfl:

I'm going with my parents (M and G) and siblings (C and D). Names are just shortened for quicker typing...and I like how they sound too. :teeth:

We arrived in Orlando around 11AM. Our Parkhoppers were for 10 days so we didn't go to the parks on the first 4.
Upon arrival, we were told that we got upgraded to concierge! :cool1: We were SO excited. What a great start to the vacation!
I'll find some time to squeeze in the concierge reviews, but now it's time for the first WDW meal. :)
We decided to go to Downtown Disney. The only place that came to mind was Earl of Sandwich.
After hearing SO many reviews about EoS on DIS, I couldn't resist begging, err..suggesting, that we make EoS our first meal.
We paid OOP for this one, so no desserts here.

Now, this was the first time I was prepared to take pictures of food so I was a bit nervous. Flash or no flash? What about
the tables to my right? They'll think I'm strange! But I'd never see them again so I snapped away!

I wanted to try The Original 1762 - fresh roasted beef, cheddar and creamy horseradish sauce

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC02401-1.jpg

Okay. It was alright. I was expecting something more after hearing about it so much here. It tasted like I was biting into a cheeseburger, which was good. Cheeseburgers are good. But I think it was the horseradish that I wasn't too fond of. I guess I just don't like horseradish in general.

Dale (brother) and I both ordered a different sandwich so we could split them. He liked the Original more than his. I liked his more than mine.

He ordered the The Full Montagu - roast beef and turkey with cheddar and Swiss cheese, romaine lettuce, tomato and Earl's mustard

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC02402-1.jpg

This one I liked a lot. It was really good. The mustard made it a little spicy (or maybe it was because he added extra dijon mustard after ordering it.)

Mom
got the Tuna Melt - albacore tuna salad and Swiss cheese

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC02403-1.jpg

I apologize for the dark picture; I didn't use flash.
She really liked the Tuna Melt. It's what I think I'd get next time. It looked really good.

Mom ordered Chip a kid's Roasted Turkey and Swiss sandwich but he never ate it. Nobody opened it so it ended up in the garbage. :guilty: I didn't get a picture of it.

The bread is what MADE the sandwiches. It was really crusty on the outside but chewy on the inside. It was hot and I could have eaten it by itself contently.

For dinner we ordered pizza out. It wasn't WDW's so it was good. ;)

Next up, Day 2! Boardwalk Bakery. I might start with the concierge offerings because we didn't eat much on day 2. (:scared1: )

Here we are at our 2nd day of wonderful Disney. In the morning, we ate breakfast on the balcony and sat outside in the warm Florida sun. Today we decided to revisit Downtown Disney and make a sidetrip to the other Epcot area resorts. We visited the beautiful Swan and Dolphin and the Boardwalk.

We didn't eat anything at Downtown Disney, except for these:
http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC02505-1.jpg
Peanut butter filled Ghirardelli chocolates. I wonder how many they give out a day! Everytime we stepped into Ghirardelli someone was handing these chocolates out.
Peanut butter is my favorite. I could eat peanut butter sandwiches every day, really. And peanut butter dipped cookies, apples, and bananas! The best! These chocolates weren't like Reese's Cups. The peanut butter is liquidy and there are tiny crunchy bits of peanuts in there. I had a lot throughout the trip. (And bought some packs back home!)

After some more Downtown Disney shopping (and several "pinch me, I can't believe I'm in Disney!!" requests later) we walked over to the bus stops and took a bus to the Swan and Dolphin. Every bus came at LEAST twice until the Swan and Dolphin one came!

Ahh..the Dolphin. Home! I love the Dolphin, and visiting again made me so happy! We first went into Picabu, just to look around. After that we strolled to Daisy's Garden and bought a pack of these:
http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC04403-1.jpg
These are AMAZING. They're creamy and coconuty and chewy and chocolatey. We actually made a really funny scene at Daisy's. After opening a package, Mom and I had a coconut patty each. (There are two in a package.) After finishing it, we walked back into Daisy's and proceeded to buy 6 more packages! :flower3: We even brought home 8 big boxes of them (with 12 individually wrapped coconut patties in each) and gave them away as souvenirs.

After leaving the Dolphin, we walked over to the Boardwalk. Dale was hungry but didn't know where to go eat. I pointed to the Boardwalk To-Go stand and he decided to get a hot dog.
"One hot dog please." WAIT! Mom walked up to the counter and said "Why don't you get a foot long? Give him a foot long."
Well, the foot long was HUGE!
http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC02475-1.jpg
That picture did NOT do it any justice. The hot dog was SO much bigger than it looks. It was really funny! And he ate it while we browsed around in Seashore Sweets.

We then walked to the Boardwalk Bakery. Chip wanted a Mickey Cake. He remembers having one last year and requested it, so we got him one.

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC02480-1.jpg
Aww, this one is a little messy. Last year's Mickey Cake was perfect! He ate this one all, but left me a bite. It's golden sponge cake with colorful sprinkles inside. Nothing special, but you know what we say about Mickey shaped food! It was still really good. ;)

That's actually it for today. I fixed my concierge reviews dilemma by reviewing the club room after I finish all the other reviews so everything is more organized.

Next up, Day 3! Planet Hollywood. :woohoo:

They're wrapped packages so they should be at most gift shops and WDW stores. I'm pretty sure they had boxes of them at World of Disney. They were by the packaged sweets (like the chocolate covered pretzels, assorted chocolates, etc.)

So, here we are at Planet Hollywood. Today was another DTD day. Nope, nobody's bored. We've explored every nook and cranny of DTD since the first day, but that's okay! We're in Disney; nobody's getting tired of it under my watch. :snooty:

Planet Hollywood is huge and chock-full of entertaining memorabillia. I loved the atmosphere.

We started off with the
Parmesan Spinach Dip - creamy parmesan cheese dip with spinach and mushrooms served with crisp tortilla chips and pico de gallo $7.95
http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC02556.jpg

This was really good. The spinach dip was hot and gooey. When you stick the tortilla chips in the dip, the cheese would stretch out; it was really stringy. We finished all the tortilla chips and had extra dip so we requested some more chips. The chips came in a minute and we ate 'em up.

Both Mom (Minnie) and Dale had the
Mushroom Onion and Swiss Burger - sauteed fresh mushrooms and onion layered on top of our classic burger complete with imported Swiss cheese $11.95

Minnie subbed fries for mash.

Here it is:
http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC02562.jpg

And here is Dale's:
http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/b.jpg
And here it is again after they decided that a close-up would be best for my reviews:
http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC02563.jpg

They both ate it all so it must've been good. The mashed potatoes were kind of dry. They were creamy; not chunky. They didn't taste very buttery either. Minnie didn't like them so she asked the waiter for fries.
The fries were really crispy and good.

I ordered a turkey burger and subbed fries for mash:
http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC02560.jpg

I love mashed potatoes so usually when a restaurant can sub fries for mash, I'll take it. These were just okay...not the best mash I've tried. They didn't really have a taste but I ate it anyway..
The turkey burger was great. Really juicy and not dry at all. I used some of the leftover Spinach dip for it and that tasted really good on it. :teeth:

Overall, we liked our Planet Hollywood experience. Usually we go to Rainforest Cafe but wanted to change it a little. The atmosphere is fun but it's really loud in there!

Next up is Day 4, Beach Club Marketplace!

Day 4 coming right up.

Here we are at our 4th day of Disney. :woohoo:
For breakfast, we walked over to concierge and ate there. :goodvibes
Today was a no-park day. We start the parks on Day 5! So, today we stayed around the lovely Beach Club.

On the DDP, we ate at Beach Club Marketplace for lunch.

I had the Grilled Vegetable Wrap $4.99
Here it is opened so you can get an idea of what's inside:
http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC02672.jpg
This was given cold, but if you'd like you can heat it up at the Marketplace's microwave. I think it'd be best cold, though.
The veggies were very fresh and crunchy! I really liked this. Inside was asparagus, carrots, onions, mushrooms, and some tomatoes. It tasted like they put a red pepper hummus in it too.

And Dale had a Roast Beef and Brie on Ciabatta Roll $6.99
http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC02671.jpg
Eh. He ate it but didn't like it at first. I just don't think he likes brie...so after picking out the cheese it was declared okay.

Minnie had a Made to Order Salad $8.19
http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC02676.jpg
Very fresh and this was HUGE. Great value..it was a dinner sized salad portion..but don't get your hopes up too much because they recently (meaning last month or so) cut the size of the bowl in half! I was let down to see the new bowl size....
Anyway, there's a salad station where you pretty much tell the person up front what kind of leaves you'd like and what toppings. This has everything but nuts, cranberries, and egg. The grilled chicken was very good. It's topped with ceaser dressing. We got salads from here about 4 times during the trip. They really are great.

Dessert time. :)

Dale had a vanilla cupcake:
http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC02673.jpg
Sponge cake with vanilla frosting and Mickey sprinkles. I wonder if they sell those Mickey sprinkles? I love them! The cupcake was fine, nothing special, but it satisfied a sweet tooth.

Minnie had a coconut creme bar:
http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC02675.jpg
I really can't tell you how it was because it stayed in the bag for a while before we threw it out..it looked really good though.

I wanted something light so I got a fruit tart:
http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC02674.jpg
And light it was! The custard was subtly sweet but the fruit really made it sweet. The fruit on top was very fresh tasting! I enjoyed it.

Our drinks were water, Coke, and a Caribou ice coffee (which we got many times as a drink but I don't think anyone actually ever opened it..):confused3

A perfect lunch to a perfect day. We ate this in a seating area outside by Stormalong Bay and it was very nice outside!

We ate at concierge for dinner. We really weren't going to..but it was so tempting...so we said we'd only eat a little bit before going out..but we ended up eating until we were full enough to pass on dinner. ;)

So, this is the start to our more food-filled adventure.

For breakfast, we ate at concierge. This place is the best! It's nice to wake up in the morning and sit there before heading out to the parks.

Today was our first park day!! We were extremely excited. It was between Magic Kingdom and Epcot for a while...we picked..
http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC04088.jpg
That's right; Epcot! Ahh..Epcot. I love the World Showcase. And the Beach Club is so close to Epcot! When you walk outside the hotel, Epcot is a 2 minute walk away. This was kind of amusing. We spent nearly every day in Epcot at some point.

We walked around the whole World Showcase before stopping to decide on what we wanted for lunch. I suggested Tangierine Cafe in Morocco, and that's where we went.

Minnie had a Mediterranean Wrap - served with Tangierine Couscous salad and lentil salad. Chicken $8.95
http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC02761.jpg

It looked good. I tried some of the lentil salad and liked it, but nobody else agreed with me. Everything else was good too.

Dale had a lamb Shawarma Platters - served with side of hummus, tabbouleh and Tangierine CousCous salad with fresh Moroccan bread. Lamb $11.95
http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC02764.jpg

The platters were good. I had the same thing, except I got chicken instead of lamb. The chicken is very moist. This made a nice CS meal. The hummus was really good on the bread. I really liked the cous cous and the tabbouleh was cold and refreshing. They use an ice cream scoop for that hummus. The CMs really give you a good portion of it.

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC02762.jpg

Chip just had french fries.
http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC02766.jpg

They give you a paper plate filled with fries. It was a great value too, because it was less than $3 among all the other things that we've gotten.

The three of us, excluding Chip had the baklava for dessert.
http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC02765.jpg

These were really good. I love baklava, so it didn't dissapoint. They were very sweet and sticky being a honey-drenched dessert.

Tangierine Cafe was great. We'll definitely go again. It was air conditioned inside, so a great place to relax in the middle of the day.

After Morocco, we went around Epcot more and did a few rides in Future World. After heading back to the World Showcase, Dale decided that he wanted something..Crepes were a snack credit and France was close, so that was what we chose.
Crepes au chocolat, confiture de fraise ou sucre - crepes filled with chocolate, strawberry preserve or sugar $4.00

He chose the chocolate one.
http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC02770.jpg

They make the crepes right in front of you so they're hot and fresh. I didn't have any, but it looked pretty good and it was gone in a few seconds.

Next up is Cantina de San Angel.

Pirate Me

First of all, I'm so sorry for the late update! I got caught up in a lot of things and left this alone a bit.

After our day at Epcot, we went back to the Beach Club. We were headed to the room when C ran to concierge. He loved watching TV in there. :thumbsup2 We followed him and saw the dinner food. They had so many appetizers and such. I'll post the concierge food all together at some point. Everything there is so good!

We snacked a bit (loved their corn chowder!) and then went back to Epcot for the night to watch Illuminations.

Oooh no, we were planning on eating at Cantina de san Angel! Well, it's Disney and we'll eat whatever we want, even if we ate already. :snooty: This has become common practice at the BC. Before dinner, we would go into the lounge and snack. Depending on how much you eat (meal or snack!) the lounge is the perfect place for a quick appy before dinner at a restaurant.

D ran to get some fish and chips because he didn't want anything from the Cantina.

Fish & Chips - 2 strips of fish served with chips $7.99

which came with a dessert.

Shortbread - $1.69

I didn't take a picture of D's meal. The fish looked SUPER GREASY! I think I gagged. He claimed that he liked it, though. The shortbread was a small package of Walkers shortbread cookies. I LOVE those. They were soft and buttery. Very good.

So, we walked through the International Gateway to the Mexico.
DUCKS are everywhere by Cantina de san Angel. They're all waiting for someone to sneak them a bite of Churro (which quite a lot of people were doing!)

We honestly weren't that hungry...we got two Plato Combinacions and shared them amongst us.

Plato Combinacion - chicken taco, beef burrito and a quesadilla served with black refried beans and Mexican salsa $8.99

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC02787.jpg

I liked the Mexican salsa on top of the tacos. The quesadilla was a bit tough...but the beef burrito was my favorite. It was really soft. Loved the black beans as refried beans are one of my favorite sides. We'd definitely come here again. The Plato Combinacion has a lot of food so it was easy to share. I have to admit, I've read some bad reviews about this place and it made me wonder if it was a good idea but we really did like it.

We were on the DDP so we got two packages of Bimbunuelos.

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC02786.jpg

Let me tell you, if you want to enjoy the Bimbunuelos just don't look at the nutrition facts on the back. :scared1: They were crispy and sweet. I didn't care for them, but M and D liked them.

Drinks were Dasani bottles.

Next up: Yum! Main Street Bakery! One of my new favorites.

Day 6!

Today was a Magic Kingdom day!

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC02846.jpg

We skipped the lounge this morning (:scared1: , I know!) because we HAD to go to the Main Street Bakery on an empty stomach. This place has crazy lines, though. I definitely think it's worth it but man, the lines were so long!

When we finally got to the counter, we got one French Toast Loaf, one Cinnamon roll, and one ham, egg, and cheese croissant.

Now, I heard somewhere on DIS that they discontinued my precious French Toast Loaf?! It was the BEST thing I tasted at Disney! I can't believe they'd discontinue something so good. :sad1:

French Toast Loaf
http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC02843.jpg

Oh, this was SO soft, warm, and chewy! It was coated with powdered sugar that melted while we were eating it. It was SO rich and yummy. Perfect way to start a magical MK morning. :wizard: We took some maple syrup packets and dunked it in there.

Next was the cinnamon roll.
http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC02842.jpg

Now, this was HUGE! It was soft and easy to pull apart and share. Rich and chewy..definitely one thing we're going to get again!! I haven't found a better cinnamon roll since. They're so big that it almost seems impossible to tackle by yourself. It's so rich, I'd be full by the time I'm halfway full.

And the ham, egg, and cheese sandwich.
http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC02844.jpg

This was one of WDW's better breakfast croissants. The croissant was buttery, flaky, and pulled apart. The ham was tender and the eggs were really good. The eggs weren't tough at all. Perfect! I liked it better than BC Marketplace's breakfast croissants.

We got fruit bowls with the food. Compared to everything else, it was eh. Just wanted to feel healthy after eating all of that food. The grapes were really crunchy, though.

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC02845.jpg

And that was Main Street Bakery! Definitely on top of the to-do list for next time! Everything was perfect.

I'm glad you're enjoying it. :) Writing the report helps me reminisce about the trip. I just don't think the food here compares to Disney... Maybe because hardly any of it is Mickey shaped?

Ahh, Beaches and Cream. I've heard so much about it on DIS, so it was put on the must-do list. Now, we tried several times during the trip to get a Kitchen Sink, but just never did... Hopefully next time. :thumbsup2

We all pretty much ordered the same thing.
Cheeseburger - A juicy beef patty served on a fresh baked bun. Single $8.99; Double $11.49

Two cheeseburgers, mine without the cheese.
http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC02901-1.jpg

One of WDW's better burgers; simple and good burger. I must admit, the patties were pretty flat...I like them better at home (There, I said it!) because we make them a lot bigger. The fresh baked bun was SO good, though. I think it pretty much made the burger. Fresh lettuce and tomatoes topped it off. D gave me his lettuce and tomatoes because he isn't a fan of them.

A side order of onion rings:
http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC02906.jpg

The onion rings here are soo good. The onion wasn't stringy at all and it didn't pull out of the batter- who likes when that happens? :confused3 They were really hot and cripsy. I'd definitely order them again.

A side of french fries:

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC02904.jpg

C just wanted french fries as he just ate a Mickey bar and wasn't hungry anymore. Standard crispy fries. No complaints here.

Now, we were all set to get the No Way Jose (I love peanut butter!) but nobody was hungry anymore. Ahh, I kept on telling myself "Maybe later on in the trip." but it never happened, just like the Kitchen Sink.

Although the No Way Jose can be easily duplicated at home with vanilla ice cream, hot fudge, and melted peanut butter, I just never attempted because I wonder how it could be better than Disney's. :confused3

Well, I guess I should put that on my elaborate list of "maybe next times".

We'd definitely come here again. Fun atmosphere, especially when someone orders the Kitchen Sink!

"A WHOLE can?" :teeth:

Okay, after Beaches and Cream we hung out in Stormalong Bay. Definitely one of the top reasons that BC is the top resort choice. Well, that and the fact that DVC members can't use SAB when they're staying at any DVC resort other than BCV...

But back to the food. :teeth:

We took a bus over to MK for dinner and Wishes. Our view from BC showed Wishes fireworks and Illuminations! It was really nice.

Finding ourselves in Adventureland, I knew that I wanted a Dole Whip, so I used my day's SC on that (okay...we paid OOP for a lot of snacks).

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC02898.jpg

Mmm. Cold pineapple juice with pinapple soft serve. Definitely a Disney must-do. Dole Whips are the "pinch me, I'm in Disney World" snack that I need to have at MK. I prefer it just the soft serve. The juice makes it a little messier- not that there's much wrong with messy. But Disney really knows how to pour a soft serve into a plastic cup economy style. It looks like a lot until you take a spoonful and there's a hole in the middle to the bottom. :rotfl: No matter...still creamy and good. :thumbsup2

We decided to eat CS at Colombia Harbor House today. Okay, I'll have to thank you guys here. We wouldn't have chosen CHH if it weren't for the tuna raves from here. So, thank you. :thumbsup2

And I'll assume that you know what I ordered.

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC02974-1.jpg

Anchors Aweigh Sandwich - white tuna with lettuce and tomato on toasted multigrain bun $6.99

I loved this. The bun..err, well I wouldn't call it a bun- multigrain loaf bread? :confused3 Whatever you call it, it was really good. :teeth:. The bread wasn't soggy from the tuna. The top was slightly crispy. Tomatoes and lettuce were fresh. They weren't cheap on the tuna either. I'd order it again. :thumbsup2

Two orders of these:

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC02975-2.jpg

8 Chicken Breast Nuggets - Served with French Fries or Apple Slices $7.69

I snuck a bite of chicken. People rave about WDW's chicken fingers. The new nuggets taste just the same as the old strips, just a different size. I like Disney's chicken nuggets and would get them at a CS if there wasn't much of an option. They're good but pretty standard at most CS locations.

Dessert time! 3 CS meals means 3 CS desserts.

I chose an Apple Crisp.

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC02977-1.jpg

I love apple crisp...this was okay. It wasn't flaky or crispy, though. It was actually kind of soggy. I ate the apples in the middle but left most of the crust.

D wanted chocolate cake.

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC02979-1.jpg

I had the little chocolate thing on top but he ate the rest so I can't really say anything about it. He said it tasted artificial...that can't be too good.

Fresh fruit bowl!

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC02978.jpg

I don't like canteloupe but I do like honeydew. The melon was mushy but the grapes were crunchy.

And chips.

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC02976.jpg

Sea Salt chips are my favorite but there's not much to say.

I really like CHH. It was very quiet and empty at night...if it is crowded you can always try sitting upstairs.

Next: Oooh, a favorite!!! 50s Prime Time Cafe.

Ooh . . . I love that you can get a fresh fruit salad as your dessert at CHH! I always thought if you asked for fruit it would be the grapes from the kid's meals. I love my sweets and baked goods, but when it comes to those pre-packaged "desserts," I would much prefer a good fruit salad.

It was DHS day and we wanted lunch. 50s Prime Time was actually one of the last ADRs I booked before the trip. I was reading about Prime Time here a lot and thought that it would be a lot of fun to try out. There were still several PTC ressies open for our week which surprised me because I was hoping that they wouldn't be completely booked.

The inside is so cool. There are cookie jars and knick-knacks on shelves on the walls, tiny TVs from decades past playing shows like I Love Lucy. Definitely gets points on atmosphere. :thumbsup2

We checked in and were seated at a table right in the front. Not good. :sad2: It was a TV table but nothing at all happened. The waiter didn't try to be anything more than one that was anywhere else. Next time, I really want to request a better server or sit in the other room. I heard so much going on in the back and we kind of wished we were there... The food was still good, however.

We ordered
Beer-Battered Onion Rings - served with horseradish sauce $5.99
as an appetizer.
http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC03031.jpg

Prime Time has great onion rings. They're up there with Beaches and Cream but I liked them better because that Horseradish sauce was really good. I didn't find it too spicy (then again, I love spicy and pour hot sauce on everything) but it definitely had a great flavor and nice kick.

YES, you can get milkshakes as drinks on the DDP. We did. :woohoo:D and I both got Milkshakes and Malts - $4.99
I love peanut butter and jelly sandwiches but wasn't sure about it in milkshake form. I also love chocolate and chose that as a safe choice. D was slightly more adventurous and went with the pb&j milkshake.

Chocolate shake:
http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC03032-1.jpg

PB&J shake:
http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC03033.jpg

I apologize..I didn't rotate it so you'll have to rotate your head/computer sideways. :upsidedow

First, I spooned a bit of D's milkshake to see how it tasted. I really liked it. It definitely was peanut butter and jelly in liquid form. But not too liquidy-formed (liquid-formy?) because Prime Time's milkshakes are AMAZINGLY THICK AND RICH. Ooh, I love shakes and I've never had a better one...
Personally, however, I preferred chocolate to the peanut butter. Just a classic and has always been my favorite because I'm really not a vanilla person and have never thought that I'd prefer strawberry. They give you so much milkshake. I couldn't gulp down half of it.

Okay, back to solid food. ;)

C had a kiddie meal.
Kids' Picks
Choice of 1 appetizer, 1 entree and 1 dessert - $7.59

He wanted Chicken Noodle Soup as an appetizer.

And Chicken Nuggets as an entree.

No comments..I didn't touch his food. He wouldn't like it. :flower3: He slurped down the whole soup but didn't finish his chicken nuggets.

I wanted the
Mom's Old-Fashioned Pot Roast - slow-cooked until fork tender served with mashed potatoes, carrots, celery and onions $16.99

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC03035.jpg

Yum...I love mashed potatoes and this dish had SO MUCH of it. The pot roast was right on top but underneath were the mashed potatoes. They were so good.
The pot roast was really good too. It was definitely tender. I turned it upside down so some potatoes can get the gravy too.. :upsidedow It wasn't fatty at all and definitely not stringy either.

M had the
Aunt Liz's Golden Fried Chicken - served with mashed potatoes, chicken gravy and southern greens $14.99

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC03037.jpg

Yum. The fried chicken was so crispy and the inside was nice and moist. There's a lovely ice cream scoop of mashed potatoes smothered in gravy on there too. She subbed corn for southern greens.

D wanted
Dad's Traditional Meatloaf - a blend of beef and pork topped with tomato glaze, served with mashed potatoes, and green beans $14.99

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC03039.jpg

Hehehe, he was going to get the pot roast but last minute decided on this. Apparently the meatloaf portion didn't seem big enough to him. :rotfl:He ate it all anyway. No "clean your plate" sticker with this waiter. :guilty: Look at all that gravy on the mashed potatoes. He subbed corn for the green beans.

Dessert time. :cool1:
We were so full but DDP means dessert. We should have gotten those milkshakes as dessert. They were so rich and really filled us up. Oh, well. We chose to get three desserts and share them.

Dad's Brownie Sundae - brownie with vanilla ice cream, hot fudge and caramel topping $5.99

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC03052.jpg

That brownie is SO thick and rich. Yum...the M&Ms and popcorn was a fun addition. C loved this and ate all the vanilla ice cream (he's the only one in the family who likes vanilla!)

S'mores - $4.79

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC03051.jpg

Ya know, I hear so much about the s'mores here that it almost seems like they whip 'em up with some magical potion. But I thought you could make better s'mores at home with a graham cracker, marshmallow, and fun sized Hershey bar in the microwave. Nonetheless, we ate them anyway. Not really complaining, I mean they were good. Just nothing special.

C's choice for dessert was either fruit salad or ice cream sundae. Gee, guess what he picked?

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC03057.jpg

Ice cream sundae. More ice cream for him. :rotfl:

And that was 50s Prime Time Cafe. This is definitely going into the next trip's ADRs. :thumbsup2 Just a note to self: Request fun server!

Next up is Hurricane Hannah's.

Okay, so it's night time at the BC and after DHS, we headed for Epcot to walk around the countries and watch Illuminations later in the evening. I love how the Beach Club is so close to Epcot. It's amazing and definitely the top reason that BC is our resort of choice. We pretty much just go to Epcot whenever because Epcot is the Beach Club's "backyard". :thumbsup2

At Disney, one's tummy does not go far without growling. All of those attractions and shops? How is it possible to not work up an appetite? :confused3 There are an abundance of options. TS meals, CS meals..there's even concierge and some nice snacks that are well worth a snack credit. We could've just wandered around the showcase and picked a new country. But no! We're in Disney and we can eat whatever we want, wherever it is. :snooty: So, we hiked back to the Beach Club and went to Hurricane Hanna's. I guess this place could be slightly similar to the BC Marketplace...they had different sandwiches but looked pretty much like the Marketplace ones.

I ran to the BC Marketplace to get two salads. C and D ate at Hurricane Hanna's. We all ate outside Hannah's.

M and I got Made to Order Salad $8.99
Two of them, please. Everything but eggs, nuts and berries! Caesar dressing.

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC03140.jpg

Yum...I love the Marketplace's salad! They were huge and filling. The chicken is pretty moist and it's made really fast. I know we totally reversed the whole salad healthiness by adding the dressing but hey...Disney...ya know? ;) The salad is huge, but- and I think I mentioned this in the other BC Marketplace review- the salads got SMALLER during the end of our trip! I don't know if they just wanted to try it out but I wouldn't pay 9 bucks for the newer size. It was a smaller plastic see-through bowl. The bowl we got on this review was a decent-sized black plastic plate.

From Hurricane Hanna's, D got a
Turkey Sandwich - smoked turkey served on a sourdough baguette, basil Mayonnaise and fresh mozzarella cheese with cabbage slaw $8.19

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC03134.jpg

He says BLEH! He took one bite and that was it. I have no idea how it tasted but apparently it wasn't good. It looked slimy and unappetizing when he pulled off the bread from the top to try and pick out pieces that he might eat.

C went with the safe choice of Chicken Breast Nuggets $6.49

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC03135.jpg

Disney's chicken nuggets. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Dessert!

I'm so sorry for the lack of variety here!! We ordered 3 brownies and a Mickey Premium bar for C.

Brownie

Did I ever mention BC's brownies? They're chewy, fudgy, rich, and MOIST! YUM! We must've used at least 6 SC on them. Big thumbs up :thumbsup2 for us.

Mickey Premium Bar

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC03142.jpg

What to say? Those Mickey bars are probably Disney's best selling treat and for all the right reasons! They're Mickey shaped, and they definitely satisfy a sweet tooth.

New Disney day! :cool1: After waking up and getting ready, we headed out and marched towards the elevator. Of course, we stalled a bit in the lounge. Come on, who could resist? :confused3 Instead of eating there, we picked a bit (mini blueberry muffins!) and went down to the Beach Club Marketplace. Today was DTD day. Today was also special because it's the day that Dad (or G for Grumpy ;)) joins us on our Disney adventure! :woohoo: He'll come later in the afternoon.

Beach Club Marketplace. Eh, I really wish they had better food!!! There are hardly any options at any time of day for a meal. I just wish they could expand a bit...but that could go for most deluxe resort CS locations, huh?

We all had a Ham and Cheese Omelet Croissant $5.99

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC03159.jpg

On the DDP you get 2 drinks. I guess they figured you wouldn't want dessert with breakfast so you get an extra drink. :confused3 3 CS credits is 6 drinks. We probably got all water.

These are really good. The eggs are soft and not rubbery at all. The cheese is really gooey and the croissant was warm and flaky. I gave C my ham as I do not like ham that much. He likes it though, so that's fine with me.

Yum. Concierge! Definitely a highlight of the trip. It's nice to walk over and see what's there to munch on.

Breakfast was my favorite. They have a nice spread.

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC02726-3.jpg

I don't even know where to start. I guess I'll just list everything I see there.

Doughnuts- They were comparable to Krispy Kreme (but not warm!) because of the allover glaze on the frosted ones. I liked them. I've never had a bad doughnut in my life so I suppose that you can't mess them up too easily? ;)

They had jelly-filled, chocolate glaze, and plain glaze. The jelly-filled are those doughnuts under the cinnamon rolls to the left.

Upclose glazed doughnut:

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC02781.jpg

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC02986.jpg

Fruit- The fruit at CL has always tasted nice and fresh. One thing I never understood though was that the oranges were always tough and tasteless. They weren't juicy or sweet. We're in Florida. Aren't they supposed to have the best oranges? :confused3

Cinnamon rolls- Oh my. These were sooooo yummy. Some mornings, I ate just these little cinnamon rolls. They're nice and sticky, chewy, and soft. Great for a morning sweet tooth. :thumbsup2

Banana loaf- That's the bowl on top all the way to the left. When we got home, one of the first things we did was make a banana loaf so we wouldn't be too far away from it. ;) At CL they were really moist and soft. Perfect! We make them at home all the time so I was happy that they were good here.

Here's the cinnamon roll and banana loaf:

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC03350.jpg

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC02727-1.jpg

I'll confess. I never once tried a bagel here. There are so many SWEETS spread out for breakfast. I can have a bagel at home! The little cream cheese packets were reduced fat, incase anybody wanted to know. Apples were always crunchy and we usually grabbed a few bananas and apples on the go for the parks.

They had a whole table for juice:

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC02985.jpg

Left to right- Cranberry juice, skim milk, orange juice, milk, apple juice.

Thank you! Prime Time is a nice experience.

I really think I need to splurge on the CL one day...man...that stuff looks so good!

I'd love to go back! We're DVC members at the BC Villas now so no CL there (but AK and Contemporary have! :woohoo:)

Those cinnamon rolls at the CL look great :thumbsup2

Ooh, they were yummy. :teeth:

Snack time!

Before I didn't post the letter that concierge gives you. At the bottom are the times that they serve food.

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/img010.jpg

Snacks. Eh, concierge is pretty lacking in them. There really isn't much of a reason to pop in here during the day and see what there is because it's usually the same. They have goldfish, mixed nuts, and popcorn bags. AND COOKIES!!!!

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC04376-1.jpg

Goldfish- We liked taking the coffee cups and filling them up with little goldfish crackers. Crunchy, cheesy, and you've most likely tasted them before so you know... They're fine for prepackaged snacks. :teeth:

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC02651.jpg

Pretzels- Mmm. Pretzels. I don't really know what to say...:rotfl:Salty... Crunchy... Oh, really! You know how they taste. :upsidedow

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC02650.jpg

Mixed Nuts- I'm assuming these are Planters? They look like the mix we buy and keep at home. It's almonds, pecans, brazil nuts, hazelnuts, cashews, and peanuts. Salted, but I'm pretty sure you figured that already.

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC02649.jpg

Popcorn- I love the white cheddar flavor. We took packages back to the room a lot.

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC02653.jpg

Cookies- These were AMAZING!!! Chewy and always soft. We ate these like crazy. My favorite were the sugar cookies. Oh my, they were soooo soft and yummy. Chocolate chip was a close second, though! There was also oatmeal raisin. Funny, when the basket is finishing the sugar cookies and chocolate chip cookies were always completely gone and the oatmeal raisin side remained untouched. I think they're okay...eh.

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC02652-1.jpg

Later, usually after parks, we'd return to the club because they had a rotating cake that they changed every day. If I remember correctly, I think it was chocolate cake, carrot cake, cheesecake.

Cheesecake:

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC02907.jpg

Carrot cake:

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC03122.jpg

Chocolate cake:

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC02778.jpg

I liked sitting by the window and having a slice of cake with some coffee or tea after a park. It's nice. :)

Next up is concierge dinner.

They were soo good! I love cinnamon rolls but I've never looked up a recipe for them to make at home. I usually just pick up a Pillsbury can at the supermarket but homemade would taste so much better!

Oooh, dinner! Every day they rotated the main dish and soup.

For kids, there were PB&J Uncrustables.

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC03123.jpg

I loved how the gummy worms were in the middle. Cute and kid friendly! I don't know why they cut them in half..I guess presentation or easier eating; but they were about palm sized. I love PB&J so they were nice to have.

Chicken Corn Chowder:

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC02783.jpg

Thick and creamy! I loved it. It was pretty spicy, too.

Here's a plate of some offerings. Mostly from the "sides".

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC02782.jpg

I see asparagus, mozzarella, tomatoes, pita bread and red pepper hummus (yum), a beef skewer- the day's entree, artichoke, cauliflower, peppers, and a turkey and swiss roll. I loved those little sandwich rolls. They had them out daily. They were cold and bite sized. Yummy!

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC03722.jpg

I remember these. We had a few coming back from Stormalong Bay. I think they were called Duck Tacos...or something along that line. They were definitely duck. They were really soft cheesy and came with a dipping sauce. It was creamy. I'm not sure what kind of sauce it was...it was light red and mildly spicy.

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC02910.jpg

Those look like chicken puff pastries? I don't remember how they tasted..

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC02677-1.jpg

Chicken skewers. These were there on our first day at the BC. Tender and moist chicken...I liked the sauce. It was slightly sweet.

The soup from that day was New England Clam Chowder.

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC02678.jpg

I loved this. It was very thick, creamy, and chunky. We all loved the soup the most. I saw many people taking the blue mugs, filling them with soup and taking them back to the room. Mmm, that would be nice with a DVD rental from the concierge desk.

One day they had salmon:

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC03278.jpg

Alright. I guess that's it because I don't have any more pictures from dinner. I really thought I took more. :confused3 Well, anyway. Next up is dessert! :yay:

You know, I bet you could make a day's meal out of it. In the morning, eat breakfast, then get CS lunch, come back for a snack, then eat dinner, then dessert. Oh, I still remember that day! We were at check in when a front concierge CM approached us. He addressed us by name and walked us over to the elevator. Then he said something along the lines of "This year at Disney we're celebrating the Year of A Million Dreams. As a surprise, we're going to upgrade you to the 5th floor Stone Harbor Club!" He explained everything to us. We went crazy as he handed us the gold cards and led us up to concierge. I like thinking that it was a dream from the YOAMD. :goodvibes However, maybe there is a possibility that they didn't have enough BC rooms because of renovation? :confused3

Holy smokes I have to pay more attention to the "dinner" options at the Boardwalk when we go. I remember only soup? and some salad maybe. I don't remember anything else- although I think we only hit it once during the week we were so booked up. This time I have a couple nights with no adrs- thinking we will lay low. We'll see how that goes.

I love seeing the Beach Club concierge! Really enjoying your review.

Ah. This is my favorite counter service location in Disney! I don't think you could go wrong with any options here. The food is so good and it's kind of like you're dining in a table service restaurant. You go up to the counter and order. They give you a number that you put on your table, then a waiter comes by and gives you your food. They clean up for you and everything.

Before the entree, M decided to order a Caesar Salad $3.95

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC03191.jpg

The lettuce was crisp and fresh. Croutons were seasoned and they weren't mushy. They were pretty crunchy and I ate most of them.

I went by what most people on DIS raved about and was excited to finally order it!

BBQ Chicken Quesadilla - Flour tortillas filled with mozzarella and cheddar cheeses, red onions, fresh cilantro, Ranch dressing, BBQ sauce and pico de gallo $10.95

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC03195-1.jpg

Oooh, the tortilla is soft but has a light "crusty" texture. When you bite into it you get the cheese stuffed inside. I loved the BBQ sauce. I mopped up the quesadilla with it but it would be nice if there was a little more. It was pretty big but really thin. I finished most of it but gave some pieces to D and M. They liked it too.

D and M got the same entree. They wanted
Spaghetti with Meatballs - $15.75

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC03194-1.jpg

They loved it. It looked really good! I didn't try any though because they wiped the plate clean.

C wanted some Crispy Chicken Fingers with French Fries $6.95

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC03192.jpg

Oh, look! Even the chicken fingers are TS quality here. The fries were really good. Some of them were soggy though. I know that most people don't like soggy fries but I love them the most!

All four of us wanted frozen yogurt for dessert.

Frozen Yogurt with one Topping $4.25 (additional toppings .75)

We love frozen yogurt and get it all the time at home so this was nice. It's nonfat frozen yogurt.

You can get a lot of different toppings on them. There were chopped cookies, fruit, nuts, sprinkles, chocolate chips, and probably more.

We're not vanilla people so we all got chocolate frozen yogurts.

I wanted crushed candied pecans on mine.

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC03196.jpg

The frozen yogurt was soo good. It was very thick and creamy. My only complaint were the candied pecans. I thought they were :crazy2:. I love pecans but these were waaaaaay too sweet. I picked them off and happily enjoyed the rest of my frozen yogurt. :)

D got chocolate chips on his.

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC03198.jpg

I wish I got those. I love chocolate chips.

M wanted fresh fruit on hers.

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC03199.jpg

I thought that was kind of funny. The pieces of fruit were big and I don't think that you'd eat them with a scoop of frozen yogurt all in one spoon. She ate the fruit first and then the frozen yogurt.

C wanted sprinkles.

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC03197.jpg

Rainbow sprinkles. Nice topping. You can't go wrong with it.

Yum! Wolfgang Puck Express is our favorite CS meal and we'll definitely make it there on every upcoming trip. We came here twice so you'll see it again.

I also have to add that it makes a GREAT CS value on the dining plan. For example, D's meal was Spaghetti and meatballs, frozen yogurt, and a bottled water. The spaghetti was $15.75, the frozen yogurt was $4.25 and a water was $2.75 That makes the meal $22.75 before tax! That's as much as some TS meals.

Next up we're going to Restaurant Marrakesh.

After Wolfgang Puck Express, we walked around DTD a bit more. We stayed at DTD through the afternoon until G came to join us.

I forgot to mention that today was the day that we went to Saratoga Springs to learn more about DVC. I loved everything and after the DVC was explained to us thoroughly, we decided that it was right for us.:cool1: So this was a memorable day. After they show you everything, they take you to the ice cream place and you get to chose a scoop of Edy's. It's all COMPLIMENTARY for taking the tour. There was also a topping station. You were able to add cherries, peanuts, chocolate sauce, and sprinkles.

Now back to AFTER Wolfgang Puck Express.

We also came here to get some make-your-own treats at Goofy's Candy Co.

They were GREAT snack credits because these were huge.

I'll repost this sign explaining everything:

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC03212.jpg

Here's the paper they give you to check:

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC03262-1.jpg

It's simple. Everything you want, just put a checkmark on it. Hand it to them and they'll fix your snack. You have to give them your name and they'll call you when it's done. The ONLY thing that wasn't too good was that these things took LONG! :snooty: So, we occupied ourselves by acting like children (except for C, who is one!) and moving around in front of the fun mirror.

Here we go! Look at that, our 3 yummilicious snack credits are ready! :yay:

This one was a fudge cookie. They're like HUGE Oreos and you can choose the cream inside from, as I recall, chocolate, white, and peanut butter. We chose chocolate.

Covered in milk chocolate and M&Ms.

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC03258-1.jpg

These three pretzel sticks were an awesome use of a snack credit because you can split them between three people (or, of course, eat them all!).

Covered in dark chocolate, coated in peanuts, and drizzled with caramel. Mmmmmmmmmmm.

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC03261-1.jpg

And this was a Mickey rice krispie treat covered in dark chocolate, then coated in chrushed Oreo crumbs, M&Ms, and drizzled with milk chocolate.

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC03225-1.jpg

Oh, we'd definitely do this again even with the long wait!

Next up is still Restaurant Marrakesh.

Restaurant Marakkesh! This was actually a spur of the moment decision. We cancelled a different reservation because it was too late. At concierge, I asked what other Epcot restaurants were available for that night. A few came up and we decided to try Restaurant Marakkesh. We have never tried it before so it looked like a good idea. I haven't heard too much about it... Today is also the day that G came to join us. :yay:That means more table service restaurants.

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC03285.jpg

The atmosphere inside is very nice. Like you've been transported to Morocco. Entertainment is a band all the way up front and a bellydancer that dances in the middle. She gets a few children to get up and dance with her, too.

As an appetizer we ordered the..

Morrocan Salad Combo for Two - Green pepper, tomato, marinated olives, carrots, potatoes and cucumber salad $13.95

Oh...I'm pretty sure that was it. I didn't write the name down. This looked like it because the picture matches the descriptions fairly well.

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC03287.jpg

The cucumber salad is on the bottom, middle. The marinated olives are to the left of the cucumber salad. To the right of the cucumber salad are the carrots. The potato salad is in the middle. The green pepper and tomato is on the top, middle??

We split this between everyone. It was a good portion. Enough for everyone to get a few bites before the entrees were served. If we ever go again, I'd order this because there's a variety of different appetizers for everyone. We paid OOP for this one since appetizers aren't included on the Basic DDP.

There was bread on the table.

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC03288.jpg

Soft bread. I think they gave out plain butter packs because I didn't take a picture of a specialty butter?

G asked if he could get the

Marrakesh Royal Feast - Harira soup, Beef Brewat Rolls, Lemon Chicken, Roasted Lamb Meshoui, Couscous with Seven Vegetables, and Assorted Moroccan pastries $42.95 per person

on the DDP. The waiter said he could but there would be a $5.95 charge. It's for the Harira soup because appetizers aren't included.

Harira Soup:

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/soup.jpg

He didn't like me taking pictures of his food... :rotfl:I managed. That spoon right there was held impatiently by him as he waited for me to finish. ;)

The entree:

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC03291.jpg

The Roasted Lamb Meshoui is up front. In the middle is the Lemon Chicken. Under the Lemon Chicken is the couscous. The last food up on top are the Beef Brewat rolls.

Oh...and look! There are those butter packets! ;) Right there, covered in foil. :teeth:

D wanted

Roast Lamb Meshoui - roasted lamb shank in natural juices served with couscous $26.95

The same one on the Moroccon feast but in its own bigger portion.

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC03293.jpg

Ooh, it looked good. I should've ordered it instead.

I ordered the

Chicken Kebabs - grilled brochettes of chicken breast marinated in Moroccan herbs and spices $24.95

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC03292.jpg

Too boring! Pretty bland and dry...I didn't enjoy it. I loved the couscous, though. Started making it at home, yum! The raisins added a nice sweetness to the couscous. At first I picked them aside but tried them with a bite and definitely liked it better.

M ordered some

Shish Kebab - grilled tenderloin of beef served with hummus $27.95

We shared the chicken and shish kebabs. I liked the chicken a bit more but that's because I don't like the beef ones in general. I thought these were a bit too dry for my tastes, though, too.

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC03290.jpg

C had a kid's meal. There were some nice options on the kid's menu for them.

Chicken Tenders - Breaded fried chicken $6.95
Moroccan Pasta - Served with meatballs in tomato sauce $6.95
Kefta - Hamburger served on a bun with lettuce and tomatoes $6.95
Vegetable Couscous - Rolled semolina steamed and served with seasonal vegetables $6.95

But you know..he got the chicken tenders.

Chicken Tenders - Breaded fried chicken $6.95
and here they are:

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC03289.jpg

G, M, and me ordered

Moroccan Symphony - Assorted pastries $5.95

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC03296.jpg

Yuuuuuuum. I love baklava. These were so good. My favorite one was the pistachio baklava. They were all really good. The roll on the left was light and crunchy.

D decided to be different and ordered the

Bastilla - crispy leaves of pastry topped with vanilla cream and sprinkled with toasted almonds
For Two - $7.95; For One - $6.95

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC03298.jpg

He got two leaves. I didn't try it. He liked it and it did look good but I'd definitely still get my baklava.

Restaurant Marrakesh was a nice new experience. I think I just ordered the wrong thing. I'd definitely try it again. It's not at the top of our list but it was definitely memorable. We sat in a corner away from the band and dancer but that was fine with us.

Here's the view from the table:

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC03295.jpg

Afterwards we walked out to watch Illuminations. Our favorite fireworks show in Disney! :lovestruc I love when they light up all the countries.

Coming up with Yak 'n' Yeti CS.

Here we are at Animal Kingdom! :cool1: I love it here but my only complaint is that there aren't enough food options! We only like two CS restaurants here and they are Yak 'n' Yeti CS and Flame Tree BBQ. This is the first time we are trying Yak 'n' Yeti CS so we wanted to get it in instead of eating the same CS meal that we always eat (Flame Tree).

We have Yak 'n' Yeti TS on the ADR list for the next trip because that didn't happen on this trip. I just wish that both restaurants had a different name. :rotfl:

Okay, at Yak 'n' Yeti CS we all got a similar meal. Two Shrimp Lo Mein $10.99 and two Honey Chicken $8.99

Shrimp Lo Mein:

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC03428.jpg

This isn't what I got so I have no idea what it tastes like. All I know is that there was a lot of shrimp in there!

Honey Chicken:

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC03431.jpg

Oh, wait. Those look like chicken nuggets! Well they sure taste like 'em too. But a bit sweeter. The breading was mushy, not at all crispy. I would've liked it a bit crispier. Oh well. :confused3 Under the chicken was white rice. I liked how it tasted with all the juice from the chicken going down to the bottom.

C had

Chicken Bites $4.99

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC03433-1.jpg

Chicken nuggets and fries. It was part of a Kid's pick so it came with 2 sides and a drink.

Kids' Picks
All meals include choice of 2 side items: Carrot Sticks, Applesauce, Fruit Punch Gelatin or Chicken Fried Rice.
Choice of 1% Mickey Milk, Small Bottled Water or Apple Juice

He chose fries and chicken fried rice as his 2 side items. They let him get fries because he doesn't eat vegetables and fruit punch gelatin didn't sound appetizing to him.

Dessert! But I only have reviews for two of the four desserts. We took the other desserts back to the hotel and forgot about it...it got thrown away. :confused3

But here it is anyway:

Mango pie:

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC03429.jpg

Chocolate cake:

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC03430.jpg

Eh, they were prepackaged anyway.

BUT I did eat this:

Minute Maid Frozen Lemonade:

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC03432.jpg

Yum! Like lemon sorbet. Very soft, cold, and refreshing. :thumbsup2

And a cookie:

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC03427.jpg

(and lots of hot sauce and soy sauce ;))

The cookie was really big and I split it with C back at the hotel. Chewy! We gladly ate it up.

Prices of the desserts:

Chocolate Cake $3.59
Mango Mini Pie $3.59
Frozen Lemonade $2.99
Chocolate Chip Cookie $2.99

Oh, look at that. We got one of every dessert on the menu!

This place definitely won't compare to your local Chinese restaurant but it'll do here in Disney. ::yes::

Alright, just one complaint about this place. The whole CS sitting area here is UNSHADED! There are two tables with umbrellas and that's it!! Well, it started raining. And raining. And raaaaaaaaaaaaining. We were wet, our food was wet, and our sodas were wet (remember, AK doesn't give you cup tops and straws). The poor families under the two umbrella tables were smooshed because all the other eaters went under their umbrellas! So we ate in the rain. I wonder if it changed since then? :confused3

Overall, a good experience other than the rain.

Oh, a favorite! We were pretty excited about today for a long time. Yachtsman is a favorite of ours and now we try to make it there on all of our trips. Since we stayed at the Beach Club it was an easy walk over to the other side. Although I love the Beach Club's atmosphere the most, the Yacht Club is gorgeous on the inside as well! We always get a photo by the Captain's wheel.

First thing to see at Yachtsman's is the butcher that cuts the meat in there. They showcase all the different steaks they have for all to see in a window from inside the little room.

Here are the different steaks:

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC03435.jpg

We were seated in a table all the way in a corner. It was nice there. The lights at Yachtsman's are dimly lit which is why I'll warn you now: I was too afraid to turn on the flash. I thought it would bother the people at other tables so I left the flash off. I'm sorry!

This is what it looked like from our table.

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC03443.jpg

First, we received the onion pull apart rolls. I love these! They're slightly sweet from the onion. They come with a seasoned/herb butter and onions.
You can see that there are white rolls in the mix too.

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC03450.jpg

G got the Lobster Bisque - Maine Lobster and Creme Fraiche finished with Brandy $9.00

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC03457.jpg

Oh, I know, you can't see it! But this was the worst picture of the night. I didn't taste it but there wasn't a lot of it in there.

D wanted Caesar Salad - Crisp Romaine Lettuce, Aged Parmesan Cheese and Garlic Sourdough Croutons $9.00

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC03458.jpg

No, that wasn't the whole portion! Just my piece. Just saying, though, I do hate when they give you the whole leaf as a salad. I don't like cutting my own salad.

We all shared some Seared Maine Diver Scallops with Diamond white cheddar risotto and aged sherry vinaigrette $14.00

This was one scallop on my plate:

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC03459.jpg

All I managed to grab before they wolfed it all down.

I wasn't hungry today. I think I had too much bread. :rolleyes1 So I asked if I could order off the children's menu and to my surprise, they let me. I got the chicken breast that came with cooked carrots and mashed potatoes.

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC03467.jpg

It's a nice big portion for a kid's menu! It was $9. That chicken was SO moist! Again, I love mashed potatoes and these were gooood. Creamy and it had potato chunks and bits of skin, which I love in mashed. I don't like it too smooth/thin so this was perfect. The portion was also perfect. I can't eat carrots cooked, though, so I didn't touch them. Ick, just don't like them.

BUT the menu changed since then! Now I only see Chicken Strips for the same price. How could they replace that with breaded chicken fingers? :confused3 Everyone's cutting down, I guess.

This is the children's steak:

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC03463.jpg

which is also a nice portion. This is still on the kid's menu for $12, what we paid then too.

Okay. This is unidentified.

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC03462.jpg

Help? :confused3 I think it's rib-eye, but the menu says fried onions and red wine butter. This has mashed potatoes unless we omitted fried onions for them.

We got sauteed mushrooms on the side:

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC03464.jpg

I love these. They're served hot and they're so good on top of the steaks. We make them at home now every time we put steaks on the grill. Actually, I have to admit that they come out even better at home!

One more that I don't know what it is! The pictures are dark and blurry so I'm not sure. :guilty:

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC03455.jpg

Dessert here is really good. Going into the restaurant, they have all the desserts out on the table to make it easier (or harder!) to decide what you would like:

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC03438.jpg

Two of these:

Trio of Valrhona Chocolate - passion fruit, banana, and orange-scented white chocolate $11.00

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC03472.jpg

I didn't like the combinations at all. It looks really good but I hated how this tasted. My least favorite was the orange one.

And two of these:

Chocolate Brownie $6.00

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/wdwtrip/DSC03471.jpg

Yum! This is the second time we've gotten this as dessert here. The brownies (actually one is a perfect dessert for two since they give you two brownies in each one) are so moist and fudgy! Topped with rich vanilla ice cream. I'm not a fan of vanilla (actually, nobody in our family is!) but I still liked it together with the brownie. I didn't think of asking for chocolate instead.

Overall, Yachtsman Steakhouse was a great experience. We will continue to eat here and have even closed a ressie for it for our trip this year.

Crystal Palace is a tradition for us. It started on our first trip to Disney and we've been here once on every trip since. It's not so much the food, but that they have Winnie the Pooh & Friends there. The Pooh Parade is adorable! Chip joins in occasionally.

Food! The buffet is like most Disney breakfast buffets in some ways. Here, they have the breakfast lasagna, Pooh's Puffed french toast, and then the usual breakfast food.

Here's some of what the buffet had:

Breakfast pizza:

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3B4%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C8%3C34nu0mrj

White gravy, Mickey waffles, scrambled eggs.

Omelette (fritatta?) , pancakes:

Potatoes, sausage:

Tomatoes, cucumbers, cubed cheese:

Eggs, jams, cream cheese, strawberries:

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3B8%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C8%3C44nu0mrj

Puffed french toast, more breakfast pizza:

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3A%3B%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B% 3EWSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C8957nu0mrj

Now to our plates. I just pile everything on, so lets see how I'll identify everything. ;)

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3B7%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C8%3C29nu0mrj

Mickey shaped waffles! :cool1: They're light and fluffy, crispy outside. And of course, being Mickey shaped is helpful too.

I see a biscuit in the left under the fritatta/omelette. I love biscuits. They're so chewy and flaky. I bought refridgerated biscuit dough from the supermarket (because our biscuits come from McD's or KFC ;)) and tried it out..it was nothing like a real biscuit. More like a dinner roll. :confused3 Yes, I read the label. It said biscuit. :teeth:

The fritatta/omelette. I'm not sure what the difference is so I'll refer to it as both. :) Yum! I won't eat eggs scrambled, sunny-side up, or boiled, but I will eat them if they're in an omelette or a fritatta (with everything, please).

Puffed french toast: That dark brown ball of fried dough covered in cinnamon sugar in the corner. I heard of it here and had to try it. Ooh, it's so good! Crispy on the outside but very light and chewy on the inside. I dunked them in the maple syrup.

Breakfast pizza: This was C's favorite. All he ate was breakfast pizza and bacon here and at Chef Mickey's. The dough is too chewy, though. I like thin crust, crispy and burnt. The pizza is very doughy, covered in scrambled eggs and cheese. I looked up the recipe online and it seems very simple. Most online actually used meat but this didn't.

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3B7%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C8944nu0mrj

Pancakes. Light and fluffy, this was taken before they were drowned in maple syrup. Another biscuit, potatoes. Too much oil on the potatoes...they stayed on the plate.

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3B2%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C8%3C2%3Cnu0mrj

Disney has the freshest fruit! The grapes are crunchy and sweet. Watermelon, my favorite summer fruit, very refreshing and not mushy at all. Seedless chunks, too! I don't buy watermelon with seeds at home. Pineapple, another favorite, was very sweet. There's some cantelope in the back under the grapes, but I don't like cantelope so I didn't eat it. At the buffets we usually send one person up to get fruit on a plate and we'll share it.

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3B8%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C8947nu0mrj

French toast and maple syrup. This was the puffed french toast that was conveniently located riiiiiiiiight next to the maple syrup. :thumbsup2

There was also this dish that I didn't take a picture of called Pooh's Breakfast Lasagna. Yum! It's like a warm bread pudding, like a cinnamon blueberry cake. It's pretty moist and it LOOKS disgusting but it tastes sooooooooo good!! My favorite, and I found the recipe online for this one as well.

All in all, our favorite tradition remains. We got tons of pictures of Pooh & Pals, clapped for the Pooh parade, and ate our favorite breakfast foods.

I have to ask for your mushroom recipe. I love the mushrooms at Yachtsman.

I don't have an exact recipe/measurements for it..just something thrown together to top the steaks. Cut up a medium onion and sautee it in a little butter or oil (we use olive oil). Then add in the mushrooms with the onions. I buy the mushrooms in a package at the supermarket; I think it's a pound. We get them sliced but you can get the button mushrooms whole too and slice them yourself. Throw in a splash of wine, either red or white by personal preference. We use red more, but both work fine. They'll turn dark and you'll definitely know when they're ready. Sprinkle with pepper and salt and serve warm.

Yachtsman dessert looks yummy. I think we need to add this to our next trip.

If you like steak you should definitely consider it. :thumbsup2

We're hungry again! After that big Crystal Palace breakfast, we walked around the Magic Kingdom and went for some rides. It was past lunchtime and we needed to fill up! Our noses had an idea when they caught the whiff of buttered popcorn from the Main Street carts.

Do you smell that butter? Hear that popcorn poppin'?

Main Street popcorn! Yum. Why does popcorn taste better in Disney? :confused3 I bought the large bucket and to refill, we got the small box. The small box was on the DDP as a snack credit, but the large bucket wasn't.

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3B5%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C8%3C48nu0mrj (http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3B5%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C8%3C48nu0mrj)

Then it was time for a real lunch. We donated some of the popcorn to the birds at our feet.

The only place we get brontosaurus legs is at Disney, so we might as well go ahead and get some now. Funny story..one year we all got our turkey legs and were eating them when this family passed by and said "Look at that, they sell brontasaurus legs!" and the name stuck since. Don't think about all the stares you'll get when grabbing this with your hand and chompin' down. They don't know how good it tastes!

For drinks, they let us get Icees on the DDP.

I got blue raspberry, D got Coke.

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3B2%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C8959nu0mrj

Very sweet and refreshing, but you can get them back at home. I had one today, actually. I prefer using a spoon over a straw. When it gets liquidy, I don't want anymore.

Brontas-er..I mean turkey legs:

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3B4%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C8%3C49nu0mrj

The skin is very crispy. Inside is moist and salty. I saw a Disney special once where they were making turkey legs. They inject the turkey legs with salt. The only thing is that every time we have them, I argue that it tastes so much like ham and not turkey. Oh, well. Ham or turkey, they're still great! Con: pretty greasy, don't want to feel icky on a hot Orlando day.

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3A%3B%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B% 3EWSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C8966nu0mrj

Chips.

We're not hungry anymore. :thumbsup2 Off to more rides. But just have to share a story. You know how Monster's Inc. Laugh Floor is like Turtle Talk with Crush where the monsters (or turtle) interact with the audience? Here, at the Laugh Floor they put your picture on the screen up front. They picked C! It was adorable. The monster asked him what he wants to be when he grows up. C said "a cowboy" and the monster said "a cowboy? well, good luck with that one!". It was so cute. I wanted to take a picture of him on the screen but a CM told me that I couldn't. Oh, well.

Next up, we head back the hotel to swim then walk to Epcot's World Showcase.

Thanks for reading. I'm not sure about DHS, but I know that at the Lunching Pad you can get the turkey leg as a CS meal with a drink. I'm not sure if the Icee is still a drink because when we went the CM said they weren't included, then checked again and allowed us to get them as drinks. Not sure if they stopped that or not.

After relaxing at Stormalong Bay, we decided to take a walk to Epcot. The World Showcase is our favorite, so much that we hardly spend much time in Future World.

I'll take one of everything, please! :yay:

Then everyone decided to pick something:

Chocolate Cake, Chocolate Mousse, Cheesecake, and Chocolate Croissant

They charged us 1 snack credit each pastry so it was a great DDP deal!

The chocolate mousse was mine. I love chocolate mousse and thought that it couldn't get better than from here. It was SO thick and creamy! I ate half of it and had the other half later on. I could've walked back to Epcot to eat more!

Everyone took their pastry and ate it up. The croissant was put in the fridge and eaten the next morning.

Next, will be our first time inside the lovely Polynesian resort and a dinner at Kona Cafe!

After our quick trip to France, we walked back to the Beach Club and got ready for our reservations at Kona Cafe in the Polynesian! We took a bus to the Magic Kingdom, then took a monorail to the Polynesian resort.

First off, this resort is so pretty! I love the waterfall in the middle of everything, and the CMs even gave us leis- which I still have, by the way. :)

Here are some pics of the Polynesian:

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3B6%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B4%3A%3C85nu0mrj

And now we're going to...

As we were walking towards our table, I saw this:

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3B4%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B537%3B%3Anu0mrj

Chocolate Lilo and Stitch! :stitch:

Now, time to talk about food!

First, the bread comes:

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3B8%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C8976nu0mrj

This is the welcome bread! The CM told us not to use a knife to cut the bread, but to break it with our hands. She was right because the bread was SO soft! This was my favorite bread from the trip. Yum! It comes a honey butter as well. I could come here and just eat the bread!

On to our appetizers. We picked the

Sticky Wings for Two - glazed chicken wings with a tangy mustard drizzle and toasted sesame seeds $12.99

I've heard of these on DIS constantly so decided to try them. The wings were so good! These were very sweet, but the mustard definitely cut the sweetness.

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3B6%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C8%3C5%3Cnu0mrj

You can also order from the Kona Island Sushi Bar. We ordered

Shrimp Tempura Roll - tempura shrimp, fresh mango served with lilikoi sauce $12.99

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3B6%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C8%3C59nu0mrj

None of us are fans of sushi, but D wanted to try these. It was actually pretty good! I loved the sweet mango in there and that sauce was nice as well.

Don't laugh. All four of us ordered the same thing.

Teriyaki-style New York Strip - sirloin strip grilled with pineapple teriyaki glaze served with mashed Yukon gold potatoes and stir-fried broccolini $27.99

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3B3%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C8979nu0mrj

To be honest, nothing else really appealed to me on the menu. Apparently that was so with everyone else! But I'll try to order something different next time! Well... I can't promise you that because this was sooo good! I'm not a steak person. I don't eat it at home, and I usually don't order any in a restaurant but I loved this one. The teriyaki glaze was sweet and tangy. The broccolini was good, too. Stir-fried, so it reminded me of my favorite Chinese takeout broccoli. Well, I was a bit more interested in the mashed potatoes. I love it when mashed potatoes have chunks in them. There was A LOT of mashed potatoes under that steak, too!

I can post a picture of that steak three more times if you want..but I don't think it's necessary. ;) :lmao:Don't worry, this doesn't happen often!

C had the
Grilled Fish of the Day - served with whole-grain pilaf, veggies, and yogurt parfait $7.59

from the kid's menu. For his he just requested french fries and fruit salad. I don't remember what the fish was. Was it mahi mahi?

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3B5%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C8%3C64nu0mrj

Looks good for something from the kid's menu! I'm impressed with Disney's kid's menu. Not just burgers, hot dogs, and chicken strips!

It's time for the best part! Dessert. :woohoo: I knew what I was going to have already.

It was the Kilueaua Torte:

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3A%3B%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B% 3EWSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C897%3Cnu0mrj

D ordered the same thing. It's a molten chocolate lava cake. When you break it open, all of the ooey gooey hot melty chocolate comes pouring out. It was soo MOIST!

M ordered the Chocolate Fondue $5.99

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3B2%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C8986nu0mrj

They give you fruit and macaroons to dip into dark chocolate fondue. Very good! Fresh fruit, and the fondue was very rich and tasty.

G didn't want any dessert, so he let C get one. I knew what he'd like to have, so I told him about the...

Kona Kone $5.99

http://images2c.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp536%3A8%3Enu%3D3298%3E3%3A5%3E542%3E 23893%3A5633246ot1lsi

Very cute idea! They give you four compartments for sprinkles and other decorations, and the middle fits the sugary waffle cone with scoops of chocolate and vanilla ice cream. This was after he decorated his cone. Cute mickey chocolate on top! See the blue cotton candy sticking out of the "kone" as well?

Kona was a great meal! We have both Kona and 'Ohana booked for the upcoming trip and I can't wait to go back to the Polynesian!

Next up will be some Epcot snacks and Sunshine Seasons.

Today was an Epcot day. We trekked from the Beach Club all the way to Future World. Our first stop of the day was Soarin'. We usually eat something small for breakfast in the room, like a granola bar or cereal. Today C didn't eat and he was hungry when we passed by Sunshine Seasons. M and C stayed at Sunshine Seasons while the rest of us rode Soarin'.

I love Soarin'! It's my favorite ride in Epcot. We rode it a lot this trip. My favorite part is when you go over the orange groves and you smell the oranges! Of course, the part where you're parked in front of Disneyland to watch the fireworks isn't bad, either! I could ride it again and again! Oh, wait..we have! :thumbsup2

After exiting the ride, we walked towards C and M's table at Sunshine Seasons. C decided to have the Kids' French toast with sausage $4.09

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3B6%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C8%3C6%3Cnu0mrj

Missing sausage. He must've eaten it while we were still on Soarin'. We waited for him to finish up and decided on what we'd do next.

Here are some various snacks throughout our day in Epcot:

I've dunked bananas in milk chocolate, coated them in sprinkles, peanuts, and other toppings, and frozen them to eat before, but I've always wanted one from Disney. I used a snack credit to get this from a stand in Future World:

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3B2%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C8988nu0mrj

Blech! The texture was what made me think it was disgusting. The banana had little bits of ice in it. I wouldn't get it again.

A quick pic of some of the healthier cart options:

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3B7%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C898%3Bnu0mrj

Disney's not all that unhealthy!

We have since finished Future World and started heading towards the World Showcase.

Stepping by Norway, I realized that we haven't tried the schoolbread that everyone here raved about. We went to Kringla Bakeri og Cafe and got the School Bread $1.99

Note that this is before the schoolbread became topped with toasted coconut and caramel. Just white coconut here.

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3B2%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C8%3C77nu0mrj

That middle cream is not butter. Just saying because when I first saw a picture of it I think I gagged a little at the thought of that much butter in one place. It's actually like a custard. The inside tasted very similar to the inside of a boston creme donut. I've heard that it is half the size now. Still a snack credit.

This was also from Norway. It wasn't mine, and I'm not sure of its exact name. It looks like a coconut custard type cake. I didn't try any, so not sure what it is.

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3B5%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C3864nu0mrj

In Germany, I wanted a Salted Soft Pretzel - $4.29:

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3B9%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C8995nu0mrj

I can NOT wait until we go back to Disney so I can get my hands on another one of these! This was probably the best pretzel I have EVER had! I would've thought that they'd all taste the same but they don't. I tried a pretzel from a cart in DHS and it was hard and dry. This was so soft and warm. The sign displayed it as a snack credit on the DDP, even though it was over $4.

These, I believe, are also from Germany. I remember that Germany had a glass case of cookies and chocolate.

I'm eyeing that Cookies 'n' Cream fudge!

I couldn't find a dinner reservation for Le Cellier so had to settle for lunch, which was perfectly fine for everyone. We have come here nearly every trip so felt that it would be nice to come back.

Just a note though...the restaurant is kind of dark so it felt odd for me to take flash photos of the food in there. I'm sorry...some of them are pretty dark!

For my drink, I ordered the Mango Smoothie - with a splash of Cranberry $4.29

http://images2c.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp53665%3Enu%3D329%3B%3E547%3E759%3E23 8%3C54784%3A246ot1lsi

Very sweet and refreshing. Almost too sweet...I didn't drink all of it and requested a glass of water. I didn't like it when it melted so left the rest.

I wish I chose what D chose, which was a Chocolate-Raspberry Shake $4.29

http://images2d.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp53697%3Enu%3D329%3B%3E547%3E75%3B%3E 238%3C54784%3C246ot1lsi

Sorry! The picture is really dark. What threw me off was the raspberry. I wasn't sure if I would like it so I ordered the smoothie instead. He loved this and it's definitely what I will get next time. It was very thick.

I really wanted to try the Canadian Cheddar Cheese soup, so instead of just an entree I chose the
Chef's Favorites
The Chefs have chosen a few of their favorites so you can enjoy a truly exceptional Le Cellier experience.
Choose one from each category. No substitutions. $29.99

which came with an appetizer as well.

I was able to get the Canadian Cheddar Cheese soup, a chicken ceaser entree salad, and a sorbet.

Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup - Made with Moosehead Beer and Smoked Bacon Cup $5.49 Bowl $6.99

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3A%3B%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B% 3EWSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C8%3C84nu0mrj

The BEST! Very rich and creamy. I love the smokiness of it. I'd definitely come to Le Cellier just for this soup. Yum!

Caesar Salad with Chicken - Romaine lettuce, parmesan, sourdough croutons and a creamy Caesar dressing $13.99

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3B6%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C8%3C8%3Bnu0mrj

My first impression was that this salad was huge. I ate about half of it. The chicken was very dry, so I left that. The rest was okay; typical caesar salad. I wouldn't get it again.

D, G, and M all ordered the Grilled Angus Chuck Burger - topped with house-made onion ketchup and your choice of cheddar or blue cheese $12.49

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3B5%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C89%3A6nu0mrj

We also got some Oven-roasted Mushrooms $4.29

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3A%3B%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B% 3EWSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C89%3A8nu0mrj

I love those mushrooms! They're great here too, but we unanimously preferred the ones at Yachtsman.

C had a

And for dessert, an ice cream sundae:

D and M ordered the Chocolate "Moose" - Chocolate Mousse rolled in Toasted Chocolate Crumbs with Maple Leaf Antlers $5.99

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3A%3B%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B% 3EWSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C89%3A%3Cnu0mrj

I had the Seasonal Sorbet $6.49 which, I believe, was white peach at the time.

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3B5%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C8%3C93nu0mrj

Blah. I didn't like it... It wasn't sweet enough and hardly had a flavor.

G passed on dessert.

I think it was the fact that we went during lunch that really messed us up. We weren't that hungry, so went lighter on the food. Next time, I'd definitely aim for dinner or nothing. I actually don't have it booked for the upcoming trip because we want to try something new.

Next up is Chefs de France.

I LOVE Le Cellier! Our September visit was my first one at Le Cellier and I had been sick all week and miserable but the family would not go without me so I ended up trudging along and feeling terrible. The chedddar soup was soooo comforting and tasty and warm that it would have made its way in my list of favorites just by that. But I had the filet and it was wonderful and the moose. My favorite meal of the week. :)

You know, I think a lot of the hype is due to the fact that it is one of the only steak places in Epcot. It's definitely a good choice if you actually go for the steak. We would all unanimously pick Yachtsman's over Le Cellier. It will always make the list of ADRs and I think it's a lot better than Le Cellier foodwise. It's more expensive, however, and if you are on the DDP it will cost you 2TS credits instead of 1 at Le Cellier. Either way, Le Cellier and Yachtsman are walking distance to each other (guessing I would say 10-15 minutes from Yachtsman to international gateway to Le Cellier) so you can chose which one you want to go to without worrying much about transportation.

France is one of my favorite pavillions! I love the water fountain and the entertainment. It's always fun to watch that stacking chair performer. We have made reservations at night for Chefs de France. I've made reservations for here before so we are coming back for the second time.

After being seated, I was surprised to see the CM running to all the tables and dropping a dinner roll on everyone's plate! No bread baskets here so you don't have to restrain yourself by repeating inside your head that you need to save room for your entree! I was actually dissapointed in that. A bread basket would've been nice.

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3B5%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C857%3Cnu0mrj

The only one of these cheeses that I was familiar with was the soft brie. Very nice appetizer choice. I love cheese plates, and this was really good. Boulangerie Patisserie (the bakery also in the French pavillion) also has a cheese plate but I have never tried it. I don't know what variety of cheese that one has though.

We're in a French restaurant so we all HAD to get a Soupe a l'oignon gratinee - the classic onion soup topped with Gruyere cheese - $6.50

I love French Onion Soup. When attempted at home, it tasted WAY too much like wine. I need a better recipe! I even bought the french onion soup bowls for it! They have since been used for oatmeal instead.:confused3

Here it is! The Soupe a l'oignon gratinee. Fancy French name for a fancy French soup. :goodvibes

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3A%3B%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B% 3EWSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C8338nu0mrj

This is definitely THE place to get it! It was soo good! The cheese is so hot and melted that it pulls when you bring your spoon up to eat it. Yum!

Salade maison - selected greens, house vinaigrette dressing $5.95

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3B5%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C8586nu0mrj

Meh. Boring. I could hardly taste the dressing.

D ordered the

Plat de Cote de Boeuf au Cabarnet avec pates - Beef short ribs braised in Cabernet with pasta, pearl onions and mushrooms $28.95

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3B4%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C833%3Anu0mrj

It looks pretty good. I would get this next time, especially with the new Prix Fixe menu so I can get my french onion soup as well.

I ordered the "adult mac 'n' cheese" a.k.a. the Gratin de macaroni - Baked macaroni with cream and gruyere cheese $18.95

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3B6%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C8588nu0mrj

There is no way that I could've eaten the whole thing. It was SO rich and very creamy. The top is sort of crusty and then the layer underneath it is very creamy. It was good, but I was expecting a bit more flavor as I found it slightly on the bland side. I think it was the fact that it was gruyere. It was just very different than the mac 'n' cheese that I'm used to making at home.

M ordered the Filet de boeuf grille, sauce au poivre noir Gratin Dauphinois et haricots verts - Grilled tenderloin of beef with a black pepper sauce original potato gratin of Savoy and green beans $34.95

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3B5%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C8343nu0mrj

G ordered the Bouillabaisse - sauteed scallops, mahi mahi and black tiger shrimp served in a saffron seafood broth with potatoes and fennel $30.95
but for some reason I can't find a picture of it. :confused3

Dessert was next. There is a display of desserts here so I went up and took some pictures.

Sorry about the glare.. They were under a glass.

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3B5%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C858%3Cnu0mrj

For some reason I completely looked over the other delicious looking desserts and got the Assiette de sorbets du jour - Daily assortment of fresh sorbets $7.25 :confused3

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3B4%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C8348nu0mrj

It melted fast by the time it came to the table and was soup before receiving the check.

M, G, and D all ordered the same dessert.

Profiteroles au chocolat - Puff choux with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce $7.25

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3B6%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C8599nu0mrj

I've been excited for this one ever since we made ADRs. It's a great opportunity to take pictures with the Fab 5, who you really don't see in the park that often. I find it odd that the most famous characters, Mickey and Minnie, are not in the parks as much as some others. Mickey's pretty tough...we usually go to the Judge's Tent in Toontown Fair to see him.
And where's Daisy anywhere? I don't see her. I hear she's at Tusker House?

Okay, before I start I'd like to just warn you that when you make reservations for 7:10AM, just be aware that there most likely will NOT be a bus anywhere to get you at 6AM so you can go an hour early and explore the resort! If so, you may need a taxi (or if you rented a car, even better!) Our naive minds figured that there would be a bus for people who are in our scenario. Well, there wasn't.

Actually, it was very funny. We were waiting at the bus stop from 6AM to see if a bus would come. We gave up a while later to talk to a taxi driver parked in front of the resort. While talking to him, we noticed the bus.

It came and went....

Ah, we missed it! Oh, well. We took the taxi to the Contemporary Resort.
I love this resort! I actually was going to make resort reservations here but we settled with Animal Kingdom Lodge because that sounds fun too. The Contemporary is a great resort! I love the It's a Small World wall. Maybe we'll stay here next time! Now that it's a DVC resort, I'll definitely look into it.

Right after checking in, the CM placed us to take a photo by a big plate with blue mickeys all around the rim. Afterwards, they come around the table showing you the pictures. Smart idea...how can you say no after you see them right in front of you like that?

A plate of food:

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3B4%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C834%3Bnu0mrj

In the center left is a slice of peanut butter and jelly pizza. Very cute idea! On top is another slice of pizza, but this one is the breakfast pizza. C loved these and it's all he ate here, along with bacon. French toast on the bottom left. Next to the pizza is a warm and flaky biscuit, and cheesy potatoes. I went back for the potatoes multiple times. They were really good. Next to those is a moist and fudgy brownie.

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3B5%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C859%3Bnu0mrj

Breakfast potatoes, sausages, and bacon. This was D's plate. Cinnamon rolls were really good.

The character interaction was great here. It's a nice place to take pictures with Mickey. I love their Chef costumes!

I have Chef Mickey's dinner booked for the upcoming trip but am a bit hesitant. I hope it's as good as breakfast was!

For lunch, we walked to Germany. I love the Biergarten but we haven't dined there the past two trips. Instead, we chose Sommerfest which was right outside the Biergarten.

We all ordered the same thing.

Frankfurter served with sauerkraut and roll $6.59

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3A%3B%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B% 3EWSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C8357nu0mrj

Blech! The roll was really dry and the frankfurter was tasteless. None of us finished it. It took a few bites to dump these in the trash. I didn't like how the saurkraut was warm, either. Whenever I want saurkraut at home, I take it out of the fridge and top it onto hot dogs cold.

Our desserts were pretty different.

M and I both chose a slice of Black Forest Cake $3.59

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3B4%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C85%3A4nu0mrj

This was really good! I cut half of it to eat but it was so light that I ended up eating it all. I'd come here for a slice of cake again.

G ordered an Apple Strudel with vanilla sauce $3.59

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3B8%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C835%3Anu0mrj

Looks good. I didn't try any.

D had a Salted Soft Pretzel - $4.29

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3B7%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C85%3A6nu0mrj

Germany's pretzels!

I would definitely consider the Sommerfest again for snacks but wouldn't come for franks unless we try the bratwurst on the menu instead.

Dinner today was at Coral Reef. I was actually contemplating on us walking up to Biergarten instead as we weren't so sure about the menu. In the end, we waited here to be seated. Even with reservations, it took us at least 30 minutes to be seated.

For my drink, I had the Strawberry Stinger $3.99

http://images2c.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp536%3B2%3Enu%3D32%3A7%3E664%3E896%3E 2398664987246ot1lsi

Very sweet and refreshing.

M also had a nonalcoholic drink that is on the DDP. I believe it's the Great White $3.99 but not sure because it isn't written down.

http://images2d.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp536%3A2%3Enu%3D32%3A7%3E664%3E898%3E 2398664989246ot1lsi

We were given bread and a mixture of olive oil and balsamic vinegar to dip the bread in.

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3B6%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C8363nu0mrj

Don't worry, that bread didn't come half-eaten! ;)

Olive oil and balsamic vinegar:

We actually ordered no appetizers today so straight to the entrees.

D ordered the Seared Sterling Salmon - with ratatouille $23.99

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3B8%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C8367nu0mrj

He really enjoyed it.

M ordered the Grilled NY Strip Steak - Served with potatoes au gratin and broccolini. - $30.99

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3B4%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C8365nu0mrj

I ordered the Grilled Mahi Mahi - served with spiced pineapple chutney over cashew-jasmine rice finished with coconut rum beurre blanc $25.99

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3B4%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C85%3A%3Anu0mrj

I requested the coconut rum buerre blanc on the side because I don't like coconut that much and didn't know if I'd like the sauce.

I have never tried Mahi Mahi before and I thought it was okay. It isn't too "fishy"; very mild. The cashew-jasmine rice was on the bland side, but that's probably what the buerre blanc is for. I didn't use the sauce at all, so not sure how it was. The fish was fine by itself without the sauce, anyway.

For some reason, I did not get a picture of C or G's meal! I don't know why..Maybe we were too distracted by the fish tank!

For dessert we all ordered the The Chocolate Wave - served with brandied cherries $7.99

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3B8%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C8369nu0mrj

I had some while waiting for the check. It was very rich. When you broke the center, the melted chocolate came pouring out. Yum! But I still prefer the Kiluaea Torte over this one.

This was actually my least favorite restaurant from the trip. I wouldn't make reservations here again and the others agree. I think there are just much better places in Disney. It would have been nicer if we went to Biergarten.

After dinner, we walked back to the hotel and stopped by Beaches & Cream. C wanted a Hot Fudge Sundae - 2 scoops $5.99

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3B5%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C85%3A%3Cnu0mrj

It looks good! Great choice, C! :thumbsup2

I am sad to report that we did not order a kitchen sink on this trip! We have talked about it several times but it just never happened. Maybe next time! But I think it's an amazing idea to order the whipped cream on the side if we do get it. Just seems so much less messy!

LOVE these real life reviews. It's really nice to read others' opinions when contemplating the MEGAtude of Disney dining options! Did your Dad have to be on the DDP from day one, even tho he arrived later in your trip? My DH is joining us (me, DS, 14, and 2 picky kids under 10) on day 5 of our 7 day trip to Beach Club. I'd consider the DDP, but can't see paying for his when he'll only be there a few days! :-(

Yes, sorry to say that we were given all credits, including his, on the first day. He came on day 8 of 14 and we were given his credits from the previous 7 days. In a way it was nice because we were able to eat at a few more TS meals instead of only one per day. This left us a lot of extra snack credits, though! We were left with about 12 on the last day that we spent on cookies and candy. But I understand that it is a waste because you'll be paying an extra $38/day for someone who won't even be there. At least they let you pool all your TS credits (minus kids, of course, which is just for the under 10) and anyone in your room can use the credits.

We're back to Downtown Disney and hungry again! We could NOT go to DTD without showing G Wolfgang Puck Express. It was so good that he had to try it too!

I wanted my Barbecue Chicken Quesadilla again but decided against it. There are so many more options and I'm going to try something new this time. Usually when I find something I like, I stick with it, in case I don't like the new food at all or as much as the one I first had.

But today I was adventurous and ordered the

Fire-Roasted Focaccia Melts
Knife and Fork Creations
Freshly baked in all natural breads

Mediterranean Vegetable - A savory blend of fresh goat cheese, mozzarella and Grana Padano Parmesan, sautéed zucchini, mushrooms, eggplant and peppers blended with sun-dried tomatoes and rolled in warm, all-natural garlic focaccia bread. Served with organic mixed baby greens $11.95

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3B5%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C%3B6%3B7nu0mrj

YUM. I am so glad that I ordered this because it definitely beat the BBQ Chicken Quesadilla. It was soooo good. It came really hot so the cheese was gooey and stringy. No problem, I loved it! The garlic bread wasn't subtly garlicky but REALLY garlicky. Like garlic knots at the pizzeria but rolled out in a flat pizza dough shape. A bit too oily, however. I'd dab it with a napkin a bit but it still tasted so good!

The only thing is that they wouldn't let me sub the side salad (which hardly had a dressing and was left on the plate uneaten) for the housemade parmesan potato chips. Oh, well. :confused3

G, D, and M all chose a pasta dish from the

Pastas
(Served with petite Caesar or organic mixed baby greens)

They all chose a Caesar salad.

Yum! I love the croutons.

M ordered the

Rigatoni with Chicken Bolognese - all natural chicken bolognese topped with Grana Padano Parmesan $14.95

The pasta dishes here look really good. :thumbsup2

G and D ordered Spaghetti with Tomato, Basil, and Garlic - $11.95

C had the same dish as last time, which was the

Crispy Chicken Fingers with French Fries $6.95 from the kid's menu. It also comes with a choice of milk or a fountain drink.

Those fries look yummy! :thumbsup2

Dessert was frozen yogurt for D, G, and M but I had a chocolate chip cookie instead. We're all chocolate people so chocolate frozen yogurt for everyone.

Frozen Yogurt with one Topping $4.25 (additional toppings .75)

Frozen yogurt from last time:

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3B8%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C6759nu0mrj

This stuff is SO good. Very thick and creamy. It's nonfat frozen yogurt.

My cookie:

Chewy and lots of chocolate chips. More moist than the chocolate chip cookies at Concierge. Pretty good but I'd still stick with the chocolate frozen yogurt.

This was definitely a bittersweet experience. As excited as I was to try the new and highly raved Italian restaurant, Tutto Italia, I was also upset that this was our last full day at Disney! The last day is so sad but you have to go home at some point! Besides, once we go home, I start planning for the next trip. ;) In fact, our 90 day ADR window for the December trip opens up just about two weeks after we come home from the August/September trip!

Now on to Tutto Italia. I have heard so much about this place. We definitely had to try it! We couldn't find a reservation for any other day, but this was a perfect end to our vacation.

This trip was back when reservations were 180 days in advance. Usually, we don't even have a trip planned 180 days in advance! Last year we found every restaurant we wanted (except for dinner at Le Cellier, of course), even if it wasn't the day/time we wanted. I have to say that it is shocking because this year just seems so much more busy, as if everybody just became "in the know" about calling for reservations early.

This year, I made sure to call at 7AM on our 90-day mark to make sure that we get everything we want. I try tweaking reservations because the trip has to be perfect! Most of the time, though, I can't find anything else and have to settle with what I have. I'm fine with the reservations, but I just can't believe that hardly any restaurants have availability anymore. I wonder how we were able to book reservations in our previous trips when we had no knowledge about WDW. :confused3

Sorry about the mini restaurant availability rant ;). Back to the FOOD!

Before your appetizer, you are given a small bowl of giardiniera with pickled vegetables and olives.

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3B8%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C8379nu0mrj

Note that I said SMALL. I love giardiniera. It is a staple in our refridgerator and I actually ran out and have to buy more soon. I didn't like this one, here. This one wasn't as strong from the vinegar. It was just bland and way too salty. I shouldn't be one to complain, however. It was free.

Next they give you a generous bread basket! We get a lovely big bowl of assorted breads.

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3B7%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C%3B6%3B8nu0mrj

I ate all the bread sticks! This made a perfectly fine appetizer.

G wanted a Caesar Salad - romaine, olive crostini, pomodorini, and shaved parmesan $16

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3A%3B%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B% 3EWSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C837%3Bnu0mrj

I've said it before: I don't like when you have to cut your own salad!

M ordered the Insalata Mista - arugula, radicchio, and endive, citrus vinaigrette $12

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3B9%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C%3B6%3B%3Anu0mrj

And onto the entrees.

D decided to be boring and order
Spaghetti - veal meatballs and pomodoro sauce $24

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3B4%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C8383nu0mrj

I can make spaghetti and meatballs at home and it won't cost $24. :upsidedow

M ordered the
Bucatini Gratinati with Italian prosciutto ham, peas and parmesan cream $24

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3A%3B%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B% 3EWSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C8385nu0mrj

M said this was way too rich! When you break through the top crust it's all gooey and creamy underneath. Although I wanted to order this, she said that she'd rather have what I ordered instead.

I ordered the
Lasagna al Forno with meat ragu, bechamel and parmesan $24

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3B6%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C%3B6%3B%3Bnu0mrj

YUM! I don't usually eat lasagna at home but this was so good! Pretty heavy, though. There was dessert to save room for! I would definitely recomend it. The only thing was that I'm used to extremely cheesy lasagna. This didn't have that much.

Once again I didn't take a picture of G's food. I'm sorry about that.. he didn't like it when I was taking pictures of food! As you can guess, he is not a DISer. ;) I do remember that he ordered the Branzino in Padella - striped bass filet with sweet tomatoes, zucchini and Sardinian "fregoal" $35 and he did rave about it when we were talking about the trip.

C ordered the Pizzetta - with mozzarella and tomatoes $9.50

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3B5%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C%3B723nu0mrj

Sorry, it's so blurry! C ate it all.

Now it's dessert time.

C's dessert

Note for the OOP folks- kid's meal at Tutto Italia did not include dessert as it is extra. On the DDP it is included since you get an entree, dessert, and beverage with every meal.

C had the
Spuma di Cioccolato - Chocolate Mousse $5.00

I knew he would order this because he loves chocolate mousse! He ate it all, so it was definitely good! I don't know what happened to the picture. :confused3

My dessert was the
Gianduja - Chocolate Torta - chocolate and hazelnut torte with whipped cream and raspberry sauce $10.00

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3B4%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C%3B724nu0mrj

Love the presentation! The cake was VERY rich and dense. I know that some people don't like "too rich" chocolate but I don't think that exists! I loved it. It was my favorite TS dessert and I will definitely be ordering it again in the future.

D and M went with a classic Italian favorite.

Mocha Tiramisu - mascarpone cheese, espresso coffee, savoiardi biscuits and chocolate $9.00

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3B8%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C8387nu0mrj

Note to self: next trip, must review picture quickly after taking it to make sure it isn't blurry!! I always snapped a quick pic before someone dug into their food. Apparently, that isn't the best way because my camera at the time would blur with the slightest movement. I got a new camera this year that should work perfectly!

I did not taste the tiramisu. Looked very good, and they both ate it all.

No picture of G's dessert as usual.

This was a PERFECT way to end the trip. Tutto Italia is up there on our favorites now. Although it's a pretty expensive choice ($24 for spaghetti with with tomato sauce?) it was a great restaurant and perfect on the DDP.

Next up is breakfast a Cape May Cafe and a few packaged foods from the trip.

Thanks for all of the great reviews! I am so living vicariously through you and other Disers right now! I managed to sneak in a super quick trip in May (only 1 park day!), but this year is mostly Disney free since we're saving up to bring home our two little girls from Ukraine! Hopefully we'll get to go again next year. That will be our first trip to Disney as parents! Woo-hoo!

As far as Mickey shaped foods go, the Mickey Premium bar is my favorite. (see my signature!) I usually don't go for vanilla ice cream, but I do when it's covered in thick, rich chocolate!

And definitely try the Tuna Melt from Earl of Sandwich. I got it in May, and it was SOOOO good. Even better than the other sandwiches I've had there, none of which have been bad! I'll have to go try the tuna sandwich at CHH, too!

Thanks again!

I'm glad you got a new camera, but I wanted to say--could it be shutter shake? You know, the camera moves when you press the button? I read somewhere to set your camera on a 2 second delay in low light, especially if you're not using a flash, and it has revolutionized my picture taking! :goodvibes So I just wanted to pass that along in case you need it.

Loving your reviews, and looking forward to the Cape May one ... that's one we're doing in September!

Thanks for the tip!

My old camera would change the wheel setting (night, portrait, landscape, etc.) by itself and I wouldn't know until I took the picture. Different settings made it blur without me noticing. The night setting in particular would snap the picture, then process it for a few seconds. If I moved the camera while it was processing the picture, it would blur.

But I was looking through my new camera's photo settings- I purchased the Olympus Stylus Tough 6000- and it has a cuisine setting! So, I am going to proudly take pictures of food on the food setting. :teeth:

Today was our last day at Disney. :sad1: Instead of moping around, we had booked a reservation for us to go to Cape May Cafe for breakfast. The Magical Express was going to pick us up around 12-1PM.

In the beginning of our Beach Club stay, we asked to look around Cape May's dinner buffet to see if we would like it. After going around the buffet, we decided against and figured that we wouldn't like it. Breakfast is a nice choice as well, mainly because of the characters. Now, we were able to get a few quick pics with Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, and Dale before leaving Disney.

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3B3%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C%3B726nu0mrj

There are some cheesy potatoes, a biscuit with white gravy, bread pudding, and a chocolate croissant on this plate. I liked Cape May's pastry selection. They had quite a few different ones.

The biscuits were, as always, flaky, buttery, and very good. I loved the thick and creamy gravy.

The eggs were very fluffy, so no rubbery eggs here.

The bread pudding with vanilla sauce was the best part! I could come to Cape May for breakfast and pile the bread pudding on a plate to eat just that. It was very warm. Reminded me of Pooh's breakfast lasagna without the berries. Great cinnamon flavor.

Potatoes were really cheesy and most of us went back for more.

Another view of the plate:

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3B2%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C8393nu0mrj

I didn't think that Cape May had a breakfast selection comparable to Crystal Palace or Chef Mickey's. I found it to be a little smaller.

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3B4%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C8395nu0mrj

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3B6%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C%3B728nu0mrj

They had a yogurt station:

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3A%3B%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B% 3EWSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C8397nu0mrj

Gread idea! They had yogurt for you with many assorted toppins like granola, dried fruit, etc. I don't like yogurt, however, so I didn't have any.

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3B7%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B69%3C%3B4nu0mrj

And a fruit bowl for us to share:

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3B7%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C%3B72%3Anu0mrj

Disney's fruit is great. Fresh! I was happy that the canteloupe wasn't soggy or mushy. Grapes were crunchy, which was great.

The character interaction here was GREAT! I haven't seen a character interaction like here before. The characters sat with us to take pictures. They all played tic-tac-toe with C who was SO happy! The tables are covered in paper so C drew the tic-tac-toe board in crayon and when the characters would come around, he offered them a crayon to play with him. They all did! It was so cute.

After Cape May, I was curious as to how many snack credits we had left, because I was sure that we used all of the table, but had a few counter left.

We had 12 snack credits left!! So we ran to Epcot (did I tell you how much I loved how close Beach Club was to Epcot? I did? Well, it was AMAZING!) to get some of those delicious Minnie's bake shop cookies. They were huge and a snack credit each. We first went to Mouse Gears to get the cookies, then to the gift shop on the Boardwalk to get a few more things.

The CM that was ringing up the cookies for me told me that the Raspberry White Chocolate cookie was her favorite, so I grabbed one to try it:

http://images2c.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp536%3A7%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D32%3B4%3B43287337nu0mrj

She also said to try melting the cookies in the microwave for a few seconds before eating them. Back at home we tried this. It was a great idea! The chocolate melted and the cookie became so soft. I love these cookies.

Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip:

http://images2c.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp5366%3A%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D32%3B4%3B43695337nu0mrj

This one was our unanimous favorite. The peanut butter made the cookie extra soft, and who doesn't love the PB and chocolate combination?

Chocolate Crunch Cookie:

http://images2c.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp53668%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3EWS NRCG%3D32%3B4%3B43699337nu0mrj

It was definitely crunchy, with what looked like M&Ms and toffee bits in the cookie. After melting it in the microwave, it was a lot better.

Chocolate Supreme Cookie:

http://images2d.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp53693%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3EWS NRCG%3D32%3B4%3B43289337nu0mrj

This one was classic chocolate chip. SO good. There were so many chocolate chips that the cookie practically oozed chocolate after microwaving.

And now onto the Boardwalk sweets we picked up:

Of course, we had to pick up a pack of these for the trip home:

http://images2d.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp53697%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3EWS NRCG%3D32%3B4%3B4369%3A337nu0mrj

opened:

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3B9%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C%3B72%3Bnu0mrj

And we picked up a few rice krispie treats:

Football shaped:

http://images2d.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp53699%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3EWS NRCG%3D32%3B4%3B43286337nu0mrj

Mickey shaped:

http://images2c.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp5366%3B%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D32%3B4%3B43694337nu0mrj

That was a nice morning! We finished up our snack credits and table service credits. Now, we had 4 CS credits left! So before leaving, we grabbed lunch at the Beach Club Marketplace.

M and I had a Made to Order Salad $8.99 again

Just a comparison shot.

This was the salad before the bowl got smaller. You can kind of see the octagonal shape of the plastic plate:
http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3B9%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C3%3B47nu0mrj

And this is what it looked like after they changed the bowl size:

http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3B2%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3E WSNRCG%3D3238%3B8%3B%3B%3C8399nu0mrj

Well, it was still tasty!

We got brownies as CS dessert again and D got a Roast Beef and Brie on Ciabatta Roll $7.19 again.

G didn't eat anything and we were left with a snack credit. C just nibbled on the brownie; he didn't want a meal.

And there we ended a great trip! The Magical Express took us to the airport so we could go home. I loved the video they played; it was really cute! We didn't take a Magical Express- just G did when he came- to the Beach Club so this was the first time we were on it. Now with the upcoming trip 22 days away, we will hop aboard the Magical Express soon! :thumbsup2

Thank you all very much for reading these reviews! :wizard:

Thanks for the pics and review of Cape May. We will be eating there for the 1st time in Oct. Our last b'fast before we leave the BC.

My DS 11 loves those cookies so much that I found a web site where you can order them. I ordered them for my husbands clients also as a holiday gift. They are made by Selma's Cookies (I spotted a delivery truck while we were there last year). They also sell assorted rice krispy treats. the website is www.selmas.com . Just in case anyone wants to order them from home. They are quite good.

Thank you for taking the time to write this report/review! I cannot wait now, to have some more of that yummy disney food again myself.

Now I'm fascinated. What does a "cuisine" setting do? Is it similar to a digital macro setting?

The camera says that it enhances the color of still life photography.

I tried flash without the setting in a bag of pretzels and they came out white because of the brightness. Then, I tried flash with the setting and the pretzels were just like they'd look if they weren't in the dark bag. I also tried no flash without the setting and it was too dark.

Your welcome. I am just glad I saw a delivery truck driving around while we there. I can't remember if it said anything on the wrapper but once I saw they were sold in theme parks in fl and ca on their website I knew I was in the right place. My husbands clients and coworkers loved them. I also sent some to family. Only problem is no one wants to know how many calories are in them. We didn't have any brownies in WDW but I ordreded a sampler package for ourselves and found everything was scrumptious.

Pastries, muffins, cakes, donut holes:

White gravy, Mickey waffles, scrambled eggs.

Omelette (fritatta?) , pancakes:

Potatoes, sausage:

Puffed french toast, more breakfast pizza:

Now to our plates. I just pile everything on, so lets see how I'll identify everything. ;)

Pancakes. Light and fluffy, this was taken before they were drowned in maple syrup. Another biscuit, potatoes. Too much oil on the potatoes...they stayed on the plate.

I was thinking of getting one of the sampler packages. Definitely want cookies and brownies in it. If we weren't going in less than 3 weeks, I would have ordered them by now! :thumbsup2

I was looking at that for a while, then found a menu of breakfast offerings online. At first I thought it could be lox but now I'm pretty sure that it is roasted ham.
