Was reading about the freebies that are handed out in the parks (dream fastpasses, ears, all the way up the stay in the castle).
Has anyone won anything as a solo traveler in one of the parks? I can't imagine WDW would ever u or gal walking through the park, but one of the dream fastpasses would be cool!

I've gotten DFPs a couple of times - once when I was solo and once with my DBF.

I've only witnessed freebies being given out to families with children. And rightfully so. I guess just like the PP^ said, you have to be at the right place at the right time.

Why is it "rightfully so"? I don't have a spouse or children, but my money is just as green... isn't it? :confused3

It's completely random who wins. A computer generates a certain time, place, event, occurrence, etc. etc. and the dream team is given envelopes/radios on where they are supposed to be and who is to win. It can be something like sitting in seat 2 of Dumbo #13 or the sixth person to walk past a certain water fountain after 12:24PM, etc.
The only reason you may see families win "more" is because there are more families at the parks than solo travelers/adult-only travelers. The computer choosing the time & place for the winner has no clue who it will be. Random.
That said, my mother and I (I'm 22) won Dream Fast Passes after getting our picture taken with Minnie at Camp Mickey in Animal Kingdom. =)
