View Full Version : More good news...(for me atleast!)

Well, for those that have known me for a while, you might remember that I worked just off Oxford Street (Soho) - a great location with shops, restaurants, pubs but a year ago, due to our company taking over someone else, some of us got relocated to the Docklands :( Honestly, the two areas did NOT compare! And I wasn't too happy about it all...
BUT...(and here's the good news) after working out their figures, they sussed that it was more expensive running buildings that far apart (well, duh...I could have told you that!) So after some shuffling (and a few redundancies :( ) they've moved me back!!!
I'm so happy at being back in the middle of nice things instead of in a concrete wasteland, I can hardly believe it :) :) :)
So, anytime someone fancies a mini-DIS meet right in Central London - count me in!!!!!

I really do understand how happy you must feel Penny, as I went through the same thing a few years ago.
I used to work in the centre of Manchester and loved it, every lunch time I'd be out there shopping or just wandering round soaking up the atmosphere. Then they decided to move us to Old Trafford, which is just outside Manchester, it had nothing, just a row of local shops, I was SO depressed! The only good thing to come out of it was my flexi-time sheet look absolutely wonderful, as I didn't have 2 hour lunches any more! ;)

That area is just sooo handy - I used to work around there as well - ran away to London when I was 18 - LOL
Worked in the intrepid Fox, Wardour St, New Casanova, Grosvenor st, and Barratts, Oxford St.
i live in paddington so I used to cycle in - marble Arch - aaaagh!! in contrast, there is nothing in the Docklands.

Shirley you're right! Moving back to the West End is the equivelent to a pay cut because I spend more, LOL.
Elise, I know the Intrepid Fox, just a couple of minutes round the corner from me :)
Cool! Well, when the weather turns nice again, I feel a little lunchtime mini-meet coming on :)
