Thinking about booking, but confused about dates...these 3 days normally leave on Thursdays, I think this one leaves on a Wedneday, is this correct, so is it Wed-Sat the 26th?

jenny105
10-06-2008, 05:14 PM
Nope, it leaves on Thursday the 24th and returns that Sunday, the morning of the 27th.

We've booked this cruise as part of our land and sea package! :cool1: It will be me, my husband, and our just turned 3 year old son (he'll be turning 3 while we are on our land portion) We are so excited! I'm sure there will be many more people here when we are closer to our time. Anyone interested in doing some fish extender gift exchanges?

Can't wait everyone!!

jenny105
10-30-2008, 04:43 PM
If you can explain to me what that is, I'd appreciate it. DCL is brand new to me!

I also booked the land & sea package. 20th-24th at POR! Never stayed before!

Hi Jenny!! I think we will be staying at POFQ!

Here is a great thread about fish extenders (FE). Basically, make a fish extender (or something that has pockets.. more info in the post link below) and who ever wants to participate leaves little gifts as a gift exchange. Doesn't have to be anything major, just a little "fun" for everyone!

Thanks for the link! I would definitely like to do this. It seems like fun! I'm going to search for more links so I can find more information and get some ideas going ;) It's funny because I have a trip coming up in a couple of weeks but almost all of my attention has been focused on the cruise!

Awesome! Neither my boyfriend or I have been on the cruise but have made plenty of trips to the world together. You're soon-to-be husband is in for a treat! You have to introduce him to the obsession that is WDW! :thumbsup2

I've never stayed at the Poly but I've gone walking around the grounds. It's gorgeous!

I have been to disney about 10-12 times and it is one of my favorite places to go and the cruise is amazing so i am really looking forward to him doing all this for the first time. This will be my first time staying at the poly i have walked around it before and i thought it was beautiful.

11-03-2008, 08:23 PM
oh yes the smaller the number of months the happier i get. yeah i made a banner but the first time i tried to post it in my signature i posted the wrong version so all that showed up was the website.

jenny105
11-04-2008, 11:25 AM
 I made mine when I first booked and it said 1 year and 2 days. I'm glad it's dropped to months now. 10 1/2 months to go! :cool1:

Funny, I should be looking forward more to my trip that's less than two weeks away but I'm more excited about this one!!

disney honeymooners
11-04-2008, 09:02 PM
Yeah well nothing against universal i have been there quite a few times and i have stayed at the portifino hotel it was nice but there is just something about a disney vacation that gets you excited no matter how far away it is.

jenny105
11-06-2008, 01:14 PM
I agree! I'm going to Universal just cause I feel like I've neglected it for so long. But I'm going to MVMCP during my stay down there too. Wouldn't be a trip to Orlando with at least one day in Disney!

11-07-2008, 12:20 AM
The last time i was at disney when it was decorated for christmas was when the castle was decorated to look like a giant pink birthday cake i would love to go again when it was done for christmas i love how it looks and the christmas light at the hollywood studios or as i still call it MGM Studios! Universal is fun and staying at one of their hotels was great b/c when you show your room key you get to go to the front of the line but Disney is still my hands down favorite and that will never change.

jenny105
11-07-2008, 12:39 PM
I agree with you there. Disney just has a certain quality, it really is magical. You really do feel like you're in a different "world."

I'll take lots of pictures of the decorations at MK for you! :)

11-07-2008, 02:35 PM
thank you i look forward to seeing the pictures i am trying to figure out if they are going to be having MNSSHP while we are down there next September i am gonna add it to my disney honeymoon regisrty but i guess i wont know the dates of it until probably 6 months before we go. I hope they are having it while we are down there i have seen pictures of it and everything looks so cool and it is decorated wonderfully. I love the honeymoon regisrty it makes it possible for us to make the most out of our disney trip without spending our extra money.

jenny105
11-07-2008, 05:17 PM
We're hoping for a MNSSHP date while we're down there too. That'll be the only party we haven't been to and we really want to check it out. We'll just have to wait and see! :hourglass

well i figured since i had a banner for my honeymoon i should have one for the wedding as well. This time is actually passing faster than i thought it would usually when i have a disney trip planned it tends to take FOREVER!!!

jenny105
11-10-2008, 12:01 PM
I loved that the wedding one was an afterthought :rotfl:

disney honeymooners
11-10-2008, 08:37 PM
yeah i know its sad that i put disney over my wedding but i am a disney fanatic and my finance thinks it is funny. I put my wedding countdown up on my myspace page before the honeymoon one and of course my wedding one on myspace has minnie and mickey on it.

jenny105
11-11-2008, 11:34 AM
Well, of course, why wouldn't it? ;)

Are you going to get the bride and groom ears to wear?

disney honeymooners
11-11-2008, 12:03 PM
OH YEAH!!!! I am going to disney the March before the wedding with my mom and aunt it is our last trip together before i get married and we are going to Animal Kingdom since my mom has never been there and we are going to downtown disney while we are there and i am going to pick up the mickey ears for me and my DFi. We are going to wear them at the rehersal and i am giong to bring them with us on the honeymoon i am still trying to talk him into wearing them to one of the parks but no luck so far. But i will def. get alot of pictures of us in the ears.

jenny105
11-11-2008, 03:11 PM
Awesome! :thumbsup2
He has to wear them to one of the parks, Magic Kingdom at least!
Are you getting married in Disney? Or closer to home and then going there for the honeymoon?

disney honeymooners
11-11-2008, 05:40 PM
if i had the money we would be getting married in disney but since we dont we are getting married close to home and we are doing the honeymoon with disney. He is already talking about booking another disney cruise while we are on this one but one of the 7 day cruises since he works for the railroad he gets 2 weeks off a year and he wants our next cruise to be a full week. I have no problems with that. :cool1:

jenny105
11-13-2008, 04:24 PM
I wouldn't either! I loooooove cruises! Best vacations ever.

disney honeymooners
11-13-2008, 04:44 PM
yes they are the best i have been on three DCL, Big Red Boat (bankrupt now), and Royal Caribbean. DCL has been the best but anything that has to do with disney is the BEST!! The food was the best and typical disney service which no other cruise line can really compare with.

jenny105
11-24-2008, 11:50 AM
I've been on NCL and RCCL. NCL was fun but I hear people don't like it much (I'm not picky! I loved it!) and RCCL, I was just blown away by the ship. I'm looking forward to DCL, since I've never done it before and the Disney service is probably going to put it over the top.

I went to check out POR while I was down in Orlando this past week. GORGEOUS! I can't wait. Just under 10 months to go! ;)

disney honeymooners
11-24-2008, 05:44 PM
How was your universal trip? Yeah POR looked nice when I stayed at POFQ it is on my list of places at Disney i want to stay at. I have been on RCCL it was ok but the ship we went on was the same age as me and looked like it was stuck in the 80's and the carpet was peeling up in our rooms i am sure if we had been on one of their newer ships it would have been better. DCL is wonderful and the service is the same as at the parks and resorts so yes you will get spoiled.

jenny105
11-26-2008, 04:02 PM
Universal was great! Not crowded at all so no waits for anything. It was a little chilly though, not even reaching the 70s, but that didn't stop us from going on water rides! I also made a trip to Sea World and MVMCP. I saw a different pair of bride & groom ears at DTD. It wasn't the bride headband, it was the actual cap, with the white ears & tiara & veil on top. The groom's looked like a tux with the ears and top hat in the middle. So cute! I actually liked those better ;)

I went on one of the newer ships during my RCCL cruise so I think that's why I loved it so much. It was the Explorer of the Seas and it was gigantic and had an ice skating rink, mini-golf, rock climbing, etc. It kept us busy!!

And I can't wait to stay at POR! I'm going to get lost at that resort, I already know it!

disney honeymooners
11-26-2008, 07:20 PM
I went to disney for my senior spring break and it was freezing when we went to animal kingdom but we still went on Kahli River Rapids (luckly we didn't get wet) yeah i have seen the new ears my DFi hates the new groom ears so i am gonna buy mine and his on ebay or amazon. I have heard that they have a pin saying that you are honeymooners but i can't figure out where to get them i want to wear them when we go in the parks. I am gonna get us baseball caps to wear in the parks that say bride and groom on them b/c i don't want to pack the groom ears it is too big to pack. You wont get lost i had a friend that went to POR and didn't get lost. I have only been to POFQ and since it is much smaller i had no problem finding my way.

jenny105
11-28-2008, 11:02 AM
They have 'just married' pins with Cinderella and her prince on it. Ask at the front desk of your hotel, they should have them there. I know they carry the "birthday" and "1st visit" ones at the hotels. If not, you can go to guest services at any park.

disney honeymooners
11-28-2008, 12:39 PM
Thank you i have read on the Wedding and Honeymoon boards that if you wear either the pins or the hats you could get VIP stuff i am getting baseball caps for us for the pictures at MK I don't want to pack the Grooms ears for the trip i know if i do with my luck they will get destroyed. My aunt is thinking about paying for one of the Bonvoyage packages for the cruise so we will have it waiting in our stateroom. I am not having champagne at the wedding so she wants us to atleast have some on our honeymoon. I'm just happy with the honeymoon itself anything else is just icing on the cake. Did you get good pictures of MVMCP?

jenny105
12-01-2008, 11:01 AM
No champagne at the wedding? Isn't that sac-relig? ;) Champagne is my favorite part of a wedding! lol I love it. Make sure you have some on the cruise!!

I took a LOT of pictures while I was at MK. If you want, leave me your email address and I'll send them to you via snapfish. All my pix from the trip are on there. You'll notice I took a lot more at MVMCP than I did at anything else! :santa:

12-01-2008, 11:50 AM
yeah well i had to make a few costly cuts to save money for our reception and alcohol was not on the list of things i HAVE to HAVE b/c there would only have been a few people who drank it plus i think it would be very special for just me and him to have it in our stateroom and i think sitting on our verahnda looking out at the ocean sipping the champagne would be really romatic and nice for us. Of course you would have more pictures of disney that is what the majority of your pictures should be if you go to even one disney park i'm sure when i go in march i will have more pictures of AK then sea world. here is my email address daphnie1985@comcast.net i look forward to seeing your pictures.

jenny105
12-03-2008, 03:16 PM
I just wanted to let you know I sent you the pictures via Snapfish! :)

Good now i don't feel quite as southern well that is until i hear myself on an answering machine:rolleyes: i always sound more southern than i thought i did before. Looks like i wont be going to disney in march we had to change our plans but i am gonna get the ears off of ebay and i will try to post those pictures right after the rehersal that is if i can figure out how to post them i have never posted pictures anywhere but myspace.

jenny105
12-04-2008, 03:11 PM
I can help you out with posting pictures if you want. It's pretty simple, I can walk you through it.

I never think I have an accent until people from other states say I do. I just don't hear it but I notice when other NJ people have an accent. I just don't think I'm one of them!

disney honeymooners
12-04-2008, 03:28 PM
Thank You! yeah to me everyone else in my family have strong southern accents but i typicaly dont notice mine. Im getting a couple of disney bride and groom shirts made for me and my DFi one for MK and one for when we get on the cruise ship

jenny105
12-04-2008, 04:37 PM
No problem! Just let me know when ya need me :)

I'll definitely keep an eye out for newlywed/honeymooner shirts on the ship!

disney honeymooners
12-04-2008, 04:43 PM
well the ones for the ship are going to be i think the polo shirts on the disney website with the small picture of either mickey or minnie on the left shoulder with bride or groom stiched under it the ones for the park are going to be alittle more obvious and we are gonna have bride and groom ball caps made for the rest of the parks. That plus the honeymoon pin will make us easy to spot even with alot of people there. :rotfl:

jenny105
12-05-2008, 11:18 AM
Usually, when I spot people on a boat, I see them over and over again. And I always notice the people in the parks who have the newlywed/honeymooner stuff so maybe I'll spot you! If there's a newlywed game on the ship, you two should definitely get in on that!!

disney honeymooners
12-05-2008, 12:00 PM
I know there is a game "how well do you knwo your mate" i wan to try and play that one my DFi says that is there is a disney trivia game that i need to play it b/c when ever we play disney scene it i am always on finish when everyone else is on start that is why we have only played each edition about once or twice. :) Everyone in my family knows that if they have a question about anything disney to just ask me i usually know the answer before they finish the question and they use me as their personal disney travel agent(that is sad).

jenny105
12-05-2008, 12:45 PM
My family does the same thing with me! My cousin and I are their Disney go-to girls. My friends are always asking me questions about WDW too. Do you always get 'You're going there again?' or 'Weren't you just there?' questions because I do, frequently.

I know they have a Disney trivia game on the ship, I think they have one called 'who wants to be a mouseketeer?' We should compete! :rotfl:

disney honeymooners
12-05-2008, 03:17 PM
Oh yeah i get both those questions alot along with "don't you get tired of going there?" and my response to that is to look at them like they are speaking a foreign language. Oh yes we should def. compete we would kick butt. :cool2: I'm sure my DFi would film it i we are going in together for our christmas present this year we are getting a dvd camcorder so that my family members that have never been to disney can see just how much fun it is (pictures can only help so much)

jenny105
12-05-2008, 03:47 PM
I do the same thing! I give them a funny look and just say 'No' in this 'how dare you even suggest that?' tone of voice :rotfl: People just don't get it. There's always something new or something I haven't done yet. I'll never see it all!

That's a good idea to record everything. We did that our last trip but never uploaded the footage so it was kind of a waste lol. I should've done that this trip for my co-worker. He's the nicest guy but totally clueless when it comes to Disney. His brother lives in Florida and he went to visit them and got a free ticket. He went to AK and the Studios, the wrong two parks to pick when you've never been to Epcot or MK! He's never even seen the castle. And on top of that, when I asked him if he at least went on Kilamanjaro Safari or Bug's Life, he didn't even know what they were!! :confused3

disney honeymooners
12-05-2008, 04:15 PM
OMG how can you not go on the safari or its tough to be a bug those are the best. When ever we do AK we do the extra magic morning hours and that is the ride we make a bee line for even if we are out of breath by the time we get there i always have wanted to be the first people on it in the morning so far i have been the 2nd and 3rd cars but i have always gotten my best safari pic in the morning. after that the rest of the day is alot calmer. MK is my fav park i love the castle! My family dislikes Epcot but i like it even if we did the world showcase in 15min one time i swear we got the pictures back and my stepmom was like who are these people in the picture i told her that they had asked her to take a picture of them with THEIR camera and she did take a picture of them but with OUR camera!!:lmao: it is a running joke in my family

jenny105
12-09-2008, 04:27 PM
:lmao: That's too funny! Just some random people. I wonder what their reaction was when they didn't see a picture of themselves on their camera!

That's a good plan for AK. I've never done the EMH there. We usually get pretty good shots of the safari but it's probably even better in the morning, when it's cooler and there's less people on the ride. I'll have to do that next time!

World Showcase in 15 min?? It takes me HOURS to get around there. Have you ever had the shaved ices in Japan? AWESOME! :thumbsup2

disney honeymooners
12-09-2008, 05:59 PM
They probably werent to happy, we were going around the world showcase to burn up our fast pass time for test track. We did the world showcase in 15 minutes and we still had half an hour before our fast pass time was up for Test Track :rotfl2: and we used that time to try and catch our breath that is why now when i go i walk slowly and go in all the areas. I will have to try the shaved ice there i have been in the resteraunt in Italy and Mexico they were ok i like the Italy one better than mexico(however the atmosphere in the mexico one was GREAT!) I have also heard from other people that there is a lady that makes candy for you in japan the pictures people have of the cany she has made for them is wonderful.

jenny105
12-10-2008, 11:00 AM
Definitely try an ice! The stand is right outside the pavillion, it's one of the first things you'll see if you're coming from the American side. Get the rainbow one. So good! We make a point of it to stop there on every trip.

I've never eaten at the Italian place but I have gone to the San Angel Inn. I'm a big fan of Mexican food and I absolutely LOVED it. I also like the counter service stand they have right outside. We've gone there a couple of times and probably will the next time we're there. I'm trying to think of new places to dine at but there are so many, I don't know where to start!!

disney honeymooners
12-10-2008, 02:04 PM
We do the AK EMH every time we stay on site and it is worth it. I will def try the ice when we go. Last time i went we ate at the Sci Fi dine in theater at MGM (sorry DHS) it was good and i have eaten at the Brown Derby but i think everyone has eaten there we are doing it when we go this time since its our honeymoon and people have already paid for the fantasmic dinner package on our disney honeymoon registry. Have you ever seen illuminations is it worth seeing? I have seen the fireworks at MK and Fantasmic @ MGM but the last few times we have went we haven't stayed at epcot late enough to see the fireworks.

jenny105
12-10-2008, 02:07 PM
I've eaten at the Sci-Fi diner. I like the atmosphere but I didn't love the food. I got a pasta and it was just loaded with cheese and garlic. I haven't gone back since. Have you ever eaten at the Prime Time Cafe? I love it there and the food is pretty good.

I've seen Illumnations a couple of times. It's ok. They light up all the countries (except Morocco for religious reasons) and there's lasers & fireworks and a big lit up globe that spins and opens and closes. I think it's a little outdated compared to the other shows but it's worth seeing if you never have before. After that, it's not really a must see like the others.

disney honeymooners
12-10-2008, 02:13 PM
I think i have eaten there is that the one where you are told if you don't finish your meal you can't have dessert? My brother thought they were seriuos when we went and he got really upset. I had i think a burger at the Dine in theater so its pretty hard to Mess up somthing that easy. I like ohana's (except for some of the dipping sauces they give you). We are eating at CRT this trip i have never done that i have heard mixed reviews about it but I mainly just wanted to eat in the castle and its our honeymoon so we are using ou dining plan table services to eat there (thank goodness for disney honeymoon registry!) if people wouldn't have paid on other dining experiences we wouldn't be able to do it.

jenny105
12-11-2008, 10:20 AM
Yes, Prime Time is when the servers act like your aunt/uncle/cousin and tell you to keep your elbows off the table and finish your vegetables. I love it there. I had the fried chicken meal and it's soooo good. Last time we went to WDW, it was closed! So I'm definitely planning on going there next time.

I've never been to Ohana's. I hear they give you a lot of food though. I was also thinking about going to the Liberty Tree Tavern. Have you ever been there?

disney honeymooners
12-11-2008, 10:28 AM
Ohanas does give you alot of food but it is really good. I have never been to Liberty Tree Tavern but i have seen pictures of peoples food from there on one of the boards here and it looks great. I told my DFi that the next time we go we have to eat there. Like any good Disneyholic i have already planned out our ADRs so that when march 26th gets here i can call and make them. :lmao:

I want to book the shore excursion in march but we have people paying on it for our honeymoon registry (my soon to be brother in law said he is gonna pay for it) but i am not sure how we pay for it with the registry if we book it early the information only says how to use it if you book it while on the ship and i am scared if we wait that long the excursion (the excursion has 2 times and only about 4-5 people pertime) we want on castaway cay will be booked.

jenny105
12-11-2008, 02:05 PM
Can you call them and explain the situation and maybe book it that way? What excursions are you looking into?

disney honeymooners
12-11-2008, 06:26 PM
There is only one it is the bottom fishing excursion on Castaway Cay they do it at 9am and 1pm and we want the 9am one so that we can relax at Serenity Bay the rest of the day. I am going to ask them whe i call to do our ADRs if i can do the excursion and pay with the gift card. In Nassau i think we are just going to the Straw Market and relax on the ship and use the pool i have never done that on any of the cruises i have been on. I think the next time we go on a Disney Cruise we will do the Atlantis Aqua Adventure it sounds really cool.

I've been to Nassau before and I'm not a huge fan. I was just planning to stay on the ship that day and take advantage of it being nearly empty and just relaxing. Unless there is a shore excursion that really appeals to me, that's the plan for now.

At Castaway Cay, I think we're going to do the 4 in 1 package. It's snorkeling, bike rental, feeding the stingrays, and innertube use for the whole day. I just want to hang out while I'm there!

12-12-2008, 10:32 AM
The only reason we are gonna go to the straw market is to get a tshirt and if i can find it a chram for my charm braclet. then we are gonna relax on the ship use the pool i have never had a day where we can just explore the ship i only get to go on short cruises i hope our next cruise is a week. i have done the snorkeling at CC it is fun but tiring i wanted to go to the adult beach b/c everytime i see the pictures of it no matter what time of year it looks deserted.

jenny105
12-12-2008, 11:27 AM
I've been on 5 and 7 night cruises so I've always had plenty of time to explore the ship. This will be my first 3 night and since we've done Nassau before, we figured we'd use that day to explore the ship, take pictures, and relax by the pool.

I've done snorkeling before and you're right, I was EXHAUSTED afterward. But it's so much fun! I was in the water for 2 hours and didn't even realize it!

disney honeymooners
12-12-2008, 02:09 PM
yeah i have been to Nassau on all of my other cruises and don't really want to get off the ship but i figured i would go to the straw market and a couple of shops. yeah you loose track of time when you are snorkeling and when you are on CC. What seating did yall ask for on the ship we are doing 2nd since that is what i did last time and it was nice to see the show and then go to dinner.

jenny105
12-12-2008, 04:28 PM
We picked the first dinner seating. I figured we'd eat early and save room for the buffets later on, especially on Pirate night ;) Too bad we didn't pick the same one, they probably would've put us near each other since we're around the same age!

disney honeymooners
12-12-2008, 06:31 PM
yeah it would have been nice to sit next to some one that wasn't a complete stranger. We are use to eating later so we picked the second one. We will probably bump into each other on the nassau day you never know.

jenny105
12-15-2008, 01:02 PM
Most likely we will. Especially if we both plan on hanging by the pool.
We're used to eating later too but I didn't want to miss out on any late buffets ;) And I'd rather eat and then see the show when I'm nice and full!

disney honeymooners
12-15-2008, 08:41 PM
well since its our honeymoon and a trip where we will do as much as we can we wont be missing the late buffets either even if we are full we will find a way to eat something. We may have to run 10 miles when we get back but we will be eating the buffets.

jenny105
12-16-2008, 10:01 AM
lol When we cruised on RCCL, we had the late dinner. We went to the gourmet buffet afterward one night and got food because everything looked SO good. But we couldn't eat it. We tried. It just wasn't happening.

disney honeymooners
12-16-2008, 04:02 PM
we have had the late dinner on ever cruise i have ever been on and have always found a way to eat either the late buffets or room service. Also since we are on the dining plan while at the world and we have the registry so i know we will be eating A LOT OF FOOD! So of course i have subbed to a few of the food boards on here they are great. :worship: I found out that if we wear the honeymooners pin with cinderella and Prince charming on it you get free dessert which i think is nice of them. Now i am having to decide on which long houses @ the Poly to request I would love Hawaii but it is only concierge( wish we could afford that  )

jenny105
12-16-2008, 04:09 PM
That's awesome! I love dessert :) When we went in January for my boyfriend's birthday, they gave him a free funnel cake cause they saw his pin. That's considered a dessert right? :rotfl: I work in a travel agency and I have access to the birnbaum guidebooks for Disney. It's been slow so I've been reading up on the cruise line and there's even a dining guide. My mouth is watering just reading about Ohana's!

Is there a big difference with the longhouses?

disney honeymooners
12-16-2008, 04:22 PM
The views and a couple are really close to the TTC so you can catch the buses to the other parks or the monorail to epcot instead of taking the one from the poly to TTC and transfering and the views are diff. I would love to be in Tahiti or Tolekaeu (i think thats how you spell it) you can have a MK view and see the fireworks and there is a beach in front of Tahiti that most people don't know about that you can see the water parade and the fireworks from. and the rooms are a little bit bigger in the newer longhouses and they have double sinks. (thank you to Tikiman 2001's website) :worship:

jenny105
12-18-2008, 04:18 PM
I've heard about the water parade but I've never seen it. Have you?
Oh and since we were talking about Illuminations a few posts back, they're making updates to it for the Celebration promo next year. So now I'm going to have to see it again! :)

disney honeymooners
12-18-2008, 09:04 PM
I haven't seen the water parade we have only stayed in one other resort where you could watch it (GF) and we didn't watch it. I have seen pictures of it and it looks good. We may stay and see illuminations but i think the day we go to epcot we are going to Planet Hollywood for dinner. I'm just glad we are getting new luggage from my mom for Christmas man did i need it (i over pack just a little bit):rotfl2: which means we will probably be paying an extra bag fee when we fly into orlando unless the smallest piece is small enough to be considered as a carry on.:confused3

jenny105
12-19-2008, 10:51 AM
I hope someone got me luggage for Christmas! I always borrow my sister's suitcase and I think it's starting to get on her nerves lol. All the stuff I own is weekend or overnight type of luggage! And I overpack too. Especially when I go on cruises :rolleyes1

You should check out the T-Rex cafe when you go! We went on our last trip and it was yummy!!

disney honeymooners
12-19-2008, 04:46 PM
I purposely asked for luggage this christmas b/c the set i have is only 3 pieces and the biggest one is not big enough for all of my stuff. I may over pack but we have never run out of clothes on any trips and if any of us get sick or are in pain i have what my DFi calls a small medicine cabinet in my luggage. :rolleyes1
I even asked the lady with DCL when we made our reservations if they were sending us more than 2 luggage tags for the magical express since i have never done the magical express. Usually when we fly in we rent a car but i thought since we are doing the land and sea it would be nice to not have to worry about picking up our luggage.I would like to try the TRex place but we are on the dinning plan and i dont think it is on there.

jenny105
12-20-2008, 09:14 AM
Magical Express is great! I've used it twice and haven't had a problem with it. They show a cute little video on the bus, it's all the characters getting ready to "vacation" in WDW. I love it! The only gripe I've had with it is that they pick you up super early to take you back to the airport. For an 8pm flight, they picked us up at 4. We spent a lot of time sitting around the airport. But since you won't be taking it back, you don't have to worry about that.

I forgot TRex wasn't on the DDP. Maybe they'll add it by next year? Wishful thinking!!

disney honeymooners
12-20-2008, 05:01 PM
i have seen the video on the DCL bus that will take us from the resort to Port Canaveral and it is all the characters getting ready for the cruise and i have found out from people that have been on the land and sea that the bus should pick us up at 11:30(well i know that is the time they pick up the people from the Poly but i assume it is the same from all the hotels) I know we aren't booking an early flight back i think we are gonna try and get a 4pm flight back home so we can eat breakfast on the ship b/c if you have a flight after 2pm you don't have to get off the ship til 9:30 instead of 7:30 or 8am. I'm glad we don't have to carry our luggage around the resort to get to the room they will put it in the rooms that will be nice (since i know ours will be heavy :rolleyes1 )

jenny105
12-22-2008, 01:13 PM
I'm not sure if I'm driving or flying yet. We were also thinking about spending another couple of days at Pop Century after the cruise. I can get free 2 day hopper tickets so all we'd have to pay for is the hotel and it's super cheap. The only thing that has been finalized is the land & sea package itself! I still have more planning to do!

disney honeymooners
12-22-2008, 05:21 PM
i wish we could come back and spend extra days at the world after the cruise but my DFi works for the railroad and he goes back on call the monday after we get back so we can't. My parents are paying for us to fly airtran of course i could get buddy passes from my uncle since he works for Delta and he never uses them but i know with our luck we would get bumped and never get down there. Plus with airtran if you arrive early you can pay like $50 extra if you want to fly 1st class and i am thinking of doing that since this will be my DFi first time flying i think it would be nice for him and for me :yay: I have made the drive too many times to count and its not that bad from here in GA only about 6.5 to 8 hours at the longest.

jenny105
12-23-2008, 09:58 AM
You're lucky with that drive! The drive for me is 16-17 hours. And that's without stopping. Last time we did it, we stopped in Savannah for the night and then continued on the next day. We did it once where we drove straight through to Orlando and by the time we got there, we were so tired we didn't want to do anything. It's much better to have a stopover!

It's his first time flying? Is he nervous? I'm not a big fan of flying but it's much more convenient!

disney honeymooners
12-23-2008, 07:15 PM
Savannah is nice I may live in georgia but i have only been there once. Yeah the drive isn't that bad i generally sleep most of the way or we bring a portable DVD player and i watch a movie. He is a little bit nervous but he is also looking forward to not having to drive down or drive while we are at disney. I on the other hand love to fly and prefer it to driving. My mom said he could have one of her xanex before we fly out if he thinks it will bother him (once he takes one of those he wouldn't care what happened) but i don't think he will be that worried about it.

jenny105
12-24-2008, 09:51 AM
How long is the flight for you guys? It must be short. From NJ it's only 2 1/2 hours. I have to force myself to not think unhappy thoughts when I fly. It's like Peter Pan for me I guess. Think happy thoughts. :) It's not my favorite thing in the world to fly but I'm ok once we're in the air.

Happy Holidays!

12-24-2008, 10:52 PM
its a hour long the longest flight i have been on is to Jamacia which was almost 3 hours i think but we got to watch some i love lucy episodes. Well when we fly i am going to be the one sitting by the window. i enjoy flying but i am always reading the SKY mall magazine the stuff they sell in there is amazing and i wonder if anyone has bought anything from it.:confused3
Merry Christmas to Y'all too!! We are leaving sunday for Nashville to visit my aunt and uncle we call them the beverly hillbillies of our family :rotfl: so everyone loves to visit them. We wanted to go to a Titans game while we were there but they are sold out for 3 years

jenny105
12-26-2008, 11:00 AM
Sold out for 3 years? That's insane but I'm not surprised. I think the Jets & Giants have huge waiting lists for season tickets. It's impossible to get them unless they're passed down to you from someone in your family.

Hope you had a great Christmas! I did but I'm exhausted today.

disney honeymooners
12-26-2008, 11:50 AM
Yeah 3 years since they have a i think 13-2 season and up until their game with the jets they were undefeated and they haven't done this good except for their first season when they went to the Super Bowl. I like the titains but i wish they would have lost their last game since i am a BIG STEELERS FAN!! my step dad in from Penn. so i have grown up watching the steelers but i like the jets mainly b/c of Farve now. The falcons tickets aren't in such a high demand this is the first year in a long time that they haven't SUCKED! so the ticket prices are going up. I had a great Christmas but i was exhausted and we had a pic fight at my dads so i came home looking like camron dias in "somthing about mary" :rotfl2: but it was fun my luggage is already half way packed but i have to do laundry 2morrow inorder to finish it :sad2:

My nephew is a Steeler fan. I don't know how he became one because my brother likes the Jets and my SIL likes the Cowboys. Go figure :confused3

I had a great Christmas too but it was very tiring! I was driving all over the state and I had to work today so I'm pretty beat. I'm looking forward to the weekend so I can just lounge around and relax!!

Oh and under 9 months to go now! :)

disney honeymooners
12-26-2008, 09:22 PM
it is because the Steelers Rule :cool1: Yeah less than nine months I can't wait i have been watching some videos on You Tube of the Cruise and of course the Horn i have that video saved in my favorites. Well it didn't really feel like christmas down here because it was 70 degrees and we were all wearing shorts:confused: i will like it when i don't have to drive all over the place on Christmas but that wont be for a while.

It was warm here for Christmas too, but "warm" for us in December is the upper 40s. Anything close to 50 during the winter is warm!

I've been watching the Disney cruise DVD and looking at people's trip reports on here. I love reading everyone else's stories and looking at their pictures. We also have a book here in the TA that's all about the cruise line so I've been reading that too! It's been slow....:rolleyes1

I just bought my 2009 Birnbaums guide to WDW although i already know all of the secrets it is a family thing my stepmom has all of the guides so since i am getting married i am starting my own "library" now i just need the 2009 Birnbaums DCL Guide. my family is got me some disney christmas decorations for my house next year: i got a wooden sculpture of mickey and an eeyore that looks like a deer with bells on. Did you have a good New Years? Mine was good but it was weird being an hour behind so everyone else in my family was calling me when it was midnight there but it was only eleven here.

I'll see if we have any extras in the stock room. I've been reading it here and there since it's been so sloooow. I'll let you know when I can get it out to you.

We played Rock Band on easy so it wasn't very hard! You could always be the singer if you can't play the instruments. The drums were the best but it was hard to get on them because my 10 yr old nephew was hogging them!!!

disney honeymooners
01-05-2009, 11:46 AM
Thank you so much! If i tried to sing i think everyone would leave the room i can't carry a tune in a bucket. My DFi on the other hand can sing and play the guitar he is very talented i am just good at makeing people laugh. I have been reading the WDW guide ever since i got it there are a few new additions since they have added and changed a few resteraunts. We are finishing up our passport paperwork and will hopefully have it finished before march.

jenny105
01-05-2009, 12:27 PM
That's one thing I need to do: get a passport! I don't think it takes very long to get them anymore so I should be safe if I wait a couple months. I just have to make sure I don't keep putting it off because it's something I definitely need.

I can't sing either! I can stay in tune but my voice is nothing to write home about! :) Though I did a mean cover of 'Whatcha Want' by the Beastie Boys. I had my sister in hysterics!

disney honeymooners
01-05-2009, 07:10 PM
i know that the cruise line has to have out passport number by i think the end of may i read that somewhere in the DCL paperwork. I am just doing it this early so that i have one less thing to worry about since i know the next few months are going to be crazy with planning the wedding. Travel Channel had the DCL featured on New Years Eve so i watched it it is cool that i can point out our room on the Wonder. :lmao: or maybe that is sad. I found a website where this lady had actually stayed in the same stateroom that we are staying in and i showed my DFi the pictures he didn't realize how large the rooms are.

jenny105
01-06-2009, 08:54 AM
I found a site that gave a review of our stateroom too. It's mid-ship, near the elevators, and in a very quiet area. Which deck are you on? We're on 7. I think I've seen the DCL special before. Was it with Samantha Brown? She seems to do everything related with Disney. I would love to have her job!!

I'll have to get on top of the passport thing!!

disney honeymooners
01-06-2009, 10:23 AM
we are on deck 7 also our statroom number is 7628. the special wasn't with samatha is was just one showing the cruise line and them also building the Magic. i have seen all of Samathas specials i would die to have her job!! My family keeps telling me that i need to go work for a TA or for Disney since i plan all of their trips to the world and book them. :rotfl: Then the travel channel had the criusing dos and don't special on and i had to watch it eventhough i know all the dos and donts.

jenny105
01-06-2009, 11:23 AM
I work in a TA. You could come work with me, the only thing you'd have to do is move to Jersey! ;) We're in 7567, right smack in the middle of the ship it seems! It's funny we ended up on the same deck.

I just found out Space Mountain is scheduled to be closed while we're down there. :( I had a feeling it would be so last time I was there we went on it 3 times!

01-09-2009, 04:16 PM
I would love to work dealing with disney all the time that would be great but my DFi has to stay with the RR for 35 Years for him to retire and with their benefits it is worth the time. That is cool that we are on the same deck and pretty close to each other yeah i was reading the allears webpage and saw it but i am use to big rides being closed when i go last time i went the pirates of the carib. was closed to add jack and barbosa so i was really mad and since my DFi hasn't been since he was 3 i really wanted him to be able to ride everything but i guess this means we will just have to go again after our honeymoon :thumbsup2

jenny105
01-12-2009, 10:26 AM
I'm keeping my fingers crossed it will be open again by the time we're there. It says 'late 2009' and I read somewhere that the time frame could mean late September/Early October. So maybe we'll luck out! If it is being worked on, I will definitely get on the TTA and check it out. Rare opporunity to see SM with the lights on!

Last time I went, Splash Mountain was closed. It looked SO WEIRD because there was no water coming down the hill and you could see people inside working on it!

disney honeymooners
01-12-2009, 10:56 AM
I have seen space mountain with the lights on it looked so wierd and i also saw splash mountain without water on it and it also looked wierd without water and without anyone riding it. I am just glad i can finally ride the pirates of the caribbean since i haven't ridden it since 2004 so it has been a while. My DFi thinks its funny that i have planned out what days we will go to which parks and how we are gonna do the rides he says that i have been so much that i know which order to do the rides at MK in so that you have the shortest wait time. Not that the wait time bothers me i have always had to stand in line for a while especially the Peter Pan ride i swear no matter when i go it always has a long line.

jenny105
01-12-2009, 11:08 AM
I've been on POTC since the refurb and it's awesome! Jack Sparrow looks SO lifelike. I swear I thought he was going to jump on our boat. Not that I would have minded ;) And I agree with you completely about Peter Pan. Why on earth is there always a 60 min wait for it? I don't understand!! The other dark ride lines don't get that long. So what's up??

disney honeymooners
01-12-2009, 03:02 PM
I have no clue why that ride has a long line all the time i mean it is cute but i would have thought that the "mountains" would have longer lines. Atleast one time we got a show while we were waiting to get on the ride and it was from a parent putting their child in one of the boats you know that the conveor belt continually moves well this lady i guess didn't get it she threw her daughter into the boat and stood there like she didn't know how to get in or if she wanted to finally she jumped in but the bar was already coming down so as the boat rounded the corner to start the ride you could see her feet sticking out the side of the boat. :rotfl: :rotfl: i told my stepmom that it was a true kodak moment and i whish that i had taken a picture of it. Only on trips with my family does crazy stuff happen.

jenny105
01-12-2009, 04:21 PM
:rotfl: I guess some people just don't get it. I don't know why it has such a long line. I guess the loading takes longer but it really shouldn't because it moves non-stop on the conveyer. The haunted mansion has the same type of loading situation and that rarely ever has a long line. And that even has the stretching room before you board! I never go on Peter Pan unless I get a fastpass because it just is not worth an hour wait!!

disney honeymooners
01-12-2009, 04:48 PM
yeah i always either fast pass it or ride it during EMH which even then it still has a pretty long line. Yeah the haunted mansion never really has a long line and i like that ride better than peter pan. I hope while they are refurbing SM they fix the cars yet again my family had a crazy thing happen we were riding it we finished and when they told us to stand up and exit the ride my stepmom bearly stood up and sat back down they said "miss you have to get off the ride please" she said you don't understand I CAN'T!! sure enough her fanny pack had been slightly unzipped and while we were riding the ride it zipped her to the SEAT!! :lmao: they had to take the car into the bay where they work on them to get her out yet again a kodak moment and i didn't have a camera.

jenny105
01-13-2009, 11:01 AM
Well, I know if anything crazy like that ever happens while I'm in line for a ride, it'll be you and your family! :rotfl: It seems like it only happens to you guys! I'll keep an eye out for any mishaps from you and your future hubby. ;)

01-13-2009, 01:01 PM
well it seems that it only happens when we go with my stepmom and dad on vacation the bad luck for problems follows them. i found a board on here that said that the gangway leading from the ship to the terminal fell into the water in november around thanksgiving they said it was b/c many of the mooring lines attaching the ship to the dock snapped so the gangway for people and luggage fell into the water and it was while they were boarding people but luckily no one was on it They are still fixing it b/c i think it pulled the cables out of the concrete at the terminal. I have never been on a ship where the wind was blowing that bad.

They have this HUGE dessert, its these ridiculously big pieces of brownie, leaning against each other so it's shaped like a volcano. I don't like chocolate that much but it really sounds good i told my DFi about it and he said we may have to stop in and have one even if it is togo (if they have it) and we have to take it back to the room and eat it later that night. I am so gonna be sick when we get back but i usually am whenever we go to disney no matter how much i try to restrain myself from overeating it never works:rotfl2: but its a vacation and its my honeymoon so i am allowed to overeat. I am gonna be so ready for the trip by the time it gets here trying to get all of our info together, planning the wedding, trying to find a house, and getting all the clothes that we need for the trip. :rolleyes2 I am gonna need the trip along with a big DRINK!!!!

we will def. need to meet on the pool deck and have a drink, unfortunatly i can't handle margaritas (atleast my body doesn't like tequila) i had one at epcot and i was in pain the rest of the day i guess my body prefers vodka and rum so i will see if they can make me a goombay smash:worship: ( coconut rum, dark rum, clear rum, and pineapple juice) it is a drink my aunt found while they were in the bahamas on their boat and i have loved it ever since but it is never on any drink menu i always have to ask them to make it special. i found the menu for the TRex reseraunt and i saw the dessert and we will most def stop by there and get one.

That drink sounds good to me! Anything involving pineapple juice is my friend! So I guess tequila shots are out for you? :rotfl: Have you ever had a washington apple shot?? So yummy!

01-17-2009, 10:20 AM
Yeah they are out for me but you can do the tequila shots and i will do vodka shots :cool1: nope i have never had one of those may have to try one on the trip. yeah goombay is great but you dont realize how much liquor you are drinking until you try to stand up quite a few of my friends fell on there behinds after having one too many. :rotfl2:

They may not know how to make it (a lot of bartenders have no idea what it is) so just for reference: Crown Royal, Apple Pucker, and a splash of cranberry. Really good!!

01-17-2009, 05:51 PM
no one ever knows how to make my drink either they look at me funny when i ask for a Goobay Smash so i always have to tell them how to make it however i am use to making it in a large amount so i am use to using 1 cup each of clear and coconut rum and 1/2 cup of dark rum and a large can of pineapple juice (all the girls in my family love it so we always make it in a big batch)

jenny105
01-19-2009, 08:56 AM
Can you make a big batch and bring it on the boat somehow? Me, you, and our boys could all meet up for a drink! :) It's going to be funny if you go up to a bartender and ask for that and then like, 5 minutes later I go up and ask for it. They're going to think it's some kind of trick or test.

disney honeymooners
01-19-2009, 09:09 PM
Yeah they will think so we have a "secret cruiser" like stores have secret shoppers. :rotfl: :rotfl: I would love to make a big batch but i think they would have a problem with that much liquid in my bag :rotfl2: we always make it in a giant bubba keg with a tap on the side(they sell them at walmart or as we call it the "Dallas Mall" man we r redneck :rotfl2: ) and we have a great time drinking an d playing a dice game we found on the internet called farkel it is great well it is great after a couple of drinks. :thumbsup2

Have you read on the boards that you can bring your own drinks on board as long as it's a rolling cooler and can fit through the security machine on the belt? The only thing that check is that there is no ice in it. I think we may try to bring a couple bottles of wine or something on board with us. I know people haven't had a problem with it but knowing my luck, I will! :rotfl:

01-20-2009, 02:44 PM
Well since we are flying i don't think that we will bring any drinks. Plus i know that we will already be paying for an extra bag so i think i will just have to hope that i get a bartender that has no problem making the drink.

We're either going to stay on the boat in Nassau or book the Aquaventure excursion. I've been to Nassau before but have never seen Atlantis and the waterpark looks awesome!! But its on the pricey side so we're not sure yet...

Hello!! My DH and I are also going on this cruise, it is for our 5th Wedding Anniversary! I will be spending a week at (Gasp!) Universal first for my work conference, going on the cruise, and then joining DH's family at Saratoga Springs for a week of free dining (we booked a bounceback last year). This will be our first cruise, and I'm super excited! DH thinks that he will be bored, but I'm not worried about that at all since it seems like there is so much to do!

In Nassau, I don't think we will get off the ship as I have heard some not so good reviews from people that have gotten off there. We might possibly go to Atlantis, but it seems very expensive, and I would really like to relax between my work conference (though i'm sure there will be some time for fun at Universal!) and the week long vacation at Disney. I LOVE Disney, but DH's family goes practically commando style, and it does get tiring after a few days...

Anyways, I thought I would just chime in since we will be joining you on the cruise!! Only 245 days left!

jenny105
01-21-2009, 10:09 AM
Welcome aboard! :)

Is this your first cruise ever or first cruise with DCL? Your DH will NOT be bored. I've never sailed with DCL but I can tell you from being on other cruises, there is never a time where there isn't something going on. It is what you make of it!

I've been to Nassau once before and got off the ship to go to Senor Frog's. I did not feel comfortable walking from the ship to the restaurant. People kept approaching us and somebody even tried to sell us cocaine. Unless I can go with a large group, I'm staying on that ship!

I'm super excited! :goodvibes

It is our first Cruise ever!! For DH, this is one of his very few vacations anywhere besides Disneyworld, although it is still a Disney Cruise and we are going there after...i'm trying to get him to branch out!! I know that he won't be bored, but try telling him that!! He just isn't used to do anything different.

That's pretty much the same thing i've heard about Nassau. If I find a great shore excursion I might do it, but I don't think we will venture off on our own. I'll just spend the day at the pool with some drinks and exploring the boat!! :goodvibes

Welcome! I have been on this cruise once before and I was 18 when we went and I did not get bored so if an 18 yearold didn't get bored i don't think your DH will either. I am doing the 7night land and sea with my DFi for our honeymoon and my DFi is excited to go on the cruise b/c it will be his first cruise. I have been on 3 cruises and everone has stopped in Nassau and evertime i have gotten off the ship and seen Atlantis so we are staying on the ship when we dock in nassau this time. I don't feel like getting offered everuthing under the sun on my vacation. You will enjoy the cruise the service is typical Disney they will do anything you need them to and the Private island makes the whole trip worth it.

jenny105
01-21-2009, 02:11 PM
I'm debating on going to Atlantis or staying on the boat, enjoying the pool and a frozen drink. :drinking1 I absolutely cannot wait to go to Castaway Cay. I think we're going to do the Extreme Getaway Package so we can get a sample of everything the island has to offer.

Mkasch - Are you first or second seating for dinner?

disney honeymooners
01-21-2009, 02:38 PM
Atlantis is fun but have extra money with you the food is expensive we are doing the fishing excursion on castaway cay and then going to serenity bay for the rest of the day it always looks empty even during the summer so it will be like having your own beach and they have a place where they have the food that they have on the family beach so that you can eat lunch there instead of riding the tram back to the family beach.

jenny105
01-21-2009, 03:25 PM
If we do the Disney excursion to Atlantis, I'm pretty sure lunch is included. I've heard Atlantis charges a LOT for food and they don't take cash. What's that all about??

m_kasch
01-21-2009, 03:38 PM
Yes, I also read that lunch is included on the Disney excursion, and that the food is super expensive there -- someone said on another thread here that they paid $30 for 3 hotdogs and 3 gatorades. :scared1: That's nuts! I am excited that you can bring your own liquor on Disney cruises -- I'll be in Orlando the whole week before my cruise, so I should be able to scout out a good liquor store to get some for fun drinks!

Jenny -- we have the 2nd seating. I heard that it is less rushed, plus we normally eat a little later anyway.

jenny105
01-21-2009, 03:59 PM
Ah man, I have the first seating. I looked at your profile and noticed we're the same age, so I was hoping we'd be grouped at the same table! But you're both at second seating so maybe you guys will sit together! :)

I'm going to try to bring my own liquor too. I was thinking maybe sangria or wine. Yum!

disney honeymooners
01-21-2009, 05:06 PM
Yeah the food is super expensive we did the beach excursion to Atlantis on another cruise and food was included and it was good that it was b/c it would have costed us an arm and a leg to eat. However if you have never been there it is worth going to see once the ruins are cool. Yeah maybe we will sit together we also booked the second seating since the last disney cruise we went on we were in the second seating and it seemed like there were more adults in that one and less children. I wish i could bring the stuff to make the drinks cuz i have a feeling the bartender may look at me like i have 2 heads if i ask for a Goombay Smash. :lmao:

Well, I went to apply for my passport yesterday!! Yea, I am excited to get one. Now, if I ever feel the urge to just leave the country or something...I can!! LOL!!

I started looking at shore excursions again (I love to plan!!), and the sealion experience looks pretty cool. They are just so cute!! I have done the Dolphin thing before in Mexico, which was really cool, so I'd like to try something new. Do either of you know if it is better to book the shore excursions in Nassau through Disney, or through the tour place directly? It seems to be a little cheaper to go right through the tour company, plus, you can make reservations ahead of time. I'm still not sure if we will get off the boat in Nassau or not, but a little planning never killed anyone!!

I was also reading through some of the old navigators yesterday, and the drinks of the day look really good!! It made me want myself a cocktail!! :rotfl: That goombay whatever drink that you guys were talking about before sounds really good (is that the right name? I am too lazy to look back right now...). I think I will have to try it next weekend with my DMIL at the Super Bowl Party!!

disney honeymooners
01-23-2009, 10:52 AM
Yes it is called Goombay and it is GREAT!! There is a place here in Ga that has it on their drink menu but it is not good they added orange juice and used captain morgans spiced rum and banana rum which makes it taste really bad the best way to make it is one shot each of clear rum and malibu cocnut rum and half a shot of dark rum i think you can add more if you like but i make mine a little bit less strong since it has 3 rums in it and of course pineapple juice. The only problem i have found talking to my friends and family that have gone on other cruises they said the only draw back to booking directly through the excursion company is that they had to find their own transportation to the excursion but that was not with disney so i am not sure if they are the same.

You can call me Jen. I actually prefer that to anything else but it was taken on here! And I get the 'Jenny' thing all the time. My old manager used to do it and it drove me insane!! :crazy2:

I have to get my passport!! Do we have to have it by a certain date? I know when we pre-register or pre-checkin or whatever, Disney asks for a passport number. I have to stop procrastinating.

I looked into the sea lion excursion too! That'd be super cute!!! We haven't decided what we're doing that day either but I'm looking into our options...

Okay well, my name is Mary. So, I get ALL of the typical, mary mary quite contrary, mary had a little lamb, "mary" christmas, blah, blah, blah. Quite the loverly name!! And the best part is, my Grandma's name was Mary, except that everyone called her by her middle name, Louise, and my mom (who didn't get along with my grandma so much) had no idea when she named me Mary that it was my grandma's name...so my grandma always thought that I was named after her even though I wasn't!!

For the passports, it says on the Disney site that they would like to have it at least 75 days prior to departure. I just got mine a little early because I signed up for clear (the airport security line), and I need it to enroll because my last name doesn't match my birth certificate and it is more complicated to get it with bc & marriage license. But i'm super excited to get clear, because every time I fly home from Orlando the security lines are LOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG.

Tonight at dinner, my DH accused me of over-planning. The nerve!! I asked him if he would be interested in going to the sea lion experience, and he said he would think about it and let me know closer to the date. But he did think they were cute, so that is a good sign!!

You can never OVER PLAN!! especially when disney is involved. ;) my DFi calls me his disney tour guide and he said that where ever i go he will follow. :rotfl2: I already have our WDW ADRs planned out for March when i can call and make them. Yeah i read that about the passport number on the website we are getting ours in Feb. What deck are yall on me and Jen are both on deck 7? This will be me first cruise with a veranda! :cool1: :cool1:

01-25-2009, 09:06 PM
Well, I (being the smart one) know that you can never over plan...and whenever he says anything about it, I say well what would you do if we didn't have any reservations??? And then he stops for a bit, LOL!!

Did you know that you can't make your dining reservations until 90 days now? So, if you are going in September, it would be June. I'm not sure how I feel about it...on one hand, I like that we don't have to decide so soon where to eat...on the other, I love to plan, and this really just delays the whole thing!! :rotfl:

I'm not sure what deck we are on yet, I just booked a GTY 12 with the hopes that maybe we will get upgraded. If not, I will be happy with the room that we get or I will try to upgrade at the port. We are planning to get there pretty early since I will be in Orlando the whole week before. We'll see!!

disney honeymooners
01-26-2009, 12:34 AM
Well that sucks i was hoping that i could make them in march which is 180 day sbut i guess since it is the same for anyone who is going to disney when we are that they can't make their reservations until june either which doesn't change the chance of us getting to eat where we want to eat. Well me and my DFi wont be at the port until i think 12 or 12:30 it depends on when the bus picks us up from the Poly that thursday since we are doing the land and sea this will be my first time doing the cruise and park in the same week and not having to worry about a car or getting gas. :cool1: :cool1: I can't wait til the Super Bowl GO STEELERS!!!!

01-26-2009, 09:12 AM
Hi girls! I've been MIA. It was my DBf's birthday on Thursday so I took him out to dinner on Friday night at Medieval Times and Saturday we went to Atlantic City. Sundy was a much needed recovery day. I was exhausted. I'm still tired today. :surfweb:

I think they changed the ADR policy recently. I looked it up online because I was going to make them for my clients but I can't yet! So we have to wait til what, June? I have to check the calculator on the info site.

Is parking still $15 a night at the port? We're most likely driving down to Orlando so we'll have a car on us at all times. Which is good considering I've heard the lines for the buses at POR can get out of control sometimes! I want to get to the port nice and early so we can get on the ship right away! :)

Do guarenteed rooms get upgraded a lot? Can you still get upgraded even if you already have an assigned cabin? Disney is partners with AAA so I want to throw in that I work for them at check in and see what happens :rolleyes1

i was wondering where you went i began to miss my buddy :) Good i will have to put that on my calendar i will be calling as soon as it gets here since most of ours are at locations that i know book very early but i am trying to figure out what night fantasmic will show when we are there so far it looks like they have it showing the last 2 sundays of every month if they keep doing that i will be ok. i know that when we stayed at POFQ the lines werent that long but that is b/c it is a smaller resort than POR.
i have read on the poly sites that we all just meet in the lobby at 11 or 11:30 and we leave at 12 and they get us to the port when you are first allowed to board and since we wont have to check in i thinkwe can just go ahead and board which will be nice last time we had to stand in line for a while to get the paperwork done. :cool1:

They aren't showing Fantasmic every night anymore? I'll have to take that in consideration when I plan out what parks we're going to on what days. My DBf is like your DFi; he lets me plan and goes along with whatever!

I have already pretty much planned what days we are going to what parks it will be more concrete when we see what day they are gonna have MNSSHP. My DFi says just tell me where to go when we get there and i will follow. :rotfl2: The earliest you can get on is either 12 or 12:30 and for us we don't have to wait to checkin since we will already have our stateroom keys lets just hope that my clumsy self doesn't loose the key between here and the ship :rotfl2:

I'll know what parks we're going to on what days once they release the schedules for September. We're planning on going to MNSSHP too! It's the only party I haven't been to yet and I hear it's the best. It'll be good to be all checked in and not have to wait in the lines at the port. I'm planning on getting there around 11:30. Don't they give out boarding passes and the earlier you get there, the better boarding pass you get? I want to be one of the first people on the ship! :rotfl2:

LOL, here I am!! Have either of you ever been to Universal? I haven't, but my conference for work is there September 21-24 (i'll be leaving early on the 24th to get to the port) at Portifino Bay. My DH's family is shocked and disgusted (not really, they just say that) that I am going to Universal. I hear the hotel is nice, and very expensive, so i'm glad it's covered by work!!

Are you guys going to the MNSSHP? My younger DS is coming with me I think to partake in the free room at Portifino Bay, and I would like to take her to one if I have a free night. She's only been to the World once!! For Fantasmic, they are trying this new thing where they only show it on I think Sunday and Thursday (could be wrong on the days). I have heard that it is super busy (wasn't it usually anyways??) though, so maybe it won't last.

I have been thinking about upgrading our stateroom, but we have a pretty good deal, it was only around $680 for the GTY 12 total...so I have a hard time spending tons extra since I had to convince DH it was such a good deal too begin with!! I know I should just be patient and see if the upgrade faries grace us, and, if not, I can just upgrade later or at the port...I was looking at the "seceret" navigator verandahs on deck 7 (the ones with almost a full balcony and not the giant open porthole), but it is $750 more!! It is just so hard to be patient!! :rotfl:

I've been to Universal! I just went there in November actually. I have lots of pictures if you wanna see. I love it! It's not as wonderful as Disney (what is??) but it's a lot of fun. IOA is one of my favorite parks. I'm addicted to the Spiderman ride! And Portofino Bay is GORGEOUS! It's the nicest of the 3 onsite hotels. Lucky you!!!

I cannot wait until they release the MNSSHP dates. I'm dying to go! So yes, we will definitely be there. :)

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for an upgrade; for both of us!

I have been to Universal quite a few times and i have stayed at Portifino Bay it is nice you will like it i wanted to stay at hard rock when we went i liked their pool better and if you go to the parks all you have to do is show your room key and they let you go to the front of the line.:cool1: :cool1:
Which was great especially for spiderman and the dueling dragons they usually have the longest lines b/c they are the best well the hulk is good too but i have to agree with Jen IOA is a great park. But i am a disneyholic and will always be one. :rotfl2:
Me and Greg will be there for MNSSHP I love being in MK at night it is nicer and riding the HM at night is just too cool (i sound dorky when i say that but oh well) :cool1: Jen they do give out boarding passes but i think they may be for people that are not coming from the resorts but i am unsure i may have to ask one of the guys on here who did the land and sea around sept. last year :confused3

I think the Hulk gave me a concussion when I was there. I do not like that ride. But if you've never been on it, it's worth going on once.

I've seen 543085 pictures of the boarding passes but I think you're right, they aren't for the land & sea. We should get first dibs!!

we should get the ones that have a #1 on them since we will prob. board first b/c everyone else has to wait and check in. :rotfl: The hulk is ok if you sit in the 7th row but i rode it in the 2nd row also and i think i had whiplash it nearly killed me i felt sorry for the grandmothers in the front row. Dueling dragons is more my fav after spiderman. the dragons are very smooth i have ridden in the first row, the middle rows and the last row and haven't had a bad ride.

Good morning ladies!! I will make sure to ride the Hulk, any ride that give me potential concussions and whiplash is a must do on my list!! :rotfl:

I will have a rental car for the week of my conference, so i'm just planning on driving to the port, returning it, and taking the shuttle. Do you know if Saratoga Springs will hold my luggage for me while i'm on the cruise? I don't know if I want to take all of my stuff with me since I will be there so long. I thought maybe I would drop it off at SS if they will keep it.

I am excited about trying universal, I do like roller coasters (unlike DH and his family), so it will be cool to have more of those to go on. But, I am a Disney Girl at heart!! :goodvibes

jenny105
01-29-2009, 10:45 AM
Rip, Ride, and Rock It! will be open by the time you get to Universal. That's the new coaster they're building at US. It looks ridiculous! I can't wait to go on it. And I'm waiting (very impatiently) for Harry Potter to open. pixiedust:

Dueling Dragons is definitely a great ride!! They moved the line though and it seems like you have to walk 2 miles to get to it!! Other great rides are: Spiderman, Jurassic Park, Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls, MIB: Alien Attack, and the Simpsons Ride. And if you like Christopher Walken, make sure you go on Disaster! It's freakin hilarious!

I would think SS would have no problem holding your luggage sicne you're a guest there. We're driving to the port too so maybe we'll see ya on the road! :wave2:

I usually go right to the back of MK first and work my way around from there. I don't have any set plan...just whatever rides I want to go on at that moment! :) If it's a long line, I'll fastpass or comeback later. I love going to the parties because there are usually no lines for anything!!

Thats how it was for erider before they started EMH you could by a wrist band and stay in the park til 1am and they only had about 1,000 bands or less so we rode SM 3 times in a row and HM twice and SplM 4 times in a row that was great and it was also great that we were staying on site so we didn't have to wait that long to get into warm dry clothes. The longest i have waited in line was about 45 min and that was for the Dueling Dragons at IOA.

jenny105
01-31-2009, 07:58 AM
I always had Express pass when I went to Universal because I was lucky enough to stay on site both times. :thumbsup2 It's WONDERFUL. I don't think I've ever had to wait in a really long line at WDW. We usually go during the off season so it's never too bad. We have a Six Flags nearby however and their lines are RIDICULOUS!!! :sad2:

disney honeymooners
01-31-2009, 09:37 AM
The only time i had to wait in line at IOA was when we didn't stay onsite when we did stay onsite we rode dueling dragons 4 times in a row the front rom on each and the last row on each. The only long line at disney as i have said is peter pan and that would have to be the longest i have ever waited in line at the world.
We almost never go to six flags over Ga the lines are crazy, the food sucks, and it is really trashy. After the service you get at disney and the quiality of the food and how clean the park is no other park other than universal can even compare.

jenny105
01-31-2009, 10:12 AM
Exactly! My cousin's always want to go to Six Flags but I'm too spoiled by WDW. I refuse to pay the money to go into that park and get on 2 or 3 rides because the line is so long, plus pay ridiculous money for parking and food. No thanks! The only time I go is when it's my nephew's birthday because he's only 10 and I can't tell him no!

I usually try to Fastpass Peter Pan! I don't understand why that line is always so long!! Even when the park's not crowded!! :confused3

m_kasch
01-31-2009, 09:08 PM
The lines at six flags are crazy long!! My DSis & I went there this year, and bought the flash pass thing, which actually works pretty well, but it was about $40 for the two of us! Fast pass is so much better! And I can't wait to try that front of the line pass at Universal...sounds fun!!

I absolutely love Harry Potter!! When I was at the World in January I just finished re-reading the 7th book, I read it so fast the first time because I didn't want the end to be spoiled. I was also peeved when they pushed back the opening of the half blood prince, except that now it opens the day before my birthday so it's like a super good present!! I just saw a new preview for it at New In Town last night, it looks so good!! Except for the sad ending that I know is coming...

You just can't beat the service of the world they are the best and it extends to the cruise line. My family loves Harry Potter The movies have made my 4 year old DB want to learn how to read so that he can read the books. He still hasn't gotten that Hogwarts and their world isn't real he wants one of the wands that they sale in the magazines but he thinks that he can actually use it.
He is mad that i am getting to go to the world he is dying to go and see all the characters from all of his movies but i told my mom to wait til he is 5 or 6 to take him b/c my other brother went when he was 4 and ha can't remember annything and we had to rent a stroller half way throught the day at MK but my DM said that when they go i have to come b/c i am their disney tour guide

Lainey, are you so excited about the Steelers winning the super bowl? I am so bummed!! Not that I have anything against the Steelers...or anything really for the Cardinals (I am from Chicago, so I am a Bears girl), but if the score could have just held on for 35 more seconds!! I had some game going from work, and if the steelers had a score ending in 0 and the cardinals in 3 (when the cardinals were winning 23-20) I would have won $200 from the game!! Or I also had Steelers with 7 and Cardinals with 0, so the cardinals getting a touchdown and the extra point would have also worked...but alas, there is no love for me in AZ. Bummer!! LOL, but I'm sure you are excited that your team won!! Now, if only my team could do that someday.....

I keep hoping that someone will post a new 3 day navigator, there haven't been any too recently. I am so excited that the cruise is getting closer -- though still far away!!

jenny105
02-02-2009, 08:45 AM
I'm bummed the Cardinals couldn't pull it off. Sorry Lainey! I have nothing against the Steelers but they won a couple years ago so I was rooting for the underdogs. Plus, I think Kurt Warner is :faint: But I'm sure you're happy! My nephew, the big Steelers fan, hardly paid attention to the game. I though he'd be glued to the tv but he was playing Stratego!

I think I'm going to start another ticker for the HBP. I'm so excited for that movie to come out!! Did anyone see the trailer last night for the new Jack Black and Michael Cera movie? :rotfl: I love the both of them!

We're almost at the 7 month mark ladies!! :hyper:

THE STEELERS RULE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My house was so loud we had our whole family over and none of us have finger nails anymore we chewed them all off in the last minutes of the game. :rotfl2: I am a huge steelers fan but i like Kurt Warner he is a really nice guy but i will first and foremost a Steelers Fan.
That sucks about losing the money but man it was a good game i was so shocked when a defensive lineman ran and interception all the way to the opposite endzone 100 yards he of course colapsed promptly after making the run :rotfl2:
Yeah jen you need to make a ticker for the HP movie i want to start one for our ADRS but i wasn't sure if i can fit 3 of them on my signature

02-02-2009, 11:41 AM
What about those text tickers I've seen on the boards? Where do you find those? I can fit two of those on mine.

jenny105
02-02-2009, 02:28 PM

02-04-2009, 09:21 AM
Why? That movie isn't even that old! That's weird.

I was talking about Disney Dining with one of my co-workers. Has anybody been to the Hoopy Doo Review? He told me it's awesome.

m_kasch
02-04-2009, 09:41 AM
I haven't been to any of the dinner shows because DH can't sit still that long, LOL! I did tell him that we are for sure going to see the shows on the Wonder, and he thinks it might kill him or something. He refuses to see the Nemo show at AK ever again because he says that he will have to bring a sleeping bag and rations along (I think that may be his subtle way of telling me he thinks it's too long... :confused3 )

So, your harry potter ticker can also double as my "halfway to 54" ticker!! LOL, that's what I say every year now, great so i'm halfway to X. When I turned 25 and was halfway to 50, that was really depressing!! HAHA!! I can't wait for the movie to come out though, so exciting!!

jenny105
02-04-2009, 10:36 AM
I said the same thing when I turned 25, LOL!

The only thing that drove me a little crazy in the Nemo show was before it started. When Nemo is swimming around in the bubbles and the kids just scream 'THERE HE IS!' over and over again. It was cute the first couple of times but 20 minutes of that...ugh. I can't wait to see the shows on the ship! How's the new Toy Story one supposed to be? I was happy it replaced the Hercules show because I've never seen that movie! Only know the plot and characters from playing Kingdom Hearts...

disney honeymooners
02-04-2009, 12:23 PM
I had seen the Hercules show when i went on the cruise the last time and i liked it alot i thought it was funny the toy story show is set up alot like the movie and there are mixed reviews some people say that it is too much like the movie but what did they expect them to do its toy story and i have watched it on you tube it looks pretty cool i wish they would have brought twice charmed on the ship instead it looks great. all of the shows are great i have heard great things about the Hoop Dee do review but i haven't gotten to see it. i also haven't seen the nemo show at AK the last time i saw a show there it was the Tarzan show.

jenny105
02-04-2009, 02:01 PM
Hoop Dee Do. Thank you for the correct spelling :thumbsup2 I'll have to check it out on the website and see what it's like. We're going to our usual places (San Angel Inn and Primetime) but we want to try out new things to. But it's all up to me. DBf will go along with whatever I plan out! :rotfl:

Same here my DFi will go where ever i decide for dinner as long as they have something good to eat on the menu he doesn't care. However i think after the cruise he is going to be sick b/c i told him that you can order more than one dessert if you want and that there is a dessert buffet when they do the pirates in the Caribbean party. I just found out that our caterer is giving us a picnic basket to take with us to our hotel the night before we leave on our honeymoon i told her the only request that i have is for choc. covered Strawberries :cool1:

What kind of desserts do they have at this dessert buffet? :)

02-05-2009, 07:55 AM
I will make sure to look for the person with a fondue pot on their head!! :rotfl2:

Chocolate covered strawberries are YUM!! When DH and I were at Disney for our Honeymoon, DMIL sent us the tuxedo ones with a big mickey chocolate statue!! It was awesome!! That would be awesome if they had them on the dessert buffett!!

If you go to Hoop Dee Do, you will have to let me know how it is. We are always thinking about booking it, but never do because of DH's phobia of shows. I'll bet its cute though!!

disney honeymooners
02-05-2009, 08:18 AM
Yeah i bet the fondue pot on your head would be a uniquie fasion statement. :rotfl: :rotfl:
Your DH may have a phobia of shows but the ones on the ship (i feel) are really great and since we are on second seating dinning we can she the show before we eat.

m_kasch
02-05-2009, 09:01 AM
Oh don't worry, we have already discussed the shows on the ship!! I told him that he doesn't have a choice because this is the first vacation that I have picked all on my own that we have gone on ever!! Not that I don't like Disneyworld, because I love it, but it is nice to try something different!! And since I will be spending the entire next week in a villa with his whole family...well, he owes me!! :rotfl:

jenny105
02-05-2009, 09:41 AM
We're definitely going to see the shows! I'm lucky that my DBf enjoys anything Disney related as much as I do. He just lets me handle all the planning and scheduling. ;)

Mary, I see you've stayed at POR before. It'll be my first time there. How is it?? I always ask everyone for feedback.

Look for the girl with the fondue pot on her head!

m_kasch
02-05-2009, 09:51 AM
I have stayed at POR twice before, it is very nice! I like the food court, and the landscaping there is beautiful. I also really like the boat ride to downtown disney, especially because you float past the famed treehouse villas (which are opening up again this summer/fall -- so exciting!!). I still haven't stayed at the FQ, but want to. There are more water view rooms there since a lot of the buildings sit along the "river". We have a friend that works at Disneyworld (great perks!!), and she floats between POR and POFQ. She works at the concierge desk. She really likes working there!

jenny105
02-05-2009, 11:39 AM
Did you use the buses while you were there? I've heard they can cause issues. It's not a big deal because I'll have my car but I was just wondering.

I stopped by to have a look around the last time I was in WDW and it's beautiful! I took the launch from DTD and I saw the treetop villas. I would love to stay there when I have the $$$! My DBf prefers taking the buses but I always like taking the boats when I can. It's more relaxing!

disney honeymooners
02-05-2009, 03:33 PM
Mary i have stayed at POFQ and it is great you can never tell that the resort is crowded because of the way it is set up and the food court it WONDERFUL!! if you ever get the chance to stay there you have to get an ice cream sandwich they are HUGE!! and great.
I am glad that i will only have to ride the buses to DHS(MGM!!) and AK which is nice i think my DFi will be spoiled staying on the monorail system.

jenny105

i couldn't finish mine. i also have a note for myself and that is to get tonga toast everyone says it is somthing that you have to try atleast once if you stay at the Poly. I have seen it on the dis food pictures boards and it is HUGE!! i know that if i do get it i will not be able to finish it. Well atleast with yalls resort you can request a room with a king sized bed the only ones at the poly that have king sized beds are the suites and there is no way i am paying that much extra for a larger bed rather than 2 queen beds.

jenny105
02-05-2009, 04:24 PM

And remember to get a shaved ice at Japan!!

the only things i can think of is palces to eat that are great Ohana's @ the Poly and The Whispering Canyon Cafe @ WL (for breakfast). Also a great thing to do if you aren't gonna see Fantasmic is to ride TOT and RRC while everyone else is waiting in line for the show you can ride them each about 3 times before they actually open up the seating for fantasmic. If you have never ridden Splash Mtn at night you def need to do that it is really cool and the pictures look better. i am sure since you have been about as many times as me you probably know this.

jenny105
02-06-2009, 02:46 PM
I think we're going to see Fantasmic since we didn't see it last time. And yes, I've ridden Splash Mountain at night and you're right, it's awesome. It broke down while we were at MVMCP and opened up after about two hours and we were the first people to ride it. We got our own log and we bought the picture because it was just the two of us! BTMR is also awesome at night!

disney honeymooners
02-06-2009, 02:54 PM
Well we of course are going to do fantasmic but since we are doing the dinner package we don't have to be in line until 30min before the show starts so we could ride them each at least once. i got the t-shirt transfer paper to make our bride and groom shirts and i printed them last night but now i can't decide if i want to buy the polo shirts from disney with the stiched on character and bride or groom for us to wear on the ship or if i want to make one myself if you find any good looking images for honeymoon tshirts that i can use for the cruise email them to me thank you so much

Well you girls are chatty today! I am hanging at my grandpas in southern IL today, where they had the big ice storm last week. There are trees down everywhere its insane! And now I'm trying to sleep but its super windy and I'm afraid a tree is going to crash down on me in my sleep or something. Good thing I have my blackberry and the disboards to keep me distracted! Have you ever watched Illuminations from Rose and crown? If you make a reservation near the start time, you can ask to eat outside. Last time we were right along the water and it was really awesome! The show looks so different and you notice all kinds of things you can't usually see. We thought it was really cool.

Yeah jen i have seen that board that is where i got the design for 2 of our shirts but i was trying to find one for us to wear when we get on the ship that have something to do with cruising honeymoon or bahamas honeymoon.
I hope you are doing well Mary and hopefully the trees will not fall we don't have any problems down here in Ga. The only problem i am having is that i can not stop coughing so my enitire chest and body aches from coughing i which it would stop.:sad1:
Thank you Jen email me any images you find that you think would look good on a t-shirt for my honeymoon. Mary if you see any you can email them to me also @ daphnie1985@comcast.net Well my cough medicine is starting to work and i am having a hard time keeping my eyes open so i am gonna try and get some sleep.

Well, thankfully I made it out of my Grandpas without sustaining any tree damage!! LOL :) He lives in a super old farmhouse, and it is LOUD with all of the trees scraping on it and the wind blowing like mad...not to mention his is 91 and always cold, so his house is about 2,000 degrees. That and the fear of trees falling on my head made for excellent sleep!!

I hope you are feeling better, Lainey. Having a cough sucks. I had one around christmas-new years that would not go away, it was awful. I will make sure to email you if I come across any appopriate pictures!:goodvibes

All the talk of the shaved ice in Japan makes me laugh!! My BIL is OBSESSED with that stuff. He calls it by the technical name, Kaki Gori (or however you spell that) and gets very upset if you call it a snow cone or shaved ice. It is good though...I could go for one right now!!

Thank you Mary however my cough has not gone away it has gotten worse so i went to the Doctor today and found out that i have the FLU!!!!  So I have to stay home in bed until my fever goes away and if i go out i have to wear a mask to prevent me from spreading it. The one year i forgot to get a flu shot!!!
I am glad to hear that you got out of there ok.

Wow, your doctor is very serious about the flu!! I haven't had the flu in a very long time, but I also haven't noticed or heard of anyone having to wear a mask!! I did see a lady wearing one on an airplane once (just because she was afraid of germs) which i thought was odd. I hope you feel better!! :goodvibes

My MIL & FIL are at Disney right now, lucky ducks. They have to call us every day to say the weather is so nice, and where they ate (so far, Narcoossee's & Tutto Italia). I don't think I will make it to September without a Disney fix!!

I broke out my old Passporter cruise book, but I think I need a new one. I wish they came in color like their regular Passporter, looking at color pictures is so much more fun, LOL. So, do you both think we will set up a Fish Extender trade for our cruise? I suppose we will have to get more people than just the three of us. But it looks like fun! What do you think?

Hello! Sorry I was MIA. I had the weekend off work and then I ended up coming down with a stomach bug so that knocked me out of the office for 2 days. I feel better now. Lainey, I hope you're feeling better!

The FE sounds like a fun idea. Hopefully, more people will join in on this board so it won't just be us 3!! But if it is, that's ok too, cause we're fun. :)

02-11-2009, 01:10 PM
LOL, we are fun!! But you two are both sick -- better stay away!!

So now I am getting obsessed with planning (or more obsessed?). This morning I printed a giant copy of all the deck plans so I can see where would be the best place to be. I was thinking of updating to a room on deck 7, but it is about $715 more -- which is more than double what we are paying. :scared: But I really want to be able to see the ocean from my room!! Sigh, I keep checking in hopes that one of the secret porthole rooms comes open. Are you girls both in a balcony room? I think I read that before, but i'm too lazy to go back and check...

jenny105

I'm in an inside cabin. I don't spend much time in my room while I'm in cabins so I don't mind the dark, borderline claustrophobic atmosphere. :rotfl: Plus, it was less expensive! If you upgraded, we'd all be on Deck 7! Deck 7 PARTY! :woohoo:

I can see your ticker!! It is SUPER less expensive, so that's why I booked a GTY 12 to begin with!! Are you in an 11 or a 10? I at lease hope I get upgraded to a 10, because they are a little bigger. I'm trying to convince DH to upgrade. I guess I will just wait -- I keep saying that, but i'm super impatient. I need a support group or something -- Hello, my name is Mary, and i'm an insane disney cruise planning maniac!! :cool1:

I was looking at a Royal Caribbean book that I swiped from a travel agent's office one day (well I guess it isn't technically swiping since they give them away), and the RCCL has some super small rooms!! On their older ship, an interior state room is only 119 sq ft, and on disney, a category 11/12 is 184 sq ft. Makes me totally appreciate those rooms, even if it seems small!!

I hope Lainey is feeling better...:goodvibes

LOL Lainey, we were posting at the same time!! Do you know that there are 2 navigator's verandahs that are only partially obstructed full balconies instead of with the big porthole? They are 7620 & 7120. They are both still available, because that is what i'm trying to convince DH to upgrade to (I was just checking a bit ago). They look like this:

I can't see my ticker because my office blocked the website I got it off of. Why, I have no idea. Why block that of all things? My office is really ticking me off today and I'm about ready to go home. It's really windy here today and the awnings are practically blowing off the building so they have people on the roof stomping around and particles of dust are floating down from it. Looks really great for business. I hate this building and wished we never switched offices.

I'm in a CTGY 11. I'm hoping for an upgrade as well!

Happy Valentines Day!! Did you girls do anything fun? We tried to go out to eat, but nowhere takes reservations anymore and the wait at 5 was already almost 2 hours!! There was SO much traffic around here too, it was worse than when people are out christmas shopping!! So we went to Chipotle (how romantic, lol) and then I went to get some Rosa Regale and I made chocolate covered strawberries earlier...so now I am pretending I am drinkin my RR in Italy at Epcot!!

I was at home depot last night and swiped some lime green mickey heads so I can start working on our door magnets for the cruise. My DH thinks i'm nuts...oh, well!! :wizard:

Happy (late) Valentine's Day! I didn't do anything out of the ordinary. Unfortunately, I had to work 7-3. When I got home I took a nap and then my DBf and I went to grab something quick to eat at Panera Bread (how romantic!) since we didn't want to wait anywhere. Then we went to see Confessions of a Shopaholic. It was...not good. I love the books but the movie was nothing like that. I was really disappointed. Overall, it was a pretty normal day!

How do you make the door magnets?

That's a bummer about Confessions of a Shopoholic!! I am going to see it with my little sis on Friday.

So I got my Passport in the mail on Friday!! I was so excited!! :goodvibes DH didn't understand my excitement, but, whatever!! LOL I also booked us for the Romantic Escape at Sea package. I thought it would be nice since it will be our anniversary. Plus, we can book our stuff for the cruise at 105 days out instead of 75 days, which is always good!!

For the cruise magnets, I just looked over at the Creative DISigns board to get some ideas. You just get some magnetic paper from an office supply store (or wherever you can find it) and print it on there...it looks like fun, and gives me something to do to get ready for the cruise!! :wizard:

Is there a way to do it without the magnetic paper? My printer at home doesn't really work so well and I guess I could try it at work but I don't want to break anything! I'll have to check those boards out.

I have to get a passport!!! How long did it take to get yours? I've been hearing 2-3 weeks so I've been procrastinating.

You can also just print it on regular paper and then get magnetic strips. I got my magnetic paper yesterday! I haven't printed on it yet though, I will let you know how it works!!

My Passport came in exactly 3 weeks from when I applied for it. I think it might come quicker if you apply at the actual passport office instead of the post office, but I hate driving in Chicago, so I just went to the post office. I filled out the form online and it only took like 5 minutes. :goodvibes

Ok great! Now I know I can put it off for a couple more months

I will definitely have to look more into making magnets for our door. I saw in pictures some people had the Disney font spelling out their names on their doors. It looked really cute!

Well, I printed my first magnet last night! It came out really good on my home printer, I just put it on photo mode so that it would print its best. It looks really cute!

The weather here totally stinks!! It was so windy last night, I thought the house was falling apart. And it is below zero wind chills again...I wish spring was here already!! I am going to FL in a week and a half though. Not to Disney though, Sad :guilty: . But I am going to Busch Gardens, so that should be fun!

What happened to Lainey???

Last I knew, Lainey wasn't feeling well. I hope she's ok!

At least you'll get to escape the cold for a little while. I've never been to Busch Gardens! It's on the warmer side here today, in the 50s. That's warm for February! I can't wait until the spring either.

I'll have to check out your magnets on the ship!

Hi Lainey! :wave2: Sorry to hear you were so sick. I hope you're feeling better.

So I just booked 2 nights at the Pop for after the cruise. I'm looking at All Star Movies though and thinking I may switch over there. I've never been there and my DBf loves Toy Story and I love all things hockey, so it would probably be a good fit...:scratchin

I have had family members stay at all of them and the POP is their least favorite they said that the rooms seem smaller than the other all star resorts and that the walls let alot more sound in from their neighbors rooms but i have never stayed at them but i would either stay at the ASMu or ASM i think they look cool i love the giant toy story characters my mom said that she will prob. stay at ASM when she takes my DB he will be 6 when they go and he loves Toy Story.

Hi Lainey!! I'm glad to hear you are feeling better, sorry to hear you were so sick. The flu stinks!

I have only ever stayed at Pop, and our bed there stunk!! The springs were popping up and poking us all night, it was actually kind of funny. We got there really late (like 3am) and were only there for 1 night...it was a nice place to stay -- the theming was great, but the bed was not so good!! I have heard that they have new mattresses now though...so maybe it isn't a problem anymore. That's fun you will be there after the cruise, we will be there for the whole week after, but at Saratoga. I just can't wait for the food & wine festival!! :thumbsup2

I wish we could stay at the resort again after the cruise but since my DFi works for the Rail Road he only gets 2 weeks off a year and one he is using for the week of our wedding and the other for our honeymoon so we have to go back home after the cruise. it sucks but he said since we werent able to stay at WL and he wanted to so he said that we are going to have to go back and stay there.
