I posted before that one of my student's father is a manager at DVC. He confirmed for me a couple of weeks ago about BLT. Well, I got a gift today from him. It's the advertisement booklet that will be available soon for DVC'ers. It shows the point chart, pictures of the rooms, talks about the engraved wall, lounge, pictures of the proposed pool area, etc... He also sent me the next edition of our DVC magazine. I haven't even had time to look at it yet. The message was I am the first person outside of dvc management to see it. My coworkers just thought I was nuts. I'm running around showing this to them and all I got was eye rolls. If someone would send me a pm of how to post pictures, I'll see what I can do.

Don't mean to be a downer, but we already have the points chart on the member website, and Webmaster Doc has toured the model rooms and shared many first hand pics of them. Thanks though for bringing the info as soon as you got it. We all rely on the people who have inside tracks for quick info.

Please pass on any new info you might come across. :thumbsup2

I just thought it was cool to have the info in my hands vs. looking at a monitor. Not having to wait weeks for the magazine was good too.

I think that it is neat. I am a little jealous. :thumbsup2 Anyway enjoy your goodies.

If you can take photos or otherwise copy the information booklet you received, feel free to email me and I'll try to help you post them on the DIS.

It's great that you have your own DVC source! :)

Thanks for sharing the good news! :teeth:

I got the booklet yesterday at the Wednesday member meeting. They said they had been mailed out in batches on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. There were about 10 or 15 of us that got the brochure after the meeting. I was able to tour the models this evening and they are much nicer than the pictures on the DVC website indicate. I thought I would hate them but actually there are many things about them that are really nice. The sliding doors to the bathrooms, and the pantry closet in the kitchens are very nice touches. The master bath shower is beautiful and has an overhead as well as a wall mounted shower head. The door from the master bedroom and living room each open onto the balcony in the one and two bedroom units.
I don't know if I like them enough to add on there but would like to stay at some point.
The people at the model rooms indicated that there have already been changes made from some of the original plans and furnishings and that there may be more to come as reactions are noted.
Did the next issue of the magazine offer any further info?

I wonder if the BLT points chart will have the problem.

ilovecoasters, that is very cool! I would be so excited too. :) I'd love to see the pictures if you can get them up.

castleri, thanks for the tidbits. I am happy with the way they look now, but I'm sure they will only make them better.

Ilovecoasters, I sure hope you will post any pictures in the brochure that have not been posted yet, especially any new shots of the pool area, etc.

Here's hoping your contact continues to keep you supplied with info as it becomes available, Maybe you will be as lucky with some info on the THV.

ilovecoasters, your goodies sound so cool! So fun to get an early scoop!

Webmaster Doc has toured the model rooms and shared many first hand pics of them.

Can anyone point me to the right thread for this? I've looked through many of the THV threads and can't find the pics, just the artist renderings and layout plans. TIA!

Well, I for one think this is COOL! Does the magazine have anything in it about GCV? Last year when it was announced, they said more details would be coming in an upcoming issue of the magazine, and I'm still waiting...

Thanks, I was so involved with the BLT/THV threads that I thought this one had info on both as well. And those BLT models are gorgeous--cool design, and what a view! Put me on the list of those wondering about being able to book BLT rooms with non-BLT points--I guess the only possible shot we'd ever have at MK views would be during the very slowest times of year :sad1: or maybe many extra sprinkles of pixie dust pixiedust:

Are the Wednesday meetings still held at BWV? I've never been to one before but we'll be staying at BWV starting 9/28 so maybe we'll stop in and pick up some info and plan to see the models first hand at SSR!

I have the Disney Files Fall 2008, Volume 17, no. 3. A inside view of a BLT room with Space Mountain in the background is on the cover (this picture is in the BLT booklet w/the kids playing Monopoly). Pages 3-6 are about BLT including more details about the pool. "It's a very unique pool slide, wrapped in glass block and creating an iconic element that I really think will be a focal point for this resort." It also talks about the 295 two bedroom units sleeping 9 and how it offers 3 bathrooms. There is nothing about GCV or the THV.

I fear I was coming across as condescending about your information. I did not intend to be. The "In hand" info and docs you have are certainly very special and enlightening. If I robbed you of some thunder... I apologize.

No big deal. I was just so excited to have it that I posted without reading the other threads.

Lucky you! I know how excited I get when my DVC mag comes in the mail but to know you got an "early edition"--even more exciting!

They are at the Atlantic Dance hall and you need to bring your blue member card with you. At this one they did not do much except play the games and give out a few prizes and then let everyone ask Ron questions afterwards. He didn't give any overview during the meeting - was just available to answer questions after it. I tried to get info about the THV but he said he just doesn't know any more than we do at this point.

Oh yes they did serve lemonade, cracker jacks and popcorn.

Thanks....we may check it out since we usually take a break in the afternoon from whatever we're doing. The snacks would be enough of a draw for our 3 boys! :goodvibes

OP, keep any/all inside info coming! With the way DVC sends out their planners to me, I'll get the new booklet in 2011.
